It keeps flooding the screen with that, and whenever I try to change my nick, it says "Not connected".

This appears to be a problem with the client itself. It takes his username and tries to connect. You can see the connection process going smoothly until it says his name is in use. Of course, he can't actually change his name because the connection process isn't completed.

If it was a firewall issue, the connection process wouldn't even go as far as it did.

As many know now, chat is fixed!!

Except that the majority of this discussion (all of the stuff with TW) came after I fixed it.


I Don't know what would cause the issues being discussed. My suggestion is to use TAU's irc client, as it does not rely on Java, and isn't blocked by anything, really.

(Although, it's much less pretty.)
