Prologue

The booming Outset Island was all but ready for midnight. The Hero festival would begin at the strike of the new day. All to celebrate the mysterious hero who sealed Ganon away many years ago.

Lawliet, Zackary, and Valor were the bearers of the Himora name. Lawliet was the youngest, though he was a genius. He could solve any math equation or riddle in one forth of the time a top scholar could. On his head was messy black hair with bangs that scraped his nose. Even though he was only ten years old, he was very sensitive and observant. He seemed to never miss a thing. His flaw is that he wasn’t very social. He preferred being alone above everything else.

Zackary was thirteen years old, and probably the most arrogant. He wore dirty blond, almost brown, hair with bangs that covered his eyes. Zack seemed to always act before he thought, and it always got him in trouble. Though he is often half-minded, his physical strength makes up for it! And, of course, Valor. Valor was fifteen, and he was cool, plain and simple. He chose not to talk much. He wasn’t as smart as Lawliet, though he was smarter than Zack. His hair was a nice, refreshing shade of black.

Lawliet was in his silent room, alone, reading Taken with the Gust. Valor was decorating the house with the boy's mother, Lynn. And Zack was at the beach with the love of his life, Sakyara Erudu. The rest of the town was decorating, practicing their performances, and doing anything else that would help make the very same night perfect. And that’s when it came.

“Doken Nala desu Persical,” hissed the cloaked man. He chanted this deviant incantation from atop the mountain on the island overlooking the village. Tonight was the night that all the pieces fell into place. He would get his vengeance. He jerked his body around, leaving his black cape float in the air for a split second before he wrenched it away with him. The mysterious man batted his eyes shut before vanishing with the passing drift of salty wind. It had begun.
