Annoying

(Excuse the title. I couldn't think of anything better for it. D<)

After clicking the button to log-in, it leads me to the logging-in screen, then to the index (you know, the little box with the "If your browser does not redirect you...." link). The problem starts here because it redirects me to the index, not logged in. The only solution to this problem is to click a board's name (General Discussion, Graphics, etc.); thus, leading me to that page, logged in. (Apparently, I'm horrible at explaining things.)

I find this annoying because the page with advertisements loads slower—and I logged in to avoid those altogether. Alas, I have tried clearing the cache, different browsers, etc.

I just realized the title would be so much better with ":<" in it.

Yeah, it does the same thing to me. I don't think it's a cookies problem, either. Annoying, yes, but seeing as I only log onto here now and then, I don't mind ;0)

I am also having problems with the logging-in-redirect. I have to click the "remember me" box in order to stay logged in. :l

This is a cache issue, your browser hasn't updated its saved copy of the homepage until you visit it more than once try hitting refresh once or twice to see if it shows you logged in then.

It still doesn't work. I have to log in and log back off several times and hope it works.

Happened to me for a while. Really, I just clicked the General Chit-Chat forum and problem solved.

Now that I think on it, the problem hasn't even happened in a while for me, which leads me to side with Derek on this particular issue, that it's all cache related.

This has been happening to me forever. I made a thread about it a long time ago and the help wasn't very helpful.

Nope. I tried five, six times.

I usually click into a board, but as I said, the forum's index loads slower with a hundred advertisements, which makes it hard to quickly click a board's name.

Why don't y'all just use remember me

It's happened to me on some computers but also won't log in if I go somewhere else and do it.

Hmm, I've never actually had this issue, myself. I don't use "remember me" either.

This isn't ZU's issue - as Derek mentioned, it's either a cache or a cookies problem. There's nothing funky going on on our server; we save auth data with cookies, not sessions, so if you're not being logged in then you've got a cookie issue.

Make sure you're not in Private Browsing or something.

Cache issues aren't always fixed by refreshing (that means hitting F5 or clicking refresh, not just visiting the page again)... sometimes you've gotta actually tell the browser to delete temporary files.
