Fics of the Past, Present, and Future

Ever get an idea for a fic that you just really wanna talk about? I know I do, and I know I like to explain about old fics I've done, old fics I've dumped, fics I'm currently working on, and fic ideas I have for the future. So, if you're like me, this is the thread where you can throw around all of those ideas and discuss about them. I know that the Writer's Council allows for that already, but I think this is the type of subject where it can deserve it's own thread.

I hope that people who post in here can not only tell others of their plans, but also comment on fellow members' ideas as well, so we can always have good discussions going around. If you wanna post short excerpts, outlines for the story, or simply a summary of what will happen, that's all fine, it's allowed in here.

I'll start off with an idea that I might use as my summer fic-


"Trigger"

I like to consider this story one big mix of Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, my own ideas and all kinds of video game shooters on the market (Geist, Timesplitters, Metroid Prime, Half-Life etc.) It'll be actually very similar to how Cowboy Bebop's story would be, and for those of you who don't know what that's like, basically it's a long story composed of many minor plots and 'sub-stories' with the main problem still hiding in there, and focused on completely at a couple points. It would be about a team of expert shooters that join together into a motely crew and become an official mercenary team exclusive to the galaxy's police force. They'll find themselves on several adventures where they'll combat enemy shooters, bounty hunters, soldiers and more, as well as even the occasional bio-creature and robot. But in the middle of it all, they're have to stop a rebel group that's trying to shut down all politics on Earth, and put themselves in power of the planets.



Since there's about a 50% chance that this'll be my big story for the summer, I'll certainly be drawing up all the information on it as the months go by. So, I'll continue to post the outlines and such along the way, whether anyone likes it or not

Sounds interesting, Mirren. I've seen your writing, and this should become massive. As for mine... I've been writing about a series of SSB fanfics called "Curse of the Hand". Basically, it stars Marth, Link and Roy, and they have adventures.

The first entails them finding out that the SSB tournaments were a hoax, and Master Hand was really going to kill them. They run to Hyrule, but that gets flooded.

In the second, Marth wakes up after 3 years, to find out that Earth has been conquered by the hand and Link is evil. He and Roy save the world.

In the third, they end up on Crazy Hand's home planet, and eventually meet the evil Demon of Volcanos.

In the fourth and final, the three visit the Capital of Time, meet the Grand Master of Time, and get entwined in a political plot, ending with the death of Dragonlord, the reincarnation of the Devil.

Of course, the actual fanfics will be much more detailed. I can describe it more, if you want.

Good luck with the series, I think you should do fine, there's not a lot of SSBM fics around, anyways.


And I'm unsticking this until it gets more popular, no reason for it to be stickied right now.

Paying for the past...
I know it's a story that is already up (link in sig) but it died too suddenly. The basic plot was that the main character is the latest reincarnation of Asmodeus (a powerful persian demon).

He finds this out partially from dreams of Asmodeus' last waking moments. He then goes to a gypsie for help, and she fully unleashes his demon side. He has to pay off the debt of souls that Asmodeus and his other incarnations owe the universe, and has to pay this off by killing various undead creatures.

His first foe was one of the many different Satan incarnations. After a hard battle, he killed him. The next enemy was a demon crime organization, led by the demon Indrajit.

Indrajit, Khara, and two other demons are the main villains of what is known as season 2. The whole thing died before I could get much farther though, and the first season had no readers at all. (at least, none that would post).

Hey, Milk Duds, I'd like to read your SSBM series, if, of course, you're of any mind to post it on ZU. I like SSBM fics, and, as Mirren mentioned, there aren't many around.

As for a story... I'm currently in the process of outling a major project - a novel, spanning the fantasy/historical genres and taking place in the early '30s during the last legs of Prohibition. At present, the notes I have for it are expansive and befuddling, though I've managed to break it down to a more or less brief summary:

Determined to save her family, Annabelle ventures into the Depression-era wilderness of New York and stumbles into the heart of rat's nest of crime. Now the target of a deadly gang, Annabelle must topple its leader - or her family will be destroyed.

I'm having a bit of trouble with it right now - I've got two storylines that I must flesh out until they meet - when they meet I'm not particularly sure, that being one of my troubles. As an ancillary note, all the characters are animals... post-Robin Jarvis syndrome.

Well, I have a few stories that I've dumped, and they usually center around a single, pentagonal symbol. It's too hard for me to explain without infuriating the lot of you, so I'll just explain two of the stores that centered around it.

First story: The adventures of the alchemists

Barin Flameheart, a strange kid with a fiery outlook on life, lives in a small farming village called Molten town. It all changes when his "Grampa" arrives and presents him with a stone. It gives Barin strange powers over fire, and he finally learns about the world around him.

Truth is, the world told to him is a lie.

Second story: The creator

John has always been a strange kid. The first strange thing? Well, for one, he may look like a teen but he is actually 500 years old! Found in a bloody crater, John could talk at the age of one year. At the age of three, he was smarter than any villager. At the age of five, however, it was realized that he wasn't growing to look any older. In fact, he looked to be a one year old person!

The people voted him to be banished, beleiving he was a demon. Strangely, the child survived.

Over time, John realized he had strange powers over life. He could make flowers grow, and even bring dead logs back to life! One day he make a tree talk! Although the tree didn't talk sense, John was sure this power was a great gift.

A storm struck the village one day. It created a fire that killed three poeple. One was a young woman, the other a strong woodsman, and the other a little girl. Beleiving his power could save them, John brought them back to life. It worked... but with serious side effects. For one, they each became evil. For the other, each mutated into a strange race. One was the first vampire, the other the first werewolf, and the last a strange shadow creature.

500 years later, they are hunting John, hoping for more of his strange powers. The races are getting weaker... they need to be repowered...

And John is the only way.

Yeah... they're both a bit freaky.

I have had an idea for tow stories, but'll post the more original one.

Not much is know about the races of Hyrule. Sure the Zora live in water and are amphibious and the Gorons can eat rock, but I want so much more. I want their history, evolution/creation, details about their anatomy; basically, I want an encloypedia like text on the various main races. However, many would find just reading some educational text to be very boring. That is why I would tell different stories and highlight certain parts, going into more detail about what is happening within each scene. Kinda like a documentary you would find on Discovery about dinosaurs or alien life.

I wrote part of the Goron's Chronicles, but due to lack of reply, I became somewhat discouraged, so I stopped writing and went on to other things. However, if you would like to read it I could provide a link to it if anyone one would like. Well, what do you think?

P.S. Mirren, that sounds like a really interesting story, and I'm interested in you publishing something to see if you can bring it to life. Good luck, you have a great imagination.

To Layke: I haven't seen the Goron Chronicles. I'll look for it and get to reading! Your encyclopedia/documentary of the races of Hyrule sounds educational *teachers praise your thoughts* and I'll be waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

A 16 year old girl suffers the loss of her grandmother to Death. After finding out the truths of her past and a series of celestial events, she leaves her home in search of a loved one's past. The words that guide her... Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter...

The Search for Zero (Spankin' New!)

The death of the Legendary Reploid Zero on Ragnarok shakes a horrible blow on everyone. Neo Arcadia, a paradise to human and the enemy to Reploids, however, refuses to acknowledge defeat. With their paradise destroyed, the humans rebuild while the army goes off to destroy the Reploid Resistance. Unknown to them, hope rises once more in the heart of one Reploid who refuses to acknowledge the truth. He goes in search of Zero, but will he find him, or more than he ever wanted...?

Please read them... I still await many things from you writers and I'll keep waiting... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting...

New York City, July 2005

A boy and a girl walk through the busy streets of Manhattan. In particular, they stop at Dyckman St. to look at what the shops have to offer. Unbeknowngst(sp?) to them, their lives change forever. A robbery is committed in a local McDonald's location and the boy and girl both see who the robber is. It happens to be a good friend of theirs and they tell the police soon after who he is and where he lives and promises of death were soon to follow.

The day continued until they go to the local cemtery close to the park. An unknown force pulls them to the forbidden end of the cemetery. Three graves are covered in moss and their curiosity gets the better of them. The names on the graves... a blinding light... two triangles made of three pieces each... and a world of change...

Interesting thread Mirren. I remember a few months back I was kicking around the idea of a fic that would be called 'No Junk Mail', it was about an unassuming pamphlet deliverer who found out that the company he works for is actually a covert ops agency. He goes along with this, delivering confidential files in amongst the pamphlets and such until he uncovers an evil plot hatched by his company and tries to foil it.

The Queen of Evil (Present)
It's about a war basically. Along with a crazy ruler of an empire, people who can control elements, marajuana, and cursing... lots of cursing. Unfortunately I only have a few chapter done, but it gets a lot better.

I've been brainstorming a story for about 3 years now. It's called "The Blood Brothers". It's a trilogy that has an extremely good plot. I wish I could share it with you, but I can’t. Company secrets, you know!
