a small question about avitars and sigs
well this is my first thread and i have a question about the avitars and sigs
i currently have switched some of my .bmp files to .png files and they take up almost three times as much space! i can't use my custom avitars and sigs because they take up too much! help what am i doing wrong? thanks!

A riddle game is only allowed in the clans.
I would suggest saving the avatar in question as a .jpg or .gif file.

and how do I change files to jpg or gif? do I need any new software?

No, just click Start, go to My Pictures, which is where the avatar should be stored, right click the image, select Edit, and it should take you to Paint. Go to File, Save As, and there will be a box under the name of the file with a list of things you can save it as, GIF and JPG are in there. I'd select JPG if I were you, GIF makes my images real blurry.

i tried that but when i find that menu i can only save it as different sizes and qualities of .bmp or.dib

i run on windows 98 second. the photobucket might work thanks but not now, i've been online too long today anyways

MS paint allows you to save files as .jpg. They tend to look awful in doing so, but it can be done.

i got the sig to work but i'm having problems with the avvy. the photobucket address doesn't work with the avitar part here. anyways i still can't save it as a jpg or png
edit: woah i just found this when i clicked save changes in avitars!  what happened was i was able to convert the avitar to a jpg but the systems still recognised it as a bmp so i put it into photobucket and used the address in ZU and that screen came up in a new window! it repeats the 20 and 22 thing for a long time! so mods please hear my plea! another edit: I finally got it to work! thanks for your help anyways! MODS PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED!
