Re: Junctioner: Hylianis - Radiant Echoes (M)

Oh wow. Thanks for bringing all of those to my attention, guys! What I'm going to do is go through the previous chapters and take a peek at them. Please do continue to mention these errors as you see them, it really helps make this better for you guys!

With that said, here's the next chapter.
---

Chapter X

I remained frozen in place as I watched a shadowy mass appear beneath me. Confused and terrified, I found myself unable to look away as I caught a glimpse of the creature below. When I gazed into its maddened red eyes, I found myself remembering the crow-like monsters the shrine maiden had fought in my first 'vision'. It, too, was mishapen beyond recognition... or so it seemed.

Mireiyu!

At the sight of gleaming teeth, I let out a terrified scream before darting through the water to get away. I felt one of my fins brush against its teeth before it chomped at the space I was moments before. I jerked my arm away before speeding through the water to escape the monster. Out of the corner of my eye, I watched the creature pursue me while emitting a low growl.

In that instant, I felt that alien energy manifest within me once more.

No! I thought amidst my terror, Not this again!

Mireiyu, don't be afraid..., Link said.

"Huh?" I muttered out loud.

I was hoping it didn't have to come to this, but it seems I have no choice....

In that instant, I felt his will wrench control of my body from me. Once more, I was an unwilling passenger within my own body, watching my limbs move to the will of another.

No! Please no! I shouted, Not this again!

"You aren't ready for this, Mireiyu. I promise I will teach you later. For now, I simply want you to watch... and learn,"

Link said in a sad tone. As my mind raced to figure out what me intended to teach me, I felt my body begin to swim toward the monster. It finally dawned on me what he was referring to.

Oh God no..., I thought to myself, I'm going to die. He's going to kill me. Please not here... please....

With a fluid grace, I felt my form twist and speed towards the creature. As these events unfolded before my very eyes, I could do little more than await my doom.

Yet it never came....

I watched with arms crossed in front of my face as my fins somehow grew in size. As the creature moved toward us, barbed tentacles sprouted from its neck. It let out a deafening roar before projecting its tentacles towards us. With a mere flick, I watched as my fins flew out of my arms and spun through the water like a pair of twin boomerangs. Akin to a pair of spinning blades, they sliced through the tentacles as a black, ink-like liquid jetted through their remains. As it clouded the water, I could vaguely make out its severed limbs dissolving into the growing blackness. Moments passed, and I felt my body wait, as if expecting something.

Link..., I muttered, Link what are you-

With another roar, the creature darted out of the cloud and back towards. It bore its teeth, which were just as jagged and mishapen as the rest of its shark-like body.

Oh man, I thought in dismay, You are one ugly mother****er....

In my mind, I recored in horror as I felt my fingers curl up into fight fists. As the creature attempted to bite us once more, I felt my body strafe out of the way. It did little more than race by while the creature's teeth chomped down on the empty space where we once floated. That was when I felt something catch my leg.

I mentally screamed at the sight of one of the creature's tentacles twisting around my feet. Before I could mutter any cries of protest, I felt my body being dragged towards the creature's body as more tentacles wrapped themselves around us. As I felt myself struggle to free my arms from its grip, I found us staring face to face with the monster. Crimson eyes stared at me with a hungry expression as it bared its teeth once more.

Oh God. This is it. We are so going to die. This is where it's going to end. I'm going to die here, a prisoner in an alien body and a slave to an equally alien will.

In that instant, I felt the alien power coursing through my body rush to the surface. I watched as electricity surged from my body and up the creature's tentacles. It howled in pain as its grip loosened. Using my fins, I felt my arms hack away at the creature's tentacles. There, the creature floated, seemingly stunned. As we watched it float there, a strange sensation came over me. I felt my eyes close as a strange warmth surrounded my body. When my eyes opened, I saw that I was now surrounded by an eerie aura, the same one that had surrounded me that fateful night on the Aurora Night. I swam toward the creature, and latched onto the back of its wide, bulbous neck. As I held onto the creature with a vice grip, the aura surrounding me began to spread away from me like a cleansing flame. The creature roared one last time as a light flashed.

When the light faded, I found myself gripping not the back of a monster, but a great white shark instead.

"There. We're safe now," Link said.

His presence faded as he relinquished control. With a scream, I let go of the shark, and watched it float lifelessly onto the ocean floor below. Uncontrollable panic swept through me as I felt my chest tighten. My hands raced to my chest as I felt a familiar pain manifest itself. In the back of my mind, I could hear Link groan in pain.

Mireiyu..., He asked, What's happening to us?

"Asthma...," I managed to say. Along with the pain, I felt horrified- horrified that even in this form, I still suffer from my asthma. My inhaler was gone; if a monster wasn't going to kill me, my asthma will. I could do little more than float into the coral reef below as I blacked out.

---

I don't know how long I was out. When I came to, I found myself still lying in the coral reef, undisturbed since I passed out. I could feel my chest continue to throb, though it was not nearly as bad as before. Feelings of relief ran through my mind as I slowly pulled myself up from the ocean floor.

I was still alive. Somehow, I managed to survive that asthma attack. But was I able to swim...?

With a twist, I began to swim through the water. I decided to proceed with caution as I swam away.

Mireiyu..., Link began, What happened back there....

I closed my eyes.

"Is this about my asthma?"

Asth... ma?

"I'll tell you later. Right now, I'd really appreciate it if we just didn't talk to each other right now...."

He said nothing more. Passing by schools of fish as I swam through the ocean, I decided to surface for a moment. When I did, I could see the sun setting in the distance. A frown formed on my face as thoughts of my grandfather waded into my mind.

I wondered if grandpa was enjoying this same sunset, too....

A moment later, I dove into the water and began making my way back to the island once more.

Amazing new chapter. I love how discriptive you are! The fight with the monster and the asthma was perfect. Keep up the good work.

It certainly has been a while, hasn't it? :3

No guys, I haven't forgotten about this story. While I don't know when I'll get around to the next chapter at this point, I have gone through and edited all of the previous chapters. All errors mentioned have been fixed. Thank you guys so much for pointing them out for me. If you guys find any more, please don't hesitate to point them out.
