Post Important! Read THIS Before Making a Thread in This Section

Right, hope that the big text got your attention.

Now, I've been here for a while as you all know, and most of the questions and suggestions made in the Feedback, Suggestions and Questions section of the forums are constantly repeated over and over and over. This is a quick guide for people who are going to ask a question or make a suggestion to the forums. This applies mostly to questions, but it can apply to some suggestions. I'm not going to touch on feedback, because that rarely happens. These tips are also targeted at new members, although I suggest everyone read it anyway. Who knows, it may do you some good.

Before posting, these are a few things you should go over.
  • Has the question been asked before? Use the Search function. It's your friend. 99% of the time a question you may have has been asked before, so go look for the answer.
  • Is your question easily answered? Try to figure out something before you ask. There's a forum FAQ right there at the top of the screen for help on basic forum things and the rules explain most other things that will be useful.
  • Look at other people to figure things out. If you don't understand something that people are doing, then rather than yelling out, "omg i dunt no how too do this!!!1!", why not observe and use your brain to figure it out?
  • Check the Newbie's Guide to the Universe. Chances are your question is answered there.
  • You can also ask a Moderator or Administrator your question instead of posting a thread. Don't get to the point of pestering, but it's sometimes better to ask an experienced person like that. We aren't Staff because we're power-hungry elitist *******s who like torment members and push people around, after all.
  • When suggesting something, again, use the Search function. There have been tons of things discussed before. If you're new and have a "great, original idea", be sure to check to see if it's been brought up before, because chances are it has been already.
  • Speaking of newer members and suggestions, if you're one of them, you probably shouldn't suggest anything. Rather, get to know the community and how it works before saying, "can u instal bord hack ____?" or "giev normal membors acces to the staff forms?". It'll save you a lot of grief.

There, now those are my tips. Trust me, they'll come in handy when asking questions and making suggestions, so keep them in mind. If you can't find your answers then by all means post, but don't do so before looking. Mods and Admins, feel free to add your own (in a separate post) to my list as well if you're so inclined.
