How do I put an image in my signature?
Select and copy the url to your image. If it is an image that is on your computer, you will need to upload it to an image hosting site, such as Photobucket, or ImageShack.

Go into your User Control Panel (or UserCP) and then click on "Edit Signature" from the list of options on the left, under the heading "Settings & Options."

You will be presented with a new page, and a text box. From here you have two options, both accomplishing the same task:

1) You can press the Insert Image button and paste the url into the image box that pops-up on your screen.

2) You can type [IMG] then paste the url to your image and type [/IMG]

Either way, you should have something that looks like [IMG]Url Here[/IMG] - for example, my current sig would be [IMG]http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a148/Princess_Rhea/michaelbanner.png[/IMG]

How do I get an avatar?
As with your signature, go to your UserCP.

Under the "Settings & Options" clicj the "Edit Avatar" option.

From here you can choose from the library of avatars ZU has provided for you, upload an image from your computer onto ZU or link to an image of your own.

How do use the Youtube tags?
You can either type the code [YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE] or click the Youtube tag button located within the Advance Post feature.

Within these tags, you need to past a small part of the youtube link - NOT all of it, but the portion near the end, after the equal sign.

So if my youtube link is all you want is the bolded part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c71RCAyLS1M

Copy and paste just that within the youtube tags and then you're done!

So it should look like this:
[YOUTUBE]c71RCAyLS1M[/YOUTUBE]

And when you post it, it'll look like this!



How do I put an image in my custom rank?
The long and short of it is, you can't.

The only people who can put images within a custom rank are people with access to the Admin Control Panel - namely super moderators, administrators, webmasters and code wizards. If you ask one of these people nicely to put an image within your custom rank, they may choose to do so, but are not required. Remember to be polite!

How do I use the expandable spoiler?
Sadly, we don't have a button for the expandable spoiler, but you can still type the code for it manually! The code for it is [ESPOILER][/ESPOILER] and you use it just like the other spoiler - simply type whatever you wish to be hidden within it. This is pretty useful for posts with lots of images or videos!

How do I strike out my text?
You put the strike tags on either side of the text you want struck out. They are:
[strike][/strike]

Here's an example.

How do I post images?
As with signatures, you need the link to the image and you can either click the Insert Image button or can wrap [IMG][/IMG] around the url.

So like this [IMG]http://www.zeldauniverse.net/forums/images/zustyle/misc/menu_open.gif[/IMG] which becomes:



How do I post BBcode without it disappearing?
You have to use the No Parse tags. I've riddled examples of this throughout this little how to guide, but shortly it's like this: [noparse][url][/url][/noparse]

I fixed up a quick little BBCode bug in your post, Mike. Just in case you wondered why.

Isn't at least half of this stuff covered by the newbie's guide? I mean, sure it's useful to have it here where people are going to ask questions anyway, but I wouldn't consider this a good thing if it's at the expense of people actually reading the guide.

I'd probably prefer to adapt the newbies' guide with this kinda stuff.

Why not both? A little copypasta never hurt anyone.
