Social group notifications

This has probably been asked already, but is there a way to receive notifications, or to at least have a "New posts" list, for my social groups that have new posts?

There is a way to have email notifications, but no way currently to have it in your user cp.

Hmm, I see.

That's a shame, I think I'd prefer having User CP notifications, rather than email notifications (I don't like my inbox being spammed when there are lots of posts! D: )

I agree. It'd be a nice feature to have.

As I said last time this came up (last week, I think), this is a feature that I'm fairly sure will be in the next major version of vB...which shouldn't be more than a couple of months.

Not like notifications, but you can subscribe to them like threads.

^ But they don't show up in your subscriptions-- you have to go to your user cp and scroll down to see them. They'd be a lot better off just showing up alongside regular threads in your subscriptions.

Depending on how many active threads you're subscribed to, you shouldn't have to scroll down.

Why does that change how unnecessary and inconvenient it is? So you have not post or subscribe much in order to see the social groups on the screen at the same time?

My point is, it can be much improved.

If there isn't some kind of combined thing like that in vB4, I'll see if I can cobble something together. No promises, though.

I'm not saying it can't, but for now we just have to deal with what we've got.

(I'm willing to bet that would help social groups be less useless. They almost always die out fast, and this would probably help them not to.)
