ZU an ad page?

This is a little similar to BGS's .net problem
Everytime i come on ZU when im looking these ads come popping up for mowhere. My firefox is not doing anything and just what is going on?

Look at the attachment, you can see an ad i get saying that i may have spyware and it makes one of those error window noises
What is going on?Don't say viruses trojans or anything like that becuase McAfee blocks them

Re: ZU an ad page?

You have Virus'/Spyware on your PC. ZU has no pop-ups programed into the forums, but spyware can cause them to appear everywhere.

www.getfirefox.com <- solves all your problems.

Gd's right. I am not aware of pop-ups on the forums. Any instance of that is from your computer.

Re: ZU an ad page?

Yeah, SpySubtract and Ad-Aware are the best for removing it and I would suggest that you do it fast as it can cause the death of your computer.

As for firefox: It doesn't solve all your problems

Sure it isn't as open to spyware as internet explorer, but it cannot handle a lot of JAVA and PHP features.

Re: ZU an ad page?

No, I don't get many popups, thanks to FireFox. But I hate the ads on the main site. >.<

Then get the ad-blocker add-on for Firefox, it lets you block banner ads, flash ads, and just images in general.

Re: ZU an ad page?

I have a pop-up blocker built into my computer, and I have Firefox, I haven't gotten a pop-up in well over a year.

Re: ZU an ad page?

There are no popups of any kind running on the Forums, and on the main site less than 1% of the sessions have popups, and it is limited to one popup per session. That means that statistically you should see a popup less than 1 time for every hundred time you VISIT the site (not every hundred page you see on the site).

Believe it or not that actually makes a few dollars per day.
