(Rom/Act/ZGen) Nayru's Book [T]
Nayru's Book - Prologue...
There couldn't be a greater feeling in the world. The galloping beneath you as you bounced on the back of your courageous steed. The wind whipped through your hair, and this wonderful experience is one Troy has know since he was young. He was raised, after all, at Lon Lon Ranch. He learned how to care for horses and cows and coocoos. He always believed that living at the ranch was better then the busy life of the other hylians at hyrule castle. Troy carefully slowed his horse down to a stop. He had reached his destination, and Lake Hylia was shimmering more beautifully then ever before. He turned to the dock, and there was the familiar young woman singing a soft Zora folksong. "Reira! You've become deaf from the sound of your own singing, did you not hear me gallop here?" Reira briskly swung her head around, her hair flying. Her expression swiftly changed from surprise to delight. "Troy, you could've sent me notice of your arrival!" Troy walked to join her but she ran towards him, eager to parade him with questions. "How've you been? Are the horses well? Oh! Is that Farore, last time I saw him he was but a foal!" Troy gave a kind smile. "Yes, that's Farore. Nayru has matured and can now be riden aswell." Reira chimed with delight. "They're the children of Din, right? The three horses you named in honour of the goddesses!" Troy guided Reira to her house by her shoulders. "Before we talk we should eat." Reira laughed, "You just came because you were hungry, didn't you?" Troy nodded and laughed with Reira. Reira finished preparing warm drinks and sat beside Troy. "Anything new?" she asked politely. Troy nodded as he took a few big gulps. He set the cup down and wiped his mouth. "Hyrule has a new princess." chimed Troy. Reira's reaction was unusual. "What's her name?" her tone was sober and stern. Troy frowned in confusion, "Zelda, why?" Reira quickly got up and rammaged through her stuff. "You know my father, right?" she called back. "Yeah," he finished another sip, "the Zora?" Reira sat back down with a sack and emptied one-by-one its contents onto the table. And few precious shells, a compass, old dusty pages and a few other items. "Remember how I told you, the day we met that I was raised by the Zoras?" she said distractedly. "Yeah." replied Troy casually and calm. "It was the rarest thing ever, rarer then raw meat. Hylians aren't usually adopted by Zoras." Reira finally found what she was looking for and placed in on the table with an undefined thud of importance. Carefully. she placed the other items back into the bag. "My father was known as the Historical Expert of the Zoras. He knew all the tales, myths and wisdom of the goddesses and Hyrule." A sad look came over Reira, and Troy knew why. "He was highly respected until he adopted me. Zoras are a proud tribe, they have nothing against Hylians. But adopting one was insanity." Reira took a sip out of her cup. "I did make a few friends, but the Zoras never really accepted me. I heard them telling my father once 'if you cared so much about her then you should of atleast took her to Hyrule Castle and get someone there to adopt her'. My dad loved me, and only smiled at them. I loved him so much..." Troy understood her pain a little bit. His mom died in an accident with an out-of-control horse. His father fell ill and he had to attend to Lon Lon Ranch with a few employees himself. But Reira never knew her parents, and they could be dead for all she knew. She was raised without acceptance and her guardian died. Now she lives here all alone. "My father told me before he died of the plague, that I was deliver this book when the princess Zelda was born." Confusion gripped Troy. "How did he predict something like that?" Until now, Reira's eye contact was stuck to the table. She lifted her sad eyes to face Troy. "It was part of the Legend of the Neverending Battle between those Blessed by the Goddesses. The Hero of Time was of the incarnations." The sun finally disappeared behind the mountains and the faint red faded away to reveal the stars. "There has been more then one Princess Zelda through history. At this time, there must have been another one to be born, one who lives in the forest. Link's new legend will begin within the next few decades." Reira wiped the dust off the book's cover, her eyes still on Troy. The book read, Nayru's Book. "Its a book filled with wisdom and tales, my father said it could shift the entire future of Hyrule. For this book is what will deliver the wisdom to thee blessed by Nayru: Zelda. How much she knows if how much she can help Link." A solemn look came over her. "My father told me to deliver this Zelda when she was born, I now need to go to Hyrule Castle. Will you help me?" Troy sat there, stunned. "This is all insane!" said Troy panic struken. "Y-y-you can't believe all this, can you!!?" Reira's eyes grew wet. Troy let out a mighty sigh. Troy was Reira's first Hylian friend, they met when Troy was on a holiday at the lake. He was little, he saw Reira pull herself out of the water onto the dock and chat with Zoras. He came over to her, and asked if she was a mermaid, a hylian-zora cross. They had been real close since, and even though he couldn't get his head around it all he trusted Reira. "Alright, I'll take you to Hyrule Castle."

Re: (Rom/Act/ZGen) Nayru's Book [T]
NOTICES OF THE FANFICTION:
[T] Rating: There is some violance, mainly towards end and middle. Chapters released at random, when written depends on my free time. I WILL continue even if there is no one reading this and will be dedicated to its complition. Please feel free to notify me of spelling errors. DESCRIPTION OF STORY: It started as a simply task. Barely an adventure, just a trip to Hyrule Castle and back. But the cargo we had, Nayru's Book, was the tide of the future. And of course, nothing this valuable could go unchecked and unchallenged. This is the adventure of Reira and Troy. Though it may be small compared to others, it is still enough to attract fear, suffering and danger. |

Chapter 1 - Preparing for the Voyage
Chapter 1 - Preparing for the Voyage
Reira tightened the knot that tied shut the bag of food. Galloping from two sets of hooves grew stronger. Reira skipped outside, Troy slowed the horses to a halt and got off. Nayru and Farore seemed excited, the atmosphere of the morning was adventurous. Reira was very serious the night before about importance of this trip, but now it was exciting. She had never been to Hyrule Castle before. The night before Troy rode off to Lon Lon Ranch to get Nayru for the trip. "Hey, everything packed?" Troy's smiled certainly lighten the morning even more. They worked together, packing food and clothes onto the horses. It wasn't a long trip, but the nights get cold Reira didn't want to have a fever when she presented the book to the royal family. "Troy, the sun isn't completely up. Maybe we could kill some time by reading out of Nayru's Book?" Troy was startled at this suggestion. "We're allowed?" he said dumbstruken. Reira gave a sympathetical smile. "Of course we're allowed, my dad wrote it!" Troy smiled from embarrassment. "You know me, always cautious. But with how much you've packed it seems like the tables have turned." Reira laughed a little,"I thought you'd agree that being prepared is a necessity. Unless you're aiming to be slaughtered by bullbin." Troy made a gesture of agreement. "They kidnap more then kill. What they'd want with a thousand prisioners the goddesses know." Reira made a brusk movement as she firmly tied a package to Nayru, who was older and could carry a bigger load. Troy then came over and adjusted the saddle. "But really, we can read out of the book?" Reira took a break from her work and smiled in a disappointed way for a joke. "Yes, lets sit down a read a bit while the horses drink" She took a seat and pulled out Nayru's Book. She flipped a few pages and lightly scanned as she went along. "Here we go!" "While creating the world, the goddesses made their own sanctuary which all three are in Hyrule. This is why their ancient power sleep in Hyrule, the power of the triforce. It is said that Farore created the Forest to the South. Din created the Volcano and its Land to the West. And Nayru created the Lake and its Water complexities to the East. These three lands make a triangle with themselves, for the North is excluded. It is also said that because these three lands are the goddesses' sanctuaries that beings have come to specifically live there. For these sanctuaries are beautiful lands filled with excellent resources. The Gorons, the rock people, have settled in Din's Sanctuary. The Zoras, the fish people, have come to settle in Nayru's Sanctuary. These two proud tribes have lived together for many years. But the last race to settle in Farore's Sanctuary have isolated themselves. The Kokiri have even said to have died out, some theories say that they evolved. Of course, in Hyrule, there are many other races that have settled in the general areas. The desert, fields, skies and cities of Hyrule are filled with races with their own pride." Reira closed the book. "These are all just legends, myths and theories. We do not actually know if any of it is real. There are also parts filled with just wisdom." Troy looked to the sky. "We should get going. The sun is already high in the sky." They quickly finished packing the horses and set off. This was Reira's first time horseback riding and after awhile of Troy chasing Reira to get her on the path he just tied Nayru to Farore with a rope. "Reira, next time a horse is running loose because you sped them up, don't speed them up even more." Troy joked. "W-w-well I just can't, g-get ahold and--" Troy burst out laughing. Reira just ended the agony with a huge sigh. Believe it or not, but they finally just got through the Hylia Lake path and was in Hyrule field. They stopped to take a break because Reira wasn't used to riding and her pelvis hurt from the bouncing. She spent some time stretching and admiring the mountains. She's lived near the water for so long... Now she sorrounded by a lake of grass and a few trees. She feeling of being dry and hot never sat well with her. But there wasn't a drop of water to be found because the river flowed south and they were heading east. She took a second to think back. "You've never left the water before, have you?" Reira, who was only 6, walked over to join her Zora father. "No. I've lived near it my entire life." her father smiled. "I found you floating down a river as little more then a newborn. You were actually just about to reach a waterfall. You almost died." Reira eyes were shining. "You must be my guardian! Sent to my by the goddesses!" The innocence of this made the Zora lightly laugh. "It's been a long time since the goddesses fell asleep. Their slumber may be eternal if no one saves them." Reira thought awhile. "We need a hero! Someone brave, and wise and powerful!" Her father stroked her head. "You will find that you don't need to be powerful or wise to be a hero, only brave." Its been a long time since Reira last spoke to her father, the only thing she has left is her memories of them. Which so often she finds herself reliving them. Next Chapter! The Action Begins... |

Better
I can see the characters deleveloping.
Reira is no longer the simple girl I thought see was. She seems now like a women instead of a girl. She also seems wise like Nayru Troy, on the other hand, seems like the worrywart, but at the same time brave, and strong. There is only one thing I don't get. Why is Lon Lon Ranch in the TP world? Or are they in the OoT world?

Chapter 2-Troubles in the "Simple" Task
Wow, its been a long time since I wrote. Sorry, I've been gone for a long Time! Here's Chap. 2!
Chapter 2: Troubles in the "Simple" Task Troy had been busy all dusk setting up camp and starting a fire. Reira found herself missing the rivers and lake of the Hylian Province within only a few hours. "Don't worry, we only need to ride south a little. There should be little detours, now that we've straightened out the horsed issue!" Troy continued his attempts to cheer Reira but she just heaved great sighs. She absolutely hated being dry, and the crackling fire was no comfort for her misery. "How can you stand being so close to the fire? There's ash and heat and the air's dry!" Reira sat a good distance from the fire while Troy was nestled as closely as possible in his bed. Another foot closer and he'd be on fire. The full moon was brighter then ever and the crikets sung sofely while Reira and Troy slept in the engulfing darkness. The stars seemed to glisten in glee for the clear night. Troy was sleeping soundly, but Reira was constanly awoken by fear. She was unprotected, with bullbin loose and Troy was too busy snoring to hear the rustling bushes. He was the only one who could protect her, but she feared for both their sakes. The rustling grew louder and louder until Reira could no longer stand it. She woke Troy and packed up. They would ride in the twilight. Troy yawned. "I can barely stay awake anyways, but you've never left Lake Hylia so I should of guessed you'd be jumpy." Reira went red. "I'm not jumpy! Something was in the bushes! You said yourself it wasn't far to Hyrule Castle, we can sleep there!" Troy pouted. "We won't reach Hyrule castle until midday, then we'll be too tired to give Princess Zelda the book." Reira ignored him. But while they were arguing, they didn't notice that a shadow formed only a little while away, and was now watching their every move. A wild laughter broke out only a minute later. The horses screamed and kicked, but Troy calmed them the best he could. And pulsating from the darkness was a voice, creul and cold yet toned with amusement, giving it its only life. "I was going to retrieve the book, but you brought it to me. That book has an outstanding influence on the future. IT MUST NOT REACH ZELDA!" The voice's vessel rose until you could see it clearly, constrasted against the moon. It was a silhouette of a man, a mere shadow of the real thing. "I am the memory of the Dark Lord Ganondorf, the etching of his hate and his lust for power sewed into the fabrics of time!" Reira and Troy listened with amazement, and confusion. Troy was too stupid to understand a thing that was going on. The vocabulary Ganon's Etching used was too complex for him. Reira, who was raised in wisdom, understood everyhing and was amazed that such a thing could happen. Yet she heard of phantoms rising from one's unfurfilled goals and their will for revenge. So this Ganon Shadow was Ganon's Phantom? Wanting a name to call him by, Reira spoke out. "What do you identify yourself by? A phantom? A shadow? An etching?" "I am Ganondorf's Hate. Nothing more or less." "Ganon's Hate?" questioned Troy. "I don't understand what's going on!!!" Neither had the patience to explain anything to Troy. "We will never give you Naryru's Book!" yelled Reira. Though you couldn't see it, you could fell that Ganon's Hate gave a nasty grin. "I have no enthusiam in fighting you, as wuick as it would be. So I'll merely put a permanent obstacle in your journey. Or crush your hope by seeing my power!" And thus the atmosphere grew dark and overpowerings. Cracks appeared in the ground, and water welled up from inside them. Ganon's Hate gave a frightning yell and a great river formed, the flow too speedy to allow them to cross. They were cut off from Hyrule Castle. "This river runs all the way to Kakariko Village, there is no point where you can cross it. It is suicide to attempt to swim it." And with that, the silhouette grew fainter and fainter until Ganon's Hate had vanished. "Well, I guess I'll bide you farewell! You can't swim this, afterall." said Reira positively. "YOU'RE GONNA GIVE UP AFTER ALL THIS?! Remember what Ganon's Hate said, Nayru's Book will decide the future!" protested Troy. "Well, he said it influenced the future. Besides, I'm not giving up. I'm gonna swim it! I was raised by Zora's, so I can do it. You're a terrible swimmer and its stupid to think you could make it." Troy continued to protest as Reira slipped Nayru's Book into an air-tight bag to prevent water damage and removed excess clothing. Of course, Troy tried force, but Reira's muscles were strong from years of swimming and threw him off. Troy was about to attempt his last tactic when Reira dived in a swam with all her force. "REIRA!!!!!" "TROY!!!!!----*gurgle*" The current was indeed strong, and Reira was swept away. Troy jumped onto Farore (the horse, of course) and rode downstream beside the river. The current was so quick, the Reira was being carried off faster then Troy could ride. Next Chapter, prepare for Drama! P.S. I'll check spelling later, please feel free to notify any you find! |

Re: (Rom/Act/ZGen) Nayru's Book [T]
Now, the next chapter! (I'm writing this even though noone has commented on the last, yet
)Chapter 3 - Sorrowful Rain Troy rode to dawn, back to dusk. Reira's cries for help died out a long while back, and Farore's run is slowing. Troy hasn't rested for a full day now, and neither has Farore. They stop and eat, but Troy is eager to press on. The night is not so clear, and soon droplets begin to ring. A symphony takes place and the delicate sounds ring out accross the feilds, echoed to the sky. Farore can no longer run, his young age doesn't allow it physically and he's worn out mentally aswell. Troy starts to walk Farore along side the river. He will not accept the idea of Reira's head. At least Reira isn't complaining about being dry anymore. In fact, Reira just woke up. She was lying down and gingerly, she began to pick herself up off the ground. She was inside a sort of small room. There was no furniture, only thin coushions for her and the little girl to sit on. "Where are we?" asked Reira. The little girl looked up. Her forest green eyes pierced through her wavy auburn hair. "We are in a cell." Her voice has innocent and sad. There only so many people-and things-who had cells. Either, the unlikely one, they were in the dungeons of Hyrule Castle or... "Bullbin?" asked Reira. The girl weakly turned to her and nodded. "I have been here for a few months I think." She mumbled. Reira was shocked. "What do they do?" she asked fearfully. The girl shrugged. "Feed you and sometimes take you out." "what?!" asked Reira panicing. "I don't know what they do to you once they take you out of the room. You just don't come back in." Reira calmed herself. "What's your name?" "My name is Sapphire. My parents were killed a few years back by Bullbins the first time they raided my village.” "And you weren't caught then...?" Sapphire looked up. Her eyes were sad. "Yes, I was. My mother was killed protecting me and my father running after to save me. He saved me, but it cost him his life." Reira went silent. She never knew her parents and her Zora father died from the plague, the one which wiped out Zoras, Gorons, Hylians, Animals, and everything in between. "Most parents were lost from the Plague. I'm surprised tp hear anyone dying that way these days." Sapphire mumbled something, Reira asked her to repeat it. "My mom did have the illness, she would have died anyways." Reira looked to her feet. It was all too much right now. Troy was had finally reached the end of the river, and it flew off the side of a cliff making a waterfall into the abyss. It sure wasn't a natural river, to flow like this. But Troy's attention quickly changed to the small village. It looked almost deserted. It had broken signs and smashed wheelbarrows polluting the streets. It looked worse then a tornado attack. He walked through the town and managed to makeout a sign that read Kakariko Inn. He walked inside to find that to his surprise, it was intact and clean. The interior of the buildings reflected nothing of the outside mess. "'Ello 'ere. Can I 'elp you?" His accent was a little strange and unknown. "I 'em not from Hyrule. I came 'ere from far 'eway to set up 'is inn." A plump young lady came around the desk and wiped off some tables. "A guest? A client? Oh, how very rare. I am an employee, may I help you?" Troy shooked his head, but they all could see how tired and faint he was. Not to mention pale, and his was tanned from working on a ranch. "M-my friend, she went down that stream. I-I am scared she might have gone off the cliff. Did you by any chance see her? Navy hair, gold eyes...?" The girl shook her head. "Bullbin just raided, and even if she managed to get out she would have been taken." " 'ere lucky she didn't get 'aken!" He said pointing at the Employee. "was anyone taken?" He asked. A silence as thick as death's sorrow fell over them. "The poor orphin Sapphire was taken a few months ago. We did see the Bullbin leave with two ladies, this time. One was his neice who came to visit, Annie." The man was too sad to talk. He was obviously the owner of the inn and he was responsible for Annie, but now she was gone. After a nights stay Troy packed up Farore with nre supplies. He let Nayru free awhile back to run off to Lon Lon Ranch, which wasn't too far away at the time. He was worried about her, but not nearly as worried as he was for Reira. He quickly did the saddle and jumped on. Farore was hesitant to run away, but he was young and energetic and was easily swayed to run again. The gallopted North for a few hours, then found the Bullbin's trail and started East. If Reira wasn't at the Bullbin camp, at least he'd rescue Sapphire or Annie. But another person at Kakariko described one of the ladies wearing Reira's clothing, so Troy was certain she was there. Sapphire tossed some pebbles at the wall and let them roll back. She had lived a hard life, and now she lived the rest out like this. Reira got an idea, and rummaged through her clothes and found the book safely inside her scale tunic that lay below her tradition zora made clothes. It was dry and safe. "Sapphire, would you like to read a little bit." Sapphires eyes quickly brightened and looked towards Reira. "I haven't heard a story or read a book since my parents died!" She sat by Reira as she flipped through the pages. "This isn't really a story book, but stories are about morales. So I'll read a little bit of wisdom to you." Reira said it funny and Sapphire laughed. "I'm not a little girl. I've just been throwing rocks at the wall for months and it hasn't budged. This is better then that by far!" Reira smiled and found her page. It was perfect for Sapphire, she was reluctant to read it. It was about sadness and Sapphires tears were justified. She didn't really need to hear this right now. But it would certainly help. "Alright, this is about sorrow..." The next chapter is short and will ONLY be what is written in Nayru's Book!

Chapter 4: In the Pages of Nayru's Book
Chapter 4: In the Pages of Nayru's Book
"Sorrow grows from within, it is but an illusion that peruades us to believe it is everywhere, out there..." This quote tells us that sadness is not outside oneself, but within. This is true, because though terrible things happen on the outside, it is inside our hearts that sorrow grows like parasides. And, as a paraside, they eat your energy. Happiness and love seem to disappear in the presence of sadness, which is why illusion is mentioned. Our focus tends to go to the bad things and not the good things. Once you manage to get past that illusion, you can see clearly. People suffering depression or otherwise can sometimes be victims of sorrow, meaning that they must dismiss everything they thought they knew to proceed. Believing your life is only pain is a lie. The wind on your skin, the hope in your heart and the grass beneath your feet. Sometimes being blinded by the sun is the only way to see clearly. Because the good things in this world is enough to match the sadness. Suffer not the only thing that pollutes this world, but the folly that is that is that sadness pollutes. Pain was sent to this world as balance, and without which there would be no happiness, which is endowed by the gratefulness for it. "The moon is not evil, but the shadow of the light which is the sun." This quotes talks about moon and the sun. The moon and the sun are merely comparisions to light and shadow, which are in themselves comparisions to happiness and sadness. "The moon is not evil," meaning that darkness, sorrow, does not cause pain for pleasure. "but the shadow of the light" the shadow of the light is an old phrase listed in ancient hylian textes. It is said that the shadow is meant as a lack of light, a haven for those who cannot bare the sun. A balancer so that the light dwellers and the darkness dwellers may live together. So, "shadow of light which is the sun" is a reference to that texte. Meaning that the moon: the night, is for relief of those who live by shadow. The sorrow is to protect those who do not live by happiness, is the translation of this quote. As mentioned several times, opposites do not only attract but balance. Sorrow is here for those who are required for balance. And sorrow itself is balance to happiness. "Sadness is not the messenger of joy." The messenger is thee who brings death to one. This means that sadness is not the murderer of joy, sadness does not devour joy. Joy is always there. Just because there is sadness, does not mean there is no joy. Sorrow and joy are not enemies, they balance and live together. The opposites of each other attract, that is why you cannot live with only one of these two. That is why when you ask yourself, "why does this always happen to me?" that you recieve no answer. It happens to everyone, EVERYONE. From the little girl living in poverty to the rich, respectable man. Accept this, and you know sympathy to all... ...Did this chapter help anyone? CHAPTER 5: BLOOD ON THE FLOWER PEDALS
