Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
My first fanfic posted anywhere...wow...
Anyway, I wrote this back in January, while I was in the middle of my Twilight Princess phaze. (I still am!) So expect a lot of spoilers. And yes, the reason all of the story happened anyway couldn't possibly happen if you look at the events of the game, so ignore that. It's only rated T for some swearing late into the story. Now, enjoy! Chapter #1: Speculations and the Dream It all began with a dream… I sprinted across this unfamiliar territory, glancing over my shoulder as I ran. The large black boar was still there. I ran to a long, cracked bridge and paused a moment. The bridge had no guardrails, but I was sure it couldn’t hold a massive pig. On the pessimist side, however, the bridge could support the weight of the boar and it could knock me over the edge. I made a snap decision and dashed onto the bridge. The boar followed. I screamed and ran. The pig was nearing. I guess the bridge was strong enough. The boar snorted and hooked a tusk around my waist. I was so scared I couldn’t even peep as I fell to my doom. Halfway down the pit… …my eyes flicked open, and I was staring at my bedroom ceiling. The falling sensation was gone. I petted my dog for comfort. “ Fifth time this week, buddy,” I whispered. “ I’ve never had dreams last this long…” I tried to recall if I knew any of the places in my dream. A large field, with puddles scattered across it. The long, cracked bridge. The huge black boar. I moaned and rubbed my temples, trying to think. The field had a name, as did the bridge and the boar. I knew I knew it, it had something to do with Zelda. Zelda. Link. Ganon. Ganon; that was it. The name of the boar. Dark Beast Ganon. I was angry with myself for not thinking of it before. Now the bridge. It was somewhere in Eldin Province, near Kakariko Village. It was where you fought King Bulblin. “ The Bridge of Eldin!” I exclaimed quietly. “ In Hyrule Field!” Now I knew the names of everything in my dream. Now to figure out why I dreamt it all. The next day I asked my dad about it. “ I think you play too much Zelda,” he chuckled. “ Maybe if you give it a break, you’ll stop dreaming about it.” I sighed. “ I guess so,” I mumbled. I didn’t tell him that I thought it meant more than just me playing it too much. The rest of the day I was depressed. I sat in our gaming chair and played Twilight Princess for a while. The familiar, calming music soothed me as soon as I turned it on. Once I gained control of Link, I ran him and his horse Epona through Eldin Province and over the Bridge of Eldin over and over. Every dash through reminded me of my dream. The bridge looked exactly the same, as did the field. I turned Epona around and was about to dash back over the bridge when I heard a voice. It was such a surprise that I dropped the controller and spun around. No one else was in the room. I gave a sigh of relief and picked the controller back up. It came again, this time louder. Land blessed by goddesses three, the people there they need thee I gasped and dropped the controller again. The voice was in my head! Suddenly the room turned pitch black. The deep endless black, like on nights without a moon. My stomach plummeted in fear. A large blue rimmed hole opened in the air in front of me. Blue lines emanated from the center. It looked like a twilight portal from Twilight Princess. I stood from sitting on blackness and walked on blackness toward the portal. I reached out and brushed it with my fingertips and nearly screamed at what I saw. My fingers quickly turned into small squares, which got sucked into the hole. Soon it spread to the rest of my body and I was gone; into the portal. Any constructive criticizim is accepted, and wanted. Reply please! No replys? Well, it's the next day, so time for a new chapter! The main character is a girl, the name is only a nickname. Enjoy-aroo! Chapter #2: Mr. Hero and the Land of Hyrule I smelled grass. Fresh grass, the thick growing variety. Not like the thin, dry grass that grows in the desert. Without opening my eyes, I tested my fingers. Still there, thank god. Eyes still shut tight, I rolled over onto my back. I smiled as the grass hardly bent under my weight. Then I heard a voice. It was familiar, like one I’d heard a million times before, but of someone I never knew. “ Wake up. Please, give me a sign.” I opened my eyes, sat up a bit, and nearly passed out again. Kneeling in front of me was a guy who was strangely familiar but at the same time a complete stranger. His dirty blond hair fell over his deep blue eyes in the most charming way. He wore chain mail under a green tunic and a matching green cap. A sword and shield were slung over his left shoulder. Brown boots were tugged over baggy cream leggings; leather gloves were worn on the hands. Only the fingertips were exposed, down to the second knuckle. The boy looked relieved that I had sat up. “ Thank goddesses you woke!” he exclaimed. The voice told me he couldn’t have been much older than I, maybe sixteen. I stared at him, then decided now would be a great time to be sarcastic. “ Nice way to greet someone you’ve never met, Link,” I said. “ Oh, you’re dead? Let me wake you up.” “ How do you know my name?” Link asked, astonished. I clapped a hand over my mouth. Of course he wouldn’t know about video games! “ Sorry, dude!” I said quickly. “ I’m Sai.” I held out a hand, as most other countries said hello like this. Link tentatively shook it. The moment his bare fingertips touched my skin my stomach gave a jolt. After reading the book The Giver, my dad liked to call these feeling the stirrings. All part of growing up. After the handshake, Link seemed more open. He told me where I was, down to the province. I told him where I was from. The country, at least. “ I am in Hyrule…yay…” I mumbled happily, running in what felt like slow-mo around the field. As I stopped, I walked back over to Link. “ I can’t believe I’m really in Hyrule,” I told him. “ I’m sure I am, but prove it, please? Do something Hylian.” Link stood for a moment, pondering this, then pulled his hair back behind his ears. I got a good clear look at them. “ You have round ears, like an Ordonian,” he said, using one hand to point at my ear’s general direction. “ I have normal ears, like a Hylian.” I nodded as I looked. Link’s ears were long and pointed, and they stuck out to the sides a bit. A small blue hoop earring was on each ear. I wondered how I missed them. He let his hair back down and looked at the horizon. Link turned to me. “ Twilight is upon us. We must get somewhere before nightfall,” he said. “ The Wolf Stalfos will be out soon.” “ How about Castle Town?” I offered. “ Although I don’t know how to get there very fast.” Link gave me another look, one that told me that he knew I wasn’t telling him everything. “ We can get to Castle Town on my horse, Epona,” he said. “ Although I still don’t know how you know this much about Hyrule without being here before.” “ I’ll tell you at the hotel or wherever we’re going,” I replied. Link nodded, then pulled a horseshoe shaped flute from his pocket. It was the Horse Call. After a short whistle of Epona’s Song, his horse trotted up and stuck her muzzle in Link’s hair. Epona was huge. She looked like a draft horse, but she was saddled like a riding horse. “ Now, grab the saddle horn and I’ll push you up,” Link said. I paused for a moment. I was very apprehensive about climbing aboard this huge horse. Link saw my fear and laughed. “ Don’t worry, she won’t bite,” he said, laughing. “ I’ve known Epona for a long time, and so far she hasn’t seriously hurt anyone. Except me.” I gulped and walked forward. Epona looked at me, her big doe eyes making me feel a bit safer. I grabbed the saddle horn like Link said and he helped me up. He climbed aboard behind me, a lot more graceful than I, and grabbed the reins. “ Now, we’ll start out at a trot, and if you feel comfortable, we’ll break into a gallop,” Link said, tapping Epona with his heel to make her walk. In truth, I’ve only been on a horse twice, and both times I’d only been allowed to go as fast as a brisk walk. A trot was a lot faster, and a lot more fun. I felt secure in the wrap of Link’s arms. It was like I had known him forever. The real him, not the one from video games. Halfway to Castle Town, midway through Lanayru Province, I saw something come out of the ground. A skeletal dog thing, with patches of dried skin all over it. I began to freak. “ Don’t worry, I’ll go around it,” Link said as more came up. “ But we still have no choice. We have to gallop to avoid confrontation.” Giving Epona a sharp tap, she neighed and we were off. The wind blew in my face, causing my eyes to water. I didn’t shut them, as I wanted to see all landmarks on this exhilarating rush. Soon we were at the town’s entrance, and I could see Hyrule Castle, in full glory. If you’ve ever played Twilight Princess and stopped to look at the castle, it was magnificent then. As Link helped me down and tied Epona to the posts outside the wall, I looked at it. It was even more beautiful than anyone could imagine. The towers touched the sky, and were much higher than the surrounding wall. The bricks were bright white, even in the dimming sunlight. I was stunned. “ Magnificent, isn’t it?” I turned at the sound of Link’s voice. “ Where I come from, in America, there aren’t any castles,” I told him. “ There are buildings as big as this, but not as pleasing to the eye.” Link looked stunned. “ No castles? Where does the king live?” I laughed. “ We don’t have a king. Our leader is the president, and he lives in the White House.” Link looked even more puzzled. “ What about the princess?” “ The president’s daughter? She’s just called the president’s daughter.” Link looked like he understood, but the look in his eyes said he didn’t. Link took me to Telma’s Bar for dinner. We had something that looked and tasted like chicken. “ Flame roasted cucco, just like you like it, honey,” Telma said as she served us our dinner. “ And I hope your friend likes it, too.” I wasn’t a fan of grilled chicken, but I was starving at any rate. After the first bite I could tell it was cooked over a real grill. We didn’t have restaurants like that in America anymore. “ This is great!” I exclaimed as I was halfway though my second leg. I don’t even like leg meat. Link stared at my incredible appetite. Only one other person barbecued like this, and that was my dad. Dad. I wonder if he called the cops about this. They couldn’t find me here. I set my cucco leg back on my plate. Link noticed this. “ What’s wrong?” he asked. “ I-I-I want to go home…” I whispered to my plate. “ I miss my dad…” “ Don’t take this offensively, but I don’t think you can go home for a while,” Link said. “ I’m really sorry.” If I wasn’t in a restaurant next to other people, I would have fallen on the floor and just bawled my eyes out. Instead I buried my face in my hands and cried silently. “ I didn’t mean to make you cry, Sai,” Link said sincerely. “ I know. It’s not your fault,” I mumbled. “ I cry to much…” I felt Link pull my hand down and put a napkin in it. I wiped my eyes. “ I know what it feels like to be in a new place, doing things I never could imagine,” he said. “ And I know what it feels like to be homesick. At least I’m not making you my slave!” I managed a smile. I knew what he was talking about. When Link first got turned into a wolf, Midna, a Twilit being, forced him to do her bidding. All Link did to me was make me ride a horse. “ Well, if we’re done, let’s stop at the hotel down the street and crash,” I said. My voice nearly started to crack again. Link nodded and placed two yellow rupees on the table. What do you think? If you want more, you have to pay me $20. Kidding. Just keep reading. This may not be getting any replys, but at least it's being read. Someone voted on the poll, too. I feel so special... Chapter #3: To Ordon That night I had a dream. Once again I was running across the Bridge of Eldin, Ganon hot on my tail. The dream felt so real; I could feel Ganon’s hot breath on my neck. As the boar once again hooked me and threw me over the edge, there was a new factor in the dream. A voice, a familiar voice, screaming for me, then screaming in pain. I nearly fell out of the hotel’s hard bed as I sat bolt upright. I knew that voice, but couldn’t put a finger on it. I looked over at Link. I wanted desperately to wake him up and tell him about the dream, but he looked so peaceful, sleeping there. Instead I looked around the room. Link’s equipment was on a table at the far end of the room. The sword I recognized instantly. It was the Master Sword, the blade of evil’s bane. Only a true hero could wield it. The shield I knew, too. A Hylian shield, used by the knights of Hyrule. From the size of it, it was probably very heavy. There was also a bow and a huge quiver, filled all the way with arrows. I wanted to explore Link’s stuff, but decided against it. I fell back into the rock-like pillow and tried to sleep again. I think I did sleep again, because when I opened my eyes sunlight was streaming through the window. Link was sitting on his bed, pulling on his boots. “ Getting ready so early?” I said to him. He nodded. “ We have a few places to go today. First, we have to get you some different clothes,” Link said. “ Your clothes are…odd.” I looked at myself. I was wearing a pair of torn blue jeans and a black shirt. Over that I wore a leather jacket. Suede, I believe. My shoes were worn sneakers. Not very girly clothes, besides the jacket. “ So I need to get a dress or something?” I asked. “ I hate dresses, but if I need to blend in: okay.” Link tossed on his sword and shield. “ If you’re going to travel with me, I would recommend a tunic,” Link said. “ Dresses are a tad too bushy for traveling.” “ And where are we going after that?” “ Ordona Province. I wanted to ask…someone…about your predicament.” Jeez. For a sixteen-year-old, Link had some fine grammar. I shrugged it off, then remembered the dream. “ Link, for the past couple nights I’ve been having a very weird freaky dream,” I said. “ I’m running through a field and Gan…I mean a huge boar chases me over a bridge then knocks me to my doom. Last night there was a familiar voice screaming after I fell.” Link opened the room door and walked out. His eyes showed he was thinking. Those eyes were so expressive. “ Were you having these dreams back in America?” Link asked. I nodded and he went back into thought. He was silent all the way to Malo Mart. Malo Mart scares me. Everyone is so happy and they all sing and there is this freaky music…ugh. I thought it was only in the video game, but. Yeah. At least they sold clothes. I wandered around, pawing though the baskets of tunics. There was a nice yellow one, but it was too small. I finally decided on a blue one. It had a green dragon embroidered on the right shoulder. They don’t make clothes like that in America, that’s for sure. “ How about this belt?” Link asked in an annoyed tone. He held out a leather belt to me. I laughed. “ It was your idea to come here,” I giggled as I accepted the belt. Twenty minutes and fifty-five rupees later I was walking out of Castle Town with Link. I was wearing my new clothes: the blue tunic, a pair of green capris, the belt, my leather jacket, and a pair of leather shoes. I felt truly Hylian, except the ears. “ Now to Ordona Province,” Link said as he helped me onto Epona. “ I’m sure you’ll like it there. There are squirrels, and little birds, and fish, and of course, the Ordon goats.” I was trembling with anticipation. I was going to Ordon Village, Link’s birthplace! Yippee! “ Let’s go!” I cried, with more enthusiasm then I meant to let out. Epona let out a startled whinny and began to charge. Link tugged back on the reins hard and she stopped. “ Lesson one: never startle a horse,” Link said. I looked at him, embarrassed. Link’s gaze softened a little and we set out. It was a long journey to Ordon Village. It was across Lanayru Province and Faron Province. I was sure I would see many of the monsters I encountered on the game. I did. “ That’s a Baba serpent,” Link said, gesturing to a large red plant. It hissed as we walked by. I wasn’t scared; those things were pushovers. “ And that’s a Bokoblin.” Link was pointing to a humanoid purple monster. It was chatting with another. Those things didn’t scare me, either. “ What’s that?” I asked, pointing to a thing with a hard metal armor. I knew what it was, I just didn’t say. “ That’s a Helmasaur.” I nodded as I watched. There were three, one smaller than the others. The two big ones were ganging up on the little one. My heart went out for it. “ Link, stop Epona a minute.” Link stared at me. “ Why?” I pointed to the Helmasaurs. Link rapidly shook his head. “ Those are monsters! You’ll get hurt!” he loudly yelled. I ignored him and crawled under his arm, off Epona. The Helmasaurs looked at me as I approached, and I suddenly realized how big they were. They were fairly small in stature, but big in muscle. I heard Link yell, but I ignored him and neared the small Helmasaur. It was on the ground, and one of its stout legs had a long gash on it. It squealed like a pig as I tried to touch it. I was so focused on that one I didn’t see the others prepare to charge. Suddenly I heard the distinct sound of metal against metal and I cringed. “ Sai, step away from the Helmasaur,” I heard Link say. I looked up just as the other two ran away. Exactly what I did on Twilight Princess. “ Link, it’s hurt…” I said, placing a hand on the creature’s armor. I saw Link sigh. “ What do you want to do? Heal it?” he said. His sword was still prepared to strike. “ Yeah. I want to heal it,” I said. The Helmasaur had stopped squealing by now, and was staring at Link with fear. “ I bet if we take care of it, it won’t attack people.” “ Who’s ‘we’? If I let you take it, you’re going to take care of it.” There was a tone of steel in his voice. I bet he wasn’t going to let me help the Helmasaur. The creature put on its most pitiful look and stared directly at Link’s eyes. I felt so bad for this thing, and if Link…dropped his sword, per se…forget it. I suddenly heard Link sheath his sword. “ Fine. You have to carry it, though.” I would have cheered if I wasn’t picking up the Helmasaur. I thought it would be heavy, but it weighed little more than my little dog at home. Link mounted Epona, in a huff, and told me to follow. I attempted to climb aboard, but the Helmasaur took up my arms, and Link told me to walk. I walked behind, giving angry, yet slightly happy, glances at Link the whole way. Please, please someone post! The poll read one vote for "Meh." I need to know what's wrong with it! I am in no way a perfectionist, but I still would enjoy feedback. Okay, it hurts me to say this once I finally got a story out and about, but, if after this chapter, no one replys, I'm asking the mods to lock the thread. Maybe I'll start a new thread, with an original story, but only time will tell. Chapter #4: Friends“ Hey, guy! Nice to see you again! And you have a friend!” Coro the lantern salesman. Not much I noticed about him, except he had a bird’s nest in his hair. Link waved from up on Epona. I tried to wave, but the Helmasaur took up my arms. “ Almost there,” Link called back to me. “ You can put the thing at my house before we reach the village.” I bet I glowed at that moment. I was going to Link’s house! Amazegabing! I was going to explore his house like on the game, except this time for real! The Helmasaur squealed and tried to jump away, but my arms held it tight. For the most part. It wriggled free and dashed ahead, up next to Link, who was in a tunnel. It was limping badly and a thin trail of blood followed it. I gasped and sprinted ahead. For an injured monster, it could run pretty fast. I heard a squeal and I feared the worst. What if Link…no, he wouldn’t. Then I heard a whinny and a thud, and Link began to swear. I soon saw him on the ground. Epona was nowhere to be seen. “ What did you do?” he demanded, rubbing the back of his head. I helped him up than ran again, following the blood trail. I caught up with the Helmasaur at a pool of shimmering water on the other side of a bridge. Epona was there, too. The Helmasaur was splashing in the water, squealing in delight. The cut was almost gone. “ The water. I forgot it has healing powers,” Link said. He had just caught up and was catching his breath. “ The Spirit Spring. I forgot, too,” I said without thinking. “ How do you know all this stuff!” Link exclaimed. “ You said you’d never been to Hyrule before, and you still know about the capitol city and the Spirit Spring!” I sighed. “ Back home, there’s this thing called a GameCube. There’s also a game called The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.” I looked at Link. “ And you’re the main character. That’s how I knew your name and Hyrule geography. I didn’t need you telling me about the monsters, because I already knew.” Link looked like he couldn’t decide whether to believe me or not. “ Well, knowing Hylian history, almost anything can happen here,” he said after a long pause. “ And I believe your story. There’s one thing I don’t understand, though. If no one in your world believes in Hyrule, how could they create a whole virtual world with it?” I shrugged. “ Maybe Mr. Myamoto isn’t letting off all he knows,” I replied, shuffling my feet in the water. The Helmasaur walked up to me and stared at my face. “ It looks tame enough,” Link said. “ You can keep it, if you name it.” I was overjoyed. Link wasn’t going to kill it! “ I’ll call you Henry,” I said, patting the Helmasaur on the head. It made a funny noise, halfway between a squeal and a laugh. It was weird. Link grabbed Epona’s reins and told me to follow him down the shady lane to Ordon Village. Link’s house is big. Three tiers and a basement. Much taller than my house. I set up a basket lined with a blanket for Henry before leaving with Link to the village. I was so exited. I was going to meet the mayor, and Colin, and Talo, and Ilia…the list never ended. We were going straight to the ranch before heading off to where Link wanted to go. He was greeted warmly by everyone in the village, and I shook hands with more people than I could count. “ I’m going up to the mayor’s for a moment,” Link said when we visited Talo and Malo’s place. Talo was a hyper little kid, around my brother’s age, who wanted to know everything. “ So are you really from another country?” he asked excitedly after Link had left. I nodded, wondering why Link had left me here with these weird little kids. “ Do you know any sword moves?” he asked. I shook my head. “ Can you talk to animals?” I tried my hardest to be patient with Talo. “ Do you know anyone else who can talk to animals?” I asked, trying not to unleash the evil within. Talo shook his head. “ Can you use a slingshot?” This time it was Malo who spoke. He looked to be about five, so it was easier to not get mad at him. “ No, but if you have one I’d like to try,” I replied. Talo and Malo shook their heads. “ Wow, Sai, I didn’t know you were the type to use weapons,” I heard someone say behind me. Link was standing there. “ Well, as long as I’m not killing anything,” I said. Link smiled and pulled out his slingshot. “ Don’t hit anyone.” I beamed and pulled back the slingshot thing and let it go. Nothing happened. “ Try using the ammo!” Talo yelled. I could feel myself turn red as I placed a pumpkin seed on the string. This time I burst a small pumpkin on a table. Talo cheered. After a few more rounds Link pulled me aside. “ We have to go to the ranch now,” he said. “ You seem the type of person that likes animals, so I bet you will like the goats.” I almost jumped up and down, but decided that would cause a scene. Instead I walked calmly to the ranch. Fado, the guy who runs the ranch, isn’t a retard like the game makes him seem. Right at that moment he was petting one of the large blue goats in the pasture. Link told me to wait then snuck up behind Fado. Link baa’ed, sounding just like a goat, and kicked Fado in the shin as he turned around. I was stunned, as Link didn’t seem like the kind of guy who would do that. But he was a boy, after all. “ Link! You haven’t got me like that in a while!” Fado exclaimed, clutching his shin. “ Are you here to help heard the goats?” Link shook his head. “ No, I’m here to introduce a friend, then heard the goats.” Link called me over. Being the shy person I was, it took me a while to get to Fado. When I arrived, he held out his hand. “ Pleased to meet you, Sai,” he said as I shook his hand. “ Do you want to meet the goats? I saw you eyeing them from over in the corner.” That was true. The goats were much cuter than the goats in America. They were blue, big, and had their horns connect in a loop over their head. I nodded and Fado called over a goat. It ambled up and baa’ed. Fado explained how to pet a goat and not make it mad. I reached my hand out and rubbed it behind the ears. It was soft, no, beyond soft. Like velvet on steroids. The goat closed its eyes in enjoyment. I smiled, too. I felt at home here, more at home than at Castle Town. Ordon Village was like my own home: quiet, and it’s possible for everybody to know everybody. “ See, Sai, how soft the goat’s fur is?” Link said. “ That’s what the softest blankets in Hyrule are made of. Ordon goats are a multipurpose animal.” Link seemed really happy here, and there was no reason for him not to be. This was his home, after all. I almost burst out crying again, thinking of my home, but Link’s happiness was contagious. Soon I was laughing along with Fado as Link rounded up the goats. The smile on his face was bigger than any smile I’d ever seen before. I’m the kind of person who’s happy when others are, so my own problems were washed away while watching Link. Before long night had fallen and I was going to stay at Link’s. On the way back it was mostly silent. “ Why did you do that today?” I asked. Link turned his head. “ Do what?” “ Take me to the ranch. Show me the village,” I replied. “ Because you just seemed so…melancholy,” Link answered. “ And I like to help people, especially my…” I glanced at him. “ Your what?” “ My…friends.” My stomach dropped to the ground. Link…said…Link said he was my friend. After a moment of silence, the crickets started to chirp. “ You’re my friend, too, Link.” Through the darkness, I could almost see him smile. Please reply, I don't want to shut this down... ![]()

Why would no one reply? I liked it. Come on people, if you have 'something better to do' than post here, why click it at all? Honestly.
Aside from a few typos, It was great! You rekindled my intrest in TP and everything. Keep it up, I'm bummed there wasn't more but glad I got here in time to keep you from shutting it down. I bet Nintendo Power might publish that as monthly installments or something. Anyone from Nintendo browsing? You don't mind if I put a link in my sig, do you? |

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
I'm ba-ack! Though I was dead, did you?
Anyone miss me? ...didn't think so. Someone posted! That means it's time for another chapter. And yes, kekenkenka, you can put a link in your sig. Chapter #5: The Kidnapping…of Me I had another dream during the night. I began to hate the night, as it meant more fear, more pain, more unnamed screams. Tonight I had something to comfort me, however. Henry slept next to me on the goat hair blanket on the second tier. His metal armor was cold but the rest of him was warm. I hugged him. Henry didn’t care. Link gave an almighty snore and I jumped. Link was on the topmost tier, next to the window. I began to wonder if he missed his home when he was off adventuring. I missed my home, that’s for sure. A tear grew and pooled in my eye. It stung, but I didn’t wipe it away. Henry somehow sensed my feelings, woke up, and placed his armored head on my chest. His blue eyes staring at me were comforting. I rolled over, tugging the soft blanket tighter around myself, and fell back asleep. The next day we were off to the person Link wanted to talk to. The trek ended at the Spirit Spring. “ Where is the Light Spirit?” I asked. Link walked to a low waterfall and let it run over his hand. He said something, but I couldn’t hear. Suddenly the sky went black. Odd patterns crept over the large rocks rimming the spring. A ball of light appeared, and a horn grew around it. The horn spread and made a large goat. Large and white, with darker lines that looked like the patterns on the surrounding rocks. “ …Chosen Hero…I am pleased to see you again…” the goat spoke. “ Hello, Ordona,” Link said, bowing low. I did the same. “ …I see you have brought another person…not Hylian, I can tell…” Ordona had a light voice, like how some people imagined angels to sound. “ Yes. Sai was somehow brought here from America by forces we cannot comprehend,” Link continued. “ She said the portal looked like a Twilight portal.” I nodded quickly. Ordona looked surprised. “ …Can the Twilight be coming back…?” Ordona swished its tail nervously. “ …You defeated the one behind the darkness, did you not…?” Link nodded. I stood, knowing I was in the presence of something special and not knowing what to do. While Link was talking with Ordona, I heard a twig snap somewhere behind me. I glanced around and saw nothing. Henry and Epona were back at Link’s house, so it couldn’t have been them. A large, cold hand suddenly clamped over my mouth and I was dragged away. I clawed at the hand furiously and hoped Link would notice. He did. He drew his sword and charged, his surprise and fury obvious on his face. I was scared. More than scared. Terrified. The hand, which I assumed was on a body, stuffed me roughly into a sack. I screamed for my dear life. “ Link!” I called. Tears were rolling down my face in fear. I sobbed uncontrollably as I called again. “ Let her go!” Link yelled. “ Take me instead!” A deep laugh, like Ganondorf’s, rolled out above me. “ No! The boss needs her! Not some dork in tights!” Through the fear in my brain I thought this guy had to be from my world. No one in Hyrule talked like that. “ Please, let her go!” The man laughed again and dragged me, in the sack, away. I was crying. The man was laughing. Link chased after us. Then I heard it. A loud bang. A gunshot. Link cried out in anguish. I heard his sword land in the soil, blade first, with a loud thunk. “ Take that, stupid ass!” I think I just shut down then, because I couldn’t remember anything Ooh, finally, some action! And swearing! The story's getting good! Later!

Constructive Critism: Why does Henry feel warm? That metal shell you'd think would be cold.
What I wanted to say: Great! Keep up the good work. I'm interested to see who this mysterious gangsta is. |

Henry is cold, if you remember
Quote:
Well, next chapter coming up! Chapter #6: The Face of Evil “ I got her.” “ Prove it.” I was dumped out of the sack onto a sandstone floor. My face was hot and sticky with tears. I stared at the floor, trying to remember what happened. Link was shot, and then… “ Well, she isn’t much,” a very deep voice said. I was sure, so sure that I would bet my life, that that voice belonged to the King of Evil. “ She’s not much, but she has it.” The man with the deep voice laughed. “ Prove it, as well.” The first man pulled me up by the collar of my tunic to a standing position. I stood, reluctantly. “ Bring out the Lizalfos,” the deep voiced man said. I looked up. A huge lizard, with a sword and shield and an axe-shaped tail, was advancing on me. “ What do you want me to do?” I demanded. I was hoarse from all the crying. “ Do what you do,” the first man said. “ You know, the Understanding.” I had no idea what he was talking about. A huge lizard is going to kill me and you want me to do something I don’t know I can do? Not happening. I dared myself to look directly at the Lizalfos’ eyes. They were a yellow color, with a thin sliver of black for a pupil. Then I saw it: a small tint of emotion in the otherwise dull eyes. The monster didn’t want to be a monster. It had feelings, too. I walked toward the Lizalfos. “ You really don’t want to kill me,” I said to it. It stopped walking and lowered its weapons. “ You’re under the influence of something truly evil. That true evil probably is going to kill you if you don’t kill me.” The Lizalfos closed its eyes and nodded. Behind me a man groaned. “ She has the Understanding, but she understands too well,” the deep voiced man said. “ Take her to the dungeon before she influences the rest of my army.” I gasped. The cold-handed man dragged me away, toward a steep staircase. “ No!” I cried. I was talking without thinking. “ If you don’t kill me, I’ll become a great asset to your army!” The man holding me turned me around. In front of me was now a very intimidating man. On video games, you don’t get the full gist of evil from bad guys. In real life, that bad guy turns into your worst nightmares brought to life. Ganondorf, for that was the one in front of me now, looked me up and down. “ You don’t look very good. Kind of chubby, actually.” I wanted to leap forward and wring Ganondorf’s stupid neck, but knew he would kill me if I tried. Instead, I talked without thinking again. “ I won’t battle. I can convince people to die with my Understanding or whatever.” I tried so hard not to be thrown in the dungeon. Talking without thinking was a talent of mine. Ganondorf was not happy. “ I think it’ll take more than just talking to people to make them die,” he said. His eyes were filled with pure evil. “ I have something better in mind…” My eyes grew wide with terror. I was so afraid for my life I didn’t even try to reason. Ganondorf raised a staff. It was blood red, with a black orb on the end. He waved it once and everything went black. Not the longest, I know, but it reveals a lot. (I think...) Just a question, but after this story is done, would anyone like to read an original story? My computer is filled with them. New chapter. It's a bit belated, due to school. Chapter #7: Dragon Knight-ing Am I dead? No, I’m thinking so I’m not dead. What happened? I was at the Spirit Spring with Link and then… The gunshot! The man! Ganondorf! He waved his cane thing and… I opened my eyes quickly. I was in a cell. A dungeon cell, with mold on the ceiling and a rat hole in the wall. I was sitting on a hard wooden bed. I looked at myself and cried out in fear. I was scaly. Light brown scaled covered my underarms and dark brown everywhere else. I was still in my blue tunic, but there were two large holes in the back where wings had burst through. I had a tail and clawed hands and feet. My neck was longer, and my head was lizard-like. Looking cautiously at a pool of water in the corner, I knew instantly what I had turned into. Ganondorf had turned me into a dragon knight. I remembered fighting dragon knights on Twilight Princess. They were agile and fast, and they could fly. But if I escaped and made it back to Link, what would he do? Would he kill me? Would he see through the outside to the real me inside? And what about Henry? My thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the wooden door. I glanced outside. A Lizalfos was standing there, looking intently at me. “ Hey,” it said. “ Sorry about earlier.” What was going on? How was this thing talking to me? “ Are you the Lizalfos I talked to?” I asked. It nodded. I guess monsters can talk to monsters. “ I’ll get you out,” it said. “ Later, after the Twilight Ceremony.” The Lizalfos walked away without another word. My mind began to run again. Twilight Ceremony? What the hell was going on? The Lizalfos did come back, after an unusually early twilight. He broke the door down with his tail. “ Now, my buddies used to get stuck in here all the time, so there’s a loose stone in the wall in the back,” he said, pushing every brick on the back. I helped. Suddenly my hand went through the wall. “ That’s it!” the Lizalfos cried. “ Now, push the four other blocks around it, and you’re free! I’m still sorry.” I shook his hand, thanked him, and crawled out the now open hole. My new claws were built for crawling along sheer walls. I crawled to the bottom of the wall and looked around. I was somewhere in the Gerudo Desert, by the looks of it. It was night. “ What do I do now…” I thought out loud. Then I remembered: I had wings! Leaping into the air, I snapped my wings out, feeling the hot desert air pocket beneath them. I pushed down, then pulled up. Establishing a rhythm, I was soon soaring over the desert to the big pool of water over the sheer rock wall. Lake Hylia was getting closer by the minute. MEANWHILE Link clutched his wounded shoulder, wondering what the thing that hurt him was. “ …They took her…” Ordona said. “ …I know why…” Link spun around. Tears were falling to the ground, both from the pain and her kidnapping. He hadn’t felt this bad since his best friend got kidnapped. “ Why was she taken away?” Link shouted to the light goat. “ Please, tell me!” Ordona looked at Link calmly. “ …She has the Understanding…” it said quietly. “ The what?” “ …The Understanding…She can feel the emotions of others….” Link’s mind clicked. That’s why she wanted to help Henry when he was injured. That’s how she calmed down a little when Epona looked at her. It all made sense now! Link splashed some water from the spring on his bullet wound, feeling it heal slightly under his fingers. “ I’ve got to save her,” he muttered. “ I’ve got to keep her safe till she can go home.” Link rose from the spring. “ Ordona, I’m going to leave.” Ordona nodded understandingly and disappeared into the spring. A really bad twist, I know. But it's probably got you hooked. ![]()

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
Very nice fanfic, QueenofCows! It's very immersing. Can't wait to see what happens next.
But try to work on separating paragraphs to make it more readable, and fix that annoying space after the first quotation mark. Other than that, keep on going!

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
Hey, everybody, got a new chapter for you all!
I hope you enjoy! Chapter #8: Reunion with Link My wings ached. I had been flying all night, till the break of dawn, and only made it to Lanayru Province. I scanned the landscape, looking around, just in case Link had begun to look for me. My wings began to cramp, and I had no choice but to land. I swooped down and landed ungracefully in a tree. Clutching the trunk with my claws, I looked around for Link. Link. The only word my exhausted mind would register. I was tired and needed sleep. Carefully leaning against the trunk, I closed my eyes and fell into a restless sleep. I was running across Eldin Province, back in my human form. My legs pumped hard. I was doing anything to put distance between Ganon and I. I neared the bridge and pumped across it. This time I saw a figure on the other end. He was dressed in green, and his left arm was bandaged. It was Link! I tried to call for him, but as I neared my body shifted. I reverted back to dragon knight form and tripped. Ganon latched his tusk around me and tossed me into the pit. I heard the voice scream for me. I now knew who it was as I fell to my doom. “Link!” I cried, my eyes opening into the bright light of midday. I looked at myself. Still a dragon. I sighed, thinking about the dream. What if what happened in the dream happens for real? I would die, Link would die, and Ganon would reign supreme. Launching myself from the tree, I soared away, toward Ordona Province. I had to get to Link and explain, somehow, what happened. I saw Helmasaurs, Bokoblins, and Baba serpents on my flight over Hyrule. Then I saw something else. A bumbling, clumsy person was fighting his way through a cluster of Deku Babas. He was loosing. I saw him take a step then fall. I knew who it was. Diving low, I let out an unearthly screech and tackled a Deku Baba. It hardened into a Deku nut, which I promptly threw at another plant. Spinning around, I killed the other three with my tail. The plants dead, I turned to Link. He became frightened and raised his shield. “Stay back! I’ll stab!” he cried, brandishing his sword. I noticed a blood stained bandage on his left shoulder. I didn’t know what to do to tell him it was I. I stepped closer. Link swiped his sword. I jumped back quickly. What to do? As I scrabbled to keep out of sword range, I noticed what my tail did in the dirt. It was like a pencil, doodling patterns. I drew a picture in the dirt with my tail. It was a picture of me, albeit a stick person. Over it I wrote the word ME. “Sai?” Link asked in astonishment. I nodded. Not being able to talk really took it out of me. Link dropped his sword and shield and ran over to me, grabbing my shoulders. “It is you! Thank goddesses you’re safe!” Before I could react Link pulled me into a hug. I had never had any of my friends hug me for real like this. I was suddenly overcome with emotion and started to cry. After about five minutes I pulled myself off Link. He looked straight at my face. “It’s your eyes,” he said. “ They stayed the same.” I nodded, as it was the only thing I could do. “Don’t worry, Henry is fine,” Link said, answering the question that formed in my head. “And we have to get you to the princess. She helped me when…it happened.” We began walking toward the castle. I was glad Link didn’t attack or worse. I saw Hyrule Castle again, and it was still beautiful. I was going to enter that castle, and walk its halls, and meet the princess. Suddenly I felt something hit my neck and I nearly passed out after falling to the ground. Reaching up, I felt some sort of needle sticking out. Who knew medieval people had tranquilizers? “What in Din’s name was that for?” Link shouted. I barely heard anything through the fog clouding my brain. “It was coming right for me,” another voice said. “Yes, she was! We’re going to see the princess!” “And do what? Kill her?” I heard Link sigh, then I felt arms around me. Link’s face was about a foot from mine. “We’re going. No questions asked,” he said. I really couldn’t see anything, as the drug clouded my vision, but I could tell Link was carrying me. We pushed past the guard into the town. I could barely hear things through my foggy mind. People screaming. Another guard blocking progress. Link saying, “ Come on, man, she’s injured and who knows what else! We need to see the princess!” Then another voice. A light one, like air, and soft like velvet. “Link! What brings you to the castle? And what is that?” I shifted, forgetting I was in Link’s arms. He struggled a bit to keep hold of me. “This is my friend. Something bad happened.” The drug took effect. I passed out, not knowing anything else that happened. I hope that's more readable. And I'll try to promise that the chapters won't be a day apart. It's already written, but homework and school stuff gets in the way of everything. Quote:
Wow, school computer's not blocked for once! I just was passing by on doing a Zelda HTML project and decided to say hi. So, hi! I'm working on an original story, inspired by Resident Evil 4. Notice how I said inspired, not based upon. Here's a small portion of the prologue: Quote:
And now, what you've all been waiting for! Chapter #9: Princess Zelda and the Return of the Twilight I registered soft sheets and a poofy pillow. Groaning, I sat up and opened my eyes. I was in a round room, on a bed. There were fine paintings on the walls, and a large window facing the town. Link was looking out this window, with a girl I didn’t know. Hearing me stir, he turned around. “You’re awake!” he said. Link tapped the girl’s shoulder and she turned around, as well. The breath was sucked out of me. It was Princess Zelda, in her full, not virtual glory. She was beautiful, like the castle in which she lived. “Hello, Sai, I’m Zelda, princess of Hyrule,” she said, holding out a hand. Why would she want to shake hands now? I shook it, still dumbstruck. “Link told me what happened the other night,” Zelda said. “ Do you know where you were taken to?” I nodded, not knowing how Zelda would know where I was, when she handed me a roll of paper and a pen. I hastily wrote down GERUDO DESERT on the paper. Link took the paper. “The man took you to Gerudo Desert?” he asked. “ Who, or what, was there?” I took the paper back and slowly wrote the name of the evil one. Link gasped, as did Zelda. “Ganondorf was there?” Zelda exclaimed. I nodded sadly. “Was he the one who did this to you?” Another nod. I looked out the window to Castle Town below. I felt terrible; what if I could never be human again? Then I noticed a vast wall of gold, tipped on each end by black. I gasped and pointed. “Holy Nayru! A wall of Twilight!” Link shouted, earning him a disapproving glance from Zelda. “No swearing, please,” she said calmly, looking at the Twilight. Her face was calm, but her eyes showed fear. I began to freak again. “What do we do now?” Link said as the wall inched closer. “It’s spreading! Now what?” “Go to the Mirror Chamber. Maybe someone, somehow, reassembled the Mirror of Twilight,” Zelda said. “I’ll get you there.” She clapped her hands once, and in a flash of light we were gone. I looked around. I was on a sandstone building with a huge mirror in front of me. It was shining on a stone a few feet ahead, creating a portal. I looked around, looking for Link. Then I noticed it. The sky was yellow-orange, like twilight back home, except there were small black squares floating everywhere. The world was hazy, like a dream. “Sai, you okay?” I heard from somewhere to my left. There was a wolf, with a stripe of green fur on its head and its tail. I quickly checked myself. I was still a dragon knight, which was better than being a spirit. “Are you okay?” Link asked again, for he was the wolf. “Yeah,” I said, hoping he could understand me now. “Good,” was his reply. “Zelda was right. The Mirror is reassembled.” I nodded, looking at the mirror a few feet ahead. My stomach churned, thinking about how I was in the Twilight. Suddenly there was a thunderclap and a figure formed out of twilight squares in front of us. I flinched as the figure walked forward. I knew who it was. “What a reunion. A wolf and his girlfriend,” Ganondorf chuckled. Link growled fiercely. I snarled, the dragon in me doing the work. Ganondorf laughed again. “What, are you going to attack me?” He spread his hands wide. “Go ahead.” I made one of my dumb decisions and lunged forward, my jaws snapping, smiling inside at the thought of cracking his stupid neck. I almost made it, too. At the last minute he waved his hand and I was thrown to the side. My insides were roaring with pain. Clutching my stomach, I doubled over and fell to the ground. Link padded over and looked at me. Peeking at him through slitted eyes, I knew what he meant when he said my eyes looked the same. He still had his cute blue eyes in the face of a fierce wolf. “How touching. Not that this isn’t sweet,” Ganondorf said. “I think you’ve earned an explanation.” Link and I glared at him. “After my last defeat, I desperately wanted to take control again. Using my power, I rebuilt the Mirror of Twilight, bringing Twilight back to this world. And it doesn’t stop there.” I gulped. “It’s going to other realms, as well.” I knew what that meant, but Ganondorf felt it needed explanation. “It’s spreading. It’ll go to several other worlds, including America, and take them down.” Link quickly glanced at me and then back at Ganondorf. The evil one snapped his fingers and the man who kidnapped me materialized beside him. “I have chosen a select few to watch their homes crumble under my grip, including you and Jake here. You all had a special knowledge that I required, but only Jake’s so far has succeeded. Show them, Jake.” Jake pulled out a handgun from his jeans pocket. “My special power is sharpshooting,” he said menacingly. “ I never miss.” The pain in my belly had ebbed away some, so I got gingerly to my feet. Jake took this as a threat and pointed his gun at me. I became frightened and went into fight-or-flight mode. I took off, shooting past Ganondorf. Jake fired a couple times and missed every time. Some sharpshooter. “Head to the portal!” Link barked, leaping after me. I pumped my wings harder and flew into the circle on the stone. I dissipated into it. When would these portals end? This is where you have to start forgetting TP. I twisted the game to make for a good read.

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
You don't have to play RE4 to read the other one. I simply had a brainstorm while playing the game and had to get it down on paper...digitally.
Get prepared for that one when this one's over! Chapter #10: The Truth behind This Madness It was the Twilight Zone like never before. The sky was weird, the ground was weird, the people were weird, everything was weird. It was another new world. At least when I got home I would have some great stories to tell. If I got home. “We need to find Midna,” Link said, shaking off. He was still a wolf. “ She’ll know what to do, and maybe help us.” I nodded. Link padded ahead, then looked back to me. I followed. The Twili were all chatting with each other, and they ignored us for the most part. Link seemed to know his way around this place, so I simply followed. Eventually we wound up at a throne room. Sitting at the throne was…come on, you all know this. “That’s Midna,” Link said unnecessarily. I nodded. Midna appeared to be sleeping as we approached. Link barked once and she awoke. “Hi doggie,” she said, walking over. “How are you…oh my goodness it’s Link!” Link nodded. Through some strange mind thing they communicated what happened. “So, Ganondorf once again blanketed the land in Twilight, including Sai’s world, so we have to go stop it?” she asked. Link and I nodded. “Okay. Then I need a change of clothes…” Midna walked to a closet, went in, and came out. When she emerged, she was back in her imp form. Part of the Fused Shadows, the helmet, was once again on her head. “Let’s go kick some evil butt!” she shouted, jumping on Link’s back. “But first, we need to go talk to Zelda.” Midna used her warping powers to take us to Hyrule Castle. Jeez, warping gets so old so fast. “Ganondorf is taking over other realms as well?” Zelda was shocked at this news. We were all in Zelda’s bedchamber, once again in the land covered in Twilight. She was unchanged. “We need to find the Light Spirits and awaken them, right?” Midna asked. Zelda shook her head. “This Twilight, it seems unnatural. I can sense the Light Spirits, they are still well,” Zelda said. “But, I think that the other realms are not as lucky.” My heart clenched up. If the Twilight had covered my land, my family would be spirits. That meant that even if I went, they couldn’t see me. Or hear me. That thought almost made me cry again, but I had to be strong. Strong for Link, strong for Midna, strong for Zelda. Strong for me. “I think I know how to get to the other land,” Zelda said. “If you ask the Light Spirits, maybe they can take you there.” Our trio nodded solemnly. We knew where we had to go. Lanayru was first, as it was closest. As I watched the huge snake emerge from the water, I remembered how much I liked this Light Spirit. “…Chosen Hero…Has the Twilight returned?” Lanayru asked. It sounded the same as Ordona, maybe a bit deeper. Midna nodded. “Ganondorf has returned and spread the Twilight again,” she said. “Without my permission.” Lanayru nodded. “…Has it spread to other worlds…?” This time I nodded. I wanted to tell him that my land, my family, was in jeopardy, but had no voice. “…You are from America, in Arizona, no…?” Lanayru asked me. I nodded again. “…Your world has Light Spirits, too…” I gasped. Could Hyrule and America really be linked that deep? Lanayru saw my expression. “…You wouldn’t know…The one in your state, Arizona, has lost its light…” I knew what that meant. It was already too late, unless… “Can you get us there so we can save it?” Midna asked. “Sai’s a friend of Link, and I have to help my friends, so can you?” Lanayru nodded and sank back into the water. I feared the worst, but the spirit’s light returned to the surface and made a portal. I heard a voice in my head, the same as when I first came to Hyrule. You have been confused by authority, you were one of the minority Who actually knew the absolute truth As I pondered this, it came again. You were one of the few right, now step into the light And may the goddesses three help your plight I knew what this meant as I walked into the portal. I was one of the few who knew the truth. About our land, about others. What was real and not. Hyrule was real, connected to ours by the goddesses themselves. Sorry I've been replying so rarely as of late, I've been working on my story. So far, I'm thinkin' it's pretty good. I've been working on it for just over two weeks now. Well, be seeing you!

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
I'd just let Arizona fall to the Twilight. Nobody cares about it anyways.
...Just kidding! Seriously, this is a very good story, so keep posting! And I'm at a loss as to why other people, other than me and kekenka, aren't posting. Lazy idiots. My only complaint would be this: can you separate each line of dialogue into its own paragraph? As in, press "Enter" twice instead of just once? It seems like a wall of text. It'd make it much easier to read. Otherwise, keep it up!

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
Plenty of light, eh? Not as of now. Even though it's super hot, the clouds are covering the sun. And it's windy. Some days it plain sucks down here.
I'm also sorry about the readability of thr story. I'm just copying and pasting, I'll try to fix that this chapter. Chapter #11: No one is Safe. Not Even the Principal. I nearly cried, looking at my homeland covered in Twilight. We were deposited near the end of my street, so I decided to check on my home. As I walked the street, I saw something horrible: a Twilit messenger. And it had a partner. “Dear god no!” I cried. “ This isn’t happening!” I fell to the ground, my wings spread out on either side of me. This was happening, all right. The Twilight was real, as real as my house a few feet ahead. I really was a dragon knight, and my family really did lose me. The only good thing that came out of it was I met Link. “I’ll take care of those monsters, you go check on your family,” Link said, dashing ahead. I sniffed and stood, looking around. I ran to my house and went through the door. My family was on the couch, hugging each other. I walked forward. If I focused, I could see them more clearly. I knew they couldn’t see me. “First Sai disappears and now those Zelda monsters appear, what is going on?” my dad exclaimed. “ Maybe I should have talked to her more about the dreams…” “I don’t wanna die!” my brother cried, wiping his face. My mom stayed silent. I wanted to go hug them, but I was invisible, and I probably would have scared them. I remembered what Midna had said in Twilight Princess: How sad it is to stand right in front of someone and they don’t even know you’re there. I walked out the door and just started to cry. I fell into a lump of emotion on my driveway and waited for Link to return. “I bet I know what happened,” I heard Midna say. “Me, too,” Link said. “I remember what this felt like.” I remembered what I told myself and stood up, trying to wipe away the tears. “It’s a horrible feeling, Link,” I moaned. “I was right there and…it sucks!” Link nodded. “We have to find this Light Spirit and return light to this place,” Midna said. I nodded sadly. We found Arizona’s Spirit Spring under an alcove in the ditch a few blocks from my house. I wondered how I overlooked it. It was a vast, underground pool. “…My light…has been stolen…” a fog said from the middle. “…Collect the… stolen light…in this…” A necklace thing fell from the sky in front of us. I knew we had to find the Tears of Light and bring them here. It should be easier with more people. “We need to split up,” Link said to me. “Yeah. It’ll be a ton easier,” I replied. We walked out of the cavern and looked around. By focusing again, I could see a bug scurry across the dirt. I chased it. Within minutes I found three more. The Vessel of Light would be filled in no time! There were eleven Tears of Light in the ditch, so Link and I teamed up again. “Where should we go next?” Midna asked. “I don’t know anything about this world.” “Let’s go to Sahuarita,” I said. Link nodded. Midna created a portal and warped us there. It was bad enough in Sahuarita with all the buildings, let alone all the Twilight. “Your world has too many people,” Link said, looking at the huge wall of houses behind the school. “I know,” I said. “Too bad no one does anything about it.” “There’s a bug!” Midna cried, pointing to a purple spark. Link chased it down and collected its tear. I noticed we were next to where I ate lunch at school “I know this place…” I murmured. “It sucks to see it like this, even though it’s school…” Link nodded like he understood. Midna yawned. Suddenly I saw a spark off to the left and followed it, squashing the bug and collecting the tear. I couldn’t wait till we found all the light and restored my desert home. I returned with Link and Midna to Arizona’s Spirit Spring after collecting all the tears. It accepted the light and soon a huge Gila monster rose from the water, one of the light balls in its mouth. “…I am Arizona…” it said. “…Thanks to you three, my land has light again…” I went to do a high-five with Link and found myself staring at his normal, Hylian face. “Link!” I cried. “You’re normal again!” “You too!” Link said in response. “Look at yourself!” I did. I was back in my blue tunic and green capris. My clothes looked unchanged. “…I repaired them for you…” Arizona said. “…This came from you when you changed back…” Arizona closed its eyes and an orb slowly lowered into my hands. It was black, like the one Ganondorf used, and about the size of a large marble. “What is it?” I asked, looking it over. “…It contains the evil magic the evil one cast on you…If you wish it to be, you will become a dragon knight as long as you wish…and you can change back as you please…” “Like the Shadow Crystal?” I heard Midna say from no where. I assumed she was in Link’s shadow. Arizona nodded. “We need to get back to Hyrule,” I said. “ My family’s fine for the time being. I need to take Ganondork down.” Man, it felt good to talk again. I really wanted to stay with my family, but I knew that I had to go back and help Link defeat Ganondorf. Again. “Are you sure you don’t want to stay here?” Link asked. “Everything’s back to normal.” “No. Your land is so…beautiful,” I said. “I would hate to see it die.” Arizona looked to us. “…I will create the portal back to Hyrule…” it said, diving into the spring. The ball rose up and turned into the portal. Link stepped in. I looked out of the chamber and gave one last look to my land before walking in. Quote:

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
Good chapter! Now if CALIFORNIA got covered in Twilight, I'd freak out.
![]() I have a little criticism for this chapter, however. I really didn't like the fact that you completely skipped over the bugs of light. You could have given a few more examples, maybe how some of them were hidden in houses of people you used to know but couldn't see you, and you had to break in. Otherwise, nice job.

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
Very nice again! I'm sorry I haven't done much more than say that, but what else to say? Honestly. I like how Arizona is a gila monster. So what would Ohio be? Um... a deer? No... the state animal is a deer though. Maybe either a cardinal or a black racer. (That's these mostly harmless, but annoying little snakes all over the place the second I step out of town. Yeah, they're poisonous but you can hear them szszszszs across the road or whatever unless there sneaking about to hunt- I'm getting off topic aren't I ) |

Re: (ZGen) Connected Worlds (T) TP Spoilers, so beware!
Hey, new people! It makes an author proud to know her work is actually being read.
Next chapter ahoy! Chapter #12: My Real Personality I gazed around, noticing that I was in Twilight. I was still in human form. Link was standing, looking at Hyrule Castle. In Twilight, it wasn’t as magnificent. Midna had come out of Link’s shadow and was staring at the castle, as well. “We’re here,” I said. “Let’s go.” I began marching off toward the castle when Link grabbed my shoulder. “I don’t think Ganondorf is there,” he said. “Where did you say he took you?” “The Gerudo Desert,” I replied. “Why?” “He just might be there,’ Midna answered. “Well then, let’s go there,” I said, marching toward Lake Hylia. Suddenly I turned into squares of twilight and was warped away. We were in Gerudo Desert, near the Cave of Ordeals. Midna was laughing. “Got ya!” she chuckled. “That was a lot faster than riding on a cannon, right?” I nodded. “Where in the desert was it?” Link asked. “I don’t know. It was pretty big, though,” I said. I noticed a large boar with a saddle a few feet away and started towards it. It would be a great means of transportation across this desert. It snorted as I got closer. I tried using my gift to calm it down. “It’s okay…” I murmured, climbing onto its saddle. “Nothing to worry about…” The boar charged suddenly, leaving me to hang onto the reins with all my might. The boar threw itself on the ground, sending me sliding on the sand. “Are you okay?” Link asked worriedly. I checked myself. Other than a few scratches, I was fine. “I know something we’re not doing,” Midna said. Then I heard it: the faint sound of wings flapping. I spun around. Coming at us was a huge flock of dragon knights, each with a sword in hand. “Holy crap!” I yelled, turning to run away. I heard Link draw his sword, prepared to fight. “Sai, why don’t you try the thing?” Midna asked, pointing to the orb Arizona gave me. I nodded and imagined that I was a dragon again. Almost instantly my body changed; claws sprouting from my hands and feet, wings bursting from my back. When I looked at myself I was a dragon again. I leapt and flew toward the dragons. “Stop!” I yelled. “Don’t hurt us!” The one in the lead treaded air for a moment. “Why?” it grumbled. “Because we won’t hurt you!” I looked at the beast’s eyes and noticed the same hurt flicker that showed up on the Lizalfos. “Work with us,” I said. “I know that you are only working under orders.” The flock of dragons nodded. “Fine. How will you contact us if you are in need of help?” the lead one asked. “I’ll screech.” He nodded and flew away, in the opposite direction. Landing softly on the sand, I turned back into myself. “What did you tell them?” Link asked. “They are on our side now,” I replied. “They will help fight.” The Gerudo Desert is big. Bigger than big. The biggest big you ever did see big. I walked across the silty sand, feeling my feet get sucked under. Sand worms jumped out at us at intervals, keeping us on our toes. “Nice of you to come,” a voice said behind us. I turned around. Jake the “sharpshooter” was staring at us, his gun held sideways out in front of him. “Nice of you to come,” Midna said sarcastically. “Don’t give me that crud. I know you’re working for Ganondorf.” Jake laughed and snapped his fingers, causing a sandstone box to form around us. Link drew his blade. “Don’t pull anything, or I’ll cut your stupid head off,” he hissed. Jake laughed again. “Do you think you can kill me with that blade? Hah! Try this on for size, freak!” Jake fired his gun, and instead of a regular bullet, a bullet of black energy shot out. Link tried to dodge but cracked his head on the stone wall. He passed out. Midna threw herself in front of the energy and was thrown into the wall as well. A part of me wanted to say “Some heroes they are” but I reconsidered the severity of the situation. Jake looked at me. “You’re next,” he said, laughing. That guy did laugh a lot. I pressed myself against a wall of the box, my eyes shut tight. Unconsciously, my mind called out for help. Someone, please help us! When I opened my eyes I was no longer in the desert, but in a black pool of water. Arizona stood in front of me. “…Take this, Sai…” it said. A shining thing landed in my hands. I examined it. It was a fishing pole. “You want me to fight with this?” I exclaimed, waving it around. “It’s a freaking fishing pole!” “…You will see its power of you use it…” Arizona said. “…I sensed you were most familiar with fighting with a fishing pole…” And in another blink of an eye I was facing Jake again, the fishing pole in my hands. It was now glowing brightly, and had cut a hole in the Twilight. I smirked and held it in battle position. Swinging it around, it hit Jake on the shoulder, cutting all the way to the bone. A thin ribbon of regular air showed the path of the pole. “Oh my god! I’m sor—wait, no I’m not!” I shouted as Jake checked his bleeding arm. He swung his gun around and fired. Trying madly to dodge the bullet, I dragged a strip of light behind me. It disintegrated the bullet instantly. Jake looked at his gun, then tossed it to the side. “Time to get serious,” he said, pulling out a sword of the blackest black. I braced my hands on the cork handle of my fishing pole. We lunged at each other at the same time. Our weapons hit each other, and it turned into a mad struggle to see who would be victorious. I felt adrenaline flood my veins as I pushed harder. My wrists were screaming, but I couldn’t fail now. “Ready to give up?” Jake hissed. “Midna’s down, Link’s almost dead, and your land will get flooded by Twilight again.” I moaned and looked at the floor. Jake really made you feel like crap. My arms ceased to push for a moment. A thought of my land in Twilight again made me want to cry. I couldn’t let that happen. I suddenly gave a shove and Jake fell to the ground. I stood over him, a victorious smile creeping over my face. “Midna will rise, Link will survive, and Light and Twilight will never mix again,” I said, thrusting the Fishing Pole of Light downward. Suddenly a thought struck my head, and I dropped the pole. It clattered to the floor. Jake looked at me uncertainly. “What have I become…” I moaned. “I can’t kill someone…” I fell to my knees and looked at my hands. Jake sat up. I glanced at him. “Go ahead,” I said. “Kill me. I won’t do the same.” Jake opened his mouth like he was going to say something, then closed it. I felt tears run down my face. “Why…why are you stopping?” Jake asked. “I was right there.” “I can’t kill another being,” I said. “I have a hard enough time killing spiders, and I hate them.” Jake stood. I expected his to bring his sword down on me, but was met instead with his hand. “C’mon, get up,” he said. I refused. “As soon as I’m on my feet you’re going to kill me.” “No, I swear I won’t.” I cautiously took his hand and stood. After I got up, he went over and helped Link and Midna up. I was shocked. The fishing pole thing was because of the swordfights I had with my brother. I had the pole, and he had a golf club. That fishing pole is broken now. Until next time, farewell!

Lol, the Fishing Pole of Light...
This story's great! Sure, you could work on grammar and slowing down the story a bit, but other than that, it's great. Can't wait to see where you go with this.

I've been having issues and haven't done anything for a week and a half. The next chapter's up, though.Chapter #13: Facing the King of Evil The box was gone. We were looking at the Twilight-covered horizon. Jake was standing with his hands in his pockets. "I knew you weren’t really evil,” Link said. “And I knew you couldn’t kill something.” He was looking at me. I shifted a little. “Yeah. Ganondorf swore that if I killed you, he would fulfil my greatest wishes,” he murmured. “I just was overcome with power and lost the power I already had.” Midna was moving one hand in a you-are-talking-too-much-so-just-shut-up gesture. Jake saw this, and began walking away. “Wait!” she called. “ I didn’t mean it! Come join out troop!” I saw Jake shake his head. “I’m going to find a way home. See ya.” I could almost hear the dramatic sad music of a hero leaving after a victory. “We have to close the Mirror of Twilight again,” Link said, turning to Midna. “Warp us there.” She nodded, and soon we were standing in front of the mirror. Midna looked at it, then closed her eyes. Moving her hands in some bizarre way, the portal slowed for a moment and began to spin counter-clockwise. The Twilight got sucked into it, and I heard the songs of a million birds at once. I breathed in deep, feeling the power of Light wash over me. Midna looked sad. “I’ve got to go now,” she said. “I’m really sorry, but there will be an excess of Twilight and I need to sort it out.” She waved and jumped into the portal. I waved back. Link waved, too, then looked at me. “Why did you stop?” he asked. “Jake was right there, and it would have been best for everyone.” “I stopped ‘cause I can’t kill,” I snapped. “I can hurt people, but not to death. Unlike someone who would stop at nothing to kill another.” I glared at Link. The stress of everything suddenly came down on me, throwing my emotions into disarray. Link glared back. “At least I can defend myself, unlike a certain little female coward!” he shouted, a look of anger glowing in his eyes. The fury blinded the cute glow that was normally there. “Well, I left my home to come help yours. Call that cowardice if you wish. I believe that was pretty damn brave,” I said back. “You know what? Screw it. I’m not in affiliation with you anymore.” I picked up the Fishing Pole of Light and walked from the tower. It would take me all day to reach the bottom of Arbiter’s Grounds, so I leaned up against the guardrail around the tower. I began to feel tears fall from my eyes. This moment reminded me about all the fights I had with my friends, who happened to all be guys, as well. In the end, we always made up and made fun of the others again. “Maybe I should apologize,” I muttered, staring at the now pretty desert. “After all, he is my friend.” Suddenly a memory of the dream flashed through my mind. The boar tossing me over the edge, then turning to gore Link. The scream he uttered seemed like it was happening at that very moment. I quickly turned around to look at Link, who, when he noticed I was looking at him, turned away. I ran over to him and...sort of did something embarrassing. “Link, I’m sorry!” I moaned, hugging him tightly. “I’m sorry for being mean! And I’m sorry for not telling you about the dream!” Link attempted to pull my arms from around his waist, but it was futile. I was like a crawfish and a tadpole. Link was the tadpole. “What dream?” he asked. “I’ll accept your apology if you let go of me!” I let go of him quickly. For a moment, I had forgotten what I was doing. Girls are funny, huh? “The dream,” I said, walking a little way away from Link. My face was burning red. “ about when Ganon is chasing me across the bridge. I had it again, just after Ganondorf cursed me. This time…I saw you on the other end of the bridge, before Ganon hooks me. As I fall, I can hear you scream.” Link looked mildly surprise. “Why haven’t you told me before?” he asked. I shook my head. “That dream could be a prophecy!” Link exclaimed. “ Ganon could…” “I know,” a deep, very familiar voice said from behind us. “Sad, isn’t it? A giant boar killing an elf and his girlfriend.” Link drew his sword. “You know perfectly well I’m not an elf!” he yelled at Ganondorf. “I am Hylian!” Ganondorf smirked. “What about the girlfriend comment?” The tips of Link’s ears began to turn red. Man, that was like tomato red right there. Cherry red. Apple red. And it was spreading. “Urg…” Link grunted, glancing at me. I bet I was red as well. “I will take you down, bunghole!” I shouted at Ganondorf, who, by now, was laughing hysterically. I drew the Fishing Pole of Light back, then flung it forward. The hook flew in a graceful arc…and snagged on Ganondorf’s awfully large nose. Link’s eyes grew wide and he began to giggle. I clapped a hand over my mouth and laughed. Ganondorf looked at us angrily. “You think this is funny?” he demanded, pointing to the glowing hook in his huge nostril. “I find that not true!” By now Link was almost on the ground, laughing his cap off. I almost dropped the pole watching the King of Evil carefully unbend the hook and slide it out of his nose. He patted the hole gently before turning to us again. “You will pay!” he shouted, snapping his fingers. “Jake, come!” But Jake never came. He tried again, and still no Jake. I hoped he had found a way home, away from this madman. “Fine, no henchmen,” he growled. “I’ll take you down myself.” Link stopped laughing and prepared to fight. I reeled in the bent hook and raised the pole like a sword. Ganondorf pulled out a sword. It was a long, twisted black blade, and it glowed an evil aura. I saw a glow off to my left, and noticed the Master Sword was shining, as well. It was a battle of the lights. “Two against one. Not very fair, is it!” Link taunted, twirling his blade. I rolled my eyes. Who knew Link was a show-off? “Well, I’m not much of a fighter, but I’ll try now!” I said, trying to twirl the pole. It hit the ground twice before returning to me. Ganondorf lunged, his blade in the “chance” position. As I was about to leap, Link jumped and tangled swords with Ganondorf. I stared, jaw down. Here was the guy who wanted me to fight, but instead jumped ahead of me. Link glanced at me quickly, emotion showing up in his pupil. I was a bit disoriented about how I could read people’s emotions, but listened all the same. Following Link’s mental instructions, I ran around to Ganondorf’s back and slashed. A long cut formed, but instead of blood, there was a long, light cut. “Link! Attack his gash!” I shouted, sidestepping away. Link did the back slice and Ganondorf fell to the ground, gasping. He coughed up blood. I’m not the one to break at the sight of blood, but that was plain disgusting. Frothy and bubbly, like blood puke…you get it. “Hiya!” Link leapt high in the air, his sword down, prepared to finish the dark lord. He landed squarely on his back and backflipped off, smiling. But it wasn’t over. Ganondorf swelled. I knew what was happening. Zelda’s voice suddenly rang out around Link and I. “I’ll get you away! Let us hope the dark one doesn’t follow.” I felt myself being lifted, somehow turning to light. It was a really weird sensation. Let me make this clear right now: I do not like Link. This story, although the main character is slightly like me, is completely fictional. Why would anyone like a video game character? The love thing was a sudden brainstorm I had.

Great chapter. Though, I have to say, them getting angry at each other happened pretty quickly. Link seems a lot angrier than usual in that part.
