[Feedback] Custom Ranks: General

Note: This thread is not for ranking ranks, (for there is already another thread for that). What do you think of ranks in general? Like them? Hate them? Custom Ranks can be anything from a random statement, to a line of a poem. Do you like spamy ranks? Why, or why not? What do you think of ranks in color? (Mods only, usually)

1) I love custom ranks. They are space were you can type almost anything, that follows the guidelines of the rules.

2) Custom ranks are just asking to be spamy. There is no fancy way to have a CR. CRs with random statements are one of the things that make ZU. Not to mention how funny some CRs can be.

3) I agree with Jason when he said (not direct statement)

Too many colored custom ranks with or without bold/underline uglies up the form, which makes it unprofessional.

Personally, I would love to have my CR in colour. I see no problem with spammy ranks, although I don't agree with the banned user ranks.

I would have to disagree with Jase on the fact that colour ranks make the forum look messy. I can't see how it makes that much of a difference. I'd have mine in bright pink if I could. And if it winds Jase up, all the better. Lol. *Prepares for the grilling to commence* xP

Let mods and/or site staff have coloured ranks. It makes them feel special.

I love custom ranks.

But adding things such as bold, italic and underlined will make them pretty shweet.

Not too keen on colour though...blech

I think color would be wonderful. :3

Bold and italic, actually, would be more annoying.

Only thing with colour is that it would be redicuosly hard to read with some colours for those who are colourblind, like myself. Other than that I have no objection towards it.

And as Asci said, Bold and Italics would just be too annoying to read constantly.

how do i edit my custom rank?

I should of saw this comming.

You get a custom rank once you been a member of ZU for 120 days, and made atleast 50 posts. You do not have a custom rank yet, therefore you can not edit your's yet for it is not opened for you.

I did not get mine untill it hit 1023 posts. But then again that is only because I post a lot.

Once you have, go to "Edit details" and scroll down, and a custom rank box should pop up for you.

I think it should be a harder feature to earn. 120 days and 50 post is to easy.

and blegh, CRs are just a small place for a line of lyrics on an unfunny pun.

Just drop all restrictions on ranks already. What useful purpose does restricting this **** and making such a big ****ing deal about it serve?

Except they really aren't. (I've always disagreed with the mods > everyone else mentality, as should everyone else)

Ah yes, I'm sure we all long for the days where members would spam to 1000 posts for a meaningless line of text under their names.

If the mods get color, we should. There is nothing wrong with us having a little color in there.

Didn't Gerudo have colour in the CR? I think so.

How was that accomplished, or was that something thrown together just for that account?

They spam now just for e-penis bragging rights. Hell, back then most custom ranks were earned the hard way.

I say if we get custom ranks, then we should have the option to customize them as the title "custom rank" applies.
