The Clan Arena Needs Life, But What Should We Feed It?

Once we have a better idea of what some of the participation will be like in the clan games/competition, but there will probably be one or two events before this will be used, but it should be good fun :3

shikaino, and I are trying to bring The Clan Arena back to life. But, we don't know what kind of games members would like in there. The only thread that brings some attention is the "Lets Count To A Million Thread:..." I came up with a game, and shikaino ok-ed it. But, ZU needs to wait until this information is noted down. (...and when ZU becomes a bit faster.) So, what you do here is pretty self-explanatory. What kind of games do you want in The Clan Arena? A thread like this was likely made before, but I made it so we could bring back the old Clan-nuke-area. shikaino, and I cannot do this alone. I am not sure if other members are helping yet, but this thread should change that...

I'm planning to start another ZU Kombat, but I need to tighten some of the rules since the last one became too spammy.

Let's go digging for the fun old games. Maybe get someone willing to organize and run Clan Survivor? I can't remember much about it other then that it was fun, long lasting, and incredibly well organized. And I think it was made by Lio... I dunno.

Eh, I think we need more organized games. Not "guess stuff randomly". Or "just post whatever number". Or "Do something to the user above you". Let's get a real game going. One with rules. One with sense. One with effort. And whatever we pick needs to be a fresh idea. Either something shiny and new to ZU or something old enough that no one's played it in a year or two.

No more guessing games. Let's get something organized and thought out for once.

I agree, posting random stuff is not that fun at all. Ex: "Describe the person above you in three words." Um, yeah. It got old real fast. I have not even been around for an entire year yet, but I like the whole "Clan Survivor" thing. Organization is key, and I won't have any threads here that are nothing but spam holes. (Other then the counting thread.) I'll keep counting there until we get to one million. After that, I'm done.


Edit: I would do it, but I'm not a mod/staff member. shikaino could help a lot. He is always on top of things in the counting thread. I'm also thinking that the Community Coordinators could help to. After all, it is a part of the community...

We need another interactive story. Nayru had one for a while, but it died... so yes, that we do need. An interactive story would be very fun.

from the sound of it, these all seem like interesting ideas. Though, I can't help but be a little confused by some of the ones that have been referred to only by their names. Not to whine and be helpless, but can someone punch up a quick "explanation" for these games? I'm pretty sure they're gonna go right over the heads of newer members, such as myself.

Yeah, I actually kind of miss the old truth/dare thread and some of the combat threads too. I think if we get something really well organized, like Blizz's game or Pup Pup's Survivor suggestion, then it could really be something.

I was thinking more Din vs Nayru vs Farore all at once, since the game basically goes on forever. However, I might be willing to compromise. We shall see.

But it will be called ZU Kombat V: The Clan Wars.

No, Community Coordinators are organizing specific projects. I'm only working on the BPP. I know nothing about Gender Wars or any of the other projects people in there are working on. The project probably won't be big enough to require a team anyways.

See? Organized. And, obviously the rules would change. Like, maybe 10 members per clan instead of 6 since there are more people about now. But the general way it went was that the members worked together in threads in their clans to complete the challenges. You can probably find the camps if you search around the dates from that thread. (But yeah, it'd have to be a mod running the game, since they have all clan access I just realized...)

Anyways, perhaps find a mod willing to organize/run that? (Can't be a regular member since the person needs to be able to see all the clans to prevent cheating.)

Whatever we end up making, it needs to be organized. I'm tired of seeing pure spam in that section. Also, Shik, you never did read through and delete from that list of +1 posts from CtaM that I PMed you.

Exactly. Organized. Not random. Teams. Working together. Individualistic games belong in the clans. There's no reason to dump them all into the arena.

I like it, but the title is to general. I say we take that title, and add some"zest" to it.

I'm guessing the Clan Arena mods will have to work on overdrive to combat with this sudden explosion of ideas... They have been on sleep mode for a while now...

Well, no one here seems to remember what the Clan Survivor was, but ZU Kombat is a game where you text fight each other into oblivion. There are no winners or losers, you just fight each other. And the Interactive Story is a story where each member writes the next paragraph, leaving the story open to be continued by the next member, etc.

That survivor thing sounds really cool! ^_^

Interesting, thank you King KK. I am quite interested in how Clan Survivor works though, it sounds like a pretty cool idea, in my head atleast.

Hm, seems pretty cool. Doesn't seem like a ridiculous amount of work to host, either. I'm all for it!

Enabling post count would make it 20 times as active, however I am not sure if that fact would outweigh the negatives of enabling post count... At all.

Going back on what Rew said, I actually miss the truth or dare threads. I didnt participate in the combat threads until the latter part of my time here, but I'd like to see them revived in some form along with the truth or dare threads.

As long as I can return to the Count thread in 3 weeks....

I could organize a game of Werewolf. >D

Maybe some good old-fashioned Mafia? It works for parties...

As it is directly under mine, I'll assume you know they game I mentioned is the same thing, only rather than mafia and detectives you have werewolves and seers. ;D

I'll edit my first post to list what kind of games/what games you want...

IF all of these games are allowed to be on ZU, it should last us some time, and get some activity back to The Clan Arena.
