Forum Games

ZU is the only forum I know of that doesn't have a Forum Games section. Occasional games happen in CC, but not that many.

Such a forum would house games like "rate the avatar/signature/username above me" and "what the avatar/signature/username above me is thinking" and things like hurt 'n' heals.

It might work best as a subforum of CC.

Got that ♥♥♥♥ going on in the clans, though you're not in one. I would like to see more game-orientated stuff in the CC, too, honestly.

I refuse to join a clan.

Maybe an alternative could be something like uhhhhh an arcade?

Arcade sounds cool.

It's an option, a perk for members after a certain amount of activity here. So that's fine if you don't want in.

I do feel game-type stuff would benefit the CC, though, with activity and making it feel a little more community orientated.

That might be a good idea for people who don't like clans.

Right. I don't want to have to join a clan to play forum games.

I have to be free, free to fly, fly high, high in the sky.

We're not putting in "...above you" threads. There are enough of them already in the temple, if you want them that bad join a clan. Those things have clogged up the public boards in the past because it seems like everyone wants to start one to be different or something. Same idea as Kassi's "which is better" threads
announcement.

If you have an idea for a game that involves more than random spam, feel free to PM DD123 or I any time.

I don't really want to see games in GCC or CC, but that's just me.

I mean, detailed, organised games like the currently running Mafia thing, that's okay, that I do approve of, that I like. But those "rate avy/sig" things should stay in the clans, imo.

To be fair, also, Matt and DD have let three games of Mafia happen now, and even let me run some silly doodle-Scrapbook game a while back. I should've pointed that out earlier. So games have happened.

While those are nice enough, they aren't the kind that only a real Games section can produce.

I find it odd to limit these things to clan sections for two reasons:
1. It prevents neophytes and the unaligned from participating
2. It limits players to the members of ONE clan, as opposed to letting all clans play together and having more players

No it doesn't. The Temple of Light and Dark is a communal place all the clans can view. That's where a lot of games take place. There are also games specific in each clan as well for those who want them.


To be perferfectly blunt (and I can never understand why people complain about me, hmm....), I really don't care if you don't want to join a clan. That's your choice. But the public boards are not for that kind of stuff. The clans are the "fun" places for spam, random crap and other annoying things. If you want to take part in any of that, join a clan.

I never said they were. I simply said if you want to take part in that sstuff, join a clan.

Ugh you missed the point. Anyone can join a clan after they've been here a wee bit. The incentive is to be able to interact with a closer knit set of individuals and spam ♥♥♥♥ up in the clan boards. Like Mattocks said, the Temple is for stupid games and things all members in clans can use.

I hate the idea of forum games outside that area. It just. eww..

It doesn't seem fair to require joining supposedly optional groups to enjoy features that should be available to all.

Besides, it means that people can't play games for at least their first month.

Then they should spend thier first month getting to know the boards, building good posting habbits and making friends.

And they are not feature that should be available to all. They're spam, and that isn't what the open boards are for, especially not CC.

Joining ZU is optional. Why should people have to join to post?

Well, they wouldn't be spam if that was what the forum was for...

As for "joining to post", the primary reason to join ZU is to post. Are you claiming the primary purpose of the clans is to play forum games?

I actually think this is a pretty good idea. As long as there are guidelines, like you have to take it up with a mod before you start a game. As long as they aren't generic 'lol ^<V' threads or 'one word story lol' threads I think it would be nice.
