Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
Anyway...
I just now finished up chapter 4. It's rather short though. I did make it longer than it was before, but not all that much longer. I just couldn't think of anymore to add to it. Enjoy. :] As Link began walking through the Kokiri Forest, he couldn’t believe his eyes. The village had been torn apart so badly, that it was as if the Kokiri were all killed in the act. Link’s somewhat calm facial expression from before had now turned to a frown of concern and decided to look for them. He was even concerned about Mido, despite the things he’d done and said to Link when he was a kid. Link never cared, though, because it didn’t matter at all to him. He always remembered what Saria told him after the first time Mido ever made fun of him: “Don’t let what he says get to you, Link. Mido bullies everyone. And as long as we’re friends, nothing he says should get in our way.” Now though, Link didn’t need to worry about Mido teasing or making fun of him again, because he knew Mido wouldn’t dare be mean to someone nearly twice his size. As Link walked by the remains of the houses and the fallen trees, he fended off the Stalchildren and kept an eye out for any signs of the Kokiri. If they weren’t dead, he wondered where they could be on account of the houses being half destroyed. He looked for any bodies under the trees and around the rubble of the destroyed parts of the houses, but found none. The only life Link could find to currently exist in the forest besides himself and Navi were monsters and more monsters. Chances seemed slim that the Kokiri weren’t even nearby at all. However, when Link was looking around what remained of the Kokiri shop, which only had half of its red roof and holes in the walls now, he saw part of the wall of the cliff behind it slightly budge. Thinking he was just seeing things, he attempted to take another step, but saw it happen again before he could go anywhere. Suddenly, a door-sized piece of the wall opened to reveal a secret room behind it, filled with Kokiri children. Link’s eyes grew wide. Every single Kokiri except Saria was standing in there, eyeing Link with curiosity. Mido was the first one to speak up. “Who’re you?” he asked. “A gut feeling tells me I know you.” “Hello, Mido. I believe you do know who I am,” Link replied with a smile. “Care to take a guess?” Mido fell silent to think for a minute. When he took note of the sword and shield that hung at Link’s back, he realized who might be standing before him. “You know my name? And own a sword and shield? You wouldn’t happen to be the Hero of Time, would you?” he cried. “You kinda match the description of him that I heard.” “That’s right,” he said. “I am indeed the Hero of Time, but not only that.” Mido gave Link another curious look. “Hm, now that I think about it, you do remind me of somebody else I know of,” he said. Mido then turned to the other Kokiri and said, “Doesn’t he, guys?” All the Kokiri looked at Link. They examined him as if he were some kind of stranger who’d just wandered into their hiding place. They walked around Link, obviously looking like he looked familiar to them. All of them seemed mostly focused on Link’s green Kokiri Tunic, which was only natural because it was the Kokiri garb. Eventually, though, the children stopped and concluded he did look like someone they knew. “Yeah…” a Kokiri girl standing directly behind Mido said. “I think he looks like Link. Remember him? That boy you always bullied more than the rest of us?” “Yeah, him. I always wondered where he’d gone off to since he first left the forest,” Mido agreed. Link gave a small chuckle. “Guys,” he said. “I am that boy!” Mido gaped in amazement. The other Kokiri did too, but they all remained silent. For how could this young man be Link? Wasn’t Link a Kokiri like themselves? It soon came back to them that Link originally had no fairy and was different from everyone else. The young man standing before them also wore the green Kokiri Tunic just as Link had as a kid. Mido didn’t find words until a few seconds later. “Whoa…is it really you, Link?!” he said. “You look so much bigger and stronger…” Link nodded. “That’s because I’m actually a Hylian, not a Kokiri,” he responded. “But I am Link. I’ve still got the Kokiri Tunic, the hat, and even Navi the fairy. The same fairy that was with me when I was a kid. Oh, and I can’t forget Saria. In fact, the notes of her song still play in my head every now and then.” Link then pulled out the Ocarina of Time and played Saria’s Song. The Kokiri all put great smiles on their faces, including Mido. “Link, it really is you!” a Kokiri boy cried. Everyone except Mido gathered around Link and hugged him. “I don’t know about Mido, but the rest of us missed you!” Link smiled as he felt a number of little pairs of arms around him. “Well, I kinda did too,” Mido said, scratching the back of his head. “I also feel kinda bad that I made fun of you, with you being such a hero and all now.” “It’s okay, Mido,” Link replied with a smile. “I never really cared that you did anyway. Besides, why would you try to mess with me the way I am now anyway?” At that, Link let out a chuckle. Mido had gone pink in the cheeks before responding. “…Thanks.” He then joined in on the group hug. After everybody let go of Link, he explained his situation involving finding Saria. He said to them that he had no clue to her whereabouts and thought they might know something. Mido said they didn’t know for sure where Saria was, but had an idea of where. Wondering where this place might be, Link had a strong feeling that it wasn’t a paradise. “We think she may have been taken to the Death Forest,” Mido explained. “No one’s been there for ages, but the evil around here seems to be coming from the direction of the forest’s entrance.” “Death Forest?” Link replied, giving Mido a blank look. Mido gave him a small nod. “It’s a dark, dead forest underneath this one. All the dead trees from here eventually end up there because of the Great Deku Tree’s magic,” Mido replied. “Even the Deku Trees themselves go there.” “I see,” Link commented. “How can I get to this Death Forest?” “Oh, the entrance is somewhere in the Lost Woods, but it’s been sealed up for ages now,” Mido replied. “But with all the bad guys around, it may have been opened. I suggest you check with the Great Deku Tree Sprout. Only he can tell you if there’s really something going on there.” “Okay,” Link said. “I’ll be back to check on you all later.” Link then left the secret cliff room and headed for the Great Deku Tree’s Meadow. He guessed that secret room was where the Kokiri all went to on emergencies such as half destroyed houses. Upon crossing the pond and arriving at the entrance to the meadow, Link fended off some more Stalchildren and entered. As he walked down the passageway, a light fog started to appear. Something’s not right here, Link thought. When he reached the meadow, Link saw to his dismay, the Great Deku Tree Sprout encased in thick, red ice. He knew that the only way to melt the ice was to use blue fire and if the sprout stayed that way long enough, he would suffocate and die. Since Link didn’t currently have any blue fire, he had to hurry and find some of it fast if he were to get the info he needed from the Great Deku Tree Sprout. With that, Link dashed out of the meadow at the greatest speed he could, wondering where he’d find blue fire in a place such as the forest. Link decided to head to the Lost Woods first. Remembering the place correctly, he refreshed his memory on the correct log tunnels that would lead him to another section of the woods. All of the other log tunnels took whoever went into them back to the entrance in the forest. When Link had stepped foot in the woods, another light fog appeared around him, giving Link some trouble in picking out the correct log tunnels. Link went along the route to the Sacred Forest Meadow, keeping a close eye and ear out for any danger. Eventually, he heard a fairly high-pitched cry for help in the distance. “Help! Somebody, heeeeeelp!” the voice squeaked. It sounded a lot like a Deku Scrub. Link followed the voice and it led him to the bridge that led to Hyrule Field. He saw a Deku Scrub at the other side of it being attacked by four Stalchildren. Soon, it noticed him and gasped. “You! Please help me! These Stalchildren won’t leave me alone!” it said. “I’m begging you! Heeeelp!” Link saw one of the Stalchildren grab the Deku Scrub by the snout. “Ow! Don’t just stand there! Do something!” the Deku Scrub shouted again. Link drew his sword and approached the bony creatures. One big charged up Spin Attack had been enough to destroy them both, and Link re-sheathed his blade once he was through. “Hey, that was neat!” it said. “Thanks!” “No problem,” Link replied. “Helping others is something I’m good at.” “Cool!” the Deku Scrub commented. “For saving me, I want to give you a treasure I found during my travels. Here, this is a special rod that can melt even the thickest red ice! I call it the Rod of Blue Flames.” The Deku Scrub handed Link a long, blue rod that was only a little shorter than the Master Sword he once used. At the front tip, it was a darker shade of blue, probably where the blue fire came out. “Wow…” Link replied. “A rod that can fire blue flames? Thanks!” “Yep! I hope it will be of some use to you,” the Deku Scrub said. “Well, see ya!” And with that, the Deku Scrub burrowed into its Deku Flower and disappeared. Knowing he finally found what he needed to save the Great Deku Tree Sprout, Link quickly headed back to the Great Deku Tree’s Meadow, making his way through all the fallen trees and rubble from the houses once more. When he arrived, he pulled out his new Rod of Blue Flames and fired it at the red ice surrounding the sprout. It melted instantly as the cool blue flames devoured the red ice. The Great Deku Tree Sprout stirred immediately after the ice was completely gone. “Uhhn…what’s going on?” the sprout asked. When it regained full consciousness, the Great Deku Tree Sprout suddenly realized who was standing before it. “Link?!” “Yeah, it’s me,” Link replied. “I don’t know what happened. I just wandered in earlier and found you covered in red ice.” “I see. I’m surprised I can remember you, though. I must be one of the few who can remember what had happened when Ganondorf had taken over,” The Great Deku Tree Sprout said. “Well, what brings you here?” “I’ve come about Saria’s disappearance,” Link explained. “Mido said she may be in the Death Forest, but only you can sense if anything is going on in there. Do you know if Saria is there?” “I see. Well, I do sense evil in there and that the seal on the forest’s entrance has been broken, but whether or not Saria is there, I do not know,” the Great Deku Tree Sprout replied. “Regardless, it’s best if you to look for her there. If she is there, she could be in great danger.” “Alright, where is the entrance to this forest located?” Link asked. “Mido said the Lost Woods, but…where in the Lost Woods?” “While I don’t know the exact location, I do know this. It is somewhere near the Sacred Forest Meadow’s entrance,” the Great Deku Tree Sprout told Link. “I strongly advise you to be careful, however. There are a deal more monsters appearing in those woods than out here.” “Thanks for the warning. I’ll go there right away,” Link stated and started out of the meadow. Once he was back in the village, Link starting making his way back up to the entrance to the Lost Woods. He climbed over fallen trees, walked through rubble from the houses, and climbed the vines growing on the cliff where the entrance was, fending off Stalchildren and Mad Scrubs in the process. One Stalchild knocked him off the vines once, but Link managed to fling a pair of arrows into it and climbed back up. A big one surprised him just near the entrance and made him stumble, causing him to lose his balance and fall to the ground. After getting rid of this new Stalchild via his sword, he entered the tunnel entrance into Lost Woods. Inside, Link made his way through the fog again and also took the route to the Sacred Forest Meadow once more. When he was there, he carefully scanned the areas around the meadow’s entrance for anything that might lead to the Death Forest. Just as Link had entered the area where the tall grass that contained the entrance to the forest stage was, he noticed a thicker mound of fog around the tree in the center of the area. He decided to check it out, thinking there was something very odd about it. Link slowly walked towards the fog in front of the tree and just when he was in the thick fog, he suddenly felt himself descend into the underground as if he’d stepped in a pitfall trap. Link screamed as he plunged down into the darkness below him. He landed flat on his stomach when he finally hit the ground, but ended up groaning as he slowly went to his feet from the impact. He looked at his surroundings. Blackened trees that bore no leaves were situated everywhere and more light fog covered the area. Monsters such as Stalchildren, Big Skulltulas, and Blue Bubbles roamed around and Keese flew about in the air. There were also rotted, black logs and dead plants on the ground. A doorway outlined with rotted vines could be seen in the distance on the other side of the room and was guarded by a Big Skulltula. Navi appeared to be creeped out, but Link wasn’t. He knew where they had to be. “Navi, I think we made it,” he said. “This must be the Death Forest.” “I don’t doubt you’re right,” Navi agreed. “But just look at this place…Ick, I’m almost frightened.” “Well, to be honest, I’m finding it to be really creepy and disturbing myself, but we’ll have to endure it if we’re going to save Saria.” “Yeah, I can’t argue with that.” As the end of this chapter says, the next one is a dungeon chapter. This shouldn't need much revision. People always told me I'm good at writing dungeons. xP

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
Aw, still no one says anything? Eh, I guess that's just how it is. xP
Chapter 5 is complete. Read on as Link goes through dungeon number one! Chapter 5: The Death Forest As Link started walking through the first room in the Death Forest, he fended off any Stalchildren that tried to attack him. He made his way through the chamber by climbing over and pushing away any rotted logs that were in his path as he made his way to the door at the other side. When the Big Skulltula plunged down in front of Link to keep him from progressing, Link simply ended its life with an arrow. Navi still looked like she was frightened, but Link didn’t blame her. The Death Forest was pretty scary-looking, after all. However, Link wasn’t going to let it scare him, as his determination to find Saria was much too high. Link was going to find his missing friend no matter what. Although it was rather dimly lit in the Death Forest, Link was still able to see his way around in the next room. After he had entered, he noticed another door outlined with rotted dead vines, but in addition, it had bars covering it. There was also an elevated platform in the corner of the room that had a switch surrounded in red ice on it. However, it was unreachable for Link at the moment because there was no way to climb up and there was no hookshot point to use his hookshot on. Although, there was another one of those dead black trees situated in the center of the room too. Noticing a pair of big Stalchildren sitting in it, Link rolled into the tree to knock them off. When they descended, they landed on the floor with a thud and then noticed Link. Unlike the other Stalchildren, who had been golden eyed like all the other monsters Link had seen so far, these were navy eyed. Link thought they might be tougher than the other Stalchildren, so he made sure he was ready for them. Making no delays, one attacked with its clawed hand and Link blocked with his shield, nearly stumbling from the impact. The other hit him upside the head with its hand from behind, knocking him to the floor. Only knocked out for a few seconds, Link got up and struck the second Stalchild in the neck with his sword, chopping off its head. It began to wander around like a blind man who’d lost his cane. After Link struck two more blows to the chest, the headless Stalchild was gone and the other one attempted once again to attack the young warrior. Just barely being able to dodge it, Link then drove his sword into the gut of the Stalchild twice. However, just as Link struck the second blow, the Stalchild attempted to charge at Link, but missed. Link then struck a third blow to the Stalchild’s back, which had then killed it. To Link’s pleasure, just after the second one died, a staircase formed in front of the elevated platform. Link had taken not of it, but didn’t move. Instead, he simply just stood there, rubbing the spot on his head that had been hit by the first Stalchild. “Oh, ow…” he groaned. “That really hurt. I can already feel a lump forming on my head.” “I bet,” Navi replied. “You nearly passed out on the floor.” “Yeah, I was hoping I wouldn’t go completely unconscious.” Link then walked up the stairs to the platform and pressed the switch. The door with the bars had now become accessible. Link walked down the stairs from the platform and entered the door. Inside, the room was quite big, indicating that it was most probably the main room of the entire dungeon. There were four other doors in the room, two with bars, one with a lock and chains, and the other was surrounded in red ice. There were more dead black trees and a flock of Keese, but Link decided it was best not to bother with them. Some were golden eyed while others were navy eyed. The room was also slightly hilly, with other doors higher up on the floor than others. Seeing no way to get through the doors with bars, Link went over to the door surrounded in red ice and fired the Rod of Blue Flames at it. Just as the ice gradually melted into practically nothing, however, two Keese dive-bombed Link and hit him in the back and neck. He turned around and whipped out his bow, firing arrows at them. After they’d been well taken care of, he went through the next door, greatly wondering what awaited him next. This room, looking more eventful than the previous one, also had Keese fluttering about, but this time, there were no Stalchildren. There were switchblades sliding rather slowly across the floor and spikes were arranged in four rows across the floor between rows of normal floor. The next door was logically at the other end of the room. “Wow, there’s a puzzler,” Link said after looking through his surroundings. “I don’t see any way to get across.” “Have you tried looking at the ceiling, Link?” Navi replied with a little laugh. “Huh?” Link said and then looked up at the ceiling. He saw hookshot points above each row of normal floor. “Oh. Hehe, didn’t see those.” Link pulled out his hookshot. “Be careful of those switchblades,” Navi warned. “I see them,” Link replied. When he thought the moment was right, Link fired the hookshot at the first hookshot point. He landed just when the switchblade passed by. Moving out of the switchblade’s path and sighing with relief, Link fired the hookshot at the second point. However, just when he was over the next row of normal floor, he forgot to let go of the hookshot point. Feeling nervous, Link sat dangling from his hookshot until it was safe to drop down. “That was close,” Link said after he landed. Moving out of the second switchblade’s path, he fired his hookshot at the third hookshot point and landed just as the third switchblade hit the wall. Just as he was about to fire the hookshot at the fourth hookshot point, a Keese suddenly dive-bombed him right in the back. Link jerked around and gave it a slice with his sword. After killing the Keese, Link fired the hookshot at the fourth hookshot point. Just as he reached the ceiling, however, another Keese hit him in the back and knocked him off. “AHHH!” Link yelped as he fell. “Ah!” Link landed on his stomach just next to the fourth switchblade’s path. “You alright, Link?” Navi asked. Link got up and brushed himself off. “Yeah, let’s just go before another Keese decides to hit me,” he replied, sounding rather frustrated. He went through the door. Inside, there was a blue switch on the other side of the room surrounded in red ice and a door to Link’s left with bars on it. A rotted black tree stood in the center of the room and there were two torches sitting in front of it. As Link was walking towards the switch to melt the red ice, a Stalfos, a bigger version of the Stalchild who wore armor and were armed with swords and shields, and two navy eyed Stalchildren appeared out of nowhere. The Stalfos bore big golden eyes. They slowly walked toward Link as the warrior drew his sword and shield. Deciding to take care of the Stalchildren first, Link charged toward the one to the Stalfos’s right. He swung the Great Fairy’s Sword at it, but missed, as the Stalchild jumped out of the way. The Stalchild then tried to smack him in the gut with its hand, but Link quickly backed up to dodge it and then landed a perfect thrust in the Stalchild’s gut. Pretty soon, the other one, looking angry that Link had hit the first one, charged toward him and tried to land a blow on his head. Link ducked and then landed a thrust on the second Stalchild. However, as Link was just about to swing his sword at it again, the Stalfos attempted a jump attack and Link had to back flip to evade injury that time. The Stalchildren then surrounded Link, looking as if they both wanted to attack him at the same time. That gave Link an idea and he began charging up magic power into his sword. Seconds later, he unleashed a fully charged spin attack. “HAAAAAAAAH!” Link yelled as he spun, getting somewhat dizzy. The spin attack killed both Stalchildren at the same time. Link then turned his attention to the Stalfos. Knowing by its golden eyes that it would be tougher than a normal Stalfos, Link was ready for it. The Stalfos swung its sword at Link, but he blocked it with his shield. Link stumbled backward from the impact, but was able to keep his footing. As he did, he gave the Stalfos a thrust of his blade in the gut twice. Angry, the Stalfos then tried to jump attack Link once more, almost hitting the young warrior. However, Link managed to roll out of the way just in time and land another slice to the Stalfos’s back afterward. Then, the Stalfos did something that Link had never seen a normal Stalfos do ever before. It side jumped behind Link and just as he was about to strike it again, the Stalfos stuck out one foot and tripped him, making Link land on his stomach. As he was slowly getting back on his feet and groaning from the pain, the Stalfos suddenly attempted another jump attack on him. However, Link ducked and made it miss, then formed another idea. He then jump attacked it back after he was back on his feet. Link then finished it off with two quick thrusts in the gut. Just after the Stalfos died, a large treasure chest appeared in front of the tree between the two torches and the bars on the door Link would go through next opened. Link went over to the chest and opened it to reveal the dungeon map. He looked it over immediately after plucking it from the chest. “Well, now that we have the map, we should be just fine the rest of the way through this weird place,” Link said. “Hopefully at the end, we’ll find Saria.” “Yeah,” Navi agreed. “I bet she’s being kept in the boss’s lair somewhere.” “That’s what I’m thinking too,” Link added. He rolled up the map and put it away. “Well, let’s keep moving,” he said. “Maybe soon, we’ll find a key for that one door back in the main room.” Link then went through the door. Inside, the room was small and there were no enemies in it. In the center on a slightly raised platform there was a small treasure chest encased in red ice. The walls had rotten black vines on them. Various dead plants decorated the floor. Thinking the chest might be holding the key he needed, Link took out the Rod of Blue Flames and fired its flames at it. The ice slowly melted, allowing Link to open the chest and find the shiny silver key he’d been hoping for. “Ha, I knew it!” Link exclaimed as he pulled out the little key. “Guess we’d better head back to the main room now,” Navi replied. Link turned around after she said this and went back through the door. He went back through the room where he got the map, used his hookshot to get back through the switchblade room, and then entered the main room once again. Link ran to the door that had the lock and chains and tried his key on it. It slid right through the keyhole and unlocked the door. He let himself right in immediately. During the next several rooms, Link met up with more Stalchildren, Keese, and Stalfos, while obtaining the compass in the process of defeating them. Using it, Link noticed there was supposed to be a treasure chest situated in the center of the main room, even though he never saw one there before. Thinking it would appear after he completed a certain task in there, he simply moved on. In one room, a switch Link had hit made bars on the door to the next room rise. He went through it and found himself back in the main room once more. However, just as he entered, all the doors in the room had bars suddenly lock them and the Keese that were flying about lined up in rows. In seconds, the entire rabble of them joined together to form a giant-sized Keese with one golden eye and one navy eye. Link stood there, his mouth hanging open in great shock. This was something he’d never seen or even imagined before. This new giant Keese was nearly twice his size. “Uh-oh…” he mumbled, still stunned. Suddenly, the giant Keese attempted a fast dive bomb at Link. He jumped out of the way to dodge it, only barely making it. “Whoa! This thing is fast!” Link exclaimed as he watched the Keese. “It’s going to exhaust me if I don’t do something quick. Navi, what do you think?” “Hmm…” Navi thought. The giant Keese attempted another dive bomb at Link, however, he ducked to dodge it this time. That instantly gave the white fairy an idea. “Hey, Link! Try making it fly into the wall and then attack it with your sword!” “…You know, that just might work!” Link agreed. He positioned himself in front of one of the walls of the room and waited for the giant Keese to try attacking him again. Soon enough, the Keese tried again to dive bomb Link, but he ducked once more and the Keese flew head first into the wall behind him. It fell to the ground. Confidently, Link ran over to it and drove his blade into it. Navi’s idea was indeed the strategy he needed. However, Link was only able to slice the giant Keese once before it suddenly turned around to face him. Since Link was still in front of the wall, the Keese nearly had him cornered. Just as the Keese was about to attack, Link did a forward roll between the Keese’s wings, as it was flying rather close to the floor. The Keese turned around again to face Link. It attempted another dive bomb, but since Link wasn’t standing in front of a wall this time, he lured the Keese to one. Again, Link ducked and the Keese flew head first into the wall opposite the one Link made it hit the first time. Again, Link struck the Keese with his sword. After repeating the process three more times, Link didn’t get out of the way in time after luring the Keese to another wall again and was rammed into it. He fell on top of the giant Keese’s head afterward, groaning from the pain. The Keese then started flying around the room, Link trying not to fall off after getting up. Just barely keeping his balance, Link, leaped off the Keese’s back and landed feet first on the floor, nearly falling over. Suddenly, the Keese attempted to dive bomb him and Link jumped out of the way, falling on the floor in the process. The Keese hit a corner of the room. Link quickly got up and jump attacked it. After quickly turning around to face Link again, the giant Keese tried once more to dive bomb Link, this time moving faster than usual. Link, still in front of the wall, tried to jump out of the way, but he wasn’t quick enough. The Keese hit his foot and rammed it into the wall, along with itself. Link tried to pull away, but ended up leaving his boot behind. Link then got up and struck the Keese with his sword. It suddenly screeched loudly and fell flat on the ground, finally destroyed. A large treasure chest appeared on the center hill of the room and the bars on the door that Link had not yet gone through opened. Soon after the giant Keese was gone, Link picked his boot up and checked it for any damage. “Good, no tears,” he said after he was done. “This is the only pair of boots I’ve got.” Link put his boot back on and walked over to the treasure chest, which was sitting on the little hill in the center of the room. “Well, this explains that treasure chest mark I saw in this spot on the map,” Link said. “It must be the dungeon’s main treasure,” Navi added. “Open it and see what it is.” Link nodded and opened the treasure chest. Inside, Link found a bow that was definitely larger than his old one. The tips of the handle were shaped like flames and were colored somewhat like real fire. The middle of the handle was blue in color and had small spike-like ridges that weren’t very sharp project from the inside and outside edges of the blue colored area. The rest of the bow was a light blue in color. It looked much nicer than his old bow, which was getting quite worn out due to over seven years of use. “Wow…” Link said as he admired the bow’s looks. “I wonder what kind of bow this is. I’ve never seen one like it before.” “Neither have I,” Navi added. “But this bow’s handle tips look similar to the guard of Kelli’s sword. I have a hunch she knows about this weapon too.” “Hey, that’s right,” Link agreed after recalling the appearance of Kelli’s mysterious-looking sword. “I’ll bet anything she’ll have some answers.” Putting the bow away, Link headed for the door that had unlocked after the giant Keese was defeated and let himself inside. Over the next few rooms, Link kept an eye out for a chest containing the boss key, which allowed him to enter the lair of the dungeon’s boss. He usually found one in each of the dungeons he explored during his past adventures in Termina and Hyrule and was bound to find them in the dungeons of this adventure too. Then he’d use the key on the locked door of the boss’s lair and engage in battle with said boss. He wondered what he was going to be up against this time, but in this forest, anything seemed possible. After going through rooms filled with more Stalchildren, Stalfos, and Keese, and more puzzles to solve, Link finally did spot the bright yellow and blue chest that held the much-needed boss key. It was situated at the other end of the room he was in on a platform that was separated from the one Link was on by a huge gap in the floor that went from one wall to his left to the other on his right. A lit torch sat on the floor near Link and another that was in a corresponding position sat on the platform where the chest was. This other torch wasn’t lit. A door was on the chest’s other side and it had bars on it. A rusty-looking eye switch was on the wall next to it. “Hm, I’ve seen this one before,” Link said to himself. He pulled out the bow he’d gotten earlier and shot an arrow through the lit torch. The flaming arrow hit the torch on the other side and lit it. White platforms that were nearly transparent appeared between the two platforms, giving Link a means of reaching the other side. “Thank you experience,” Link commented with a smile. He leaped across the platforms quickly just in case they were there only for a limited time. Once across, he opened the chest for the boss key and turned to the eye switch. He recalled having to use a heavy hammer known as the Megaton Hammer on rusted step switches back during his first Hyrule adventure, and wasn’t sure he could activate a rusted eye switch with normal arrows. “Navi, you don’t suppose the arrows of this bow can be strong enough to activate that eye switch, do you?” Link wondered. “It’s worth a try,” Navi replied. Link then readied an arrow on the bow and held it there for a couple seconds. Soon enough, the arrow powered up and started glowing whitish at the tip. Link gasped with pleasure. “Whoa! This ought to do it!” he said. He fired the arrow at the rusted eye switch. It activated and opened the bars on the door. Link wasted no time going through. As he went through the next few rooms, Link felt ready to face the boss. Considering how tough the challenges he’d had to face already were, he guessed the battle wasn’t going to be easy. Then again, Link’s faced many challenges that were even tougher, yet he was always ready for them and no matter how tough they were, he always managed to succeed in finishing them and come out alive and well. However, no matter how many times Link won his battles, it would never surely mean he will continue to consistently be victorious. When he finally spotted the door to the boss’s lair, Link’s heart began to pound with eagerness. However, there was a line of spikes sitting in front of it. Looking for someway to make them go down, Link scanned the walls and the floor for any switches. He eventually spotted another rusty eye switch just above the door to the boss’s lair. Link then readied an arrow on his bow, powered it up, and fired it at the switch. It activated, causing the spikes to retreat back inside the floor. Link then ran up to the door, unlocked it with the boss key, and entered. Inside, Link found himself standing at the edge of a very skinny platform. He tried to keep his balance, but instead, fell to the room below him. It was a very large room, just the fitting size for a dungeon boss’s lair. Every single wall had at least some dead vines on it while the floor once again had been populated with various forms of dead plants. Fallen dead tree logs were lying around as well. But at first, the only life that appeared to be inside this vast chamber was Link and Navi. “WAAAAAH!” Link screamed as he continued to fall. He hit the floor with a bang, landing directly on his stomach. He groaned from the pain as he stood up. Link’s eyes widened when he saw another life form standing in front of him. It was a giant skeleton that slightly resembled a Stalfos, except it had more armor and a huge, more powerful-looking sword. Its eyes were a bright golden. When it spotted the green-clothed hero below it, it jiggled its bones, stomped its feet on the floor, and let out a terrifying roar of some sort. It had to be at least four times Link’s height and by the looks of it, Link guessed it was probably just a bigger version of a Stalfos. In reality, this creature was Tamuda, the giant skeleton warrior and was not a Stalfos at all, but Link didn’t have that knowledge. Tamuda began the battle by trying to attack Link with his huge sword, but Link jumped out of the way fairly easily. Link scrutinized the creature for a weak point, but with all that armor, he couldn’t find any unguarded areas. Navi flew about, looking for a weak spot as well. However, it was not easy to find such a spot on this monster anyway, with Tamuda’s sword nearly hitting Link so much. “Gosh Navi, I can’t possibly attack this thing when it’s covered in all that armor!” Link called to his fairy friend. Navi had just flown around to Tamuda’s bony backside and then shifted her attention to Link. “Hold on! His back is unguarded!” she said. “Try attacking it there!” Link fell on the floor as he was dodging another attack. “It’s so high up there…well, then this new bow will come in handy once more!” he commented. “Those powered up arrows ought to do some good damage if you can land one,” Navi replied, flying back to him. Link nodded in agreement. Just as Tamuda tried attacking him again, Link rolled between his legs and ended up behind him. He fired a powered up arrow at the monster’s giant unguarded back. It inflicted plenty of damage due to the power, as Tamuda fell to the ground stunned after yelling out his roar. Link then ran up to him and thrusted his blade into Tamuda’s body several times. The arrows of that strange new bow were definitely a key to this victory. “Boy, am I glad I always find some new item when wandering through dungeons,” Link said after he was done. Suddenly, Tamuda got back up and turned his big bony face towards Link. He stomped his giant feet towards the young warrior. Link moved backwards until suddenly, Tamuda tried to attack once more with his massive blade. Link repeated his bow strategy again and this time, was able to inflict more damage with more sword strikes. Tamuda was going to be a piece of cake if Link kept this act up. Or so he thought… After Link had done the process four times, Tamuda decided to try attacking him another way. He stomped in front of Link, removed his head, and started throwing it around the room at the warrior, who was frantically moving as fast as he could to dodge the huge floating skull. As he did, he went deep into thought about a way to attack it. Then, he decided, despite its huge size compared to his shield, to block Tamuda’s skull. After it ran smack into the sturdy shield, the skull fell to the ground and Tamuda’s body came immediately to pick it up. Link then snuck around him and fired another powered arrow at Tamuda’s back as the monster was reattaching his head to his shoulders. Link then drove the Great Fairy’s Sword into the creature once more. Knowing now what he needed to do to finish off Tamuda, Link repeated his new strategy again four more times. However, just before Link was going to deliver the final blows, he tripped over Tamuda’s gigantic foot on the way and the creature attempted to kick him with said foot. Link, as quick as he was compared to Tamuda, easily evaded it and fired another powered arrow as fast as he could. Although it struck the targeted area only barely, Link scrambled to his feet and sliced Tamuda the last few times. The final blow had indeed been the very last one. Tamuda suddenly got up from the ground, shrieked terribly loudly and then fell back down, bones scattering everywhere. Link shielded his face with his hands for protection. Just as Tamuda had died, a door opened at the opposite end of the room from where Link had first come in. Desperate to find Saria, Link decided not to go through it until he found the green-haired Kokiri girl. He started looking, but couldn’t see anything but bones lying around on the floor. Suddenly, he heard a young feminine voice call out his name. “Link! Over here!” the voice called. Link recognized it as Saria’s voice, but where it was coming from, he couldn’t figure out. He scrutinized the room for her, but he still couldn’t trace her voice. Saria eventually called out to him once more. “Link! The wall!” she said. Link looked up at each of the walls. Sure enough, Saria was tied up to one of them by black rotted vines. Link quickly sprinted up to her and cut the vines with his sword. Since Saria was only around two feet or so above the floor, she could drop down easy. “Thanks, Link,” Saria said with a smile. “No problem,” Link replied, returning the smile. “Hey, what’s with all the Sages disappearing?” Saria sighed with great concern. “Well, it’s a rather long explanation, Link,” she replied. “You see, we were captured and imprisoned somewhere here in Hyrule. All I know is each of us had been taken somewhere either near their home or near the temples, just like I was.” “Okay,” Link said. “I’m also very curious about Zelda’s whereabouts. Her father told me she vanished as well.” “She’s being held in the highest tower of the castle,” Saria told him. “But if you want to rescue her, you’ll need six mystical gems. Only they can let you inside that evil place, as there is no way for you to get in now.” “And what are these gems?” Link asked. His great curiosity only grew. “They’re the Sage Gems. These jewels were used long ago by our ancestors, but for what purpose I’m not sure. However, I do know that they haven’t been touched in years,” Saria responded. “The Gem of Forest should be through that door.” Saria then pointed to the door that had opened after Tamuda died. “I see,” Link commented. “Anything else I should know right now?” “Yes,” Saria replied. “You’ll also need the two hidden powers that exist in Hyrule if you are to defeat the evil that has attacked the kingdom.” “What hidden powers?” “The powers of the sun and moon. The monsters whom possess the evil forms of these powers are what have corrupted Hyrule. I don’t know anymore about them than that,” Saria explained. “But there is one person who does. Kelli.” “Kelli? You know her?” he said. “Yep, all of us Sages do,” Saria replied, smiling once more. “Well, I’m going to go back to the village. Since you destroyed that skeleton thing, the evil has vanished from this Death Forest, so I should be fine. You go get the gem and I’ll meet you up there, ok?” Link nodded and watched Saria run off towards where he’d come in. The elevated door in which he had come through in the beginning had lowered to the floor somehow. Link decided to assume that it was because the forest had been returned to normal. Link walked through the open door after Saria vanished through the other one. Inside, the Gem of Forest sat on a little pedestal at the top of a small staircase that led up to a small platform on which the pedestal stood. The gem itself was shaped sort of like the symbol on a medallion Link once had called the Forest Medallion and was a bright green. It also had a slight glow to its odd shape. A bright blue portal also stood nearby the elevated platform. Link grabbed the gem and walked into the portal, returning to the surface from which he’d come.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
I'm reading it. I would comment, except I read it for enjoyment, and I don't pay attention to grammatical details. But I have noticed one thing: It's not in the chapter above a lot, but in a lot of the chapters you say constantly the Link fended of Stalchildren. Link fended of Stalchildren. Make it more interesting by putting a new way of saying it each time.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
It's been a couple months since I last updated this, but I finally decided to finish up the next chapter. It's kinda short compared to the others, but the ones after will be longer, I assure you.
![]() Landing next to the tree in the Lost Woods in which he first entered the Death Forest, Link began making his way back to the Kokiri Village. The first thing Link noticed was the fog had lifted from the Lost Woods. Hopefully, since the evil from the Death Forest and Lost Woods had vanished, the evil from the village vanished too. Link looked around the forest and village once he finally was outside the Lost Woods. Indeed it had returned to normal and with it, the houses were back to normal, the fallen trees were standing up again, and the fog from the Great Deku Tree’s Meadow had disappeared. Link was climbing down the vines nearby to the village when he heard Saria’s voice again. “Hey Link! Over here!” she called, waving her hand at Link. Link spotted her down by the pond that was in front of the village shop. He ran up to her as she shot him a friendly smile. “Hey, I want to say thanks,” she said. “You were brave back there.” It was Link’s turn to smile. “Hey, no problem,” he replied. “It’s good to see you again.” “Yeah, I’m glad you came back home,” Saria agreed. She smiled again. Suddenly, another voice could be heard in the distance. “Saria!” the voice called. It was Mido. “You’re alright!” He ran up to Link and Saria. “Yes, thanks to Link,” Saria replied, glancing at Link. “Oh, so Saria was down there, eh?” Mido said. “The rest of us were worried about the two of you.” “Yeah, we’re both fine now,” Link replied. He started to feel some pain in his head. “Although I think I’m starting to get a headache from being hit in the head earlier back there…” “Ick, you poor thing,” Saria commented. “Well, I hope it gets better.” “Me too. I’d better get going, though,” Link said. “Still friends, right?” Before answering, Saria threw her arms around Link’s waist and made her grip as tight as possible. Link, a bit startled at first, returned it with a smile. “You bet! Even if you are a man now!” Saria replied. “Bye, Link!” In a few more seconds, the two let one another go. “See you later,” Link fondly returned. “See ya!” Mido added. Link waved goodbye to both him and Saria and made his way back through the log tunnel that led back to Hyrule Field. Outside of the now peaceful forest, Epona was right near the entrance grazing on some grass. Just as he was about to mount her, Link suddenly remembered wanting to ask Kelli about the bow he found in the Death Forest. Really hoping she had the information he was looking for, Link pulled out the Ocarina of Time and raised it to his lips. Pretty soon, the mysterious notes of Kelli’s Song filled the air. Link waited for an answer when he was done. Seconds later, he could hear Kelli’s voice drain out all other sounds. “Link?” she said. “Is that you?” Kelli sounded a little frustrated. “Yeah,” Link replied. “…Are you alright?” “Huh? Oh, yes, I’m fine. It’s just that…I miss Judo so badly,” Kelli confessed. “I know I should be placing most of my focus on Hyrule’s problems right now, but I can’t help worrying about him so much.” “Ah, I know how you feel. I felt the same way about Navi before I found her,” Link replied. “I’d like to help you with your search in any way I can.” Kelli didn’t make a response for several seconds. “You…you mean that?” “Of course.” “Th-thank you, Link. You don’t know how much this means to me…” “Well, hey, I’m glad to help,” Link replied with comfort. “By the way, I originally played your song to ask you something, but I’ll come over there instead.” “Well, alright, but are you sure?” Kelli asked, knowing that Link still had Sages to find. “Absolutely. Besides, Kakariko is at the foot of Death Mountain and Death Mountain is where I’ll more than likely find Darunia,” Link explained. “After I rescued Saria, she said all the Sages have been imprisoned somewhere either near their home or near the temples.” “Well, you do have a point there,” Kelli replied with a slight chuckle. “I’ll see you soon then.” After Link made his goodbye, the two broke their conversation. Link turned Epona towards Kakariko Village and started on his way to pay a visit to his newest friend. It soon occurred to him, however, that he knew very little about Kelli, though he did just recently meet her. Still, Link thought she’d mention at least few things more about herself, other than being a warrior of Hyrule and having not seen a childhood best friend in years. Exactly who is this girl, Link thought, and what is her true purpose? This also brought questions to his mind about Judo, the apparently missing childhood best friend. Figuring they would all be answered when the time came, Link halted Epona in front of the stairs leading to Kakariko and dismounted her. He entered the village afterwards as prepared as ever for the questions he intended to ask Kelli. It didn’t take long for Link to spot Kelli once he set foot in the village. He saw her rather attractive figure sitting upon the well at the top of the set of stairs that sat straight ahead. As Link walked towards her, he realized that this girl not only had an attractive figure, but was also quite pretty in general. Her long blonde hair reached well past her back and flowed in the light breeze which was blowing peacefully through the village. A black head band sat in these golden locks, and as Link approached her, he noticed Kelli’s eyes were a bright teal blue, an eye color he had never seen before. Finally taking his mind off of the girl’s appearance, Link halted his walking. “Ah, Link. You arrived quicker than I thought you would,” Kelli said with a smile. “Well, I wasn’t far from Kakariko to begin with,” Link replied, chuckling a little. “Haha, excellent. Shall we start with what you wanted to ask me?” “Sure,” Link said. He then produced the bow he’d obtained in the Death Forest. “I found this bow while searching for Saria. Do you know anything about it? Such as why it has incredibly powerful arrows?” Kelli looked at the bow Link was holding. Her eyes widened with surprise, but she didn’t respond for a few moments until she closed her eyes and smiled. “…Link. I figured this moment would eventually come,” she finally replied. “What you hold is a Guardian’s Bow.” “A what?” Link wondered in confusion. “The Guardian’s Bow is a bow meant only to be used by those chosen to wield the legendary hidden powers, the guardians who hold the power to do so within,” Kelli explained. “One power is that of the sun, and the other is the power of the moon. When two heroes wield the legendary blades embedded with these powers, this magic of light and darkness come together to work as one. Thus, only two Guardian’s Bows exist.” “I see. How do you know this?” Link asked, eager to know more. “That…is simple. I am the Guardian of the Sun,” Kelli replied. “And I have the other Guardian’s Bow.” She then showed a bow that looked completely identical to Link’s. It was Link’s turn to be surprised. Before he could say anything more, however, Kelli withdrew her bow and then unsheathed her sword, showing Link a better view of its mysterious flame-like design. “And this sword that I wield…it is the legendary Blade of Sun’s Evil, the Sun Sword,” she said. “Does this mean that I…?” he started, still surprised. “Yes. You are to become the Guardian of the Moon, Link,” Kelli finished for him. “His majesty and I have been hoping you could take this task long before I met you.” Link just stood there with a surprising look on his face. He already was the Hero of Time, now he gets another title? Link just couldn’t believe what he was hearing. And he didn’t even know how he was supposed to become the guardian of anything or wield any new powers. He figured he must be one special person to be chosen for more than one large destiny. Now having many new questions on his mind, Link continued to stand there and awaited what Kelli would say next. “And in order to become the Guardian of the Moon, you must seek out the Blade of Moon’s Evil, the Moon Sword,” she went on. “Unfortunately, I haven’t a clue to its whereabouts.” “Well, then I’ll keep an eye out for any clues that might help me,” Link assured her. “…So, what are we going to do now? Have you found any new leads in your search?” “Sadly…no. Oh, Link, this feels so hopeless!” Kelli cried, trying hard not to let tears build up in her eyes. “What’s hopeless?” a deep voice behind Link asked. It was the King, who had overheard some of the conversation. Kelli went pink in the cheeks upon seeing him. “Oh, uh, n-nothing,” she stammered. The King simply gave a comforting smile. “It’s about young Judo, isn’t it?” he guessed. “I completely understand, but don’t give up. Judo has become a man of great promise. You two were childhood best friends, and as such he would never hesitate to leave enough clues to help you find him.” “But…I haven’t found anymore and I’ve looked and looked,” Kelli protested, hardly able to hold the tears back any longer. They slowly began to trickle down her cheeks once more. “Well then,” the King replied. “Perhaps that is a clue right there.” “I…don’t understand,” Kelli said with confusion. “Neither do I,” Link added. “You’ll know soon enough,” the King replied with a smile. “By the way, I meant to give these to you two after you rescued me, but I had forgotten.” With that, the King held out a large bundle of arrows bearing golden arrowheads. The arrowheads had a slight glow to them. Kelli’s eyes widened when she saw them, telling Link she must know what they are. “The Sun Arrows?!” she gasped. “Where…where did you find them?!” “Well, it was Zelda who found them, actually. She brought them to me afterwards,” the King explained. Link just stood there with a blank look on his face before saying anything. “Wait, back up. I’m guessing these do the same as the Sun Sword?” Link asked. Kelli nodded. “Correct,” she said. “The Sun Arrows allow you to use the Sun Sword’s power from a distance.” “Figured as much,” Link replied. “Oh Link. If you came hoping to find Darunia, I’m afraid your next search will have to be postponed,” the King reported. “The entrance to the mountain trail has somehow been completely blocked by boulders.” “…And right when I don’t have bombs anymore. Terrific,” Link groaned. “I suppose I have no choice but to help Kelli then, since I’m here.” “Well, then I wish you both luck,” the King said. He left the two alone immediately after. Things stayed silent for a few moments longer, until Kelli decided to speak. “Well, I say we should start with the graveyard. I haven’t done much poking around in there yet,” she suggested. “Besides, we might also find a clue to what caused the noises heard here last night.” “Noises?” Link wondered. “Yeah.” Kelli told Link the story of what happened the previous night, starting with the fairy ringing sound and then the shattering pot as well as Dampe’s claim to have heard flapping noises in the graveyard. “And that ringing sounded like Navi, you say?” Link asked. “That’s odd. She’s been with me the entire time.” “Exactly,” Kelli said. “I still don’t know the story behind all this.” “Well, then let’s try finding out,” Link proposed. “I’d also like to know a bit more about Judo while we’re investigating.” Kelli nodded in agreement as she and Link immediately traveled into the graveyard located in the back of the village. Before Kelli could begin giving details about Judo, however, Link asked about Dampe being alive and Kelli explained the reason behind that as well. The graveyard looked as peaceful as it always had been, and Dampe right now would be sleeping within his little hut next to the entrance. The bright sun blazed high in the blue sky as Link and Kelli endured the heat and began scavenging for clues while being careful not to cause any damage to the tombstones. The area wasn’t hard to search, seeing as there wasn’t much other than the graves and the inaccessible entrance to the Shadow Temple, which sat on a cliff at the very back of the graveyard. “So Kelli, what details can you give me about Judo?” Link asked. “Well, he’s kind and courageous. He’s also very funny and loves to tell jokes more than anyone else I know,” Kelli described. “As for a physical description, I really can’t say much since it’s been a long time, but I do remember adoring the style his light brown hair was in. He was also kind of tall for his age.” “I see. It shouldn’t be too hard to spot him then,” Link concluded. “You know, maybe we should use Dampe’s grave-digging tour later. He digs up all kinds of stuff with that shovel of his, so maybe he’ll find us a clue.” “Ah, yeah, good idea,” Kelli agreed. “It’s hard to find anything when you don’t know where to look, though.” “True, but what have we got to lose? It’s worth a try.” “Well, I won’t argue with that.” As the two continued scavenging the place, they walked around the Royal Family’s Tomb, the largest tomb in the graveyard, and hoped maybe something there would give some hints. After all, if Judo knew the King personally, then he must have ties to the Royal Family of Hyrule. Whatever those ties were, however, the two had no idea, which only made things difficult. Was Judo’s connection direct and close? Or was it more like Link’s, indirect and not real big? Thinking that question would not be answered for a good while, Link and Kelli simply went on with their investigation, moving away from the Royal Family’s Tomb to other areas of the graveyard. Link then suggested they take a look inside the Shadow Temple since he still knew how to get in, but Kelli decided it was too unlikely that they’d find anything in there. Just as they were going back to the normal tombstones, Link noticed something very out of the ordinary that had not been there before. “Hey…Kel, look up there. On that cliff,” he said, pointing to a little cliff that was partially surrounded by fence and was close to the graveyard entrance. Kelli turned her focus to where Link was pointing and noticed a cave entrance behind the random crate that sat up there. “A cave? That’s funny. It wasn’t there the last time I was here,” Kelli replied. “Things just keep getting weirder by the minute.” “I couldn’t agree more. Let’s check it out,” Link insisted. “Definitely.” With that, the two warriors raced over to the edge of the cliff which the cave sat upon, and Kelli motioned Link to give her a boost. She grabbed Link’s hands and aided his ascent afterwards. Upon both of them standing atop the ledge now, they immediately ventured into the apparently new cave. The inside of this cave, however, was unlike nothing the two heroes had ever seen before. Several doorways lined parts of the rocky walls, and an eerie presence could be felt in every portion of the room. It was like invisible ghosts were crowding the space, as if to be a large group of people lined up for something exciting. Yet, nothing could be seen except a few scattered Keese flapping their bat wings throughout the room. The cave sealed shut once Link and Kelli had set foot inside. “Something tells me this is no ordinary cave…” Kelli said with slight nervousness. “Something tells me you’re not wrong,” Link replied, feeling an equal amount coming to himself. They just stood there, not knowing at all what to do next.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
Why do people keep questioning where it's taking place? I specifically state clearly in the story that this is Link looking for Navi seven years AFTER MM. xP
Anyway, I thought it would have fit with the timeline, being a direct sequel to MM and all. But thanks! But what could I do to make it better if possible?

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
They sure seemed like they were falling in love to me. The way they gazed at each other while hovering in the sky at the ending? The way they let their hands keep touching one another's during the same scene? The way Link went to protect Zelda no matter what?
I thought they were going to freaking kiss in the end, I swear. Also, this is fiction. I can make them love each other if I damn well please.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
If I recall correctly, holding hands came about only as a result of Link giving her the Ocarina of Time. And if I remember right, that didn't last all that long.
And I'm sorry, but OoT Link showed hardly any emotion in that cutscene. You can't claim they were gzing lovingly into eachother's eyes.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Hidden Powers
That moment still lasted longer than it could have. And Zelda's sad expression indicated that she didn't want Link to leave her, meaning she could be in love with him.
Link looked a little nervous in that scene if you ask me. He'd never stood so close to a girl before, so I wasn't surprised. Just stop complaining. I support LinkxZelda for OoT/MM, so that's what I'm writing. You don't like it, too bad. I can write it if I damn well please, like I said before.

And this is one of the threads I really DO NOT want to get locked at all. I might actually be able to continue this story soon. Depends if I can come up with more ideas for the chapter I'm currently on. Stupid writer's block. It's always the mini dungeons and regular dungeons I get this on. xP
