Fiction Rules - Updated 5/16/08
Criticism and Commenting
One major flaw that plagues many writers is that there is a genuine lack of proper commenting. What is truly ideal are some good quality comments that can include constructive criticism, saying what points you found particularly funny and why, and what you didn't like and why, and generic copy/paste comments are not encouraged. Such comments include, but are not limited too:
To post Fiction on the according subforum, it is required that you include a topic prefix before the actual topic name by choosing it while making your thread, ie: [Hor] My butt went nuts (G) [Hor] being the topic prefix, and "My butt went nuts" being the topic name and [G] being the topic suffix. Fiction Thread Prefixes
Age Ratings Put these at the end of your topic line.
Again, this is confined within the boundaries of what writers and moderators deem "tasteful". However, this does not mean lemons, orgies and a story dedicated to eating babies. Bumping Threads If you have had no comments for a while and you want to bump your thread to give it some attention, you must do so by posting the next part of your fiction, and not by posting a spammy little generic comment of intent, like; * New part coming soon! * Chapter 17 coming soon! * I'm just updating, I'll be finished soon * New part is on the way! In addition, if you've just posted a new fiction and you wish to submit the next part but have not received any comments, don't worry about double or multiple posting, simply post the next part. Sometimes, a mod may merge the posts together, but that said, feel free to post new art and fiction pieces. A note to all those that comment on art and fiction - be sure to read and obey the rules about commenting on pieces, no brief, short spam please. Continued spam will result in warnings. ![]() Last edited by Jason; 05-16-2008 at 06:39 AM. |

Re: Fiction Rules - Updated 5/16/08
If someone posts a fanfic (let's say a complete one), it gets no reviews, and eventually vanishes from the boards, could the author repost their story after enough time has passed and the unreviewed story is gone from the forum? If so, how long should a person wait?

Re: Fiction Rules - Updated 5/16/08
To be honest, I don't anyone has ever posted a complete fanfic, and I'm fairly sure no-one will.
![]() However, in this situation, I'd consider having to wait for a long time to pass for the thread to dissapear to be far too long a wait for someone that deserves comments, in which, say after a certain amount of time, say one/two weeks (enough time so that comments could have been posted) then I'd allow that member to create a double post to get their thread some attention, but I'd say that these cases are rare. If however, this has happened to you, and your thread from a long, long time ago has been forgotten, I'd say reposting the thread is fully justified. |

Re: Fiction Rules - Updated 5/16/08
Thanks. My (one-shot) fanfic is on page three, and seeing as how this forum always seems to have three pages no matter how many fics are posted, I see it going soon. I was just wondering if I could ever repost it. I might actually end up just putting it on the site, but I don't know if anyone reads those. Heck, nobody's noticed that most of those fics are actually just titles and nothing more.
Thanks SuperDecimal.

Re: Fiction Rules - Updated 5/16/08
Im kind of wondering if I could just put the link of my fanfiction on a post like this instead of writing it completely. Its already going to go on Adult Fanfiction.net but i'm just wondering if i could just put the link to it on here instead of typing the whole thing out

It happens to the best of us.
Still might not be faster then putting the Link, but I prefer to read it on here then having to click to a different site. Thats just me of course.

Re: Fiction Rules - Updated 5/16/08
I've changed all of the previous thread "pre-abbreviations" to real thread prefixes. You can now select from a dropdown list the genre of your work both in this forum and in the Poetry forum. For multiple genres, simply add the second genre as a suffix next to the age rating.
