Suggestion for the Battle School.

I thought of something that the battle school teachers could do once in a while. Each one would choose one of their students in beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes. Then, there would be a tournament of the chosen beginners, then intermediates, then advanced. Or they could just choose three random students to enter in the tournament.

After all, a little friendly competition between the various battle school classes would be pretty sweet.

I think that sounds great! That would be awesome!

Mikey B, we are working on many different projects in the BA right now. If you have questions like this in the future, PM a member of the Council or post in the OoC Thread. Trust me, this wouldn't be the most exciting thing we've thought of.

But right now, things aren't going as fast as they could.

Right now, it already takes BA teachers long enough to reply as it is. There are so many students.

A better idea would be as if it is set up like a 'doctor's office.'

What I mean by that, is, they have assistants (TA) checking up on everyone and stuff, when the doctors (teachers) stop in quickly to post and that kind of stuff. The TA's work with them on the grammar and such, when the teachers actually focus on the writing style and excitment.

But I dunno. Just a suggestion.

While I like the idea, tournments have been done before, I think and to the best of my knowledge, they have been kind of discontinuied since they got really messy and frustrating to maintain.

That is correct, the Council had trouble maintaing interest, and the idea was shut down. We are considering a tournament idea, but nothing is definite.

As for the teachers, the reason is because there are three teachers, linkmastersword, Safer, and Shrub, and two TAs, myself and Zanza. linkmastersword takes on about two students at a time, if he feels like it, but the main bulk has passed to Safer and Shrub.

Shrub takes time because all her students use different threads, but Safer has all his students in a class project. The loss of Ry-san was bad, but we are regaining and are almost back on track.

Mmm. I guess I am one of LinkMS' students.

I really wish he would come back soon...

And I'm really not trying to put you all down, but I know many students would like to go at a faster pace... like me. ><

Well, unless the Council has forgotten *cough*, that may change soon.

That would be better than the tornament I took part in back in February. It was utter chaos, to win you had to hit the person 10 times, that was wierd. I think the Mods just need to make tornaments for people to enter, but than again, that is a lot of work.

All right, all of you with questions, you'd be wise to listen to Power Shot. He's very attentive, and know's just about everything that's going on in the BA, if not everything. So far, he's been correct in his answerings (real word?), except maybe for the one concerning LMS. I think LMS usually take on three-five students at a time, not two. I could be wrong, but I don't really care.

And yeah, we have a whole lot of things planned at the moment. Unfortunately, none of them are currently ready to be implemented. If we're lucky, we should have one or two up by the end of the holidays, but if things move slowly (which they aren't, currently), it may take longer.

Anyway, if any of you have problems with the speed at which your teachers move, you can take it up with them personally. But we'll have none of this talking behind their backs. We can't make them work faster, so speak with them. And really, you all have to understand that these people are sacreficing their spare time to teach y'all, and they're not getting paid. So I think they deserve a little more respect and credit than what you're giving them.

That's right, listen to the guru, Ax. The guy's been working on this longer than I have, so he knows his stuff. But thanks for the compliment.

Teachers deserve a lot of respect for the job they do. It's important to remember that they are doing it for nothing other than the pleasure and goodness of their hearts to teach complete strangers how to write better. But remember that the Council also have lives outside of the BA (I don't apply to this, I'm bored) and we have to balance managing the hardest section of ZU. Right now we're kind of minus one of our mods and GC's gone AWOL for a little while, so bear with us as we have to enforce the rules.

Being a BA Council member isn't all play, it's a lot of work. It's easy to complain about how slow we can work sometimes, but it's better to remember how hard we work for everyone. Keep with us, we have great things planned for everyone. We get requests every now and then to be Council members, but only those really dedicated can stick with it.

It's still the best job I've ever had, but many wouldn't be able to cope with it.

You lie! You know very well that you love being on the council, and even if it was that hard of a job, you'd find ways to make it easier for yourself . Nah .

But to tell the truth, it's only hard on yourself if you push yourself to do more than you should be doing. If an approver sets his/her own limits and sticks with them, it's really cake. Not chocolate cake, mind you, but cake all the same. Perhaps butterscotch cake. Yes. If you pace yourself correctly, being an approver is just like butterscotch cake. Is there even such a thing as butterscotch cake?

And besides, you love the power. Admit it!

All right fine! Power Shot admits he loves power (who didn't see that coming?) I have a big ego that has increased with my power in the BA .

Just kidding, it's a pretty good gig. Ax does most of the work with LEA and GC, but we all do our parts.

1) You will see our ideas when everyone else does, Scoria - after we've made them workable and knocked off the rough edges. That way, you should enjoy them more.

2) I suggest you knock off some of those images/videos/whatever in your sig before someone higher up sees it. It's way too big as is.
