I'm sorry Jason, but I'm afraid that I'll still be using an ad-blocker whenever I use Firefox (I'm on Chrome at the moment).

I understand that these adverts are important money makers for the website, but at the same time I usually block them because I find them to be extremely irritating, intrusive and noisy. There's often a video ad on the main forum page, for instance - it irks me so much if I don't have an ad-blocker installed because it blares unexpectedly, startling me and also disrupting whatever I was focusing on at the time.

I'm also a tad concerned about the potential for a security threat to my computer with the addition of these new adverts that pop up to fill the screen when I click on a link (I just had a Walmart ad), although this fear may be unfounded.

I will say though that if there are indeed no associated security threats (and if that irritating video commercial was done away with!), I'd be fine with not using an ad-blocker to view this site.

I use Google Chrome as well and haven't gotten anything like that.

I used Google chrome and I've gotten it 2 or 3 times.

Blocking access for people who use the most widely used browser plugins is hilarious. Not to mention scripts like that can be blocked in two seconds. Sorry, dude.

Anyway, I was joking about you not needing more money, but these kinds of ads are ridiculous. I will not support their addition to the site, which is why I suggested an ad blocker. I don't believe interstitial ads are the last resort. I support and care about ZU, which is why I don't want it ruined by ads like these.

Read that as "what the hell aids". I'm not having a problem, but that's just me. Try hitting the back button when on the ad. If it redirects you, you have malware.

Heh, if the administrator of this site would truly resort to banning me just because I have a widely-used plugin to protect my computer's security (and reduce noise irritation while I read), I'm not really sure that I'd want to hang around! ^_^

Weird as hell that I haven't gotten it yet. I encounter every single issue ZU has.

I don't use an adblocker against ZU specifically, I use it for my computer's security. You're implying we use adblockers so that ZU doesn't make money. I just don't want to deal with a bunch of ads all over my screen that I won't click.

Basically, Jason will be banning around 90% of his forum, and then he'll figure out why everyone hates him.

Not to be mean or anything but some people on this site don't know they have a Ad blocker.

Blocking members won't solve a thing really.
You'll still have a problem with money and you'll lose members.
That way you lose.
OR.
You can share the website with another person and half the cost to you and them.
You have members and more money.
Just less authority.
Your choice.

Jason was messing around with ads to pay for ZU
EDIT:@PS that might be the cheaper solution but that is Jason's own decision.
