(Horror) The Legend of Shamrock Acres[T]

Hey people! How are ya?
If you remember me as \/\/ind \/\/aker, you would have remembered my horror storys. Well, thier back!

Only this one is true. Because it happenened on my farm, so yeah, I'm gonna be in it with my best bud, Melissa.

The Legend of Shamrock Acres

Prologue: It was a dark and stormy night on Shamrock Acres…the trees bent and swayed in the angry wind. A women ran outside in the storm when she saw a car pulling up. The car had a young horse in it, and the driver asked to use the Barn…the horse was put in the barn, where I went in there to help it. Sadly, the foal died a slow, cold death…that’s when the horrible things started to happen.

Chapter 1: The Beginning

“Come on, you didn’t even know the horse!” Melissa said to me gently. I nodded but then added sadly “But it was so cute, didn’t you see the pain in it’s eyes?” Melissa hung her head. We both knew that the young horse dieing was sad and painful.
We went outside to go into the barn with Buddy, my miniature horse. Buddy whinnied up at us. He’s only about 15 inches high, with brown shaped hearts on both sides of him.
As we entered the barn, it suddenly felt very cold. Melissa grabbed me and said “Shannon, do you remember what happens when it gets cold?
“Somebody gets sick?” I answered
“No! There must be a ghost around here…”
I laughed at her. It was nervous laughter. Then I said
“The barn is in the shade, that’s why it’s so cold!”
I could see that she didn’t believe me, but Buddy was hungry, and it was lunch time for him. As I opened the door to the tack room, I heard a blood-curdling scream.

Chapter 2: The First Scare

I turn around quickly to look at my friend. She was screaming at a huge spider hanging off the barn door. I screamed as well. The spider was staring at us with it’s black eyes so menacingly. I grabbed Buddy’s feed bucket and killed the spider.
“That was so scary!” Melissa cried
“You said. I swear, these spiders are getting worse each day!”
“You ready to feed Bud-Bud?”
“Yeah!”
After we fed Buddy, we fed Captain and Irish. Captain is a blue roan pony. His white face and grey body made him beautiful and easy to look at. Irish was nothing more then a mean goat. As Melissa and I walked out of the barn, we noticed something up the hill. It was a small black dog. Melissa sighed happily.
“It’s only Midnight.” She said
“What did you think it was?”
“A ghost…”
“You’re a nutcase, know that?”
Melissa shoved me. I could tell that Midnight spooked her badly. As we walked back up the hill, I glanced back at the barn. Captain was not eating in his stall, so I figured he wasn’t hungry…then again, we always ate.
That night, Melissa and I went into my room. She brought her sleeping bag with her, and set it down on the floor. She looked at me and said “Do you really think I want Midnight all over me?”
“No.” I replied “But sleeping down there isn’t gonna help. What if we jumps on you?”
“I don’t care. Night.”
“Good night.”
It was 1:00 in the morning when I was awakened by a sound. I listened carefully into the night. It sounded like a horses whinny. I jumped out of bed. I was afraid something happened to either Buddy or Captain. Melissa heard me and said “What’s wrong?”
“I hear a horse! Come on! Get up! Captain or Buddy could be hurt bad!”
Melissa wasted no time. We both silently crept out of the house and ran down the hill. Buddy, Captain, and Irish where outside of the barn. Me and Melissa could still hear the whinny as we ran down the hill. We stopped short at the red gate that leads into the pen where the horses are. I felt a chill down my back. I unlocked the gate and stepped into the pen. Normally, Captain and Buddy would have bolted out into the field with Irish hot on their heels, but that night, they stood on the far end of the pen, staring at us with their big brown eyes. It was a nice warm and windless night, but when we came into the barn, it got cold. I could see my breath. Melissa was behind me shivering from both fear and the cold.
I looked at the very last door in the barn. It hung wide open. Melissa looked at me, and I answered her glance with a frightened whimper. As we drew closer to the open door, it slammed shut. Fast as lightning, we ran from the barn, opened the red gate, and ran up to the house. I could hear the horses and Irish bolt into the field. We ran into my room, slammed the door, and pulled the covers over our heads until morning.

This is pretty good, but it's to short. Also it doesn't seem really scary to me, but I guess it was worse when you were going through it. I also don't get scared from stories so that might be it too. Anyway, keep writing. I can't wait to read more.

Chapter 3: A Dead Rabbit

Melissa and I woke up the next morning. My mom greeted us with a smile and said “Morning you two! What where you doing asleep all morning? It’s nearly noon!” I rolled my eyes. I hate it when she says that. Melissa laughed. I looked at her and said “What’s so funny?”
“Nothing. I think it’s funny how you rolled your eyes!”
“Are you retarded?”
“No..”
Melissa and I ate our breakfasts, and went outside. I had a lot of different animals on the farm. Rabbits, dogs, horses, goats, and chickens. I could tell that Melissa wanted to feed the chickens first. She liked them, I guess she thought they where funny. As we drew close to the chickens, I could see Melissa’s favorite one. The dominate male, our black chicken we called Midnight Wishes. She ran into the feed storage and brought out a bucket of chicken feed. “So, do you think Midnight Wishes still likes Chick?” I asked. Chick was our first female chicken.
“I don’t think so. He’s hanging around with Chowder now.”
“True. That’s weird.”
As we chatted about who Midnight Wishes liked more, I felt strange. Something one the farm wasn’t right. I could feel it. Next, we feed the dogs. We had only 3 outside dogs then. Melissa ran up the steps into the backdoor to feed them. Laddie, a very old collie, was the first one up the steps. Next came the twins, Princess and Joshy. Melissa feed Laddie while I feed the twins. Then we headed off toward the barn.
“Shannon, what will we do? The ghost is in there!”
I gulped “Uh…calm down. It might have left.”
“Uh-huh. Sure.”
As we grew nearer to the barn, the heat in the air dropped. It went from 87 degrees to something a lot lower. Melissa and I freaked when we didn’t see any flies on my horses. As we fed the horses, I saw Irish start acting weird. He kept baaing at us, and wouldn’t eat his food. Buddy and Captain refused to go into the barn. As we left to feed the rabbits…me and Melissa held our breath. As we turned into the rabbit cage area, there was one rabbit who wasn’t moving. It was Smokey, the youngest one. He lay on the bottom of the cage, cold and stiff. Melissa opened her mouth into a horrified scream and I soon joined her.

It's not really that fun to go through this type of thing for most people. But I'm not most people. I think it's cool after it happens.

Anyway, nice chapter. I can't wait until it gets scary. It's really sad about the rabbit.

Re: (Horror) The Legend of Shamrock Acres[T]

Thanks Milly. But hey people, some of this brings back terrible memories, and writing this is hard.

Chapter 4: Some Horrifying Events

Melissa and I refused to do anything down at the barn. We did feed the horses, but we only fed them fast. We didn’t stay to pet them or love on them. As the sun began to sink below the trees, Melissa turned to me and said
“You know what?! I’m tired of this! Why are we afraid of a dead rabbit?!”
“Maybe because Smokey was perfect yesterday. Today he’s dead!”
“And what’s that suppose to mean?!”
Melissa had me there. I had no explanation for Smokey’s sudden death. But we where both horrified and frightened, that’s all I knew. As we walked up to the house, I glanced back at the barn. Buddy was staring at me, his large brown eyes begging me to let him out into the field…I could tell he missed running around out there. Melissa looked back as well.
That night, Melissa woke up at 1:30 am. The house was silent and the room was warm. She got out of my room and went out into the kitchen to get a drink. As she poured a glass of orange juice, she looked out the window. Her eyes widened in fear, her mouth dropped open in surprise, and the glass dropped from her hands. Outside, far in the back of the house, a glowing white mist appeared. It swirled and twisted like a mini hurricane. To Melissa’s horror, the mist seemed to be getting closer to the house. She left the orange juice out and ran into my room. She jumped under the covers and hid. Melissa was fast asleep by the time I woke up. I couldn’t sleep, and when I looked at the time, it was 1:40 am. I rubbed my eyes and walked out into the kitchen. I saw the broke glass and the left-out orange juice. I cleaned up the glass and put the juice away. I ate some salad and peered out the back window…and dropped my fork. A white misty thing was right outside the door. I gasped and ran into my room, slammed the door, and hid under the covers.
The next morning, Melissa and I stayed in my room. We played The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker until we got bored. Then we played Super Smash Bros. Melee. As we played, a shiver went down my back. I knew something was wrong down at the barn.
“Melissa,” I said “We better go down to the barn.”
“Why?” She asked as she finished me off with Sheik’s smash attack.
“Something is not right…”
“Pish-Posh.”
“I’m serious! Now come on before I go Zelda on you.”
Melissa rolled her eyes at me, but she followed. As we neared the barn, I could see Buddy. His ears were flat on his head, his teeth bared, and his eyes showed more then just anger. I ran the rest of the way. Captain stood at the far end of the pen. I walked over to him as slowly as I could. As drew close, I noticed a dark liquid running down his side. I slowly turned him around by his halter and gasped.
I stared at a large raw spot on his shoulder. Blood dripped off him like water. I looked over at Buddy.
“Melissa! Get away from Buddy! Get away from him now!” I cried
“Why?” She asked.
Before Melissa could move, Buddy reared. His hooves hit her on the side of her head. She fell to the ground in a limp. Buddy reared again and charged out into the field. I ran over to Melissa.
“Shannon…Bu-Buddy isn’t like that…”
“I know. What’s his problem any way?”
“Melissa…he would never attack Captain. Captain’s the leader of this small herd!”
“I’m scared.”
“Me too.”
As we ran up the hill, questions raced through my mind. Why was Buddy being so mean? Why did we attack Captain? Why did we charge out of the pen? I didn’t have the answers, but the more I thought about it, the more I became afraid of my own horse.

Re: (Horror) The Legend of Shamrock Acres[T]

Chapter 5: A Terrible Attack

My mom said that Buddy’s behavior is him only trying to be the leader of the small herd. But Buddy is not like that, for he is a miniature horse and Captain is a pony. Melissa sat on the bed as I stared up at the ceiling. All of a sudden Melissa said “Shannon, what if that horse that died in your barn is making Buddy do this?”
“What makes you think that?” I answered “You think this because….?”
“Because Buddy only followed Captain. Why on earth would he suddenly start trying to be the leader?
“I…uh…huh… I don’t know.”
“See? Even you don’t know what’s going on!”
“You think that means something?! Why don’t we go down to the horses?”
“Because who knows what will happen to us!”
“You have to trust me! Please!”
Melissa finally stopped talking and followed me to barn. We shivered as we walked down to the barn. As we turned the corner into the stalls, we both stood there in bewilderment. Buddy and Captain where rearing and kicking at each other. Melissa and I jumped out of the way as they galloped out into the pen. We stared in horror as Captain swung his mighty hooves at Buddy’s small head. Buddy moved just in time and charged at Captain. We cried out as Buddy’s jaws opened and clamped down on Captain’s belly. Captain let out a terrified whinny and fell to the ground. I ran over to Buddy and forced him away with some loud whooping. Buddy charged out into the field with Irish hot on his heels. I dropped to my knees to look at Captain. After a few minutes, I came to the conclusion that he was only beat up. Melissa made him molasses and I put him into his stall. Then we fed Irish and put him in a stall.
As we went out to fetch Buddy, we saw him at the far end of the field. He reared and charged right at us. As he drew closer, I could see his eyes flat on his head, and I could see the wild look in his eye. Melissa darted out of the way and rolled to the side as he charged past. I looked at Buddy. He snorted at us and turned into the barn.
Melissa looked at me with a fearful look and I returned the glance. If we didn’t do something soon, Buddy would be shot.

Re: (Horror) The Legend of Shamrock Acres[T]

Chapter 6: Attack from beyond the grave

Melissa stared at me as we played Wind Waker. She couldn’t believe how calm I was after what had just happened. It was a darkening day, dark storm clouds rolled in from the east. Finally she said “Why are you still keeping Buddy? He’s dangerous now!”
“Oh, and I suppose your gonna say that Irish is the nicest goat on earth?” I said with sarcasm. I didn’t want to get rid of Buddy, he was my most favorite horse in the whole world. But deep down, I knew I was scared of him.
“Sorry.” She said “I’m just so scared of what he will do next.”
“I know. Me to.” I said as I sliced a moblin “But what can we do?”
“Call the Ghost Busters.” Melissa said with a slight grin.
That made me laugh. “Do you have their number?”
“No. But guess what?”
“What?”
“Helamoroc King just killed you.”
“Crap!”

That night, Melissa and I stayed up for as long as we could. I heard a coyote howl and saw a bird fly across the night sky. I went over to the window and looked down to the barn. Buddy was standing next to Captain, swishing their tails as it getting rid of flies although it was night. Irish was getting a drink of water from the tub.
At 1:00 in the morning, we we’re getting sleepy. I looked at the barn again. The animals we’re in bed sleeping already, so we went to sleep. But an hour later, I was awakened by noise inside my room. I woke up and stared in horror as my Zelda games one by one scooted to edge of my dresser and fell off. My game cube fell from it’s perch, and I screamed as the bed started to shake violently.
Melissa woke up and saw the games and the game cube on the ground and felt the bed shaking. She screamed as well. It wasn’t until 4:00 am that the bed stopped shaking. Me and Melissa we’re to scared to go down to the barn the next day.
