Colors

I noticed there are quite a few different forum skins. It would be cool if there were more colors, and I would be willing to help design new skins. I am not a graphic designer by any means, and I know this is not at the top you the list of priorities for ZU. I am guessing it is a lot harder then just coloring.

Also I think it would be cool if users could, if they want, pick a skin where every user's personality shows through. For example if your favorite color is purple, then the skins for all your posts would be purple. If your favorite color is red, then all the skins for your posts would be red. It would be a sort of multi color skin.

I don't know if this would take up too much room and make the forums run slower, or it is just to hard to do. It's just a creative suggestion that I would be willing to help out with, but I don't know where to start, and there might not be anyone else who even cares what the forum skin is...

I'm in no way complaining with what we have now. I like it, it was just suggestion for possible future ideas.

Eh, I don't see much of a need for anymore skins. I mean, there are already 4 of them. Most users are happy with whichever one they have already. Also, what point would there be in letting users set their own little block color? Do you have any idea how annoying that'd be?

Anything in rainbow is hard on the eyes.

Anyways, if there was a skin like that no one would use it because the colors would be insanely annoying. Also, because that'd be so impractical for viewing, it wouldn't make it as the main skin and no one would use it. Then, with no one using it, no one would realize it was there or that they could change the color settings, therefore making it even more useless because no one would bother setting their colors.

Anyways, that's my thoughts on it. Too bright, it'd hurt the eyes, no one would use it, no one would set their rainbow colors, no need for yet another forum skin, and we only just got the skin that looks like the main site.

But you're right...it would be hard on the eyes and color doesn't even matter to most...What if each sepeate forum were in a different color?

It'd give me a headache. Of course, even if they did that color thing I'd still stick with the old blue skin.

Anyways, if they made each forum a different color it'd still be alittle bit annoying. What'd become of the Search page? Who's Online, and the Index? All those involve all the other forums. With all those colors, what'd happen with the people who have their favorite colors that they always post in? Alonely uses RoyalBlue, Foamy uses Red, and a few others always type in the same color. If each forum is a different color, it'd be alot of colors. It'd make it incredibly hard to read the posts by whoever had been typing in the same color as the forum. It'd also mean having to do a different skin for each forum (if that's even possible to do, I wouldn't know). They had that problem a while ago. When I first joined, mod names on the Who's Online List and when they posted were the way they are now, bold, underlined, and whatever else. For a while they had swapped over to a color coded system. Then they got to many skin colors and had to change away from it because they couldn't find colors that were readable on every skin.

Also, even if it was only coloring every different forum, it'd still be alot of random and probably bright colors. It'd hurt my eyes at least. Probably a few others like that.

Anyways, don't listen to me. I wouldn't like it, I think it'd be a headache. Also, it might not be possible to do on VB. Also, the general declaration from the dozens of times people have requested a red skin generally ended with the admins complaining that a new skin was alot of work. So that's how I guessing this'll go...

Wrong. Are you living on Mars? The blue skin was first. Then they added the white one. Green was added third. Most recently they added the one that's been named Main.

There's still plenty of people who like changing the skin. They get bored of the current colors and want something new.
