chat ban

The chatroom says that I'm banned and I have no clue why. I tried to register, but it didn't work. Can anyone help me?

Well your banned propably because the people in there were being control freaks again and did it for no decent reason. The ban will probably lift in a week or so.

Bans in the chatroom usually don't last for more then ten minutes. They don't actually mean anything.

Yep, control freaks. We're totally out of control. Better stop us before we get out of hand!

Hopefully it will wear off in a week. I created a new account, went on, and it said I was banned. I had never even been in the chatroom before!

Weird. I got banned from IRC before I joined and then joined hoping the ban would be gone. But I love this place now.

Get used to it. I've been banned from the chat for over a week at a time. Know why? Me either. They just don't like me.

If it's +b, that just means you're banned.

Anyways, it's not a mibbit ban, so you must've done something ban-worthy. I'd say just wait a few days and try again. Or ask someone who actually knows the IRC commands to unban you.

IRC accounts are different then the forum accounts. You can't identify yourself with your forum password.

Mibbit is the IRC client that's on ZU. In other words, if you connect by clicking "IRC Chatroom", you're using Mibbit. What happens sometimes is that an op will ban someone incorrectly and it'll end up banning everyone on Mibbit. But that's not the case today, so it doesn't matter.

Anyways. There's nothing broken, it's just that someone apparently decided to ban you earlier. :/

You most likely got banned because you were doing something someone didn't like. Most common bans are due to causing a ruckus (though we usually like to watch a ruckus and egg on the rabble-rousers), talking about Zelda, or acting severely confused for a long time.
