Legend of Zelda: Origins of the Fierce Deity
I suppose the correct name would be: (ZGen)*insert title here*[T]
This is my first fan-fiction. Hope you like it: Long ago, about two hundred and a half years ago, the Hero of Legend returned from a quest in a foreign land and returned to Hyrule. They say that in his journey he collected several different masks, some of which held magic abilities, that when worn would change the hero into the shape the mask represented. All these masks were left in the foreign land. All but one. This one mask, the Fierce Deity Mask, held great power, but at a risk. As the hero exited the forest that held the gateway to the foreign land, he was confronted by his greatest enemy, Ganondorf. The hero acted in haste and put on the Fierce Deity Mask. For a reason unknown, the mask overpowered the hero. He defeated Ganondorf, but the mask had already put his mind into a long sleep. For half a decade the mask terrorized the land. On the sixth year of the hero's return the mask lost control of him and he was able to act as he wished again. The hero disappeared to somewhere in Hyrule and the land was left in a state of chaos. When the hero returned he came without the accursed mask. He helped rebuild the land and give hope back to its people. As he grew old in age the Hero of Legend began taking on apprentices, each of which became a- "Link! Blow out that candle and go to sleep! You'll have to wake up early again tomorrow!" That's my father. By the way my name's Link. How is it? I've decided to give links to each chapter here: Chapter 2 | Chapter 8 Chapter 3 | Chapter 9 Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Last edited by Hyrule; 08-10-2007 at 04:50 PM. |

Re: Legend of Zelda: Origins of the Fierce Deity
Hmm, I sorta thought one person would've posted at least. Oh well, here's Chapter One:
I have light brown hair and hazel eyes. When my birthday comes up in about a month I'll be 14. "Link, Are you asleep yet!" That's my father again. My father's never been the same since mom died. Before he used to be the nicest person, always laughing and making other people smile. Now he's quiet and frowns a lot. He leaves home for most of the day and when he comes back it's around five and a half hours after sunset and he's usually drunk. I'm not sure why, but I read that book on the Hero of Legend each night, ever since my mom read it to me when I was eight. You know one of my ancestors trained under the hero, he became high ranked knight soon after his training finished. Ever since my mom first told me this I've had fantasies of fighting with evildoers and defending the land. The only person I know of in my family that still knows the way of the sword is my grandfather, Duro. Currently he lives in Hyrule Castle Town. We don't visit him often though. One day I wish to travel there and train under him, but for some reason father says I can't. And when I ask why he just says, "Swords are dangerous things. I wouldn't want yeh to get hurt." I think he's hiding something. I just don't know what. The next morning I woke to the sound of metal against wood. Father must be chopping some logs today, I thought. I headed downstairs to find some Lon-Lon Milk, cheese, and bread on a tray lying on the table. I cut a piece of cheese and a put it with a chunk of bread in my mouth, and chewed, taking a sip of milk every minute or so. When I finished I chugged the rest of the Lon-Lon Milk and headed outside. I headed toward the back of our garden. As I got walked closer I could see my father hacking at some logs lying on the ground. "Hey! Need some help?" I called. He turned around and looked in my direction. "Nah, but I have some rocks over there," he pointed to our shed across the field, " I'm planning to plant some crops there, and I need those rocks moved." he yelled back. I gave him a thumbs up sigh and headed towards the shed. When I got there I knew I'd need to dig around the rocks before getting rid of them. I headed towards the house and came back with a shovel. I started on the big ones first, then when I finished the small ones. The rocks lay to the side in a pile as I lay next to a rock I had dug around that wouldn't come out. Setting the shovel blade under the rock I pushed up. The rock flew off of the ground and broke the shed window. Father's always told me never to go in there. I'm not sure why. I walked towards the window and peered inside. The rock lay next to some steel helms. Why is there armor in here? I asked myself. Climbing in I found that there wasn't just armor, but a few saddles, and a lance or two. Walking to the rock, I lifted it and turned around. On the wall was a sword hanging on pegs. I walked towards the wall and lifted the sword from its holding place. On the ground I found its scabbard. Throwing the sword, in its scabbard, outside I lifted myself up. Re: Legend of Zelda: Origins of the Fierce Deity
It's not as serious as the title makes it sound. I liked the way you introduced us to the story(AKA the prolouge).
I headed downstairs to find some Lon-Lon Milk, cheese and bread on a tray lying on the table. I cut a piece of cheese and a put it with a chunk of bread in my mouth, and chewed, taking a sip of milk every minute or so. When I finished I chugged the rest of the Lon-Lon Milk and headed out side. That was my favorite part! I dunno way. Maybe it was cool to find out how the Hylians ate.

Re: Legend of Zelda: Origins of the Fierce Deity
Are you going to keep your chapters like this or make them longer?
Sometimes I like short chapters-this story would be a case. Other stories I read I wish they were longer. I'm not trying to be picky(as you can tell I'm reading a lot of stories right now just look!).

Re: Legend of Zelda: Origins of the Fierce Deity
I've finished Chapter 2 a bit earlier than I thought. Here it is.
The sword lay outside of the scabbard in my hands as I sat on the ground. The whole thing, blade and hilt, was covered in dust. I blew on it and dust flew off. Standing up I headed towards the rocks. Picking up the shovel I headed for the nearest rock. Finishing fairly quickly I attached the scabbard to my back and put the sword in it. Taking the shovel in my hands I returned to the house. Walking through the door I set the shovel leaning against the wall. I heard my father calling for me, "Link are you in there?" "Yes," I answered as I walked towards the door. "Good. I see that you've finished with the rocks. Now I want you to see if the cuccos have made any m-" He paused as I walked out of the door. I saw his eyes go to the sword hilt that was visible from above my shoulder. "Where did you get that?" he asked. "From the shed." I replied. "THE SHED!" He yelled in my face. I took a step back. "WHAT HAVE I SAID ABOUT GOING INTO THE SHED!" He barked. "Never to go in there." I managed to say. He stared at me for a while then pushed me away and walked inside. Did do something wrong? I asked myself. I walked inside. "Link, come here." Came a voice from the kitchen. I went to the kitchen, knowing it would be yelling if I didn't listen. My father was sitting on a chair by the table starring at me. "You wanted me." I said. "Link, I want you to leave and never come back." He said calmly. "B-but why." I stuttered. "You have disobeyed me. Go take what you need and leave." He answered back. "I won't disobey you again! Please, let me stay!" Tears begin to drip from my eyes. Father just stood up and walked outside. I just stood there for about an hour. Finally I wiped the tears from my eyes and headed upstairs to my room. If father's not going to let me stay then I'll go. I'll go to Grandfather Duro. And then I'll finally train with him. I thought. Going through my bedroom door I pulled a small chest from under my bed. Opening it I stared at the same kind of cloths the Hero of Legend used to wear. They were given to me four years ago on my tenth birthday. My mom sewed them herself to celebrate the age I had turned. Being ten is important because that's how old the Hero of Legend was when he began his journey. I stripped my current cloths off and changed in to the green of the hero. Putting the hat on I looked at my reflection that showed on a basin of water that lay near my bed. Smiling I attached the scabbard and sword to my back. Next I picked up a bag of rupees that lay at the bottom of the chest and put it in a pocket that was on the part of the tunic that wasn't visible. Then I headed outside. I could see my father exiting the cucco pen with a basket of eggs. I headed to the small forest that lay below our farm. After a couple of hours, after the sun had set, I realized was hungry. Digging in the sack I had brought out a piece of dried meat and bread. I finished and stuck another piece of meat in my mouth and continued to walk for two hours until I noticed something. I first notice when I noticed that my shoulder had gotten wet. Soon more drops of water began to fall from the sky. I started running looking for some sort of shelter. Thunder boomed. I kept running until I tripped on a rock. Standing up I looked back. There was a large hole, like some entrance to an underground cave. I took a step forward and hopped in. It turned out that it was an underground cave, a big one. I looked around and noted that it was getting dark and that I would need a fire. I left my sack of food on the floor and ran outside. I returned with an arm full of wood. I lifted two pinecones that lay among the pile. Crumbling them up I searched around for some flint. I found a few of them near the entrance. Picking up one that was slightly larger than my hand I headed back to the pile of wood. After getting a good fire going, I added a long piece of wood slightly into the fire so I could pick it up later. As I waited I wondered why father had asked me to leave. I had broken rules before. Why had this time been different? Once I thought the piece of wood had burned a little I lifted it up and headed deeper into the cave. I was curious about what lay in the back.
