[Question] Server hiccup?

I noticed around 10pm (Pacific time)theres a very slight server hiccup that occurs here. I know its really nothing to worry about since it seems to go away in about 10 minutes. I know of another board that has the same problem everyday at 12am. I was just wondering if thats actually whats going on and not my browser being a bastage again.

This. For me it always happens about 1:10 AM every day, without fail. It's gotta be the backups.

they used to do it only weekly, and the server would go out for like half an hour at a time, but I guess they got tired of losing an entire week of content whenever the forums crashed and burned (usually due to some L337 H4XX0RZ).

so now they do it daily.

Makes sense. It's better that the forum has a tiny hiccup for a minute or two each day, and loses only one day's worth of data when disaster strikes, rather than losing an entire week's worth of data.

Yes, it's the backups. They happen at 1am EST every day.
