In line with all the changes and improvements that have been going on over the last week and a half, I've decided that, after today's hefty changes, it's worth updating the version number on the Temple skin. The skin is now version 2.1. Now, that wouldn't mean anything if I hadn't made further changes to the skin, so here's what I've done that's new as of today:
- Revised Icon Set - As Fury Three pointed out, the old icon set was both broken and confusing. A new thread activity icon set has been made in the style of the old one, but reduces the number of colors to two. Here's the breakdown:
- Gold threads are normal threads. They indicate new or moderately active threads.
- Red threads are hot threads. They're more active than normal threads.
- A key symbol beneath either of those symbols means the thread is locked.
- The two dots to the left and right of the icons have remained unchanged.
- PM icons also follow this system. Silver PM icons have been made golden.
- Announcements also follow this system. Old announcements are gold, and new announcements are red.
- New Footer (forums AND main site!) - The old footer was crappy, and had been recompressed several times since its inception. The new footer on the forums is more in line now with the one on the main site, is of a higher quality, and has a smaller file size than the previous footer. On the main site, the footer has been entirely restructured and recoded. It uses three images instead of five now to display the bottoms of the columns + the footer itself. Again, higher quality, lower file size.
- Revised Forum Icons - The small rupees have been upgraded to slightly bigger rupees. They no longer have that weird graphical glitch at the top of the rupee.
- Forum Drop Shadow - The entire boards now have a drop shadow behind them to keep it more in line with the main site's style.
- Revised Header - Fixed some graphical glitches in the header. You may or may not have ever noticed them, but they're gone now regardless. Adjusted the header to flow properly with the new drop shadow as well. Buttons on the left side of the header are no longer cut off at the bottom in Firefox.
- Dismiss Button - The "dismiss" text in notifications has been changed into a graphical button on all skins, making it easier to spot amongst paragraphs of notice text.
- All those other changes made over the last week or so are also part of this.
As always, I will continue to keep the boards up-to-date and running smoothly as best I can! When vBulletin 4 comes out, the Temple skin will receive a huge overhaul and hopefully look ten thousand times closer to what we'd actually like it to look like. Until then, I'll keep working on fixing weird graphical glitches around the boards as I have.
Thanks!
