ZU app?

Well, this is my first thread in a very long time, reason being that on my iTouch, the ZU site shows as mobile, and refuses to change to how it used to be for me, as a natural desktop viewing.
So, I have a suggestion: a ZU app for the iPhone/iPod touch. It could help many others like me, or just be entertaining.
Who else agrees?

I don't have an iPod Touch or iPhone, but I feel sorry for all those that do (which is probably most people), and I fully support the creation of a ZU App. The easier it is for everyone to view/visit ZU, the more people will come/visit, and the more fun/interesting ZU becomes.

Just like EzloSpirit I don't have an i______. So it wouldn't matter much to me, so I would say sure. Although if that means delaying a more benificial-for-all type thing I would have to say no.

Suggestion should get more attention and feedback here.

Huh. Doesn't really sound like its worth the effort to me.

It's not really worth the effort. You could just bookmark it in Safari. And I read that you can make a thumbnail on your main app page thing of any website for quick access, so really, I don't see the need for one.

This sounds like it would be a lot of work for basically minimal payoff. You also haven't explained exactly what you think the app should do-- just browse?

I doubt anyone is just going to up and design an app for this site. Doesn't seem like it's "important" enough.

Judging by the amount of garbage in the app store, probably not.

Why an app? Couldn't you just, you know, bookmark the site?

There is no chance of an app happening. We have a mobile version of ZU, and an app would be nothing but a portal to that. You're better off bookmarking it in Safari, like everyone else has said. If you add it to your home screen, there's a fancy ZU icon just for iPhone and iPod Touch that I made a long time ago.

All that aside, even if we WERE to make an app, or wanted to, there isn't anyone on ZU's team familiar with Objective-C. So it's not like we have the skills to make an app anyway.

Maybe someone should just add an edit button to the mobile version, and change it so you can view sub-forums. :P

The mobile skin actually HAs those things. They just don't work for some reason. They don't need to be added, but they need to work. And I didn't develop the skin, so I've got no idea what to do.

It'll all be moot with vb4 anyway when we'll need a new skin.
