Internet crashes on main site!

Okay, thre's something screwy going on here. The forums work just fine like it would for anyone else. But recently my web browser( IE8 btw) crashes on the main site!

What do I mean by crashes? Well for one, the site locks up, like it's got lagg issues. A few seconds later my screen (well the internet window) goes offwhite and doesn't respond! I try to do the thing where it says "restore your last session" but the second I start messing around ZU it crashes again.

This is a better place to find help. :3

And nope, I've not experienced this thing yet.

Works fine for me. My recommendation is to download a good browser, and to clear your cache.

Does it do this with any other browsers, or just IE? If it is just IE, do what Silver said.

IE just isn't a very good browser, get a better one. I haven't had any problems with the site.

It's not the browser, because it's only been happening since they cut "support" for IE6 which I have IE 8. Other sites work just fine with IE, so I'd rather try clearing my cache...if I knew how to do that...

They stated and I quote "Please upgrade to IE 8 or another more up to date browser, this site will no longer support IE6 or earlier versions"

Like I said, download a better browser. I'm using Firefox and I am having no problems whatsoever.

Just cause ZU is supporting IE8 doesn't make up for the fact that it doesn't hold up to most, if not all, web standards.

Firefox and Chrome are having no problems with the site.

I tried google chrome, and I end up getting issues on another fave of mind, Youtube who SUGGESTED chrome in the first place.

So yeah I MIGHT change browsers, but only if clearing the browser cache doesn't work. like I said I have no idea how...sooo..that's like, me asking how to do it....

This post makes absolutely no sense at all. It's not the ZU server since otherwise we'd all be getting errors, and even if Zfan had his own server, it would be used to host a site of his, not access ZU.

Helo...did anyone even hear me ask HOW to clear the browser cache? I've been asking how to do so the last three posts, but the only responses I get are try a different browser. I WILL but only if clearing the cache doesn't work first now could someone please explain how to do so?

Tools -> Internet options -> Browsing history -> Delete (make sure all are checked).

That said, IE is so bad I replaced it with Opera for use as my SECONDARY browser. It's not even good enough for a backup.

It only crashes if you use IE. Just use Firefox; Firefox works fine.

Guys, stop telling him to switch browsers.

We do support IE7 and 8 on the main site, and it does work properly in both of those browsers. I recommend clearing your cache and such, because on my Windows installation things are peachy.

Uh no, that isn't funny...okay a little, but not haha funy. I meant my internet(my internet window) captain sarcasm.

And yeah, I just added ZU to compatability view list too, and I'm gonna clear my stuff. If I still have issues I'll consider changing browsers...or just sticking to the forums.

Also Jason, now that you're here, and not to be silly who would you make 'real' not the reason, just who. They'd be full 3D and alive, just animated in whatever style they were drawn in lol.

I'm not sure if he knows what you're talking about; this isn't that thread, and Jason doesn't exactly make visiting every thread in the GCC his priority.

I... I can't....
My brain is going to explode....

Although I would like to know why IE8 freezes momentarily on some sites and doesn't load half its tabs for me, telling people to switch browsers is admittedly the best advice. I just hate when people tell it to you when you're looking for what's causing the problem.
