(com)OOT Parody - 3x Link [T]

Hey guys! My mum agreed to pay for 5 days of internet, so I'll stop by periodiclly.

And now for the chapter. I enjoyed it a lot. Dark Black isn't a pacifist (At least as far as we know, as he hasn't been in that situation), but he sure is a coward! And the "Ceartain Death" and chapter gags had me in stitches. Anyways, this one get's a perfect 5/5. Keep it up, and Merry Christmas to everyone!

(Navidad, Navidad, Blanca Navidad)… uh… uhmm… oh man now for the first time I got nothing to say. Anyways, here is my review for chapter fifty-nine: The Water Temple, Part III- uncertain death.

Jokes: I heard someone mention that your chapters aren’t as funny as they were since the forest temple, and well, that person is right. Your parody is still my favorite, but yeah, your chapters were A LITTLE funnier back then. Nevertheless, this chapter was as funny as the fist ones! I almost had to take a trip to the bathroom when Dark Link showed how ‘brave’ he is. This chapter was completely original. No refresh jokes of any kind. 5/5

Entertainment: The dialogue was very well thought out and there was not a single weak spot on the dialogue this time. That’s great, since dialogue is a big thing in script form parodies. I love the way this chapter ended, yay for cliffhangers! 6/6

Grammar: oh-uh, you made a grammar mistake. And when Dark Black said horsie, the right way to say it would be horsy, but that wasn’t so much of a mistake. 2/3

Actually, I did that on purpose (and I'm not pretending this time ) It's kinda like a little kids argument, since that's about the mentality of Yellow. Y'know, like:

"You're fat!"
"Am not!"
"Are too!"

Y'know? I'm sure you've heard it before. In this case, it was:

But other than that, I'm glad this chapter turned out okay. I'm looking forward to finishing the Water Temple so we can see more of Dark Black

(lol) as for the yellow problem, I noticed it too (kinda) but I thought I heard someone in the story(Edit: I meant this last chapters with the narrator on them) calling Yellow yellow so I thought that was how the narrator knew about the difference so I didnt mention it

Yeah, otherwise the only way Mr. Nobel Prize could tell them apart was by personality.

Two very strong chapters, once again.

Chapter 58: Transdimensional Turds

What I liked: the Strong Iron Bars (love the way inanimate objects talk in your parody), Dark Yellow, White and Navi being 'turds', Navi's 'weak spot' being the HSM soundtrack (which my sister is obsessed with), Epona being hilarious as usual, the reused cliffhanger, the reverse psycology, 'Uh, I’m the title of the chapter, buddy. You can’t tell me what to do'.
What I didn't like: the battle with the dark Links felt rushed, and the 'opposite personalities' stuff was a bit cliché, imho
What you should improve on: maybe Navi's characterisation?
Other comments: how many items does Yellow have now, compared to the others?
Score: 4/5 Excellent chapter

Chapter 59: Uncertain Death

What I liked: the certain death, 'Look! A chest!', Yellow conversation with Certain Death, the Riddleman cliffhanger, the boss key chest, yellow grappling teh Scarecrow Slaves's face, Black getting rudely cut off by the chapter.
What I didn't like: nothing much
What you should improve on: can't really think of anything
Other comments: it would be funny if Yellow, White and Navi end up making friends with Mr. Nobel Prize winner, only for Black to show up and hate him, and then him getting tragically killed in the boss battle. Maybe for the final dungeon you could do an epic of ten or so chapters?

Yeah, a detailed ending is what would be the best. You know what's sad, guys? Remeber when you beat OoT and you were just like "..." becuase the ending was incredible. You didn't want such an epic and heroic journey crammed with fantastic gameplay and interesting characters to end, and there you were. It was over.

And when Grass finishes this parody (I can't get too far ahead of myself), I know that it's gonna be even worse, becuase we've all grown to love and appreciate this story. I have been having trouble calling this a parody lately, becuase, in its own way, is so epic and heroic. Sure, the jokes are great and Yellow;s stupider than I could imagine Link being, but, even still- this is an adventure. So hats off to Grass here.

Does anybody else feel it? That this isn't a mockery of Oot, but another kind of OoT?One with three borthers that have a mission, but its a comedy instead of a serious kind of adventure. Which is what I love. They still have a mission, they still have relationships with different characters (no matter how different they are from the game *cough-Malon-cough*, and they are still fighting for their lives.

Is Yellow stupid? Yes.

Is Epona the next thing to mental retardation? Yes.

But is this an adventure that captivates us, making us want more, but not for the same reason as other parodies? We want a new chapter to see how far our heroes, Yellow, White, and Black, get in their adventure. I don't read this for laughs- I know they'll come, and it's expected. I read this becuase Grass has a flair for storytelling. Does anybody else feel this way?

So I guess this is my ultimate review of what I get out of this parody as a whole, not just for a chapter or two. Grass, you have captivated us with a grand story and many twists on the plot- but it is still a grand adventure. I will not be satisfied with giving this story up until the very end. And I hope you continue with Majora's Mask, as well, Grass. You have created a parallel universe to the actual Zelda Universe, Hyrule and other lands, that it is almost beliveable that a giant computer could reside outside Lake Hylia and that rapping villians are still pure evil.

You aren't mocking the importance and urgency of Link's travels, Grass. You are merely exsercising them in a way that will make readers more engaged in the story and more attuned to laughter as opposed to boredom. That is why I will remain your number one fan until you leave ZU, becuase I can feel all this occurring, and the fact that I think alot like you is another factor.

So, yeah. Alot of typing, but it's okay. I hope you all, expeccially Grass, realize my point of view of this as an adventure and a parody, but certainly not a mockery. Epona, for example, seems more like an actual character in the story than a spoof off an existing character in an alternate universe. And that is why this thread will forever hold a spot on my hard drive- my word document is very large.

Grass, you have accomplished what not many writer scan say they have- you haev made it through more than half of your story, and I have a strong feeling that you will finish this amazing tale. Even I, the number two comedy writer on ZU, did not complete my award-winning LotR parody. So that is why you deserve my ultimate respect.

I'm sure there were many hard chapters to write, and many writer's blocks occurring when your fans (mostly me ) were simply begging for more. I know it is stressful- I've written two novels. But you, in my opinion, have overcome it, which is the exact reason you are number one in comedy writing here, and you have gained my ultimate respect.

So I hope this has helped you understand exactly what I am getting out of this amazing story. I know that it's always good for a writer to get specifics on what to change where for the next chapter, but my words of advice are:

"You've got talent. Now run with it."

Good luck, Grass. I expect to see a sequal after the climatic ending (which I am looking forward to ).

I wasnt so much into ZU (in fact I dont remember why I made an account) but I started coming here every day because of this parody. It was, and maybe it still is, my whole reason to be here. I can bet I'll cry when the end comes (lol) I've also check this parody to see the story grow, not only for the laughs.

I rarely post, but the reason I come here every time I can is for this and man_with_thoo's parodies. If I need help with Zelda, I call my friend or break out the ol' Action Replay. Yes, aren't I just cheap.

Wow! Over the course of... yesterday and today, I read the entire parody up to this point. It really got me addicted! I especially like the enemies. Two, in specific: poes and redeads, especially the poes.

Yeah. So before I get to the point where I start agreeing with all the users here and stuff, I'll just review the chapters first like I always do.

When you first started writing the Water Temple, I thought that the jokes were gonna get old and cliche real fast. But instead, you implemented the jokes in such a way that they actually seemed very original and creative. Yup, you're a genious. And if you haven't noticed, I used to be kinda annoyed whenever you broke the fourth wall like that. But now I'm starting to LIKE breaking the fourth wall. Yup, I'm okay with you doing that. I'm completely okay with you shattering the fourth wall and utterly breaking it beyond repair. It must be really fun doing that.

After reading the above paragraph, you probably know now that I really liked those last two chapters you posted. The only problem I have with them, though, is how some lines are a little bland. But don't worry, it really isn't such a big deal. 9.7/10 for both chapters, Grass!

And I agree with Mn'T and stuff about you going so far into your parody. OoT's a very long game, and you managed to parody it so well that this became even more than just a parody.

I also went far into mine, but I'm currently having such a bad case of WB that it isn't funny anymore. My thread here is inactive, and my thread on GameFAQS is dead. I'm gonna revive it soon, though.

So, the point is, you're a freaking amazing writer. Period. Nothing else.

Oh, I got a PM from someone telling me this got revived and I couldn't be happier, or maybe that's because of all me new christmas stuff..anyway, I basically left ZU a while ago, the only site I regularily visit now is hylianshield.net (the one adad was advertising above) but I'll look into this parody from time to time now, adad is right though, you'd be a great member on HS. Anywho, back to the parody, I don't know if you've posted a new chapter yet of if the last few posts have all been "OMG!" but I'll go and look now anyway.
