The Legend of Zelda: The Lost Chronicles
This story is about Link a few years after Majora's Mask. He is now fourteen. A small backstory is that Link is reunited with Navi. Needless to say they almost immediately get caught up in some adventure. Zelda needs the three Spiritual Stones because when united, they can allow a person to perform a spell that will awaken the memories of the Sages so that they know what happened during the Imprisoning War (OoT), although she forgets to tell him what she needs them for. Naturally, she asks Link to do the job. Link goes around and does everything he does in the beginning of OoT (remember, in his new world he hasn't done it yet, but everything that happens in the Young Link part of the game happens to him. It will have characters from Oot. TP character installation cancelled due to complication issues and useless extra almost exlcusivly dialogue chapters which I already have too many of.
And now... It begins: Twilight…” He said to himself. “Fantastic… The last time I will see the light of day for the rest of my life will be the red-orange gloom of twilight.” Ganondorf was being taken down a seemingly endless set of stairs leading into the Arbiter’s Dungeon. The Prison of Hell. Only this morning he was in Hyrule Castle about to ‘swear his loyalty” to the king… He should have killed the princess while she was alone with the boy in the Kokiri tunic. He never even got to the Sacred Realm… Ultimate Power…Triforce… It had slid out of his fingers like sand. All that was left was the deathly prison where the only two events that could happen to you were that you literally died from utter despair, or that you were banished from this world into another realm which only the ‘most wicked had ever seen.” He noticed that all of the moans he could hear came from behind what he had thought to be walls. The prison doors were made of stone. He was lead deeper and deeper into the dungeon and finally into a room in which he would spend the rest of his life. And suddenly, he saw his opportunity. The prison guard had turned away for only three seconds. The last thing he ever felt was a stomach turning snapping that he felt all around his neck. Ganondorf rushed through the dungeon. He heard moaning coming from behind every wall. He could easily spring his fellow prisoners out of their cells, but he didn’t care. He was getting out of this damned prison. He entered the next room and groaned. It was a dead end. Then he noticed that there was a large, beautifully crafted, and engraved sword struck upright into the floor of the room, suspended by wires. It looked like it had been made by fairies, but it was of a dull ebon colour and the insides of the engravings were stained in blood. Fairies were usually more upbeat in their craft, and this weapon seemed far too morbid to be one of theirs. He was about to pick it up when he noticed that the wires were covered in large strips of parchment. There were strange symbols all over them. Then he read what was engraved on the sword: Sword of the Dragon’s Ghost. He cut one of the wires and he heard a pitiful growl. A baby dragon appeared out from a hole in the wall. It was serpentine with bright red scales and a black carapace over its face that looked like a helmet. It also floated in the air, although it lacked wings. He reattached the wire and the dragon started to go away. Ganondorf caught its tail and threw it in his pack. His jailers were stupid enough not to notice it. “Is that sword supposed to preserve your spirit after you die?” he asked the new resident of the bag. There was no reply. “I thought that you would be a bit more intelligent. I also would think that you would be strong enough to tear out of this bag. I must be wrong.” He decided that he would sell it at the Castle Town market. “Cheap because it’s worthless”, he thought, “And if that sword does preserve him, his master will be tortured.” He left and ran down the next hallway. He found himself in a circular room filled with sand. He saw a closed gate in front of him. “You won’t trap me!!!” he screamed. He jumped up nearly halfway up the gate, climbed to the top, and smashed the bars with his gloved fists. The gate collapsed entirely. He breathed fresh air coming from outside. He grabbed a torch as he ran outside. If it was twilight when he was brought in, it would surely be midnight by now. * * * * * Ganondorf had only been outside for a moment. There was a flash of light, and his torch went out. Then he heard the thunder. He was caught in a storm. “First rain that the desert has gotten in years…” he mumbled. Looking around, he saw that he was on a featureless balcony except for a tall staircase leading up from where he stood. He looked over the side and saw that he was nearly a mile away from the entrance of the prison. He dug into his pack for a rope. He wanted to get down from here. His prized possessions were surely outside the entrance. He pulled out the baby dragon. He stuffed the dragon back into the bag and it bit him. “Dammit”, he swore. He continued to rummage around in the bag and finally pulled out a rope. His hand ached from the bite, but he could manage with an aching hand without any effort. He tied the rope to a pillar and threw the rest down the side of the balcony. He climbed down and ran to the entrance. His sword and sheath were there but none of his other equipment was anywhere in sight. He sheathed his sword, strapped to his hip, and began hunting for his weapons around the vicinity of the entrance. After searching the immediate area all he found was a dead lemming. There was a gust of wind and he thought he saw something move behind a boulder near one of the cliff faces. He punched the boulder, shattering it, and he heard something squeal. He looked down and saw what the source of the movement was: A warthog had just gotten its nose impaled by a shard of the boulder. Shoving it out of the way, he saw a small gap right at the bottom of the cliff. He saw something glint as another bolt of lightning flashed. He reached under the rock face and looked at what he found: “A dead kargorok…?” he said. Then he noticed what was so odd about what he had found. “Well… a dead kargorok’s head, but nothing else.” The kargorok’s beak limply snapped off randomly revealing a single rupee. He groaned and decided to look for his equipment back at the top. He climbed back up the rope. He grabbed hold of the edge of the balcony as his captive dragon bit through the rope and it all fell to ground. He punched the dragon in the head and threw its unconscious body back inside his bag. He walked up the stairs and he realized where he was. The Desert Colossus was a lot smaller when he looked at it from the inside. He looked at the tower in the center of the arena. “My property had better be up there”, he said to himself. He climbed up to the top of the stands encircling the arena and noticed a ledge where he figured he would be able to jump onto the top of the tower. He jumped, caught the edge of the tower, and pulled himself up. The top of the tower was empty – except for a mirror. He looked away from the mirror and he saw what faced it. A colossal black rock was hanging in the air by magic. He looked back at the mirror and read an inscription at the mirror’s base. The Mirror of Twilight. He looked up. The mirror suddenly began to glow with a golden light. And then he saw it. He saw the Triforce in the mirror’s reflection. He turned around and saw that the black rock was glowing, but there was no Triforce. The mirror was not reflecting anything. Rather, it was shining a light against the black rock. He stepped away, and the mirror’s light hit the rock. The image of the Triforce hit the rock. It was framed by several other triangles spinning around it, which were framed by a circle. This was a portal to the Sacred Realm and the prison executioners thought it was a gateway to the Underworld! He began to laugh uncontrollably. “Fools!” He shouted at the top of his lungs. Still laughing, he jumped towards the rock and was sucked into the portal. * * * * * Ganondorf found himself lying on the ground of the Sacred Realm. He was suddenly in excruciating pain. Despite the pain he looked up. The Triforce was nowhere to be seen. He screamed in frustration. It almost sounded inhuman. He suddenly felt a pulsing feeling in his left hand. What he saw made him ecstatic. The Triforce was glowing in his left hand! It turned red for an instant and then changed back to gold. The pain suddenly doubled and he screamed that inhuman scream again. He doubled back and his hands slammed back down again. His hair began to frizz out in all directions and his body began to swell up. His fingers sprouted claws and his muscles swelled up. He screamed one last time. It turned into a roar. The pain finally stopped and Ganon got up. He looked at his reflection in the water. His face was that of a wild boar. He tried to scream but he roared instead. He lumbered around until he found the portal. He charged back through it. * * * * * Ganon was spat out of the Golden Realm and hurled out of the Colossus. He landed on top of Gerudo Mesa. He suddenly realized that he was human again. The dragon was squirming around in his bag. “I’ll have to get rid of this nuisance before heading back to the tribe.” He muttered to himself. He found his horse, Nightmare, waiting for him at the bottom of the cliff face. Ebon black, with fiery red mane, she would most likely have terrified anyone else. He took one more look at the Colossus, and sped off towards Castle Town. I am dutifully bound by law to inform that many or all characters, places and other things in this story are property of Nintendo.

Castle Town Centre Link was already able to see Castle Town. It was hard to miss seeing as Hyrule Castle was half the size of Death Mountain. ‘What did you think of Zora’s Domain, Navi?’ He asked, looking up at his fairy companion. ‘This isn’t a vacation Link!’ The fairy shouted, ‘Why do you treat it like one?’ ‘I don’t! Don’t worry, Navi. We’re just going to Castle Town to give the three Spiritual Stones to Zelda.’ Link was beginning to worry about his fairy. Navi had been losing her temper very easily lately. ‘Oh, by the way, when we get there, remind me to buy some food for the walk back home.’ They could see the town’s front gates ahead of them. It would take about ten more minutes to get there. ‘OK, but we won’t be able to buy very much with only 70 rupees. You should have taken King Zora’s reward.’ ‘We’ll be able to buy as much as we need’, said Link, ‘That’s all that matters.’ As he said this, he failed to notice the cloaked figure on a black horse dashing towards the town gates. By the time they turned back to face the gates the horse was tethered and the rider was gone. As Link passed through the gates he got a strange feeling that he recognized the horse, but he couldn’t think of where he could have seen one like it, and it shared no resemblance to Epona, so it couldn’t be because of her. ‘Best not to think about this right now’, Link mumbled to himself. And with that, he strode into Castle Town. * * * * * Ganondorf was setting up a simple stall in the market. He kept his face hidden under the cloak however. If he was caught here, he would have a lot of trouble. He pulled the dragon out of the bag, went behind a wall with a steel fence perpendicular to it, tore off some of the bars, and fashioned a makeshift cage. At that moment the dragon woke up and nearly escaped. He grabbed its tail like before and threw it into the cage. He went back to his stall and waited for a customer. He waited, and waited, and then he realized he had forgotten to put a price on it. ‘Stupid mistake’, he muttered. 70 rupees should do it. And whoever bought this wretched curse would have a hard time on their hands if they bought it. But they would be too late to catch him by then. He would be long gone… * * * * * ‘Link, you did it! You have the three Spiritual Stones!’ shouted Zelda. ‘Did you think I would have any trouble?’ asked Link. ‘But you did’, said Navi. ‘So what’, Link retorted before getting back to the princess, ‘So Zelda, what happened to Ganondorf?’ ‘He was sent to Arbiter’s Dungeon’ Zelda said cheerfully, ‘It’s known as the Prison of Hell. Suitable for him don’t you think?’ ‘Absolutely’, said Link. Link frowned. It suddenly didn’t feel as good to be around Zelda as it used to be. He thought he was in love with her. He was, wasn’t he? He decided to sort it out over the next week, which he would be spending in Castle Town. ‘Link, why are you so quiet all of a sudden?’ Zelda asked worriedly, ‘You were so much more talkative the last time we saw each other.’ ‘I don’t think I’m feeling very well’, said Link, looking up at the slowly darkening sky. ‘I’ll probably feel better tomorrow. I should go back to the inn. I get a free stay if I get there before the next hour, and Navi has been very concerned about my money problems. Link arrived at the inn right on time. A bell on the town clock chimed eight times the moment he was given his free room. Suddenly, Navi started shouting ecstatically. ‘Link! Link!! Look what I found!’ she cheered. She held up a purple rupee. ‘I don’t know about you, but I’m getting hungry. Could you get a bowl of rice for me?’ ‘Sure!’ said Link, who was immediately cheered up by the good news, ‘I need to get something for myself though.’ Link was walking through the market. He found a pastry stall and couldn’t resist buying half-a-dozen chocolate rolls. Fortunately, they only cost him 1 rupee each. He also got a loaf of bread for 4 rupees. The last thing he bought was the bowl of rice for Navi. Only then did he realize that the price was 40 rupees! ‘You cheap, avaricious scumbag!’ shouted Link, ‘If this isn’t really good rice you’ll have the royal family to deal with!’ Ten seconds after he had left the rice stall did he realize how ridiculous he had sounded. On his way out of the market, Link saw a shadowy stall with a makeshift cage on the table. He went up and saw a little red dragon staring at him with puppy dog eyes. ‘70 rupees’, growled the cloaked figure manning the stall. Link knew that Navi would be angry with him for wasting all of the little money that they had, but he couldn’t just leave the little dragon here in this cage. He thought of the food that he would need to get back home, but then he looked back at the dragon, which was looking at him more and more forlornly. ‘70 rupees kid, don’t just stand there all day!’ snarled the cloaked man. Link took out his wallet and poured every last rupee inside it onto the table. A dark skinned hand reached out of the cloak and snatched up the money. Link took the cage and ran. ‘I can see why you wanted to get away from there’, said Link to the little dragon, ‘That guy gave me the creeps.’ * * * * * Ganondorf dumped the lumber that he had stolen to make the shop off the side of the wall separating Castle Town from Hyrule Field. And it suddenly hit him. ‘The boy who I sold that dragon to was that Kokiri boy who had helped get me imprisoned in the Arbiter’s Dungeon!’ Ganondorf snarled. He could barely contain his rage, ‘Well, not exactly. After all, I had escaped very easily. But still. Now, if I ever show my face in Hyrule again I’ll be apprehended.’ Ganondorf snarled. ‘I missed a perfect chance to kill him!’ He would not let anything like this happen again.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Lost Chronicles
I am posting way too many useless things here.
I've stopped writing the story. I really have to get back to it. I've got a few tests coming up and then I'M BACK!!! Maybe even sooner ! You know what? To make sure it's easier to read I'm going to color all of the titles.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Lost Chronicles
Question: If this is after MM, does Link still have all of his transfomation masks? Just wondering. If it comes up later in the story, just tell me. Don't have to give anything away.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: The Lost Chronicles
Draconic, just finished reading the first 2 chapters. Thanx for bringing this story to my attention. It's hard to decide on the many great fan-fics here to actually read through. You're writing style and grammar are top-notch! I'm always hesitant to read big posts in fan0fics but once i started reading it felt like a breeze all the way through.
Ganondorf's escape was brilliantly done and you really know your locations and decriptions to really make them stand out and put your characters in place. Hope you get chapter 3 up soon. ![]()

Note to readers: The dragon cannot speak. The words in double quotations are just its thoughts.
Not Just a Pet YOU WHAT!!!!” shouted Navi. “I HAD TO! I couldn’t just leave him there”, Link said. The dragon growled in a way that Link understood to be confusion. “Look, Navi. I’ll just go catch some fish to eat at Lake Hylia. Problem solved”, said Link, grinning nervously. They left Castle Town and headed into Hyrule Field. * * * * * They had only just left Castle Town when the dragon sneezed on Link, torching him entirely. “WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT!!?” Link shouted at the dragon, “I SAVE YOU AND MAKE MY FRIEND ANGRY WITH ME, AND YOU TRY TO BURN ME TO A CRISP!!! THAT’S NOT HOW THINGS WORK!!!!! GET—LOST!!!!!!!!” With that, Link stormed off, down to Lake Hylia, leaving the dragon behind. * * * * * “Anything?” asked Navi. “Not even a nibble”, answered Link. He suddenly felt a tug on his line, “I think I spoke to soon!” Link said happily. He tugged the line out of the water, looking at a large Hylian pike. It looked like the fish had impaled itself on the hook. “That saves me the trouble of having to kill it”, said Link, looking a bit disgusted. He heard a soft growl coming from behind him. He looked around to see the dragon looking up at him. “Did he follow us all the way here?” he asked Navi. “He must have”, replied the fairy, “Otherwise the chances of him finding us would be slim to none.” The dragon was looking up at the fish in Link’s hands. Link got the message. “I’ll bet you’re really hungry”, he said, holding out the fish, “Do you want some?” The dragon shot out and snatched the entire fish out of Link’s hands. Three seconds later the only things left of the fish were the bones, which the dragon spat out. “OKAY, maybe I was too hard on you before, but you’ve been nothing but a pain in the neck”, said Link angrily, “This time I mean it. Just go away and leave me alone.” The dragon whimpered and started flying away. Link decided to go back to Castle Town on an empty stomach. * * * * * The dragon turned around and made its way up the hill back to Hyrule Field. “Where could they be?” he thought. And then finally, he saw them… and something they hadn’t seen. “OH NO!” he thought. He shot up the hill, doing his best to remain hidden in the tall grass; he got behind the ambusher and inhaled deeply. * * * * * The bokoblin was suddenly on top of them. Link couldn’t believe that he hadn’t reacted fast enough to draw his sword. It swung its scimitar over its head, almost ready to make the attack that would end Link’s life. It leaned back, thrust itself forward and… Fried? “Eat this you disfigured warthog!” roared the dragon as it let loose a jet of flame. The dead bokoblin stiffly fell over onto its face; its joints being melted together. Link and Navi looked up to see the dragon standing up on his tail looking proud of himself. “Wow”, Link breathed in relief, “Thanks a ton little guy. You just saved my life!” “It was the least I could do” thought the dragon. It growled, and Link thought he heard a noise coming from the dragon’s mouth that sounded like “…Li…” He heard another noise “…nk…” “Link”, said the dragon. “Navi! Did you hear that!” exclaimed Link, “He just said my name!” “Yeah”, replied Navi, “I’ve heard that some dragons can learn to speak but I’ve never actually thought it was true!” “I’m sorry for getting so mad at you earlier”, said Link, “I don’t know about you, but I think we’re gonna be friends for life.” The dragon smiled. * * * * * Link went back to Castle Town and spent the whole month teaching the dragon to speak. He was an astonishingly quick learner, and he had the vocabulary of a gifted twelve-year-old by the day they were ready to leave at the end of the month. Neither of them even got bored, not even Navi, who rarely left Link’s side. Link was even able to keep his promise to Zelda and he had even decided to stay at the castle on Zelda’s request. Between Link, Navi, and Zelda’s lessons, the dragon – who called himself Volvagia – was even having conversations with the servants. Of course, he still usually acted like an immature child, but his happy, light-hearted comments about things they were talking about were a good change of pace in their lives at the castle. Note to readers: Yes, now the dragon can speak.
