Talking Mimsy's Character Sheet (Hylian Shield RP Character Companion) (My character-Mymich)

Name: Mimsy

Race: Skull Kid

Gender: Female

Age: 41

Goddess: Farore

Class: Agility

Weapons and Armor: Mimsy has a small blowgun/flute that is usually tucked inside her sash. It is a tannish red color and has been whittled from a deku stick. It's projectiles are darts made from one-inch-long-thorns and feathered with leaves. She carries the darts in a quiver-like pouch on her right hip.

She also carries a tanto in a brown scabbard on her left hip. The metal hilt is light blue with unusual characters engraved along it. The blade is one foot in length and looks as if it was crafted from a green crystal-like mineral.

Appearance: She is 3' 8" and has an almost skeletal build. Her skin resembles the wood of a Walnut tree. Her hair is a mixture of yellow and green that hangs down behind her. She has yellow eyes that are arch-shaped, giving her the apperance of always being content.

She wears a sleeveless jerkin coupled with baggy pants that were once the midnight-blue gi of a Sheikah who was a member of Michizane's squad. The jerkin has a red Sheikan eye on it's back. She doesn't wear shoes or gloves, but does wear a small chain pendant with a round yellow jewel set into metal butterfly wings (a fairy?).

Personality: She is very free-spirited and sees herself as a 'mother' figure to Mymich and Xandir, and seems to care a lot about them. She tends to stay out of melee range in battles, prefering to incapacitate enemies' hands with her darts before attacking with her tanto. She also sews the group's clothes, using the thorns she makes darts out of as sewing needles (obviously, Xandir exasperates her with the way he treats his clothes, which require constant repair.)

Out of the three, she is the voice of balance, trying to rein in Xandir's impulsiveness while still making the journey enjoyable.

Backstory: "Mimsy exists," that's all she will say if anyone asks her about her pre-life. A small fairy-shaped pendant is the only item, the only clue, she has about her past life. Most of the time she says she doesn't care, but in the darkness of night, she holds the small jewel against the moonlight, wondering.

Mimsy awoke one morning, not knowing who she was. She just knew that she was happy. She began to frolic in the forest when she encountered a small boy who had a small, shining something floating around him.

"Hello! Who are you, and what is that?" she asked, pointing at the ball of light, transfixed.

"I'm Timi, a Kokiri. And this is my gaurdian fairy, Knot," replied the boy.

"I have a necklace like her! See?" she exclaimed, holding out her pendant.

"That's nice," he said, looking at the pendant. "What's your name?"

"I... don't know..." she said, the impact of identity crisis finally sinking in.

"How about... Mimsy?"

"It sounds nice. What's that mean?"

"I don't know, but I know it's something you aren't."

Mimsy took the name, and it stuck.

***

Years later, she was wandering around the forest when she heard something she had never heard before...

"Oi, get those shovels moving! We have a war to win, and it's not going to be won without a little elbow grease!"

She clambered up a tree and looked with awe as she saw five Kokiri digging into the ground. These Kokiri weren't like the ones from the village, they were giant, and were wearing metal instead of cloth. Interested, she continued to watch as they placed some boxes into the hole they had dug, covered it with a board, and scattered some leaves over it. Was this some sort of game? She sincerely hoped so as the Big Kokiri ran off. She jumped down, removed the leaves, lifted the board, and climbed down the hole, giggling as she wondered what was in those boxes.

Once she reached the bottom she grabbed a box and climbed back out. Putting the box down five feet away from the hole, she placed the board back, but in her excitment forgot to cover the board in leaves. She climbed back up the same tree she spied those Big Kokiri from, and opened the box.

Inside was a pretty dagger, the blue hilt had words that she wasn't familiar with engraved along it and the blade looked like a green gem. She pocketed it and wondered why some big Kokiri would bury knives as pretty as these, and not share them with the village which didn't have any knives.

***

She waited three days, going back to check on the hiding place every few hours. On the fourth day, she returned and gasped at what she saw, the Big Kokiri were there, but they weren't Kokiri at all, they were-

"Stalfos," came a voice behind her, causing her to almost fall out of the tree.

"W-what?" Mimsy asked, regaining her composure.

"They're not here anymore," came the voice again. It was Timi, the same boy she met on the first day of her life. "Anybody who comes into the forest will be lost. Everybody will become a Stalfos. Everybody, Stalfos. So, they aren't here anymore...."

"D-does this happen to p-people l-like me?" Mimsy asked, tears showing in her eyes as she realized how grim the situation was.

Timi looked coldly into her eyes. "It already did. That's why you can live here."

"I-I am S-Stalfos?"

"No, you're a Skull Kid. Unlike them, the forest decided to adopt you as its own, instead of curse you like these fools."

"If this happens to everybody, I'll stop it!" she shouted in indignation. "I'll make sure it never happens again!"

"You try that," replied Timi. "It won't do you any good. Someone always enter these woods, and they always get lost."

***

She then spent the next week along the edge of the forest. At the end, she saw a group of six Big Kokiri enter the forest. These ones were different. They wore Clothes that made it harder to see them and had eyes the color of blood. Too nervous to confront them, she followed them as they made their way through. She heard snippets of conversation as they rested for the night; something about a 'hiding place'.

Realizing what they were after, she began screaming 'Go Back!' every few minutes, but the forest was so big that her voice was diminished. The three youngest seemed to have heard her pleas, but the oldest, who was wearing Blood-red garb over the same dark outfit as the rest chided them for their folly, falling for superstitions made by an enemy.

"Having fun?" came a voice behind her during the night just as she sent off another scream.

"Leave me alone, Timi," Mimsy sobbed. "Just... leave me alone."

"Okay, but don't say I didn't warn you..." he whispered as he vanished behind her.

***

It had come, the day she dreaded. She didn't dare scream again, it was pointless. She just followed them as they made their way and broke down in tears as soon as she heard it.

"STALFOS!"

She looked up as a scream of pain echoed through her head. The leader of the six had been run through the gut as he hacked and slashed at a Stalfos. In another place, one of the six had cut off another Stalfos' head, only to be returned in kind by the Stalfos behind him. The bloodshed was too much for her, and she went berserk. Running into the fray, she sliced at the Stalfos' legs and hid.

She had helped, but it was only just enough. Only one of the six wasn't dead by the time it was over, and it was the leader. He slowly stood up, and staggered as he made his way out of the forest. As he walked, Mimsy noticed that his clothes got damper; he was dying. Tears sprung to his red eyes, he seemed to know it as well. But as he cried, a song began to pass through his lips.

Fear me not, weep for me not;
Life's but a passing dream.
All that begins, has an ending
Like the journey of a stream.
To die; there is no shame.
Without honor, I'm to blame,
I've led my charges astray.
Dishonored my father,
I've shamed my mother,
So let me die, I pray.

As soon as the dirge was over, the leader, his wish granted, fell...

***

Mimsy ran up to the fallen warrior, and gently removed his mask. He was handsome with the look of youth, he couldn't be much older looking than Timi. His silver hair, wild and untameable, gave him a look of wild nobility. His red eyes, still open, still streaming tears of sorrow, looked through her, almost as if conscious of her existence. She closed his eyes and began to weep again.

"Please, be lost. Please... be lost... So I might find you again..."

She went back to the hiding place, and after taking some cloth from one of the fallen, so it might be used anew, buried the five in the hole they were looking for. After placing the board back over the hole, she took the Stalfos bones and placed them on top as a grave marker.

As the days went by, she returned to the fallen leader. She would gently wash his face with a small cloth she carried, talking to him like a gardener would his most prized flowers, and go back to the cave she'd made her home. One day, she went to the leader's body, only to find it wrapped in vines like a cocoon. She was overjoyed, the boy had become lost, and the forest was adopting him as its own...

***

She still visited the vine cocoon each day, watching and waiting. Some days she would water it, on others she would sing the dirge. Until finally the vines receded, showing a much smaller boy in the same clothing. His skin had become wooden, and his nose and mouth had merged to become a beak, but he still had the same hair, the same all-seeing red eyes.

She stayed her distance, hiding behind a bush as he finally came to. He sat up, and began to look around..

"Calming," he said. He stood up, watching as the now overlarge outfit started to slip from his wooden body.

"Who're you?" asked Mimsy, still hiding.

"Who're you?" parroted the boy.

"Nuh-uh, I asked you first!" returned Mimsy. This was fun.

"Nuh-uh, I asked you first!" again, the boy parroted what she said.

"Is that ALL you can do, mimic others?" asked Mimsy as she walked into view.

"Is that ALL- Hey!" the boy said, finally understanding.

"So, what's your name?" Mimsy asked. "Mine's Mimsy!"

"I... have a name..?"

"Don't tell me you forgot your name!" giggled Mimsy. "Well, you seem to like mimicking others, so how about 'Mimic'?"

"My name is... My... mic?"

"Mymich it is!" Mimsy exclaimed as she started into a new fit of giggles. Mymich watched for several seconds, and laughed as well.
