Well here it is. Will edit this later once I find a nice title.
Part One
Her tears were like daggers piercing my heart, as each one fell to the ground another quick stab. She had the most beautiful blonde hair in all of Hyrule; her blue eyes were like Lake Hylia in the summer. Then there was her smile. That smile that could light up any dark passage, brings a smile to a face that has forgotten what one was. Then there was what she held so dearly in her arms. Bundled in a light blue blanket was a small baby boy. Who appears blessed with his mothers looks in all its greatness? He was oblivious to the world around him, except for his mother and me. He looked up at me with those eyes of his. They looked just like his mothers, but somewhere deep within them he could see greatness; some hidden power that would alter the very course of time. It was this sense of greatness about the boy that forced my hand. I made preparations for the both of them to escape into the Lost Woods, no more than a two day travel by foot, but by horse one could reach it within a day. I had made arrangements at Talon's Ranch so that I could borrow one of their finest horses, Epona. Waiting for them would be a Kokiri named Mido. I was at first very reluctant to put them in his care. Although I knew he had no ill intentions. He did not seem to be the nicest person.
"Please you must," I said desperately.
"Please, come with us! We can escape this war, all of us!" she begged and pleaded. Her eyes welled with more tears. They ran down her silk smooth skin and fall onto the ground.
"We have been over this, I am a Knight." I began, "Therefore it is my duty to fight."
"What about us? Do you not love us?" Her question stung me like bitter poison. I knew that no sword; no matter how wicked its blade, could ever hurt me as much. She saw my hurt expression. "I’m sorry, I didn't mean..."
"I know my love, but please you must hurry!" I said, accepting the apology fully. "Remember, Mido may look like a mere boy, but he's not. You must trust him." I then looked at my son, for what could only be the last time. He reached with his arm up and made a waving movement. At first I was curious, and then I was baffled. Just barely I could see a fairy. By my judgment it was just a newborn. Fairies are truly interesting. I knew they were born to Kokiri, yet my son wax not Kokiri. What could this mean?
I stood there in the open field watching my wife and son gallop into the sunset. I mounted my steed and began to race in the opposite direction towards the castle. My eyes stung with tears and became blurry, but I knew the land like I knew my wife, intimately. I had traveled Hyrule when he was younger and explored is vast secrets. He also trusted his horse, which he had since he was a young teenager.
I reached the castle's walls within an hour. Wondering how long the walls will stand once the battle begins, I brought my horse to the steeds. An uprising had started in the South West. It was mostly creatures that were too dangerous to let roam freely within Hyrule Fields. So they had been banished into the wilderness surrounding Hyrule. Since then, there had been little to no conflict between them. They were content where they were, and the citizens were safe. In recent years someone or something had been rallying them up. Soon it became almost common for scouts of these creatures to wander within the boundaries of Hyrule. Often time scouts would report back with news that they are getting larger.
It had been a week ago that such a scouting had occurred. They reported a formidable army marching toward Hyrule Castle. At the rate it would take a few days if they didn't stop. A few days later the first true casualties of the war happened. They had attacked two small towns.
Now everyone huddled within the Castle wall waiting. I had a feeling that the walls would fall, which is why I made preparations to send my family away.
"Captain where have you been?" a large person shouted.
"I was seeing to something personal" I responded. The person was large and wore full armor. "How long until the battle begins?"
The man sighed, "They think within the next hour."
A very uneventful hour passed. I had busied myself with preparing the soldiers, seeing the faces of those who will lose family and friends were something I could not bare. Then the shouting began.
"They are within sight!" Shouted one of the guards, "The rumors are true!"
Fear overcame all of us at the thought. We all hoped the rumors were just exaggerations, but if it was true this could be the fall of Hyrule. I clutched the hilt of my sword and swore loudly. "Archers, get in position!" I began barking out orders. If Hyrule were to fall this day, then it shall be written with our enemy’s blood that we went out with a roar!
. Soldiers proudly walked into the field before the castle walls led by me. Archers began to find positions on the wall. Within ten minutes everyone was prepared and ready. Looking to the south I could see the army, and it was incredible. Stalfos were marching along side Lizardfos, and wolfos.. Rogue men and women were also marching. In the distance, I could hear the roaring of Dodongo’s. Redeads slowly marched with a limp towards us. The one enemy I would never forget was the Darknut leading them on.
Darknut’s were a powerful race. Physically they were humanoid. The only true difference between the race of Darknut’s and Hylians were their gigantic size. They towered at a staggering seven and a half feet, and could obtain muscles as hard as rock. They typically wore armor that would crush any Hylian. If one manages to destroy the first set of armor, they would encounter a thick set of chain-mail and a deadly blade. They moved slower then most, but one hit was all they needed.
I knew he was going to be my opponent once the battle commenced. None of my underlings could begin to fathom what it took to take on a Darknut. I brought out my own sword, which looked flimsy compared to the Darknuts own weapon.
"Archers, get ready to fire on my command." I shouted as I watched the army march forward. Then they were in range, "Fire!"
