Chapter 1 Questions

Link looked back over his shoulder; he had just crossed the bridge connecting Ordon to the wrest of Hyrule and was heading north. The past couple of days had been filled with sadness Link had lost two of his best friends Midna (the twilight princess) and the Master Sword. Midna had left the world of light to go back to her people and as she left destroyed the Mirror of Twilight completely. After she had gone Link traveled to the Sacred Grove and stuck the Master Sword back in its pedestal, for the next hero because Link had no farther use for it because he had killed Gannondorf with it in Hyrule field. Once he was back home in Ordon link had a burning question "who was the original Hero?" So he strapped on his gear (putting on his Ordon sword because he didn’t have the Master Sword anymore) and set off for the one being that he thought held the answer Faron.
As link reached Faron spring he stopped and dismounted Epona and walked up to the waterfall. Unsure of what to do he spoke into the sky, "O great spirit of light Faron please hear my voice and answer my questions."

Then a familiar voice spoke out "what is it you would like to know, hero chosen by the goddesses?"

"I would like to know who the original hero was, the one who wore this tunic." Asked Link

It was not long before Faron answered, "A fascinating tale to tell but it is not my tale to tell."

"Then wh–" Link started to say but the spirit had cut him off

"The one you want to see resides deep in the woods where the Temple of Time is." Said Faron as his voice faded away

Link slowly walked over to Epona pondering what the spirit said. When he reached her he told her "go back to the village" and pushed her head in the direction of Ordon. Seeming to understand what he said she started walking south. Link on the other hand started walking north.

After walking for a while and flying over a huge canyon by golden Cucco, Link was finally here, in the forest that held his answers. Link always thought this place was nice, the whole place was filled with large trees, small ponds and waterfalls. If someone where to try to paint a picture here they would need a canvas as big as there field of vision, just to fit in all of the beautiful details here. The only bad thing about this place was that no mater how hard you tried you cannot map it out, some mystical force stops you. Because of that Link found it extremely hard to find your way. After wandering around for a while he came upon a tunnel, but after closer inspection he realized that it was actually a fallen tree that was hollowed out and cut off at the ends to form a tube. Although Link had only been here three times in the past he was sure that he hadn’t been through this before so he walked into the darkness.

Link was going to light his lantern but decided against it because he could see a faint light ahead. As he walked towards it he saw that it was the exit. As he walked out of the log/tunnel he was shocked. He was standing on a cliff overlooking a village settled in a small clearing in the forest with low to high cliffs all around it with thick forest growing on them. All of the building that made up the village were made out of large trees like in Ordon. But unlike Ordon the trees were cut down and the stumps where used to make the buildings. But what was most shocking about the village was that its proportions where to the size of a child not an adult. Everything from the fences to the building, all made to fit a child. As Link looked around he realized that the log/tunnel he came from was not the only way into the village. To the West was another log/tunnel, but it had rotted and collapsed, And to the East was a path in between two cliff walls that lead out of the village. And Link even saw a fairy go from one building to the next.

"Time to find out where I am" said link as he jumped off the cliff

Farore’s Gift

The pillars of white with vines spiraling upwards were only a taste of the view he bestowed. The grass was too soft to seem real, the spouting water from the fountain before him forming rippling circles over the glassy edge. The thin streams of water leaked out of the basin into the one below it, sinking into the marble surface.

His vision was blurred as he lay on his back, groaning slightly and blinking rapidly to regain his sight. The dark sea-blue of his irises sparkled with curiosity as he gazed at the courtyard.

The hero sat up slowly, his gauntleted hands feeling the fresh grass of the purest green below him. He narrowed his eyes, his brow crinkling in contemplation. There were no words to leave his lips.

At first glance, one would assume they were in the marvelous boundaries of the Sacred Realm, a sight Link had not pictured in years. He had always taken note to expected what one would not assume should happen, and continuously stayed to this theory. Only at age one and twenty did he face a task he was not expecting at the least.

Hyrule had fallen to the deathly-cold clutches of war. The welfare of the people was dropping drastically due to the restless months of fighting. Half of Castle Town had turned into bulky piles of rubble, the singed boulders still leaving their mark on the remains of stone buildings. Thankfully, Hyrule Castle, along with its economical staff, was unharmed. The princess had pleaded for him to lead the younger ranks into battle, something his anticipation had completely swerved around. He had seen the bloodshed of many wars, but had only been part of them in order to rid a country of monsters. Another difference was that he had never fought a war against other men.

The last thing Link remembered was that he had been in heated combat, weakened to the final breath of his existence. He felt he could not go on, determined that exhaustion would soon take hold of him. It was now that he awoke in a heavenly paradise.

“W…Where am I…?” the hero stated slowly, the forest-green cotton of his tunic flattening against his muscled chest as he straightened his back. The sound of whispering voices, jumbled together in an untranslatable way, brushed against his ears as if floating on the wind. He parted his lips, the voices growing louder and louder, overpowering his senses. He clapped his hands over his pointed ears in desperation, squeezing his eyes shut.

When his hands fell half-raised to his sides, he found that the only noise was the running water of the fountain. Link’s eyes widened, then narrowed again in confusion, his gaze wandering until landing on the largely-sized marble structure before him. He pressed his hands to the ground, slowly steadying himself as he came to his feet; the gold chain mail underneath his attire rustled faintly.

His sandy-blonde locks swayed with the breeze as Link turned in a circle, looking completely around him. It seemed the edges of the courtyard were flanked by clouds, proving that he had to be dreaming. Link took a few steps forward, then stopped at the sudden whispering which had picked up again. It rang in his ears, then faded, afterwards violently pounding inside of his brain. In continued the tormenting madness for several repeating rounds, driving the hero insane.

“Speak no longer!” he roared, clutching the green cap on his head angrily. “If I am in the Sacred Realm, dream or not, then it must be for a reason. Show yourself, whoever has brought me here.”

Then a shaft of golden light seemed to drop from the cloudy heavens above, forcing Link to shield his eyes with the back of his hand. He squinted and grunted slightly as the flash brightened, then quickly narrowed and vanished. As he lowered his hand, Link gasped, taking note of just how wide his eyes had gotten.

She stood before him, skin like porcelain, so fine you felt as if it would break if you were to touch it. Her eyes were of the brightest emerald, with long curls of green. Lips like a rose, cheeks of the faintest pink. She wore a white garb of cotton, gathered at her chest and revealing the slightest cleavage. There was a leather belt around her waist, and a slit up the right side of her dress to her mid-thigh, exposing one of her smooth legs. On her feet were laced sandals, on her wrists plated bracelets of gold, around her neck a large gem of opal hanging past her collar.

“Hero Chosen by the Goddesses,” the woman spoke, her voice light and ringing like the melodic sound of bells. “I am Farore, the Goddess of Courage. Come to me.”

Link’s legs moved without being told to do so, until he stopped several feet away from her, his eyes never leaving hers. He dropped to one knee and bowed deeply, a hand against his heart as his bangs draped against the grass.

“I am not worthy of your presence…” he whispered, closing his eyes. He felt the softest hand cup his cheek, gently lifting his face to where their gazes met.

“You say you are not worthy, yet you are the hero I chose to do my bidding. Why do you deny my consent, my child?” she replied.

“I do not deny you,” Link said softly, staring into the hypnotizing sparkle of the goddess’s eyes. “I just do not understand the reason of my being here.”

“Rise,” Farore muttered with a smile, and he did so. “You face the burden of warfare,” she continued. “I know this. I have observed it, as well as foreseen it.”

“What am I to do? Our forces are weakening and the enemy is growing stronger. If Ganon’s lust for power is dying out, then surely these men will reclaim it.”

“The desire to have power in a kingdom as long been a virus to the world…we can only do what is in our power to stop it. Young hero, you show that you are afraid. Do you doubt your courage?”

“No…I doubt myself.”

“Why is this?” Farore said quietly, her eyebrows furrowing. Link sighed.

“I have been losing confidence,” he replied, barely a whisper. “Seeing Hyrule in such times of poverty has caused my soul to lose the joy it once had. I cannot bear to watch it become worse, yet I fear I will not have enough strength to reclaim my courage and turn the tables. If everything continues in this plummeting downfall…then Hyrule will…”

“Dear hero. I see your burden. Yet, Hyrule’s welfare is Princess Zelda’s burden, not yours. You say you cannot stand to see it grow worse, yet your strength is weakening greatly. I can feel it.”

Farore squeezed his hand as if to make her point, and placed her other hand on his face.

“I understand what you seek. Your power has long strengthened your soul, but haunted it as well. I will bestow upon you my gift of courage, to help you reclaim your confidence – to face these challenges. Will you accept it?”

“Yes.”

The goddess then bent slowly, her hair of silk sliding across her bare shoulders as her other hand came to his face as well. She kissed his hair ever so gently, then brought his lowered gaze to meet hers once more. With a small smile, she then kissed his lips – the softest, sweetest kiss he had ever experienced. Link’s eyes widened, the seconds passing without a change of position. When Farore withdrew herself, Link felt as if he could accomplish anything in the world, his lips tingling even though there hadn’t been the slightest hint of passion.

“Go, my child,” Farore whispered, her hands falling to her sides. “Go and reclaim your strength.”

“Yes, milady. I will.”

And with a smile on his face, Link felt himself being washed away, as if everything were vanishing slowly, like a screen fading to black. The last things he saw was her sparkling emerald eyes and assuring smile before the scene was gone completely.

When his eyes snapped open, he bestowed the floppy ceiling of his tent. His body was refreshed, not the least bit of exhaustion in his veins. The previous bloodstains on his tunic were gone, his mind clear, and soul confident. He jumped up from his bed rolls and grabbed his sword, his lips twisting into a smile.

He knew what he had to do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Author’s Note:

I have always been wanting to do a short one-shot like this for a while now, and I finally got around to typing it. To clear up any confusion, the war occurring is between Hyrule and a neighboring land of humans, who want the power of the Triforce to strengthen their kingdom. Link had been injured multiple times and finally fell unconscious from exhaustion, where he awoke in the Sacred Realm. It was a short one-shot, not necessarily meant to show a paring between Link and Farore, but still having a little fluff. Hope you enjoyed it! Please remember to review!

Chapter 1: The Man Without a Mind

A heavy rain fell down upon the broken streets of an unknown town. The rain smelled disgusting and was almost black from all of the pollution that covered the land. The clouds up above the town were pitch black. They always were. Trash and rubble littered the roads of the small city. The building lined up across from each other were in ruins and looked barely livable.

The only sound that could be heard was the patter of the falling rain. Everything else was silent, as if there was not a soul anywhere near. The whole town was a terrible sight to see. It looked like there was a great war here, destroying everything that came into its path.

Ragged footsteps could suddenly be heard from afar. Down the road, a lone man walked, looking as if he were a lost cause. His hair was messy and his beard unkempt. The man’s clothes were torn and dirty and he did not even sport any shoes, unless you counted the bindings on his feet.

The man looked around the area, wondering where he was, even though the scene seemed quite familiar. A flash of lightning streaked across the sky. The man jumped in fright, not knowing what caused the event, and ran under the cover of a still intact house.

The man rubbed his skin, trying to keep warm in the immense cold. He had been walking for at least a day, running from an unknown advisory. The man was confused. He had no memory of any past events. He did not even know his own name. It almost seemed like his mind blocked out only certain parts of his memory and left others in, trying to make him solve the puzzle himself.

All the man knew was that something was after him. Something unknown. It came during the nights, seeking him out, trying to take him away to do unspeakable things too him. The man tried not to think about it, and wanted to find some help before the thing found him first.

After a few minutes without the lighting, the man crept out of the shelter, making sure it was safe, and started to walk again. He did not want the evil thing to catch up with him. Not after he had gained this much ground. As he was walking, his foot pierced a piece of glass, causing him to become stunned for a moment.

The man ripped out the piece of glass and observed the cut. There was no blood. The man pondered about this for a moment, but did not want any delays. He would investigate it later once he found some kind of life out there in the wasteland to lend some help to him.

Suddenly a faint sound was heard in the distance.

Beep...

The man turned towards the direction, wondering what the source of it was. He started to pick up his pace and walked towards the sound. He heard the noise again, except louder this time. He was getting closer. The man carefully stepped over the rubble, trying not to make any noises as he approached.

He heard the beeping noise once more and discovered that the source of the sound was around the corner of the building he was near. The man flattened himself against the wall of the building, breathing deep before he leaned his head around the corner to view the source of the strange noise.

As soon as he looked, he felt like his whole body shut down. It was the thing that was chasing him. It was a machine, colored black and shaped like some sort of spider. Its appearance was enough to unnerve most people. The machine made some sort of noise and turned towards the man’s direction. It knew he was there.

The man slowly turned around and broke into a sprint as fast as he could. The machine clanked its legs as it crawled across the road quickly, attempting to catch the poor man. It shot some sort of projectile at him, but missed, shattering an unbroken window instead.

The man let out a yelp and ran even quicker towards a bridge leading across a dried up river. This machine would not stop his pursuit and hissed as it noticed that he was losing the pursuit.

The man soon though that he was almost losing the spider until, to his dismay, he realized that the bridge was split apart in the center. He was trapped. There was no way across this dead end. The man stopped at the edges of the broken bridge, looking down the great distance. There was no way that he would survive a fall like that.

The mechanical spider jumped into view, satisfied that it had finally caught up. It knew that the man was trapped and knew that it had won. The man let out a fearful noise as the spider advanced upon him.

As he tried backing up, he almost lost his footing, causing a few pebbles to fall down below. The huge spider extended its arm quickly, smacking him in the chest and grabbed him by the shirt.

The man struggled to get free, but the machine’s iron grip would not release him. Suddenly the threads on the tattered shirt began to rip and the man fell out of the ripped shirt. The spider vainly tried to grab its catch, but missed and instead fell off of the bridge along with him.

The man let out a loud yell of terror as he plummeted down to the dry riverbed...

(I would like some output on how you readers felt about this. I would like some honest critique and see how you all felt about it... Thanks for reading the first chapter! There's more to come if this idea proves to be a good one!)

Disclaimer – I am currently striking a deal with Disney, Marvel Comics, Stan Lee, Lynn

Okamoto, Seisen and Studio ARMS to buy the rights to X-MEN and Elfen Lied. After

I have settled this deal, by this time next year; I will be one of the world’s richest black men on
the planet. Go me. Of course, I’m also the world’s worst liar and my above statement is more

false than your grandmother’s teeth. I obviously have no rights to X-MEN or Elfen Lied. I truly
wish I could make money of off fanboys, but I can’t. The only people I do own are my original
characters.

Warning: Because I don’t have milk bottles for the crybabies, I am going to use racial slurs such
some milk and bottles as soon as you get offended but you gotta remember, your baby sitter isn’t using these slurs for fun, you know.
to handle watching your friends die!” A third guard yelled at his comrade for his cowardice started firing at the girl.

“Rat-a-tat-tat” sang his M16A4 in such a tenor voice.

Showing off her powerful display of power, the girl use some sort of telekenic forces to deflect

the bullets as if she was surround by a magical, invisible bullet-proof vest. The walls did some

singing of their own as the bullets ricochet against the walls and floor. “Ping! Bonk! Ding!”

They sang their song of horrid failure. Despite the obviously sign of failure, the guard kept

firing at his female opponent until the clip in his gun told him to go screw himself, thus by

that, it ran out of bullets.

“Click. Click. Click” The haunting sound that no gunman wants to hear during a gunfight.

As he hurried to unload the useless clip from his M16A4 to insert a fresh one that would

finish the job for the former clip, he felt a sharp pain in his chest as his heart started to savagely

beat against his chest, as if his heart was taking the persona of a drummer assaulting his drumset.

The guard was in his late 20s, so he is obviously too young and too much in great shape to have a

heart attack or any other cardiac issues to cause this pain and it couldn’t be the stress of watching

a few of his allies get killed by this mysterious woman.

It must have been…hey you guessed it

before I can spoil it for ya! I mean, it’s obviously the beautiful naked chick doing all of this to

him!

“AHHHHHH!!!!!” A clichéd horrible death scream came from the voice of the third

guard as his chest explode like if some deranged nutcase planted a bomb from within his chest

cavity. Oh look! If you look close at the gory scene, you can start studying for your anatomy

homework by identify the different organs that just came outta the poor guy’s body. I can see

we have two lungs, a bunch of random ribs, a bit of the stomach and more! You can thank Lu- I

mean the crazy lady in this writing for helping gettin’ an “A” on your homework!

Hey second cowardly guard! We didn’t forget about you but hey, you were busy

throwing up your fast-food related dinner by the corner. And look at yourself! You are messy

and junk! Not only are you cover in blood (we said paint the steel walls red, not paint yourself,

you messy idiot), I think that’s the heart of your fellow guard sitting on your lap and holy crap,

it’s still beating even without the nerves being connected to the brain or whatever. Yeah, now is

the time to freak the hell out like if you was served a Jimmy Johns sandwich since they claim

“subs so fast you freak!”.

“AAAHHHHHH!!!” Finally, does he say something useful, like an average cliché

yell. Wise choice my friend. Scream right in front of your enemy and give away your position

to her right about when she was going to leave the room. The woman turned to the rookie,

staring him down. Fear threw a Sub-Zero-like ice ball at him, freezing him solid with that fear.

“Oh god no…” he whisper to himself as he took his new role of prey as the huntress walk

towards him. She stop after about three or four feet. Her sudden stop of motion didn’t remove

the fear from the prey as he just sat there knowing what was to come was unpreventable.

“SSSRREEEEK!” Flesh, limbs, and skin took it upon themselves to separate from the

rookie-turned-prey’s body as the woman once again used her powers to annihilate another victim

of her rampage. When she saw there were nobody else to have fun time with, she exit from the

room. Not even one foot out of the door and four new fresh guards started firing at the woman.

“Remember, she has a 6 feet radius use for her vectors. As long as we don’t enter that

radius, she can do no harm to us. However, do not get careless; despite her weakness of her

limited range, she can pick up anything and use it as a projectile to attack her target beyond

range. Do not drop anything on the ground within her reach. The others must’ve forgotten

about that little fact about her.” The leader of the four guard troops told his lower ranked units.

And just like you typical horrible and predictable horror film, guess what happens boys and

gals? You shouldn’t guess, I mean, there’s a flying steel beam who is about ready to do a

perfect landing on the leader’s forehead.

Not to say his head is so big that it can make good use

for a landing strip for an airport. Those are just childish jokes, talkin’ about people head sizes.

Anyways, if you haven’t notice, a steel beam was flying straight towards the unit leader’s

Forehead. What was truly ironic about this little turn of events is that he just warned his units

that she could use any object as a projectile. Oh look, now that beam just took his head clean

right off. Darn, I mean, pay attention people when you are in combat! Don’t wanna get killed by

a sleezy and cheap sneak attack. The surviving units wasted no time firing their rounds at the

woman. She didn’t wasted any time deflecting the bullets with some telekenic forces.

I guess just standing there and doing noting bored her so she move on towards the main

hallway of the building but not before slicing one guard head off, making the second one into a

human bomb and using his guts, organs, and blood as shrapnel and cutting the last guy in half.

You and I would be bored too if we were going around killin’ folks and yet, none of the guys

you were against issued a challenge. And so she walks further and further towards another

section of the research lab were the elevators were located.

“Lucy…this is not good. And that man, how could he single handily take out some of the

more experienced units? This isn’t good, at all.” Hey guy speaking, you think? Fully naked

crazed mutant girl somehow breaks outta her little room is going around killing people in the

most inhumane and gory ways possible while she’s singing a melody that many people reading

this may know and that melody goes like “La (F#) La(C#) Laa (G#) La-La (A-A) La La La (B A

F#)” and so. And then she’s walking towards the elevator to gain access to the main hallway

so she can possibly kill more people or to just have a cup of tea with ya.

“Kurama? Sir, do you want me to activate the emergency shutdown? With the main

circuit system down, there’s a chance she and that man we assume help break her out might

escape from the underground and gain entrance to the main floors.” A lab attendant ask Kurama,

chief of the research department that is currently under siege by Lucy and what Kurama’s

attendants confirmed to be an unknown man. Oh. How mysterious! An unknown man! Gonna

add some mystery here ladies and germs!

“Yeah. Activate it right now! We cannot have any more blood on our hands at this

point.” One of Kurama’s lab attendant switch the emergency shutdown system in hopes to

prevent Lucy from committing any more acts of carnage.

“EMERGENCY POWER CIRCUTS HAS BEEN CUT! UNDERGROUND

RESEARCH BLOCK WILL BE SHUTDOWN IN 60 SECONDS. ALL STATION

PERSONALS SEEK IMMEDIATE SHEALTER! REPEAT! EMERGENCY POWER

CIRCUTS HAS BEEN CUT! UNDERGROUND RESEARCH BLOCK WILL BE

SHUTDOWN IN 60 SECONDS. ALL STATION PERSONALS SEEK IMMEDIATE

SHEALTER!” A computer generated voice rang out it warning to personals within the area.

“Hopefully that should keep them at bay until we can get more units in.” Mr. Unnamed

Minor Lab Assistance told Kurama, who was focused on a monitor displaying more units and

guards being seriously harm or killed by the man who somehow snuck in the underground

resource area. “I wonder…is he one of them?” Kurama said softly. “A Diclonius? But sir, it’s

obvious that the majority of Diclonius are female and besides, the only known record of a male

Diclonius was murdered a few years back by Lucy, who we assume was his sister. We also

assume the fact Lucy and the rest of the older Diclonius are first generation. That man appears

to be too old to even be a Diclonius of the first generation.”

“No. I wonder if he is a Human Mutant.” Kurama replied to his attendant. “A Homo-

sapien superior. They’re humans who are just like you and I but they wield a unique gene that

allows them to gain superhuman powers naturally through their DNA. They are similar to

Human Dicloni-“ Kurama was interrupted by his associate’s laughter. I dobut Kurama was

doing a comedy routine to inspired the guy to laugh.

“Kurama, first off, I know what these Mutant freaks are. And second, you’re a wise

man who isn’t foolish enough to state that these off-breeds savages Diclonius and Mutants as

humans. Both you and I know what they can do are not consider human. Goddamn monsters,

that what they are. ****in’ curses from the devil.”

Kurama ignored his lab assistance little boarderline racist rant towards Human Mutants and

Diclonius to focus on the matter of the mysterious male Mutant who just killed a few more

guards in the underground lab area. Of course, his method isn’t as violent since so it isn’t as

exciting and the crime scene folks don’t have to worry about cleaning up body parts and such.

The man was clad in an obscured bright red body suit that outlined his muscular body. His

arms were protected by Adamantium fused gauntlets. For footwear, he uses Adamantium boots.

For protection for his midsection he also had some sort of Adamantium speedos or

Whatever you want to call the thing protecting that area. He also wore a cape that is bounded

to his suit.

The majority of his face was shielded by a helmet expect for the hallow front of it,

thus exposing his facial features. From his face we can tell this man appears to be in his late 40s

to mid 50s (but surprising enough, he is around in his late 70s to early 80s but we get to that

much, much later.) with some few winkles to prove his “age”. His distinct facial features give

us the belief that this man is of Jewish decent.

As this less-of-a-mysterious man walk down the corridors of the resource lab he was

stopped by unit made up by ten heavily armed guards in full black military gear, guns trained on

the man.

“Fire!” The leader of this squad commanded. The Adamantium clad just smiled as he

suddenly produced an electromagnetic energy sphere, surrounding his body and protecting him

from the hail of gunfire.

“****! Not another of ‘em Diclonius freaks! Keep firing! He can’t keep that damn thing

up for long!” The leader commanded his squard to fire again; he has such high hopes just like

teenage couple thinking of having high hopes of not gettin’ knock up during their first sexual

experience. All the bullets from their guns just attached themselves to the electromagnetic

sphere. “You homosapiens and your guns.” He taunted as he aimed the bullets he collected

through his powers towards the opposing guards. Knowing they could do nothing to stop him,

they all try to retreat , only to get shot up by their own weapon’s ballistics.

Once the final body dropped on the ground, Magneto just looked at them, scoffed and

was pleased at his little act of violence.

“Now to met up with that girl.” Magneto only walk a

few yards until he met up with Lucy, who was sitting down and covered in the blood of her

victims and was surround by body parts of said victims. “Impressive. You Diclonius are truly

are powerful.” Magneto gave Lucy praised, which she ignored. “Now dear child, shall we

move on?” Lucy just nods and got up as Magneto ordered the elevator to come from the main

floor of the building to the area he and Lucy were. Obviously once the elevator came to their

floor, they got on it. I mean, what else would they do with it? As they quickly rode to the main

floor of the Diclonius research building, Magneto warned Lucy to get ready as more guards

along with Kurama gather near the elevator entrance.

“Once you see those doors open, fire.” Kurama order the final set of guards on the main

floor. “Ding!” The famous one note jingle of the elevator rang and like some sort of strange

movie, the doors open, but slowly. “Chief Kurama!! I got you- AH!” Running down the

halls was a young brunette woman who, because of her clumsy persona, tripped over her own

feet. Poor gal because she just fell in front of the very same elevator were Lucy and Magneto

are in, you know, the one the guards are about ready to shoot up.

“Kisaragi! GUARDS!!! HOLD YOUR FIRE! DO NOT SHOOT! GET AWAY FROM

THERE KISARAGI!” Ah yes, and with one factor unknowing getting herself in the way, things

Just keep getting worst and worst. “Chief Kurama! What’s going on.” Dazed and confused (for

so long it’s not true, a-wanted woman Kurama never bargain for), clumsy old useless Miss

Kisaragi started to look at her surroundings. “Hey, what’s going on?” She asks as the persona of

Captain Oblivious took over her mind. Hey Kisaragi, there’s a full squad of guards in front of

you with guns focus on some naked chick and some old Jewish dude wearing this outlandish

body suit and armor. It’s just another day at the office my dear.

“KISARAGI! GET OUT OF THERE NOW!” Kurama warned, but just like the poor

folks during Hurricane Katrina, Kisaragi ignored that warning. And what happens when you

ignore life-or-death warnings? Well, let my friend Lucy explain that or rather, myself since

she’s gonna do the actions. A bloodied floating handprint started floating around the area where

Kisaragi sat. At this point, something in her ditzy mind should tell her to “GET THE HELL

AWAYFROM THERE! ” but alas, Darwin wins again. We hear that ol’ so familiar sound of

skin and flesh ripping apart from the body and it’s the same old thing. Seconds later, we see

Kisaragi’s head floating in midair while her body just flowing drop to the floor. Hey, she’s like

the black guy in the classic horror movies that get killed first or the moronic teenager that has to

go first in today’s modern horror tales.

“SHOOT THEM!” And with Kurama’s command, the remaining guards expelled bullets

from their guns which they tried to travel to Magneto and Lucy’s bodies. Magneto once again

put up an electromagnet barrier to surround himself while Lucy use her own powers to pick up

the headless body of Kisaragi and shield herself from the bullets (hey Kisaragi, if you can hear

me in Heaven, you did had an use in this life after all! MEAT SHEILD!). Bored, Magneto use

his skill being the master of magnets and metals to steal control of the majority of the guards’

guns and did the honor of killing some of them. A lucky few manage to escape, only to share the

same fate as their fallen comrades by the invisible hands of Lucy.

Kurama just stared at both Magneto and Lucy, but Lucy especially (and no, not because

Lucy is naked, has beautiful curves and the fact her pubic area is shav- okay folks; I think that’s

too much information for today. This isn’t an NC-17 story.) as they made their way to the

emergency exits. Magneto extended his electric magnetic changed hand and no, not to shake

Kurama’s hand for a job well done on letting Lucy escape and Magento sneak into the

building, Magneto was going to finish the job and kill Kurama.

“Don’t kill him. Not at this point. I want that honor at a later time.” Lucy spoke silently

to Magneto. He just nodded, honoring her request and let gravity drop his hand. Lucy gave

Kurama a murderous stare through her helmet as she and Magneto walked away but not before

using one of her Vector’s hands to give Kurama a pat on the back, leaving a blood stained hand-

print on his suit. Dazed and confused (wait, I already used that line. Darn you, Led Zeppelin

and your awesome music),Kurama called for the units outside of the building.

“They’re both heading towards the emergency exits. Lower the gates and capture Lucy

and the man. We’ll kill the man after we interrogate him.”

No response. This is not good. I think. I dunno.

“****. You fools! Listen to me!” Once again, there is no response. I doubt Magneto

may had done anything to anyone outside and Lucy haven’t been outside for God knows how

long and yet, I also doubt the majority of the guards were killed in the ambush. Anyways,

Magneto and Lucy made their way to the emergency exit door, only to find that outside was a

cliff, a steep cliff that was being assaulted by the ocean’s waves.

“So how do we manage to get across?”

“Keep that helmet on and I shall show you.”

Magneto show how powerful he is in his manipulation of metal by levitating both himself and

Lucy from the ground.

“I can do more than just lift and control anything encase in metal, young

child.”

As Magneto and Lucy started floating, Kurama was with two guards in a nearby watch

tower that was positioned by the sea. Each guard had a sniper rifle trained on either Magneto or

Lucy. Obviously, what shots the guards were about ready to fire are not warning shots.

Remember, snipers aren’t trained for that.

“With opponents like Lucy and that man, we cannot risk the chance of missing a shot or

having to fire a second shot each.” Kurama warned.

“Sir, these rifles are 50-calbiur anti-tank rifles. These have more than enough killing

power. Her vectors will not be able to pick up on the bullet but for the man, I do not know but

then again, if this can penetrate a tank, then shattering through his helmet will be effortless.”

“Aim for the back of their heads and once you have a clean shot, fire. Do not take any chances.”

And with that, the snipers focus on their targets, crosshairs line up, fingers pull triggers which

issued the fast-pace command to fire their powerful projectiles at their opponents. And with this

created a domino effect but does the final two dominoes fall despite what logic and physics have stated about this effect?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, I am sorry for the ****ty format.

Alright, this is an idea for Zelda Wii I have. I have yet too announce a name.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Link, is now better known around Hyrule, and is proud for it. He is depressed because he misses Midna.
Link was wearing his green tunic, and had his sword in hand, and was teaching Colin some swordplay.
He is out in the field one day, and it turns too night. He had no idea why, but then it just changed back to light.
He learned that what happened is called a Dark Trail. It means Zant is watching you. But many of people have disappeared because of the dark trails, and Link is the only one that knows why. He then has to stop the dark trails from happening and save the people. But that requires two things: The Master Sword, and finding a passage way to the Palace of Twilight.
He meets some fairy girl along the way, who guides him over his quest. Her tribe is unknown though.
By the time you do five dungeons, you will be able to take the Master Sword out of its pedestal, because when he put it back, no man without the five sacred pendants could grab it from its pedestal.
Link then finds out how he can enter the Palace of Twilight. He has to get in another dark trail, but when he finds a dark trail, it warps him into a cell, then Link just gets warped right back where he started.
You'll have to do three dungeons to complete a book called Legends of Twilight, but Link can't read it, so you'll have to do a ton of side quests to be able to read it. Once you find the person who can read it, you'll have to show it to Princess Zelda.
Once your at the castle, Zant appears and he challenges war against Hyrule. So be it.
After the war starts, you'll see that whenever you enter a dark trail, you are in the cell, but then you will need to collect certain armor so you are strong enough to hand the new twilight force, and will be able to fight Zant.
You do three dungeons, and your armor is complete. Then you make your way to the Palace of Twilight, and defeat Zant.
You then learn that if you collect three pieces of the triforce, the almighty triforce will actually appear in Hyrule Castle.
You do another three dungeons, but you can't enter the castle, no one can until the war ends. You as Link, will have to fight your way to the middle of the war and face Ganondorf. He is harder than ever, but his return is a mystery.
After you defeat him, you go and collect the triforce, and all of evil ends forever.

But who is to say the triforce was sealed away? Here comes a sequel.

I hope you liked it. :D

If people post positivly to chapter one, I'll release the others. Enjoy.

This is but one of the legends of which the people speak...

Long ago, in the ancient land of Hyrule, a golden power lay hidden in a temple. Every thing was peaceful in this land, the trees and mountains, to the streams that flowed through the towns and villages in Hyrule. Until one day, an evil creature came, and tried to take the power for himself. The people of Hyrule could not do anything, and any swordsmen who tried to stop him were struck down by the evil. And then, when all hope seemed to be lost, a young boy, clothed in a green tunic and belt, with a green hood like hat, appeared as if from no where. He had a sword that repelled evil and a shield on his back, and rode on a brown, strong, loyal horse. The young man, clothed in all green, struck down the evil creature, without saying a word. He dodged and blocked with Great skill, and every time the evil creature tried to strike, the boy was behind him suddenly, and quickly, in the end, the boy drove his blade into the back of the creature, who screamed, and fell to the ground. The gold power was recovered back to Hyrule temple, and the beast was never heard or seen of again, defeated. And then, before Hyrule’s people could say thank you, the boy disappeared, as suddenly as he had came. The boy was known as the hero of time, who travelled through time to save the lands.

Years later, a fell wind blew across Hyrule. The evil creature was back, and he wanted the golden power. But when the people came to realise, no one panicked. They all knew that the hero in green would save them.....But the hero did not appear. The golden power was stolen, and all the buildings destroyed. All the people could do was appeal to the gods.

What became of that kingdom? None remain who know. It was completely wiped from history, and never thought in history lessons in schools. But its legend survived on the winds breath.

Part 1: Din

Chapter 1
The boy in green

On a certain island on the great sea, it became tradition to take young boys, and clothe them in green like the hero of time, when they became of age, as a celebration. The elderly ones only wished that the boys could hold the same courage as the hero of time.

Somewhere across the great sea, on Outset island, a young boy named Link awoke. He rubbed his eyes, and when he opened them, he was staring at the sun. Link turned away, and shut his eyes again. When he opened them, his little sister, Aryll, was in front of him. Link wished he was asleep, and closed his eyes.
“Good Morning!” Aryll said cheerfully. Link did not answer. He was still half dazed. When he came to his senses again, he remembered now. He had fallen asleep on top of the lookout close to the shore, and it was now morning. “Do you have any idea what day it is today, big brother?” Aryll asked cheerfully. Monday? Tuesday? Link didn’t remember. He just wanted to go back to sleep. “Its your birthday!” Suddenly, Link burst well and truly awake, and opened his eyes. There was Aryll. She was quite short and only 6, or 7. She had big blue eyes and blonde hair, and wore a pretty blue dress with orange and yellow flowers on it. Anyone who saw her would say that she was adorable. The lookout was Aryll’s favourite spot on the whole island, even tough the island was incredibly small. She loves seagulls, and seagulls love her. When Link was chasing the island pigs (his hobby) the seagulls would scram, but they were not afraid of Aryll. “You're still half asleep aren’t you? Grandma has been waiting down at the house.” Link walked to the edge of the tower and looked out over the small tropical island, and at the house. “She said something about a celebration... I’m not sure. But she told me to come and get you.” Link climbed town the tower ladder and walked along the dock across the water, turning right at the end. Outset Island was a small place, with about 3 or 4 houses. It was easy for Link to know everyone. Palm trees everywhere you look, and sandy beaches. After following the sandy path, Link opened the door to his small, one-roomed house. Link’s house felt cosy to him, with the beds, the fireplace, and the family shield hanging on the wall. Link had always wondered about that shield. Sure enough, inside was Grandma.

“Oh, hello dear.” Link walked close to his grandmother, as she was a bit short of hearing. “Happy birthday Link. Now, I need to explain some thing to you. Tonight, everyone on Outset island is coming over for your birthday party. But, on that night there is also going to be another celebration. Here.” Grandma handed Link some green clothes with a belt and hood. “You are to put these on at the celebration. Try them on now, dear.” Link got changed from his pyjamas into the green tunic. “Oh, he looks just like the hero of time... If only he could hold such courage...” Grandma said under her breath, as a tear rolled down her face. A confused look beheld Link. “Oh, nothing” She sniffed. “Now, go and show your sister. But, before you go, remember to pay Orca a visit. I’m sure he would like to say happy birthday.”
Orca was the only one on Outset island who knew anything about swordplay. Link walked along the path, and into Orca’s house. Orca was a wise, yet strong old man, who was quite tall. He had long grey hair and a beard, and carried a spear as protection. Orca was great with any weapon. When Link entered his small, old house, Orca was attacking a whale shaped target on the wall. The whale had spears stuck into it, and marks from where Orca had slashed at it.
“Oh, hello there Link. Happy birthday kiddo!” Orca stopped attacking the wooden whale target, and paid attention to Link. “Link, I have nothing to give you for your birthday, but the way of the sword. You are now old enough to wear those clothes, yes? Then I shall teach you how to defend your self against a creature or some thing. Here.” Orca handed Link a short, yet sharp sword, and trained him. The counter attack, the jumping spin attack. Everything. After thanking Orca for his wisdom, Link bowed, a swordsman’s way of respect, handed back the sword and left.

When Link returned to the tower, and up the ladder, Aryll was looking at the seagulls. She turned around.
“He he! Oh, big brother you look funny! Are those clothes for the celebration thing? Apart from your birthday, what could we be celebrating tonight?” Aryll asked so many questions. “Oh, and one other thing.” Aryll said, as she reached deep into her pocket. “Close your eyes, and hold out your hand... Happy Birthday!” Link opened his eyes, and in his hands was a telescope. The one Aryll used to watch the seagulls up on the lookout, her hobby. “You can have a lend of it Link. But you have to give it back soon!” Aryll said. “Oh, why don't you try using it now?” Link looked through the telescope at the house, and the red post-box outside of the house. The post man was down there. He was one of the Rito tribe. The Rito were half man half bird creatures, who delivered mail across the seas, taking advantage of flight. There was no other way to get letters around the great sea. The Rito mailman was putting letters into the red post-box, when suddenly, he looked up. Link , who was still looking through the telescope, zoomed in closer. The mailman was defiantly looking at something in the sky. Then, the mailman yelled and flapped his wings hysterically, and Aryll screamed. “Link! There! Up in the sky! Look up in the sky!” Link jerked the telescope upwards to see what the postman and Aryll were looking at, and his heart skipped a beat.

The legend of Link
Trail of passage
Chapter 1

Link sat up in his bed and yawned. The sun shone brightly through the window, lighting the small room. The wooden walls were adorned with various pictures and artefacts supposed to belong to one person. The legendary hero of time.

One picture showed him how it was thought he looked just before the time he disappeared. He was not much older than Link himself, and was dressed in a green tunic with white tights. Brown boots covered his feet, protecting them from thorns and other nasty things on the ground. The young man’s face looked old, worn and scared. Many were just little scratched from near misses, but he had one that seemed to split his face in two. It ran from his hair line right down to his chin. It was said he got that from the man of great evil, who was never spoken about anymore.

His icy blue eyes seemed to stare through everything, instead of at something. The small pointed nose added to this effect. There was no smile on his lips. It was almost like he had forgotten how to smile along time before. His hands were covered in a pair of gold laced gauntlets, that gave the hero the strength of a full grown goron. His tunic was more patches and repairs than actual tunic, because he had worn little else for years.

On his back was a mirror like shield that could repel magic back at its user, or absorb the power to use later. Over his right shoulder floated a small orb of light, known as a fairy. This fairy was his helper and taught many things over his travels. Over his left shoulder was the hilt of a sword. But not just any sword. That sword was the one that joined him in legend. A sword so powerful that a single scratch could eliminate any traces of evil from a person, and cleave the darkness in two.

“The sword of masters.” Link whispered. “The only weapon of the Hero of Time.” He jumped out of bed and pulled on his own green tunic. The young man had built his life around what he thought that legendary hero was like. Everything he had was related to him in some way. From his replica sword, right down to his brown leather boots, which he hastily pulled onto his feet.

He took one last look at the picture of the hero on his wall. His true memory lost to the ravages of time. He really was nothing more than a legend now. But it was a legend Link truly believed in. Then he walked outside his door, onto a wooden platform above the forest floor. He climbed down the ladder and turned to look at his house. It was carved out of the trunk of an old tree that had died years ago. It was the one place Link had ever felt at peace.

“Hey Link!” A bright happy voice he recognised called “Dad was looking for you!” The young man turned around and looked at the new arrival.

Layla, the town mayors daughter, was such a beautiful sight to behold for any man. Her sapphire blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight. She had a small stubby nose, just like her father, and a set of full red lips. She wore a plain and simple dress that went down to her ankles. She had always believed she was no better than anyone else, even if she was the mayors daughter. Her skin was soft and smooth, giving her and ageless appearance. Link had become quite attached to her over the many years they had known each other. But not once had he told her anything to do with what he was feeling. He thought it would only ruin their friendship.

“Where is he then?” Link asked her

“In the great clearing I think.” With a slight smile Link turned and walked towards the great clearing at the centre of the town.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Requiem of a Soul takes place in an altered reality of the story. Most changes should be easy to spot, but others may only be referred to vaguely. Keep in mind, while reading Fullmetal Alchemist: Requiem of a Soul, that it is an alternate reality, and a fiction; some things will stay the same, and some things will change.

"Edward Elric? I'm Lt. Colonel Jasper Reyes. Führer Mustang sent me to escort you back to Central." The blue-eyed, five-foot-eight Lt. Colonel had been waiting for at least half-an-hour, if not more, for the famed Fullmetal Alchemist to arrive by train in Rush Valley.

"WHAT?! I just got here! I need to get my automail adjusted!" Ed retorted.

"If you wait a few more minutes, your automail mechanic will be here." After saluting quickly, he continued. "I'm sorry this was so sudden, but another gang of alchemists have shown their faces. Even still, they've managed to stay hidden extremely well, and put up a good fight. Even Major Pierre Valance was severely injured."

Ed stared back discontentedly, but relaxed as he sat on a nearby bench. "The Iceberg Alchemist? Hrm..." Jasper lifted an eyebrow at Ed.

"What's that supposed to mean? Pierre is a great alchemist, and thankfully, he's on our side... Unlike Issac McDougal..."

"After him, I don't know if I trust any icy alchemists." Jasper frowned, but didn't pursue the matter further. Instead, he sat down next to Edward, and waited for Winry Rockbell, the automail mechanic of both he and Ed.

Jasper was a 42-year-old State Alchemist that had recently been promoted to Lt. Colonel. He was Führer Roy Mustang's right-hand man for jobs outside of Central City, usually sent to disperse gang groupings or riots. Escort, however, was not his forte. His alchemical abilities tended to be somewhat unpredictable, so while it was effective against groups of people, it wasn't the best choice for the cramped quarters of trains, the primary method of travel through Amestris. For this reason, he thought it strange that the Führer ordered him to escort Edward.

After only a few minutes, Ed could see Winry running through the train station with two military personnel. Each was carrying a couple bags, presumably filled with automail maintenance/repair equipment, and some personal items. As soon as she was within a few metres, she called out.

"Ed!" She was just as cheery as usual when she tackled Ed in a big hug. Not expecting this, Edward was knocked to the ground, taking Winry with him.

"Gah! Winry! Get-- hrmph --off!" Ed struggled to get up, but Winry had him pinned. She stuck her bottom lip out and frowned at Ed.

"Just for that, maybe I should make pay full-price for your maintenance." She half-looked away at Jasper, and got up. "But it's not like you can't pay for it anyway." Turning her gaze all the way to the Lt. Colonel, she held out her hand. "Jasper."

Jasper took her hand, and shaking it, greeted her. "Good afternoon, Winry." Ed stood up and dusted himself off. Jasper looked at his silver pocket-watch, and then at Ed. "Since we're all here, we should get on the train. It'll be leaving for Central soon." Ed sighed loudly, and took his bag while turning around to start for the train.

He stopped mid-step. Jasper saw it too.

Both alchemists dropped what they were holding, and flipped around, facing to the left of the boarding station. Three gang members were running straight for the group. The two officers pulled out their pistols, but Jasper put up his hand. Ed clapped his hands together, before dragging his left hand over his right automail arm, shaping it into a long blade. Jasper more simply pointed his left hand, also made of automail, at the attackers. He flicked his arm as though he was cracking a whip, and a long bolt of electricity flew out, almost instantly striking the left gang member's legs. He tripped, and had trouble standing up. The officers went around the flank to secure him, while avoiding the other two goons.

Jasper held his arm out, visibly charging it with energy. However, Ed shot off towards the attackers, forcing Jasper to follow quickly. Both goons were carrying sabres, but these were no match against the now-famous Rockbell Automail that these two alchemists sported. When the blade of Jasper's assailant struck his arm, the man was quickly electrocuted, and literally flew back a few feet, completely stunned. Ed also had little trouble subduing his opponent, sending a swift kick with his left leg to the man's shin, after blocking a second swing. A punch directly to the face, and the man was down.

"Geez, these guys are getting sloppy! They used to actually put up a fight." Ed started to laugh, remembering back when gangs started to form. Back then their funds were greater, and there were a lot more alchemists among them. Now they were running short on cash, and most of their alchemist 'buddies' had been captured by the Amestris Military.

Jasper joined in the little laugh. "Haha, even a green bean like you can take 'em down without trying." Hearing this, the two officers quickly ran to either side of Ed, and grabbed his arms right as he started to flail around.

"DON'T CALL ME THAT! I'M NOT SMALL! I'M NOT A GREEN BEAN!" Jasper only laughed harder.

"Well hey, at least I didn't call you a bean-sprout! Now then," he said, regaining his composure, and addressing the two officers. "Release Edward, and go get someone to take care of these guys. Ed and I can carry Miss Winry's bags into the train." The two saluted, and signaled for someone of authority there. "We'll make sure the train waits for you," he added before turning around.

~ ----- ~ ----- ~ ----- ~

"Central City! My hometown." Jasper strode confidently off the train, with a big smile on his face. He was born and raised in Central City, and he loved the place. Ed just walked off the train slouching. To him, Central City only meant more work.

Winry stepped off the train, and walked up beside Ed. "We need to have a look at your automail first chance." She craned her neck, looking at Jasper off to her side. "That means you too! Have you been careful with it?" Jasper nodded, smiling. "Good." Taking Ed by the arm, she dragged him over to where Jasper and the two officers were walking to.

"Führer Mustang sent me a message while we were on the train. He's allowing us to spend the rest of the day getting our automail fixed up, and resting before tomorrow." Jasper led the small group out of the station, and right to a black car that was clearly waiting for them. The officers placed Winry's bags in the trunk, but Ed insisted on keeping his bag with him.

Everyone but Jasper got in the car. For one thing, there wasn't room for him, what with Ed's bag and all. He gave the driver specific directions, then saluted Edward. "I'll be along shortly after you arrive. There's something important I need to do." Ed nodded, and the two officers saluted back. Seconds later, the car drove off.

Jasper quickly ran to his small grey car, parked nearby, and turned it on. It only took him a moment to make a complete U-turn, and drive off in the opposite direction of the other car. He had a goal, and intended to make it.

~ ----- ~ ----- ~ ----- ~

"Oi, where's Jasper already?" Ed was getting really annoyed waiting for Jasper to get home. The driver had dropped them off at Jasper's house almost twenty minutes ago, but they couldn't get in without a key.

Winry saw a small grey car zipping along the road towards them. "Oh! Maybe that's him!" Ed jumped up, and walked onto the sidewalk as the car pulled up. Jasper stepped out and called the two officers over. They each pulled out brown paper bags filled with groceries, and carried them over to the door. Jasper ran up and unlocked it, letting everyone in, then ran back to grab some of Winry's bags. Ed took his bag, plus two of Winry's, then wobbled up the steps to the front door.

The inside of the house was small, but cozy. Jasper kept it very clean, with exception to a dish or paper lazily left lying around. The dominate color theme of the place was green and brown, but other colors were easy to find, giving it a varied, lively feeling.

"There's a room in the back, Winry, where you can set out your equipment. There should be a large table there, and what-not." Jasper pointed down a hallway to his left, and Winry nodded. After the officers had placed Jasper's groceries in his kitchen, they came back to help carry Winry's bags into the back room. Ed handed the bags of hers that he was carrying to the officers, then dropped his own bag by the door, before flopping on the green couch in the living room.

"Hey, nice couch you got, Jasper! It's soft." Jasper smiled at Ed's comment, and walked up beside the couch.

"Haha, thanks. At least I won't have to ask you to move over, green bean." His ears perked up as he heard someone running through the house. He turned around to see an officer shoot past him, and restrain Edward, who was trying to grab at Jasper.

"YOU DID IT AGAIN! I'M NOT SMALL!" Ed was flailing around again, but stopped as soon as he heard Winry's call. The officer released him, and watched as he ran down the hall. "Finally, I can get my automail adjusted!"

"Was there really something that wrong with his automail?" Jasper was only half-asking the officer next to him. They shrugged to each other and followed along down the hall. Like the rest of the house, it was small, but looked nice with its ivy wallpaper.

In the back room, Winry was still setting up some of her equipment, but had also started to disconnect Ed's right arm. A few bolts were jammed, and the shoulder was beat up pretty bad. "Oh, wow. That is kinda bad," Jasper pointed out.

Ed threw him an 'I-told-you-so' glance. "You think? Geez. What about your automail, Jasper?"

"Oh, it's not so bad. Just needs a little adjusting. And..." He paused a moment, glancing at Winry, who was just now detaching Ed's arm. "I may have fried a circuit. One of the fingers isn't working right, but it doesn't feel jammed." Winry sighed aloud. The wires in the fingers were some of the smallest. Locating which ones weren't working, and then replacing them, was quite a bother.

"I'll get to yours just as soon as I've fixed up Ed's arm," she said calmly. "It'll be a long while, and there's no need for any of you to hang around." She paused for short moment. "Though..." she started, look Ed right in the eye. He jumped off the table and walked over to Jasper, grabbing his coat.

"No thank you. I'm going outside to get some air!" With that, he promptly turned, leaving the room slightly flustered. The two officers held back a chuckle. It was Jasper, however, who spoke.

"Haha, he likes you, and he knows it!" Winry blushed profusely, and she quickly pushed everyone out of the room. The door almost hit Jasper in the face as it slammed shut. He turned around, smiling. "She like him, too," he said quietly before leading the officers out of the hall with him. He felt a bit of a draft coming from the entryway, and found that Edward had left the front door wide open. He stepped out alone to look for Ed.

The search was short, as he found him only a single block away. He ran up and tapped Ed's shoulder. "Hey, the weather's getting cold. You shouldn't just leave the door open like that." Ed just grunted, not even looking at Jasper. In fact, he wasn't looking at anything, just lost in thought. "And hey, you should really be inside... We're going to need you at one-hundred percent tomorrow!" This time Ed just walked off further from the house.

"Can't you let me be for now?" Ed's voice was as demanding as usual, but it wasn't at all too hard for Jasper to hear the sadness and regret in it. He walked beside Ed for a while.

"How long has it been now?"

"Three years, two months, and five days." Jasper nodded.

"That's what I've got, too. I'm just glad you stayed with us afterward. I don't know what state this country would be in if we'd lost you." He sighed, and stopped walking, even though Ed continued. "I'm heading back. Come back when you've nearly frozen, right? I'm sure Winry wouldn't mind warming you up." Ed stopped abruptly, and stared back at Jasper.

"Oh... you...!"

"Haha! Just kidding. But really, come back when you've spent enough time out here." Ed shooed Jasper off with his hand.

"Just get going!" Jasper complied, leaving with a smile. Ed watched him walk all the way back to the house before continuing his walk.

~ ----- ~ ----- ~ ----- ~

Ed opened the front door, and went in. It felt like he'd hit a wall of hot air after entering. "Whoa, it's warm in here!" Jasper spun around, holding a large dish with some potholders.

"Ed! You're back! Hey, dinner's nearly done. Mind getting Winry for me?" Ed nodded, closing the door, and went down the hall. Jasper, meanwhile, placed the hot dish on a place-holder that he had ready on the table. He made sure all five places were set, then went to the fridge to grab some drinks: milk, orange juice, and pink lemonade. He took each and placed them in a specially designed spinning rack on the center of the table. "Looks good. Okay then!"

Just as he finished, Ed came walking back from the hallway. "Winry's washing up a bit; she'll be along shortly." Jasper gave him a thumbs-up, and called over the two officers.

"Joe, you sit there," he said pointing to one of the chairs. "And you, Peter, get to sit there!" Jasper was at the head of the table, the two officers were on one side, while Winry and Edward were to sit on the other side. Winry came around the corner from the hall, still dressed in her work clothes, just as Ed sat down.

"Sorry about my appearance, heh..." Winry apologized a little nervously.

"Don't worry about it! Go ahead and sit here next to the green-- I mean, Edward." Ed shot Jasper a quick glare, but turned back to the food just as quickly. He began dishing large amounts of food onto his plate. "Well, someone's hungry."

"That's right! I promised Al I'd grow taller, and the first step to that is eating enough food!"

"And drinking milk,' Jasper said, pointing it out. Ed's face drooped when he saw that white stuff he hated so much.

"I hate milk."

"But it'll make your bones stronger, and larger!."

"No."

Winry joined in. "Aw, come on! Do it for Al!"

"Hey, no fair! You know I can't refuse that!"

Winry winked playfully at Ed. "Exactly." Edward reluctantly picked up the bottle of milk, and shakily poured it into his cup. He picked it up, scrunching his face at it. Closing his eyes tightly, he downed the whole thing in one go.

"Whoa, hey now Ed! You shouldn't drink milk that way!" Jasper frowned a little at Ed, but smiled a second later when he saw Ed's face of disgust. "You look like you're going to faint, haha!"

Ed put the cup down, and looked Jasper square in the eye. "Wouldn't-- ick -- be so funny if-- nasty --I did faint, would it, now?" Jasper turned away, but still smiled.

"Now that today's entertainment--"

"HEY!" Ed shouted.

"--Is over, let's all eat, right?" The others all agreed, and started digging in. Jasper had made extra, knowing Ed would eat a lot, but also in case some of the others wanted extra. To his surprise, however, once everyone had taken what they wanted, including himself, there was hardly any food left. "Wow, haha, we're all pretty hungry now, aren't we?"

Prologue

Ganondorf once said The Great Sea was a forgotten pool. The King of Hyrule had said "I've scattered the seeds of the future" as his last words. One-Hundreds years have passed since Hyrule had drown. It was forgotten. Once The Legendary Hero of Winds set out far away. He never came back to The Great Sea. The Great Man of evil came out, reclaiming his evil designs. Yet, this man of great evil wasn't Ganondorf nor any enemy The Hero of Winds met. This man ruled the land for years, destroying all that resisted him, every thing in his path. As the years passed the people had no real safe haven. All they could do was did the same their ancestors did. They hoped for the hero to return, but they knew it was impossible. They thought the Hero lived his life already. The Hero didn't appear, letting the Man hunt down the rest of the people. All hope died. No one survived from The Great Sea to say what happened to the sea. The man claimed the last off the lands, Hyrule still forgotten. Then one day occured. It was the summer equinox. The man became very powerful, he had now claimed The Triforce of Wisdom, and Power. All he needed was The Triforce of Courage, to rule not just the world, but the universe. Since He couldn't find The Triforce of Courage, he went to capture the only weapon the can defeat him, the master sword. He couldn't find the master sword after years of searching. As soon as he came to it area. He died. None know how.

The word then spread among The people, yet it was nearly incapable of returning to The Great Sea, where the man's spirit still lurked, hoping to come back, to take its revenge.

The people went around the world again, but a new tale came. It was that The Ganondorf himself was alive, He himself also had The Triforce of Power and Wisdom. The people continued to take refuge from him. But they did not fear much because they believed he cannot go out of his original area. But they yet stood with fear because Ganondorf would set a blazing wind at day to burn the land, and he'll sent a frigid gale to freeze the land to ice.

A boy named link then came up. He was a normal boy from the refuge team.
The Elders Kept their custom, but not knowing why it was how it was. The legend died out. None know, but one elder from the refuge team.

Valley of the Flood
Chapter one: A boy among Zoras

*Whoosh! Clang!* The blue suited boy slashed his sword past me, then back and into my shield. I thrust my sword back at him, and he blocked. We dueled like this, dancing around the dead tree and collapsing doorways, our blades and shields a flurry of sliver, black and blue. At some point during the heated battle, I delivered a powerful enough blow to his sword to knock in straight into the tree, all the way up to the hilt. He reached behind his back, and unsheathed a larger, two handed blade, and lunged at me again. It became a struggle to defend against his attacks, and soon he knocked aside my sword and shield. Before I could defend, he spun around and struck me in the chest. I fell backwards, and through the water I only just was walking on. Just before I lost my vision, I watched him look down at me and smirk, just before he grabbed his sword from the tree.

I pulled myself up from my bed sweat running down my face and back. “*Sigh*, Why do I keep having that dream...” I swung out of bed, grabbed my guitar from against the wall, and walked over to my small window.

I looked out at the aquatic landscape it looked out on, and played a few notes. This always managed to calm me down. I had dreamt about this guy a few other times, but I had only told anyone about the recurring dream, and even then, I only told Ralek, a Zora who had been my friend for as long as I could remember.

“Have that dream again?” He said, right on que. He stood in my doorway, also dripping. He had been swimming early in the morning, like always.

“Yeah. You’re up earlier than usual today.” I said, only now noticing.

“Oh! Yeah, I saw some weird passage while using a new route yesterday, so I decided to check it out today. You gotta see it, it’s amazing what I found!”

“C’m on, just tell me!”

“No, It’s gotta be a surprise!”

“All right, I’m coming.” I got myself ready, pulled on my custom Zora armor, and followed him to a lake the basin. It was just like the dozens of others like it up here, northeast Hyrule, small geysers that had several branching rivers that led to the central lake, or ‘Zora’s Domain’ as outsiders called it.

This one was just closest to our rooms, and coincidentally, was the least used. He jumped in, and swam the opposite way, through a small opening near the rooms.

“How did I miss that?” I said, following. We traveled underground for several feet, then we reached a small chamber, with a single lit torch burning in the center. I assumed Ralek lit it on his first trip.

“You ready?” He asked, pointing to another tunnel, leading down like a water slide.

“Yeah.” He jumped down, and I followed. We slipped and slid down at least a mile, then were spit out a wall and landed in a small, clear body of water, full of rubble. We surfaced, and I looked around.

There were several natural chunks of land laying about, most of the big ones blocking off the water from going further down the valley. The way we came in was the only source of water here, but it gave quite a lot into the small area.

It was open to the skies, but looked like it hadn’t been accessed in a while. The rocks were dusty where the water didn’t hit, and the rubble just lay around; no-one had bothered to move it. I looked to the right, and saw collapsed cave where a waterfall might have been.

Suddenly, my mind exploded into a flurry of images, and I saw the area in the past. It was a maze of land, shooting up out of the ground and wrapping around the area. A waterfall roared down where the cave was. The hole I came in from was much bigger, but no water flowed out.

A young boy with blond hair and a green tunic walked up to the platform before the waterfall, pulled out a blue potato- shaped object, and played a catchy, eleven note tune. As if on command, the waterfall parted, and he jumped through and disappeared from view.

“Dude! DUDE!” I opened my eyes. Apparently I had passed out, because Ralek was shaking me awake.

“I’m up, I’m up.” I pulled myself up against a rock pillar, and stared at the collapsed passage. Could that have been, him? The guy from my dream?

“You okay?” Ralek asked, leaning next to me.

“Yeah. Had a dream, or vision or whatever.”

“Was ‘he’ in it?”

“Man, nothing escapes you, does it?”

“Ha ha, guess not.” We stood there, leaning against the pillar of rubble, until my stomach started growling.

“Man, I’m getting hungry.” I said

“Me too. Let’s go.” Ralek said, crawling back up the tunnel. I followed, and soon, we found our way back to the basin. We then swam down one of the main lake access rivers, and wound up in the central lake.

We swam casually up the large river to the left of the room, and stood up in the shallow waters of the gathering hall. This was like our dining hall, and six long, thin stones had been placed years ago as tables. Our diet consisted of mainly fish, fruit and some mushrooms. Occasionally, we got spices, but it was rare.

We swung by the counter that stood before the kitchen, where our best chefs turned these simple ingredients into delicious dishes. I picked up an apple, as did Ralek. We sat down and ate, then traveled up to the throne room. This was an unofficial gathering room, where the king gave us daily announcements and news.

He was the only one who ever left the river these days, and it was only to meet with the king of Hyrule and the chief of the Gorons. Everyone conversed about these things here, and Ralek and I liked to hang out near the entrance to keep up with important stuff, but also stay in the shadows to keep up the image that we don’t care.

A profound amount of nothing interesting, just like always as of late. I had a hunch that something WAS going on, something we weren’t supposed to know about, but I didn’t dare try to bug our king about it. It just wasn’t worth his temper.

After I was sure there was nothing interesting, I went through the cave to the left in the chamber, then turned right at the fork that presented itself.

For this thread, I shall commence from the beginning....

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prologue

In the Land of Hyrule, there is war.
Twilit shadow cascades across the northern lands upon steeds of darkness. Once thought only to be mere shadows against the Light, the mounted figures lower their lances in the evening’s mist. Ornate armour shields their milk white bodies, shrouded underneath dark cloaks. Vivid cyan glyphs trace the contours of both flesh and iron. Their eyes beneath uniform helms burn brightly against the night’s canopy. Innocence watched in bleak terror as the thunderous sides of war drew ever nigh upon one another.
They are the night. Black hooves dash against cold Hyrulean earth, carrying the weight of both steed and shelled rider. Lance and spear and axe and blade are gripped under tightly enchanted gauntlets.
Indeed, they are the night.
Twilit Knights of the Realm, pure and free, ride against the black foe now unfamiliar. Nearly half a kilometer away, charged the offensive brood. Dark-swirled muscle beneath cursed black flesh, their fingers long and powerful. Tendrils, from behind cold stone masks lash about like the whips of slavers. Only, these creatures that carried the crimson symbols of the Usurper King were not the drivers, but the ones in bondage. Cursed, feral, and potently hazardous. The Twilit Knights knew well of their foes, and for each beast wrested in slay, the deeper the wounds of heartbreak snaked. Their growls and screams lay etched in the minds of the brave few who dared challenge the Darkness.
There were fewer of them now than before, the Knights came to realize. To heed the call of their forsaken Queen, they rode to these pure lands. Still, the screams of the many, so blinded by Darkness drew near.
A young man of Twilight, clad in the most ornate of armours, baring a uniquely plumed helm and boasting both vivid red eyes and broad trim beard, rode before his company. A blackened cape lapped in the passing winds from his broad plated shoulders. The mark of the Twili race emblazoned a pure white squarely at its centre. The Captain of the Twilit company bore no shield, nor spear, but a single short blade crafted from the depths of his people’s will alone. Out of thin Hyrulean air, the blades curvature came into focus and solidified. The Captain’s grip was strong as he pointed his short sword’s razor tip toward the approaching legions of his former brothers.
Brothers they were no more. Cries of anger, terror, bloodlust, and hatred emerged from opposing ranks of Twili and Beast alike. Finally, they became one: a cacophony of steel, claw and shadow.
So many masked beasts rose against the mounted surge. Blades fell and the creatures dissolved, but many more took their respective places. The Twili and their mounts cut a simple swath through the disjointed lines of howling Messengers. For the entire day of every day in the long week, the charges began as such. The Captain broke the mask of his seventh Beast in the charge when his anticipation of his earlier prediction came to being. The mighty shaft of a long spear flew from the hoard of cursed ones. The blackened steel tip passed through the officer’s decorative plume and found concussive residence within the plated chest of the Knight at his immediate flank. The unfortunate soldier gasped for his last breath and passed away before his body met the littered ground.
There is was. A creature standing eleven feet tall, rippled with muscle and agony stomped closer toward the centre of the Twilit charge. More importantly, stomping toward him, the Captain. The cursed Chieftain itself was controlled by the same Darkness that was awash within the former comrades that were being cut down all around him. The cycle had repeated once more. To each skirmish, there was a Dark Lord that controls the fate of all within its ranks. Removing any leader of any side would result in a breakdown of moral and eventually the battle itself. Inevitably, both the Captain and his opposing Lord drew the same conclusion. The Captain reared his steed and shouted in a language unknown to the innocence watching from afar.
At once, the entire Twilit company rallied to their officer and made war against the single Chieftain. Ignoring all other foes, the Twilit Knights lashed and speared at the opposing Lord, despite the drastic efforts of the feral beasts about them. The Lords varied in size and in strength, however, their fates wrought the same results: victory.
Such was the victory at the northern edge of Hyrule’s ravaged lands. The cursed Lord reared its ugly dark head in a last violent throe of life. Each spear wound and each embedded axe head shortened those unrestrained synapses. Finally, the beast collapsed and was silent. The battle plains were silent with the dead. The Messenger foe, once large and threatening, gave a final harmonic scream before they themselves fell. Their reigns broken, each beast dissolved along with their field master. There were no shout of rapturous victory, nor were there smiled that dared impress. The Captain took a sweeping glance at the remnants of his company. Rest well, brothers. You have earned your keep in the halls of our ancestors.

The mist cleared as the winds blew strong once more. The cold air nibbled at the Captain’s face as he removed his helm. The black shroud that hooded his head was lowered in an effort to dry the perspiration that collected beneath. A strong hand wiped clear the collection within his thick stubble of chin hair.
The stones became visible then, as the mist lifted. Unseen before, they rose tall. Soon, there were more and more that rose. Large slabs of stone, carved and arranged in such a peculiar fashion that none understood their purpose.
Amazing. Astounding. Was this what they were digging for? These were the queries that passed among the tattered few who remained on the field.
At last, the stone slabs were ceased from the ground which they emerged. From disturbed Hyrulean earth those structures rose to form a pattern seen only from the sky. A wide clearing resided within the perimeter that the stones created. The Captain and his flabbergasted few approached silently and slowly their prize, if a prize indeed it was. Non risked a touch, but all risked their stares. Such a mysterious formation, yet no purpose arose as to the existence of such a structure.
The Captain, his entire company eagerly awaiting his words, said nothing but bravely placed an open palm upon the naked surface of the nearest stone. From the point where his hand made contact, sharp blue lines emerged. Twisting and turning, forming curious, brightly lit mazes and patterns, the lines halted not until the last snakes of blue light returned to the point of origin. A resonation was felt from the glyphs that formed. For as magical as the event itself, there was no other that followed. The stone perimeter simply sat and pulsated with its newfound light. Of the many strange and unfortunate events to pass through our lost lands, these stones who refuse to yield their purpose are among the cruelest.
There was a noise. A rustling noise that caught the ears of those Twili that no longer possessed any. All in the mounted Twili unit turned and lowered their arms in preparation.

***

Ilia had to keep Telma silent, but ever since the change, she had developed a restless nature that coincided with her usual stout assertiveness. In the short time that the young maid from Ordonna had known the Hylian tavern owner, she had never witnessed such impulsiveness. This curse, this vaunted magic was foul business, though Telma’s shape was foreign, her inner self remained. Or what could be seen as her inner self. Throughout the entire battle, both women watched in immobile silence. Even when the last Beast fell, Telma was calm. Then, those mysterious stones rose from the ground and Ilia’s cursed comrade became restless. The bearded victor, that Ilia regarded as the company commander, took the initiative to approach the mystery. Telma’s cursed eyes bulged further from their pink sockets as the bearded one placed his hand upon the nearest stone.
“Ignorant Interlopers!” hissed Telma as she attempted to claw her way out of the shrubs they used as cover. It took nearly all of her strength to withhold the poor creature, lest the victorious riders mistook her for another foe. The pain of guilt should any harm befall Telma would be too great for such a kind heart to bare. Alas, her grip failed her and Telma was loose to stumble forward into the clear. Ilia gasped in terror as the deformed bar lady made her way across the open toward the glowing stones.

***

The Captain could not believe his own scarlet eyes. The figure that stumbled from the bushes took his entire company aback. It was large, pink and angry looking. Yet, for all of its demeanour, the short dwarfish creature bared no threatening representations. Large brown eyes, those that appeared several sizes too wide for the pink sockets glared only at him. Pointed ears had golden loops pierced into them. Round pink hips suggested a feminine build, large lips and a slight waddle confirmed the suggestion.
It spoke, saying, “Have you no idea what this place means. O Captain of the Twilight?”
Another voice shouted after her, “Telma, wait!” Captain sought the voice’s origin. A human female?
This one who caught up with the pink dwarf was a fragile one indeed. Short golden hair was tied back to make way for the brilliant blue eyes that accommodated the petite thin visage.
“What do you think you’re doing, provoking them like that? You could be killed!” A strong head held such motherly words. Humans and their emotions. The Captain simply stared in confusion.
“O Captain of Twilight,” began the pink one. “I offer to you, information most valuable to your cause, should thou choose to heed my call.”

To humans, it was gibberish. To the Twili, it was their native tongue. How could this one speak so fluently, though she clearly does not belong to us. The human female at her side did not appear to understand. Instead, she chose to plead with the Captain, “Please, sir. My friend is not well. She has been transformed and I do not know how to help her. Her name is Telma.”
Hylian, a simple language. Captain decided to acquiesce, “She has been cursed.” The human fell silent and he continued, “However, this form is born not from the evil that my company seek to destroy.”
“Can you help her?” asked the female pleadingly. Those eyes somehow tore a hole in the Captain’s own emotional defences. A heart hardened by combat somehow shatters at the will of a civilian, or by the looks of her simple dress, peasant woman.
Before he could answer, the Captain was derailed by the pink one, “We have no time for idle chatter, come O Captain, there is much to be said.”

***

The Captain appeared to have considered it as he dismounted his dark steed. Those creatures upon which the victors rode were unlike any that Ilia had seen before. They were dark, featureless. There was no beauty that Ilia could see like she saw in a horse. She thought of Maeyn, the mare from Ordonna. Thoughts of the beautiful horse eventually melted into thoughts of Link, Maeyn’s rider. Thoughts of Link transpired into the thoughts of her mission. By the time Ilia shook those thoughts away for the sake of the moment, she realized that Telma had disappeared into the lines of Dark victors. The Captain, as it seemed had taken the Castle Towner in a private audience, to treat in a language that Telma had never spoken before. That is, never chosen to speak before.
Strange tidings and stranger results. She had much to learn of these victors and the significance of this mysterious structure.

Ilia wondered at the possible outcomes of her mission. Were they even worth the possible results?

This is a story I wrote in my spare time. It is Malink, and is very long for fanfic. It's not even done yet! Please leave comments, with no swearing and constructive encouragement and critisism. It would be rated G, but there are going to be some (mildly) violent elements.

Part 1: The Beginning
Chapter 1

Malon wiped the sweat off her brow, leaning on her broom. It had been a hard day's work, and she was ready to rest. She began to trudge toward her horse, squinting at the sun. Her red hair sparkled, and apart from her clothes, she did not look like a ranch girl. But here she was at Lon Lon Ranch, tending the cows and horses.
Malon was a fairly tall and mature girl with red hair and blue eyes. She was thirteen years old, but she was beyond her years physically and mentally. She loved horses with a passion and was lucky enough to live with them, but she was still lonely. How could she not, with no one around but Ingo?
Ingo, the former ranch hand, had taken over the ranch, and now no one knew where her father, Talon was.
One day, he went out on a Lon Lon Milk delivery, and disappeared. Malon, on the other hand, had nowhere else to go, and she now did most of the work on the ranch, lest Ingo hurt the horses. Ingo pushed her hard, and was a beast to her.
Malon sighed as she moved to the horse pen. Riding at the end of the day was relaxing to her. She walked over to Epona, her favorite horse and climbed up onto the saddle. She was just about to ride when Ingo showed up. “What are you doing, girl?”
“Just horse-riding,” Malon replied innocently.
“I'm not paying you to ride! I'm paying you to work!”
Malon bit back the reply, You're not paying me at all, and instead said, “I've finished all my work for the day, sir.”
“Um...grhm....” Ingo grumbled. He could not find a substantial reply to this, so he left the pen, grumbling.
Malon smiled at outwitting her guardian and brought Epona to a slow trot. She rode around and around the horse pen, somberly thinking of her tedious life. Feed horses…brush horses…milk cows… It went on and on. If only she at least had a friend…
She had had a friend once. What was his name? It had been so long, she couldn’t remember.
She wished she could see him again.

*                                           *                                             *

“Ahh…”
Link sat up on his bed and stretched. He rubbed his eyes and stepped outside for a breath of fresh air after a short nap...
Rain. Pouring rain. So much for his plans of a picnic.
Link had been helping his neighbors cut grass, and had taken a nap afterward. He was hoping to have a picnic dinner.
Link went back into his house, grumbling to himself. Of course it rains today of all days... His stomach grumbled and he went back inside for something to eat. He opened his cupboard and saw...
Nothing. Only the last few drops of Lon Lon Milk.
At the same time, Link's fairy, Navi, was waking up. Navi was, to the untrained eye, just a small white dot (with wings?), like most fairies, but that's what she was. A fairy.
“Mmm, Link?” she called.
“Yes, Navi?”
“Do we have any Lon Lon Milk left?”
Link sighed. There was only enough in the bottle for Navi to eat...but it was so refreshing and nourishing. “Sure, help yourself,” he replied finally, taking the cork out of the bottle. Navi flew into the bottle and began gulping it down. Link sighed again. No dinner for him today.
Actually, it had been more than a year since he'd been to Lon Lon Ranch. He hadn't seen Epona the horse, Talon, or...
Malon!
Oh, no! Link thought. I haven't seen Malon in... almost a whole year! Oh, wow! I've got to go see her!
Link pulled himself together and called to Navi. “Hey, Navi? We're going to go to Lon Lon Ranch today.”
Navi coughed and sputtered. “Lon Lon Ranch? We haven't gone there in ages!”
Link nodded. “Yes, I know. I can't wait to see Malon again!”
Navi smiled inwardly. “And on a personal note: Do you like Malon?”
Now it was Link's turn to choke. “What!? No! We're just friends, that's all!”
Navi made a movement that looked remarkably like a shrug. “Just asking. You talk about her in your sleep. It seemed like I should ask. And one more thing: It's raining! How do we get to the ranch?”
Link smiled, but his cheeks were still red. “I think it'll stop raining soon. We could check with Mashik to be sure.” Mashik was another person in Kokiri Village, and could predict the weather fairly well. He even taught Link a few tricks.
“Okay. What time, Mr. Weatherman?”
“Hmm. We'll have to see Mashik for that.”

*                                            *                                            *

At six o' clock, Link and Navi finally set out to the ranch. They ran through Kokiri Village. They ran through Hyrule Field. Navi speculated Link was pretty excited to see Malon. They ran all the way to Lon Lon Ranch.
When they got there, they walked through the path between the two buildings for people and animals. To their left was the barn for cows and chickens, and to their right was the house where the people lived.
Once Link walked through that passage, he could see the rest of the ranch, including a person riding a horse.
Malon!

Chapter 2

“Malon! Malon!”
Malon could hear someone shouting at her. “Whoa!” she said to Epona, and turned around. It looked like a boy, about her age, maybe a little older. Wearing a green tunic...
Link!
She dismounted Epona and started running towards him. That was his name. Link. The name felt like sugar on her tongue. A real friend.
“Link!” Her mind whirled. It all came back to her. He had come here once...no, twice. 'Fairy Boy' is what she had called him the first time, when she was just five and he was...probably seven or eight. The second time, he had been fifteen, but his stay was brief. He was sixteen now. Maybe this time he would stay.
She ran up to him and they gave each other an affectionate hug. Just as quickly, though, they pulled away, embarrassed. Malon couldn't find the right words to say, so she said the first thing that came to mind.
“Hi there, 'Fairy Boy!'” she said.
“Hi, Malon!” he said. “I'm sorry I haven't been here in so long! And, wow...do I have a story to tell you!”
“Well, I'd love to hear it!” Malon replied. “Over a few nice glasses of, what else, Lon Lon Milk.”
Link grinned. It was great to see her. “Sure. That works out well, since I haven't had any breakfast.”
They went into the house and Link told her the whole story of finding the three spiritual stones and finding the Ocarina of Time and defeating Ganondorf himself. Malon was enthralled during the whole conversation, occasionally taking sips of her milk. It wasn't just Link that talked, though. He and Malon went back and forth quite a few times.
“After I was returned to my time,” Link said, “Things just sort of slowed down. I pretty much forgot about everything outside the village except for the market. Even...” Link was going to say, “Even you,” but he didn't want to make Malon unhappy. Luckily for him, she didn't notice.
Suddenly, Ingo burst into the room. “You, girl!” he said. “I've got a job for you. One of those cows is moaning and groaning, and I want to finish my dinner in peace. Who is this kid?” He asked, pointing at Link.”
“He's a friend,” Malon replied defiantly. “He's visiting.”
“Pleased to meet you-” Link said.
“Whoever he is,” Ingo said, completely ignoring Link, “Make sure he doesn't get in the way of your chores!”
He left the room, slamming the door. “Well, he was nice,” Link said sarcastically. “Not that that's changed over the years.”
“That's Ingo, all right,” Malon said. “He's taken over the ranch. “If I don't do everything he says, he will treat the horses so badly...”
Link instantly felt sorry for her. How cruel of Ingo, to work a girl so hard! He would have to do something about it.
But Malon continued. “Here, c'mon. I'd like some help...as long as you wouldn't mind.” Link nodded, she grabbed him by the hand, and led him towards the cows.

*                                             *                                           *

After they had pulled the thorn, since the cow had a thorn stuck in her hoof and milked the cow, they went to Malon's room. “This is it,” Malon said, waving her hand around the room.
It was a surprisingly large room, with a bed and dresser. And on the dresser was...
“An ocarina!?” Link blurted. “You have an ocarina?”
“Mm hmm,” Malon replied. “I learned to play when I was seven. I only learned to play one song...but I learned it to perfection.” She gave a little half-smile and continued. “You still have yours?”
“I got two new ones. I can play soprano or alto. Yours?”
“Soprano.”
Without Malon even saying a word, Link knew what song she learned.
Her mother's.
The one Malon had taught him so long ago, when they were young...
They began to play, slowly, a beautiful duet. The chords and harmonies flowed perfectly, like two masters of the art, playing the ocarina. They played for five straight minutes. Five wonderful minutes of playing that amazing song. Painting a beautiful picture of the ranch...no, of the world. In peace.
The great duet ended with Link on a low D, and Malon on a high F sharp. They each held the note as long as their breath would allow. Afterward, they lay down their ocarinas and stared at each other. Finally, Malon broke the silence with a deep sigh, and lowered her gaze to the ocarina.
“It's the last thing I have of my mother,” she explained softly, referring to her ocarina. “I've had it since she...died. I always remember her when I play it.”
Link cleared his throat and stood up awkwardly, ready to say goodbye.
“Wait, don't go,” Malon said. She realized that sounded odd, and corrected herself: “I mean, you're welcome to stay as long as you want.”
Link smiled. Not a half smile, nor a fake smile, but a smile of pure happiness. “I would like that, Malon,” he said fondly. “I'd like that a lot.”

Chapter Three

When they woke up, Malon went straight to work in the kitchen, preparing three omelets. Link felt compelled to work too, and began pouring Lon Lon Milk for the three of them and setting the table. Neither of them talked about the previous night (except for Malon's inquiry of, “How did you sleep, Link?” to which he answered, “Great!” and Malon concluded, “Good, me too.”), but both of them thought about it.
Ingo entered the room shortly after eight, yelling, “Where's my Chateau Romani!?”
“What are you talking about?” Malon asked.
“Impudent child!” he yelled. “I told you to go down to the market and get me some wine! I always drink wine in the morning!”
Malon mouthed the words “This is new,” to Link. She quickly replied to her livid master, “I am so sorry. I'll go to the market right away to get you your all-important wine.”
Ingo screwed up his face to scrutinize her. Having lived with no one but Malon for so long, he had forgotten how to recognize sarcasm. “Fine,” he spat finally. He quickly added, “And take your leprechaun with you.”
Link filled with rage at the man, but despite what his heart and mind were telling him to do, he replied politely, “I'll keep her safe.”
Ingo muttered something about not caring, and motioned towards the door. Both Malon and Link rushed out the door, ready to be away from Ingo. “I guess we have an errand to run,” Malon said. “Shall we?”
Link swept his hand elegantly in the direction they were to go. Malon put her hand to her mouth and giggled, something she had not done in a very long time.
“Who drinks wine in the morning, anyway?” Link asked.
“No one but Ingo...”
On the way, Malon told Link the story of how Ingo had taken over the ranch, and how her father had disappeared. Near the end of this tragic story, Link shouted, “Wait!!”
Startled, Malon jumped back. “What?” She asked, looking at him quizzically.
“I know the answer to your problem!” Link shouted. Malon covered her ears, signaling that he didn't need to shout. Link blushed, but continued on. “I know someone who can tell you where your father is! Follow me!” Link started jogging towards the market, and Malon followed suit.
Link knew who knew.
The Great Fairy.

*                                                *                                                 *

They tore through Hyrule Field. They tore through the market, bypassing the wine stand without a glance in that direction. They finally arrived at the gate to Hyrule Castle. “What are we doing here, Link?” Malon asked.
“You'll see,” Link replied. “Trust me.” And she did. Implicitly.
“I know a way to get past the gate,” Link explained. “Follow me.” Link turned around and began walking. He turned to the left, where there were some vines. “We have to climb up,” he whispered. “I'll give you a lift.”
She put her foot on his hands, and he hoisted her up. Then, he climbed the vines. The plateau that they were on bypassed the gate completely! They would have to crawl, though, to stay out of the view of the guards. They crept along silently, careful not to disturb them.
The plateau had a drop-off, and the duo of Link and Malon jumped down. “We're home free,” Link whispered. “There aren't any guards where we're going.”
Malon saw a hole in the rock wall straight ahead. She pointed to it and asked, “Is that where we're going?” Link nodded. They crept closer and closer, until finally they were there.
There, at the bottom of the rock wall, was a hole that went into it. It was probably just big enough for them to crawl through. Malon sighed. “This had better be good,” she whispered. “This is my favorite dress.”
“Don't worry,” Link said, grinning. “It will be.” He motioned for Malon to crawl through the hole.
“Uh-uh,” she said. “You first.”
He crawled through the hole, and Malon followed behind. Link was the first to get through the short tunnel. “Yup,” he said, now standing up. “Just how I remember it.”
Malon made her way through the tunnel and instinctively stood up. To her surprise, she found herself in a room – and not just any room.
The walls were shimmering.
They both found themselves in a dome-shaped room with concrete floors and purple walls. Or black. They couldn't tell. The colors changed back and forth too fast. Straight ahead they could see a shallow pool of water, with ripples coming out of the center. But what really caught Malon's eye was what was above the pool. A woman.
Floating.
In midair.

Part 2: The Adventure

Chapter 4

“Ooh, Link! Greetings!” The lady said.
“Malon,” Link explained, “Meet the Great Fairy.”
“Oh!” The Great Fairy exclaimed. “And you brought your sweetheart, too!”
Both Link and Malon completely ignored that comment, and Link continued: “Ms. Fairy, we need a favor.”
Her smile drooped a bit, but she perked it back up. “Yes?”
“My father,” Malon said, taking over. “His name is Talon. He disappeared over a year ago. Can you tell me where he is, please?”
“Oh, of course I would, sweetie.”
“Would?”
Her smile drooped fully. “Yes, would. You see, as you might expect, not very many people venture in here. We fairies have a finite amount of magic, magic and have to use often to keep it from withering away. Well, mine has withered. There's only one way to get my magic back – and I can't get out of here. I'm too big for that little hole!
“So there's only two ways you can find your daddy, that Talon fellow. One, you can look for him yourself. Two, you can help me get my magic back, and I can just tell you.”
“Hmm,” Malon said. “What does it take to get your magic back?”
“Oh,” The Great Fairy replied. “It's just a matter of finding four different fairies from four different locations. If they give some magic to me, they'll have just enough to get home and replenish it. Do you have a map?”
Link knew just what she meant by this, stepped forward, and handed her the map. “She's going to mark my map,” Link said to Malon. “I think.”
“There,” The Great Fairy said, handing the map back. “I've just marked your map with the spots you must go. These are the Fairy Fountains.”
“Thank you,” Link and Malon said simultaneously. They turned to leave, but The Great Fairy interrupted them. “Wait,” she said. “You'll need a little something for the journey.” A green orb appeared in front of her. She threw it onto the flooor, and it shattered, but into the perfect gems they knew as Rupees, the currency of Hyrule.
Link and Malon gaped at the sight. Link had never seen so many rupees in one place, and Malon didn't know how they were supposed to use it all. “Um...uh....” they stammered.
“Oh, don't bother thanking me,” she said. “It's the least I can do.”
Link and Malon began to pick up the Rupees, and The Great Fairy continued. “That should be enough for a sword, shield, and bow for the young lady.”
“Wait,” Link said. “You kind of alluded to this being an easy thing to do. You mean it'll be dangerous?”
“Yes,” The Great Fairy admitted. “It'll be a little dangerous. You're the Hero of Time! Don't tell me you're scared!”
“No, I'm not scared, but I wouldn't want to put Malon in any danger.”
Malon scowled for the first time since Link had been with her. “What do you mean? I'm coming with you!”
“Malon, you can't,” Link replied. “I've got to do this for you. I owe it to you for not seeing you in so long! Besides, I can't let you get hurt!”
Malon suddenly strafed around Link, drew his sword, and started cleaving away at the air. She wasn't amazing, but Link knew then that she would be okay on a journey. “I can defend myself,” She said to emphasize her point.
“All right,” Link said, holding up his hands. “How about Ingo? What're we going to do about him?”
“Ms. Fairy?” Malon asked. “If we give you your magic, can you also wipe the ranch hand's mind? He'll punish us if we don't come back in a few hours.”
“Of course, sweetie.”
Malon turned around and raised her eyebrows in an 'I told you so' look. Link frowned and said, “Fine. You can come.”
“All right,” said Malon. “I'm happy.”
“Now, can I please have my sword back?”
Malon giggled and handed the sword back to Link. He put it back in its sheath, where it belonged.
“All right, I think you're ready to go,” The Great Fairy said. “Happy traveling!”
“Wait,” said Malon. “Swear on the Triforce that you'll keep your promise.”
Link whistled. She was one clever girl. “All right,” The Great Fairy said. “I swear on the Triforce that I will find your father if you find my magic.”
“Now it's time to go,” Malon concluded, smiling. “Ready, Link?”
“You bet,” he replied. “Bye, Ms. Fairy. Thanks!”
“No problem,” said The Great Fairy. “Good luck!”
Link entered the tunnel again with Malon right behind him. He crawled by shuffling his elbows, while Malon went on hands and knees. Link exited the tunnel and stood up. “Halt,” said two voices on either side of him.
Link looked around in alarm just as Malon exited the tunnel, and was surprised to see what he saw.
Guards.

Chapter Five

“Well, I guess this is practice for being in danger,” Link said to Malon as she stood up.
The taller guard wondered what on earth he meant by this, but was trained to ask only the standard questions, two of which he was about to ask. “Who are you and why are you here?” he asked.
“Um...” Link was at a loss for words. He had been through here dozens of times, when the situation required it, and the guards had never caught him before! “We were...um...”
“Never mind that,” the shorter guard said. “We'll take you to the king, and he'll decide what to do with you.”
The taller guard whispered in his colleague's ear. “No problem,” the shorter guard said aloud. “We'll just take them to the princess. She's done this dozens of times.”
“No, we can't,” said Tall Guard. “She's busy!”
“Whaddaya mean she's busy?” Short Guard asked. “She's a princess! She's got plenty 'a free time! What's she doin' that's so important, huh?”
“She put a sign on her door that said, 'Busy. Keep out.' That's reason 'nuff!”
“Be quiet! Of course we can take 'em to her! She's put a sign on her door plenty 'a times!”
“No, she hasn't!” Tall Guard said, indignant.
“Yes. She. HAS!” Short Guard bellowed.
“Not a 'Keep Out' sign, though!”
“WE'RE BRINGING THE PRISONERS TO THE PRINCESS!” Short Guard screamed. “Wait a sec'nd. Where'd they go?”
Link and Malon, in the middle of the guard's bickering, had crept back onto the plateau and left in a hurry. Link had been smiling the whole time. That type of intellect was why he had never been caught. Since all he had ever been seen doing was passing the gate, he wasn't even considered an outlaw.
“That was close,” Malon said. “But it would've been much easier with a sword.”
“I suppose, but we shouldn't hurt our allies.”
“All right, Hero,” Malon said, smiling. She thought Link looked cute when he was making a point. He waved his hands around a lot, and his blonde hair bounced. “Either way, I need a sword and shield. Badly.”
“All right. Come on.” Link motioned to the market, and they were off. They ran towards the market and arrived there quickly. They bypasseed the wine stand again, which was having a sale on Chateau Romani. Link searched and searched, until he finally found Mogar's Bazaar. Link motioned for Malon to enter. She went in and saw a large, hairy man standing behind a counter. He was not wearing a shirt, but instead an ill-fitting vest.
“What can I do for ya, Link?” he asked. “New sword? Shield? Bombs? I've got 'em all, you know.”
“I need a sword, Mogar,” Link said. “Do you have anything...well, what sword do you prefer, Malon?”
“I think I'd be best suited with something long and thin.”
“You heard her,” Link said. “Do you have any?”
“Of course!” Mogar said enthusiastically. “Let's see...” He went to the back room. Lin, with his keen hearing, could hear some banging and rattling sounds as Mogar rummaged through his wares. Finally he returned. “Would this do?”
He had come out with what, at first glance, looked like your common run-of-the-mill sword, but it was beautiful in its simplicity. Its hilt was a gleaming silver, as was the blade, and it spun around on itself in a spiral. Malon held the sword reverently, but still poised to strike. She gave it a few slices and cleaves at the air and finally said, “It's perfect. Well balanced, beautiful appearance, and it just seems right. How much?”
“Oh, she's a beauty, that one,” Mogar said, winking at Link. “The sword, though, will be about...eighty Rupees. That sound fair?”
“It's fair enough,” Link said. “We'll take it.”
“One thing I gotta know,” Mogar inquired. “What's her name?”
“Uppercut,” Malon said, referring to the sword.
“Malon,” Link said simultaneously, referring to his companion.
“All right, need anything else?” Mogar asked, smiling.
“How about a shield?” Link asked. “One that'd go with Uppercut?”
Mogar smiled and said, “I've got just the one.”
Mogar went into the back room again and was much quicker this time. He returned carrying a silver shield. It was so shiny and so polished that Malon could see herself in it. It's width was that of a sliver, but Malon still had to ask, “It's so thin, does it really work?”
“Oh, yes,” Mogar said. “I've even used it myself on a few occasions. They say that it was enchanted by a sorceress so that it would always stay with its owner, never break, and always stay perfectly clean. It works wonderfully!”
“We'll take that one too,” Malon said. “Definitely. How much?”
“She's a real beauty too. One hundred rupees for the shield. Yer total comes out ta one eighty.”
Link plunked an orange Rupee down on the counter and said, smiling, “Keep the change.”

Chapter Six

“Let's take a look at the map,” Link said, walking out of the store. “Which should we go to first? They're pretty much the same distance from here.”
Without even paying attention to where the marks were exactly, Malon said, pointing to a mark, “That one is closer, and if we follow the path here, we'll end up at all the other fairy fountains too.”
“Wow,” Link said. “How did you do that?”
“I don't know,” Malon said. “My father taught me how to read maps, but I've had a knack for them since then.”
“Did you learn swordfighting from Talon too?” Link inquired.
“Mmm hmm. 'Lon Lon Defense Academy,' he called it.”
Link noticed how melancholy Malon was and assured, “If we find him, you can show him how good you've become.”
“When we find him, you mean,” Malon corrected. “We will find him.”
“Right.”
There was silence for a few seconds, but Link then broke it. “Shall we go?” he asked.
“I'm ready if you are,” Malon replied. “Let's go!”
The first fairy fountain was at the peak of Death Mountain. Malon had already told Link where he was to go. They would walk through Hyrule Field to Kakariko Village, then up the Death Mountain Trail. Unfor-tunately, to get to the peak, they would have to go off the trail part of the way and climb up the rest of the mountain. There was one convenient rest stop that jutted out from the rock, but other than that, they would have to climb, climb, climb.
They ran through Hyrule Field, but slowed to a walk when they got to Kakariko Village. It was nearly lunchtime, and they were extremely hungry. “All right, Link,” Malon said. “This is far enough. We've got to find some food here.”
“Absolutely,” Link agreed. He spied a woman standing outside her house, and rushed over to her. “Excuse me, ma'am?” he asked. “Do you know where we could find some food? We're famished.”
“Yes,” she answered. “There's a restaurant over that way.” She pointed to her left, towards a one-floor building that was little larger than the rest of the town's houses. “By the way,” the woman added, “Have you seen a castle guard, about five feet tall, with brown eyes and a moustache? He's my husband, and he's supposed to be home by now.”
Link gulped. That was the exact description of the short guard at the castle. “Yes,” he admitted. “I saw him about thirty minutes ago. He was standing there like the rest of the guards. He was...well...guarding.”
“Hmm,” the woman said. “All right, thank you. And good luck!”
“Thank you!” the duo said as they began jogging towards the restaurant. They entered it and looked around. There was a woman behind a counter who looked ready to fall asleep. There were two tables, and a couple of chairs at each, all deserted.
“Excuse me, ma'am?” Link asked. “Me and my friend here are looking for some food. May we see the menu?”
Link and Malon almost thought they were being ignored, until the lady reached under the counter and handed them a piece of paper. Link held it, and Malon peered over his shoulder. “Wow,” she said. “It all looks delicious!”
“Yeah, it does,” Link agreed. “Ma'am? We'll take one Thyledia Platter for two. To-go, please.”
The woman went into the back room and returned seconds later with a bag in her hand. “Why to-go, Link?” Malon asked. “I'm famished!”
“Remember the shorter guard at the castle?” Link explained. “The woman outside gave us a description of him.”
“Oh, I see,” Malon said. “We have to get out of here before he's back.”
“Mmm hmm,” Link replied. “Oh, thank you, ma'am,” he said to the lady, who had thrust the bag into his hands. “Let's get out of here, Malon,” he whispered.
Malon and Link rocketed out the door and through the village, all the way to the gate of Death Mountain. There was a guard there, but they explained their intentions (but only that they were challenging them-selves to get to the top), and the guard waved them through.
“Time to eat,” Link said once they had gone a few yards. He unwrapped the bag of Thyledia, which was a delicacy in Hyrule. It contained a deviled egg wrapped in a floury dough, which was, in turn, wrapped in cheese. It was sold in nearly every restaurant in Hyrule.
“Here, Malon,” Link said. “You can borrow my bow for now. You'll need it more than I do.”
The thought of taking offense fleetingly crossed Malon's mind, but it had no effect. Malon knew that she and Link would have to be a team to do this. “Thanks,” she replied instead. “Although I hope I don't need it.”
“So do I,” Link agreed.
They ate their lunch in surprising peace. Link was the first to finish, and stood up, dusting his tunic off. Malon finished quickly afterward, ready to scale the mountain. “Well, the first part is easy,” Link said. “We can just follow the path for the first half of the mountain.”
“And the second part?”
“We'll have to go straight up.”
“Oh, good,” Malon said sarcastically. “And in a dress, too.”
“Well, we can get started on the first part now,” Link replied, and he started walking. Malon followed along, but she was not exactly enthusiastic about it.

Hello to all. As some of you no doubt no I currently have another fanfic going that is a sequel both to TP and MM. However I have decided to start another one that takes place in a new more interesting era. I am talking about the future! This tale will be set several centuries after any previous games(I'm not quite sure what timeline it will be in yet).

Warning: The prologue might be slightly graphic for some of you. Just thought I'd add this as a disclaimer. And now without further fanfare:

Prologue: Infusion

Nestled on the foothills of a mountain range was a large metal structure. Within the structure existed a complex research facility. At this very moment one of the rooms was filled with a large amount of activity. Men clad in black lab coats rushed around the room operating various machines. On an operating table in the room was a small child crying.

"Well, are we ready?" asked one of the men.

"Let's begin," replied another.

The man walked over to a control panel and started a machine that was hanging above the child. As several of the men monitored the machine and the child's vitals a few more men began to work the machine. The child cried out as it was hit with a bolt of energy while two men worked frantically to inject several vials of liquid into him as fast as possible.

One of the men watching the monitors that showed the child's heart rate swore and shouted, "Heart rate rising!"

"Administer a suppressant we're almost finished!" ordered another man as he grabbed another hypodermic needle.

"It's no good the child can't take this! We have to stop the operation!"

"If we stop now the child won't survive anyway! Just administer the suppressant and keep working!"

"Brain function flucuating!" shouted a third man. "Dropping we're losing him we're..."

He was cut off by a loud beeping sound as the child's heart stopped. The men looked at each other before the leader walked out of the room in disgust.

"It seems you've failed again," taunted a man that had been watching the whole thing from outside the room.

"Leave me alone!"

"Oh but the chairman is going to be very interested when he hears about this. What's that the third in the past two weeks?"

"Enough!" cried the man in exasperation.

"Look I'm just pointing out at this rate you won't have any funding at all."

"I'm well aware of that!"

"Has anyone under the age of seven even survived this operation?"

The man stopped walking and turned to him, "There was one," he whispered.

"Take me to him."

--------------------------------

They walked through a large prison like room. On either side of the hallway were cells holding horribly mutated human creatures. Some of them didn't even look human anymore. At last they came to a door at the end of the hall that was sealed shut with three large metal locks. The man peered inside through a small hole and glimpsed a young boy no older than seven with short blond hair and light blue eyes sitting inside. He looked up and stared at the man with cold hate filled eyes.

"So this boy survived?"

"Yes of the five initial subjects he alone survived. What you're looking at is project L."

"L?"

"Link."

Lenin waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were bourgeois in the Russia. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Motherland were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
Lenin was a revolutionary for many years. When he was young he watched the oppression and he said to dad "I want to be leader of revolution daddy."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY TSAR"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the city of Leningrad of the USSR he knew there were reactionary bourgeois.
"This is Trotsky" the radio crackered. "You must fight the Bourgeois!"
So Lenin gotted his "What is to be Done" and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO OVERTHROW US" said the bourgeois
"I will shoot at him" said the Kerenskydemon and he fired the white army. Lenin overthrew him and tried to reform Russia. But then the assassin shot and he stroked and they were paralyzed and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the bourgeois oppressors!" he mumbled and drooled.
The radio said "No, Lenin. You are the oppressor!"
And then Russia was a oligarchy.

story is below sir calibur's post.

hey guys, i recently started a story consisting of the Wind Waker world. it's about three guys: Chester, Gavin, and Kore.
(considering this is Zelda Universe, i dont know why they still say Hyrule is spelled wrong XD):)

Chapter 1
LOL in the lunchroom

The loud voices and the clattering of silverware echoed throughout the almost empty cafeteria at Ridgefield High School during the third lunch period. Due to the large room and lack of occupants, one sitting in a corner could hear conversation of a group at the other side. Three sophomores sat in this corner; all three had delved into a conversation about the randomness of one another.

Chester a short yet smart kid, cursed with red hair and pale skin was one of these three. He often called himself the “White Plague” because of his ability to pop out of nowhere and annoy people. Chester was seated at the lunch table across from Gavin and Kore. Gavin was a taller black haired kid who was renowned throughout the school for his wit, sarcasm, and ability to annoy teachers with his randomness. He had awarded himself a large bruise on his forehead for smashing his own head on a desk due to boredom earlier that morning. Gavin was seated next to Kore, who was leaning on the wall toying idly with the end of his t shirt. Kore was somewhat feared among the freshmen because of his fearsome outward appearance, but on the inside, he was as random as either Chester or Gavin. He had given a 9th grader on the stairs a jab to the chest because he was annoying him. Kore had short blonde hair and always wore some form of a t shirt, no matter what the weather.

“Bob Saget!” Gavin yelled while flicking the hair out of his eyes.

“what’d you do now?” Kore asked, leaning away from Gavin.

“I dropped my corn in mah milk!” Gavin exclaimed while trying to fish out the corn from his drink with a spoon.

Kore sighed, and Chester said, “Oh yeah, well I dropped my hot dog in my tea!” He quickly upended his hot dog bun so the wiener fell out, grabbed it and shoved it in his tea bottle. Due to the wiener’s size, half of it protruded from the top of the bottle.

“Funny,” Kore remarked, “Betcha can’t fit two in there.”

“That’s what she said!” Chester proclaimed.

Gavin laughed and said, “Hey Chester, I’ll give you ten bucks if you walk over the other table.”

Kore snickered and said “I’d do that for free.”

“Show me the money first!” Chester said.

Gavin pulled two five dollar bills from his pocket and waved them in front of him. Chester proceeded to rise from his seat and march across the cafeteria. When he got within five feet of the other table, he broke into a sprint and vaulted over one of the boys’ heads’ and landed on the table.

Many loud remarks were heard from the other table as Chester blurted out his “Askooz me!”’s and “Comin’ through!”’s. Kore and Gavin were now pounding their own table top in fits of laughter, tears streaming down their faces.

They heard one of the kids yell “what the hell are you doing?!”, others were yelling about their food. Chester jumped off the table, thanked them for their time, and waltzed back over to his own seat.

Gavin tossed the two fives across the table but missed Chester due to the fact that he and Kore were still cracking up.

“Aw God that was good,” Kore remarked, “I love how you thanked ‘em too.” Chester nodded in agreement, still unable to speak, his hoots of laughter still echoing throughout the cafeteria.

“Aw,” Chester said, “I cant get the wiener out of my tea now!” He followed this statement by holding the protruding wiener with his thumb and fore finger, shaking it rapidly. The middle of the wiener was stuck in the bottle still, so the remaining tea was sloshing around as he shook it.

“Here,” Kore offered, “you hold the bottle and I’ll pull the wiener out.”

“Hold on!” Gavin said excitedly, “let me record this on mah phone!”

Gavin rummaged around in his cargo pants pockets, pulled out his phone which he proceeded to flip open. A beep was heard as Gavin began recording.

Kore and Chester immediately began pulling at their designated ends. Reaching across the table, both boys pulled the wiener and bottle at forces which made the three think, why hasn’t it broken yet? The wiener came free with a loud “Ploob!” Kore flew backwards, the hot dog in his hand, hitting the wall behind him. Chester was also thrown back by the sudden divorce of the wiener from his tea bottle. He flew backward off his chair, the remaining tea propelling from his beverage bottle.

Kore and Gavin started laughing at the hilarity of the event, pointing at the tea drenched table, and became even more entertained when they saw Chester, who was lying flat on his back covered in tea.

“Oh no!” Chester cried, peering down his now empty bottle, “now I don’t have anything to drink!”

This remark fueled the laughter of all three, who began pounding the table in fits of laughter, Chester hitting the floor next to him. Kore began gasping for breath, Gavin thumped him on the back, all the occupants of the table still laughing. Gavin clicked a button on his phone and put it away.

“Dude, I just gave you ten bucks! Go get another tea! And maybe another wiener.” Gavin said, wiping his eyes.

“He can get another tea, but we don’t have time for another hot dog,” Kore wheezed, “It’s twelve twenty four; we gotta leave in a minute.”

“Gah!” Gavin exclaimed, “Must have tea!”

And with that comment, he stood up and sprinted toward a vending machine. He failed to stop however, colliding with the machine. He stood up quickly and fed one of the fives into the machine, selecting teas of different types. He walked back to the table, holding five different types of tea in his arms.

“How much tea does one man need?” Kore asked.

“hey, he gave me a five and the thing wouldn’t give me change, so I got five teas. They were only a buck each.” Chester explained, stuffing all five bottles of tea into his backpack. However, as in the same situation as the wiener, all five tea bottle tops peered out of the top of his pack.

The bell rang and all three boys picked up their bags to head off to their next period. However, they were stopped by the principal.

“I’ve heard you three are creating something of a disruption down here. Is that true?” the principal asked menacingly.

“Nope.” Chester said proudly.

“and I’m guessing that tea didn’t spill itself huh?” he responded.

“well, ya see, it’s a long story it involved-“ Chester was cut off.

“all three of you are expected in detention this afternoon. Have a nice day.” And with that, the principal walked off.

All three boys stood in silence for a minute or two, pondering what had just happened. Kore broke the silence.

“well, it was fun while it lasted,” Kore said, “you guys should walk home with me this afternoon, I made two new fencing swords. Now we can all duel!”

Gavin and Chester both cheered, raised their arms above their heads, and agreed they would walk back to Kore’s after detention. A minute or so after, each boy said see ya to one another and walked off towards their afternoon classes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 2: the weirdest thing happened today…

Fifteen minutes after the school bell rang to announce the ending of classes, detention began. It consisted of doing nothing for an hour while being completely and utterly quiet. Three unhappy sophomores entered this room at the far end of their high school thinking daggers and thoughts of hatred against the principal, along with the occasional thought about tea and other objects.

Chester’s backpack now had four empty tea bottles in it, along with a mostly full green tea he had gotten from the vending machine at lunch. Gavin carried his hip-side sling pack on his right hip and was carrying his sweater. He walked into the room and flicked the hair out of his eyes. Kore entered the detention room last carrying nothing except for a pen, which he intended to chew on assuming he stayed awake. As they entered, they each took their seats designated to them by the supervisor of today’s attention.

Unfortunately, Gavin thought to himself, they were thinking when they planned these seats. They put Chester by the teacher’s desk, me by the corner, and Kore by the door. Heh heh. Kore, door, I rhymed. This is gonna be really boring!

Kore sat his head down on the desk and closed his eyes. Might as well get comfy, he thought, I’ll be here a while. He chuckled. Chester’s already asleep!

Chester, who was already fast asleep, drooling on the desk, had been extremely bored and tired in the last class due to a lecture on dinosaurs of all things. Yet, incredibly, the only things that went through his head as he slept were hot dogs and tea bottles. No dinosaurs. The two remaining conscious boys considered themselves lucky because there were no other students in the detention room and the supervisor, who was partially deaf, had begun playing internet games undoubtedly for the entire hour.

Gavin quietly took out his drawing and composition notebook out of his sling bag and began to doodle. A series of innocent characters slowly evolved into sword bearing heroes. He had often dreamed of being the one with the sword braving the dungeons to save the world. He had given up on this dream as he lost his imagination, this was because he had needed to focus more on school and had to give up his two hour drawing sessions.

The minutes flew by as he drew, Kore slept, and Chester drooled and slept. All three boys jerked their heads up as a timer, signaling the end of their confinement, rang. Kore stretched and got out of his seat while Gavin slid his notebook back into his bag and slung it around his shoulder. Chester realized that he had been drooling and hastily tried to wipe it up with the sleeve of the hoodie he was wearing. As he finished, the desk now with a slick and shiny look, he wiped the rest of the saliva off of his cheek with his other sleeve.

“I don’t want to see you three in here again okay?” the Supervisor said.

“let’s hope,” Chester muttered, and began walking for the door. Kore and Gavin followed him as he opened it and walked out into the hall. Kore broke the silence in the emptiness of the hallway.

“You guys still comin’ over? It’s Friday!” Kore asked, a hint of hope in his voice.

“Yep,” Chester said, shaking his sleeves trying to dry them off, “we still dueling?”

“Hopefully,” Gavin also said, “’Cus I’m coming too!”

“Kewl,” Kore said happily, making the colon three face in the process (:3)

“That’s nothin’. I can do the awesome face!” Chester proclaimed, looking up at the ceiling, making his happy face.
All three guys laughed, making texting faces all the way back to Kore’s house they had all agreed that Gavin’s carat underscore carat face was the funniest. When they arrived at Kore’s home, he opened the door, told Chester and Gavin to drop their stuff on the stairs, and called to his mother that they’d be out back. Due to the fact that Kore’s family lived in front of a forest, they owned about two acres of land.

Chester jumped over the fence to the backyard catching his pants on the tips in the process. He fell face flat on the ground and stared at Gavin and Kore as they laughed and walked through the gate. He muttered something about knowing that and stood up to brush his jeans off.

Kore walked over to a shed which he opened and pulled out three wooden long swords. He turned around to see Chester sitting in the grass pulling out clumps of it and Gavin climbing a tree. “Guys! Swords!” He yelled, shaking one of the wooden swords in the air, tossing the other two on the ground.

Gavin leaped down from his tree, Chester stood up from his grass-pulling session and both ran over to Kore, who was now twirling his sword in circles. As they picked up their sparring weapons, Kore explained the safety rules.

“these edges are dull, so the chances of dismembering someone are rather low. Even though the points are dull, you can still get impaled if one thrusts hard enough, so I’d avoid thrusting.” Kore explained.

“Lol,” Chester said, “Cock joke”

“Unless anyone else has an insightful comment, let’s begin.” Kore said and immediately rapped Chester on the shin, who fell over dazed.

After an hour or so of tireless, yet entertaining dueling between the three, they got tired. So they set down their swords and sat down on the cool grass. Kore walked inside to get them some water while Gavin began talking to Chester.

“That’s always fun,” He said.

“I think I cracked his sword though,” Chester noted, “’Cus your head’s so hard”

“Ha Ha. Funny,” Gavin replied unenthusiastically, “There’s gonna be a huge-ass bruise there in an hour or so.” He reached his hand up to the back of his head, which Chester had thwacked.

“Oh hey, Kore’s back. With water!” Chester exclaimed. Both boys stood up to receive their water from Kore who was carrying all three cups in one hand.

“it’s tap water,” Kore told them.

“Yum yum,” Chester said, “I love my minerals!”

“Chester, it’s tap water. It probably only has fluoride in it.” Gavin told him.

“That’s a mineral isn’t it?” Chester shot back, taking entire mouthfuls of water from his cup.

Gavin was scanning Kore’s backyard while drinking and noticed something out of the ordinary. He raised his eyebrow and walked over to a section of the grass that looked almost like a ditch.

“Hey Kore!” He called, “Do you have a sinkhole over here?”

Kore set his cup down on the ground and walked over to the spot where Gavin was standing, Chester followed him.

“That’s weird,” Kore said, kicking dirt into the hole, “That wasn’t here yesterday.”

Chester jumped into the foot deep ditch and began to jump up and down.

“Are you retarded?! You’ll probably collapse it and fall into a cave or something!” Kore exclaimed angrily.

“But it’s fun!” Chester protested.

“Out.” Kore demanded.

“Doh.” Chester said and began to step out of the ditch. His left foot caught on a root near the rim and fell flat on his face again. Gavin’s hair fell back down over his eyes as he laughed.

As Chester stood up and brushed the dirt out of his clothes and red hair, a loud crunching noise was heard.

“What’d you do?!” Kore yelled, over the earsplitting crunching coming from the ditch.

As they watched, staring incredulously as the dirt from the ditch fell down what appeared to be a few feet. Light now illuminated the hole and smelled strangely of salt water.

“Kewl. I’m going in,” Chester said.

“You’re insane. We don’t even know where it goes to.” Gavin told him.

“Gavin’s right,” Kore said, “You ARE insane.”

“Well, I’m going whether you two like it or not.” Chester proclaimed as he retrieved his wooden long sword from the ground. “You guys know I can swing a sword. C’mon, it’ll be fun!”

“Let me stick my head down there. I’ll see what we’re facing.” Gavin said. He knelt down and almost went into a headstand as he slipped into the hole. Kore and Chester were fast enough to grab his legs before he could completely fall through. His hair was now hanging below his head, swaying back and forth in the apparent breeze.

“What do you see?” Kore asked.

“Guys, you’re not gonna believe this but…” Gavin trailed off.

“But what?” Chester asked impatiently.

They pulled Gavin back up and he told them what he’d seen.

“Outset Island.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 3-That’s a Game Isnt it?

Kore and Chester stood in disbelief at what Gavin had just said.

“Outset Island.” Gain repeated.

“you have to be ♥♥♥♥ting me,” Kore said in utter disbelief, “That’s from Wind Waker. I don’t have Hyrule buried in my backyard!”

“Yeah,” Chester said, “what Kore said.”

“I'm serious. That’s what I saw. From the ocean to the cartoon atmosphere!” Gabin told them, now sitting on the ground next to their newfound ditch to wonderland.

Kore scratched his head, thinking in intense thought, then said, “I tend to believe you mainly because you don’t lie often and you wouldn’t ♥♥♥♥ around with something this serious.” He explained, “But…now I wanna go.” Both Kore and Gavin turned to Chester and asked in unison:

“Do you wanna come?”

“number 1. This is probably going to be the only time in my life that I find a portal that leads to a game world. so I’m gonna have to say OF COURSE!” Chester replied enthusiastically. He began to walk towards the hole, but Kore barred his way.

“Provisions. We need provisions and weapons. We don’t know how long we’re going to be gone for, so we need supplies. We also need guns because I don’t wanna get into a melee fight with a moblin.” Kore told Gavin and Chester, “Assuming I haven’t forgotten the combination, we can have some hunting weapons too.”

“Woot!” Gavin yelled, “Chester and I will take a hike over to the grocery store and get some food and drinks.”

“Yeah, I think I have some money,” Chester said, rooting through his numerous pockets, “you just get our guns mister hunter.” Gavin and Chester both exited from the gate as Kore walked inside his house.

Fifteen minutes later, the two food foragers returned to Kore’s backyard where they saw him sitting in the grass, sorting through what they assumed were packs of ammo. He took the pile of clips and placed them in one duffel bag, while placing the shotgun shells in the other. He was wearing a crossbow slung across his back.

“Hey Kore! We got some subs and a few Gatorades. There’s an extra quarter, you want?” Chester said, setting down the food and flipping his spare quarter in the air.

“No. we have no use for money at this point in time. I have the guns.” Kore told them, while indicating the two bags with his hand, “that one is a .22 rifle and the other one is a shotgun. I forgot what gauge. I also brought three gas masks. Ya never know, we could be stuck in…gas.”

Chester picked up the bag containing the .22 and unzipped it to take the rifle out. He pulled back the lever to see if there was anything inside and a live bullet jumped out. He eyed Kore suspiciously.

“You tryin’ to kill me?” he asked.

“Sorry, I forgot about that. I haven’t used it in a while. Gavin, you might wanna check your shotgun.” Kore said, indicating the other bag which Gavin picked up and opened.

As he pulled the shotgun out, he pumped it and pulled the trigger. Nothing happened. “nope, nothing in here.” He said.

All three walked over to the hole, which was now emitting the humidity and light level of a morning. Kore indicated to Gavin and Chester to put on the gas masks. Chester and Gavin shared smirks and Chester piped up.

“It’s morning down there!” Gavin protested, “There’s no gas so to speak of!”

“Yeah, I know” Kore replied, “But think of the appearance we’ll make.”

Chester rolled his eyes and slid the gas mask over his face. He raised his hand and said, “I’ll go first, if it really is Outset, then there’s nothin’ to fear.” And with that, he did a hop-skip and jumped in, duffel bag bouncing across his back.

A loud thud was heard inside the hole as Chester landed. They heard Chester’s loud remark over a string of curse words.

“You okay?” Gavin called down.

No response.

“Chester!” Kore called.

Still no response.

“Gun out.” Kore told Gavin, who nodded in agreement through his gas mask.

Kore unslung the crossbow from around his back while Gavin undid the zipper on his bag. He hastily held the shotgun in one hand and loaded a few shells into it with his other hand. He pumped it and nodded to Kore.

“Jump at the same time, okay?” Gavin asked to which Kore nodded in agreement.

“1…2…3, Jump!” Kore yelled and dove into the hole, right beside Gavin, weapons at the ready.

They landed with a dull thud on a wooden surface which they assumed to be a ship. No living thing was seen on the deck that they could see. Their hearts pounding as they stood, back to back, weapons raised as they slowly walked around the deck.

“Chester! Chester! Chester!” They called out in unison, but only being responded by the waves hitting the side of the ship and surfacing on the beach of Outset. A voice called out to them:

“We have your friend, but first you gotta explain what you three…things are doing Trespassing on the Great Tetra’s ship!”

I actually have everything formatted and up on FanFiction.Net, so I fear I will not actually be posting the story here, as it would requiring a lot of format adjusting on my part, which I'm too lazy to do.
The basic summary: After ages of medieval rule, the continent has finally moved onto modern times. Modern technology, including electric power, planes, the internet, are all but an everyday part of life. The continent, in the meantime, is divided into three major superpowers: The Kingdom of Hyrule, a democratic monarchy, the Gerudo Union, an alliance of states, and the Kingdom of Valent, which went completely isolationist after the Valentine Revolution seventeen years ago. In this three-way zero-sum game amongst three superpowers, Crown Princess Zelda, the effective sovereign of the Kingdom of Hyrule, correctly predicts that the peace the continent enjoys cannot last, yet finds hope in the strangest of people, the Hylian Joint Intelligence Agent Link.

Technically alternate-universe, but linked to actual Zelda canon in a way I'm not quite willing to reveal yet.

The Prologue and Chapter One are currently up.

Please read and enjoy, and, if it isn't too much of a bother, please review and comment both in this thread and on FanFiction.Net; authors need their egos stroke every now and then. ^_^;

Here's the story:

Battle for the Triforce

Prologue

“So, do you want to become partners or what?” asked a black and grey wolf sitting in front of a man that was sitting on a throne. The wolf had red-orange fur growing in a similarity to a mane around his head. The man replied, “Sure. We are both one of two parallel selves. Why not join the pieces of the triforces of power into one like it was back so long ago before the time dimension split?”

“But Ganondorf, I have figured out that we do not have the full piece of the triforce of power even if we did combine them. The last piece is somewhere throughout the sea of my dimension. I can only pick up some information that it is protected by two individuals. Both are seeking for the other bearer of the triforce that is said to be the…rightful bearer of it. I say we must exterminate both of them. One is in your dimension that I’m sure you’ve heard of. The other I’m still trying to find. I’ll try to find the one in my dimension while you find the princess of twilight here.”

“I agree, Ganondorf. If we are going to revive the all-powerful one, we must get all the pieces of power to resurrect part of him. Farewell.”

He turned into an identical wolf that was similar to the other but was a bit more muscular than the other. They disappeared into smoke.

Stranger

A black wolf ran through the streets of Windfall Island and finally hid behind a tree as a crowd of people ran by. She walked out of her hiding spot and trotted off until she reached a tunnel that was covered by moss and bushes to keep it hidden. The wolf crawled through it and started to eat her food. She also had a white-tipped tail and her paws had white fur that reached up to the middle of her legs where the mid-joints was at. When she was half-finished, a commotion was starting up. Indistinct yells and grunts were coming from outside. The wolf cautiously walked out of the den and saw two men were fighting. One had a sword while the other had two exotic-looking swords. The other man was wearing a cloak and stood a foot taller than the more beaten-up sailor. One of them said, “Give up the triforce piece and maybe I’ll let you live.”

The other replied, “Not until I find the one to stop you, Ganondorf.”

“Fine. It’s your funeral.”

He lunged forward and sliced his handkerchief off and a triforce piece fell out. Ganondorf reached down to try to grab it and his opponent stabbed him in the back but it had no effect. Ganon laughed and said, “Heh heh heh heh… Is that the best you got, Linebeck?!”
He knocked Linebeck onto his back and his sword fell out of his hand. Ganondorf raised his sword and Linebeck rolled out of the way. He grabbed the triforce piece and his handkerchief and ran off. Ganondorf pursued him with great speed and stamina. A few minutes later a scream was heard and the wolf ran towards the sound. She stopped when she saw the cloaked man standing on a cliff and he muttered, “That idiot. Now it’s going to take me forever to find the triforce piece. It can be anywhere in the ocean by now with him swimming off with it. I must tell this to the other Ganondorf.”

Ganondorf disappeared in a cloud of smoke and the wolf ran to the area of blood he was standing on. She sniffed the ground and then sniffed the air, the blood is faint but is close by from where she was standing. Then, a grunt was heard and she walked down the slope and into the cove below the cliff. She quietly walked into the cove and found Linebeck barely crawling onto shore. His left eye was covered with blood and there was a gash on both his back and his chest. He placed the triforce piece to his side; which was wrapped around in the handkerchief, partially exposed. Linebeck sighed with relief and took quick notice of the wolf. He said, “Get away from here, mutt. Go on, beat it.”

The wolf whined and Linebeck said, “Don’t worry about me. Just go back to your family and leave me alone.”

The wolf whined something in reply and then barked. Then, a familiar voice said, “I had a feeling you were here, Linebeck.”

Linebeck raised his head slightly and the wolf turned to find that Ganondorf was standing behind them with his hood down this time. He said, “Come on, even a worthless chu would have figured that out.” Linebeck tried to get up but winced from the pain. Ganondorf laughed and said, “Since you’re too weak to fight, I might as well take the triforce from you then.”
“Try me.” Linebeck grabbed the triforce piece and stood up. Suddenly, he fell onto one knee and Ganondorf laughed and said, “This is going to be too easy.” When he tried to take another step, the wolf stood in between them and growled. The marking on Ganondorf’s hand started to glow and he said, “Well, well, well. I guess that you’re the threat to my plan.”
He knocked the wolf off her feet but she got back up and tackled him; even knocking him to the ground. She did a flip in the air and landed by grabbing a hold of his neck. Ganondorf immediately disappeared to prevent any more damage and the wolf looked at Linebeck. He asked, “So…you’re the chosen…one? Out of all the places me and Midna…looked…” He collapsed and the wolf ran over to him and he said, “Here…Take this…It’s the key to defeating...Ganondorf and…the others...Please, get the heck out of here…before they…find…you…”

Linebeck finally fell unconscious and the wolf ran off for a moment and came back with a jar full of blue potion. She grabbed Linebeck and set his back against the wall and poured some of the potion into his mouth and he drank it. He noticed the bottle and drank the rest of the potion. Linebeck turned into a wolf and the wolf jumped. She yelped in fright and Linebeck said, “It’s okay. It’s not like you gave me poison. Thanks for doing that. I thought I was dead for a moment.” He grabbed his handkerchief and wrapped it around his neck. He then asked, “What’s your name, kid?”

The wolf replied, “Luna. What’s this golden piece right here?”

Linebeck answered, “That’s the triforce of power piece, part of the legendary triforce itself. It has been missing for a long time and I happened to come across it in the pond of Ice Ring Isle. Me and a friend of mine, Midna have been looking for you. Have you heard of what’s been happening around here?”

Luna shook her head and he continued, “I’ll let Midna explain it. She’s better at this kind of stuff. Follow me to my—Ouch! ...boat.”

When he tried to walk off, he almost collapsed and Luna asked, “Are you all right?”

“Yeah. I guess I’m still pretty…weak.” He tried to act cool by walking off without limping and had hit his head against the wall. Linebeck added, “…and half-blind.”
He tried to wipe the blood off his eye but it kept rushing out. Luna suggested, “Maybe you should rest for awhile. You’re too weak to move on. Let’s stay here for awhile until your wounds get better.”

“Fine. But first, let me grab something to eat.” He walked off without bumping into the wall again and Luna pressed her paw against the triforce piece and it was absorbed into her right paw. She ran off to catch up to Linebeck and he almost tripped but quickly regains balance.

Linebeck asked, “Is it okay for me to stay at your place? I don’t think that a ship inspector might walk into my ship to see a severely wounded man or wolf in there.”

“Sure. I don’t go in there much but you can go ahead since it is a little snug anyways. I’ll sleep in the bushes outside. I’m more used to them actually. It’s over here.”

Luna led Linebeck to the den and she said, “It’s in these bushes here, no human can find it or even try to fit in there, a kid maybe but at least its okay.”

“All right then, now…to grab a snack.”

They walked into the town square and four kids were walking around the place with a lady with pink hair. When she noticed the wolves, she exclaimed, “Oh my goddesses! You poor thing! Let me help you!”

Luna immediately growled at her and Linebeck whispered, “What are you doing?”

Luna replied while growling, “The last time I let her try to help me; I almost ended up being sold to a slaughter house.”

The lady said, “Fine then, the nerve of these animals.”

When she walked off, Luna looked around and found some humans eating a roasted cucco nearby. Linebeck was about to walk off in the opposite direction and Luna said, “Stay in the bushes Linebeck. I’m going to get you a snack. You’re too weak.”

“I’m not weak…just a few scratches that’s all. I’ll wait in the bushes anyway for a free meal.”
He walked into the bushes and Luna crouched down in the shadows. When she got close enough, she pounced onto the table and ran off with the meat. Then, one of the humans yelled, “Get her!”

Barking was heard behind Luna and she dropped the meat and turned around. Two Rottweilers were running towards her and she was prepared to attack. One of them jumped in the air and Luna jumped and caught it by the throat. She tossed it onto the other dog and ran off with the meat. The dogs started to continue their chase. Luna looked back to see that they were far behind. Suddenly, she crashed into something furry and was knocked onto her back. She looked up to see Linebeck sitting in the direction of the sunlight. Luna had to squint her eyes to block out the glare. Linebeck asked, “What are you doing?”

“Getting you a snack.”

“By stealing? I don’t think so.”

He snagged the meat from her jaws and tossed it towards the angry dogs. They stopped to pick it up and they trotted off with satisfaction. Linebeck said, “Stealing is not good, you know. It may be necessary for survival at times, but there are times when you don’t need it at all. I already got myself something to eat while you were running from the dogs.”

He picked up a dead pig and said, “Let’s eat behind the Bomb Shop over there.”
Luna got up to follow him and they were eating a piglet for a snack when they got there. Afterwards, Linebeck wiped his mouth with his paw and Luna asked, “Why don’t you use your handkerchief to clean your wounds?”

“I don’t use it for those purposes. It’s very important to me. It was my father’s. He was once a great hero himself back at my home island. My father gave I to me when I was only a few years old. One day afterwards, he died while trying to fend off a monster from our island and my mother carried me off as he…pasted away. The monster then disappeared along with our supply of food and water. But now, let’s just relax.”
He curled up to rest and Luna thought about what had happened to her parents before she became an orphan.

Memories

A small black wolf pup ran across a meadow frolicking with joy. Then, a bark was heard and the pup ran towards the source which was a black wolf with a white-tipped tail. Another wolf walked into the scene. He had black fur and had white legs. The two wolves nuzzled the puppy with their noses. The father looked up to the sky with a look of “thank you.” Suddenly, a strange howl echoed through the valley. The wolves looked at the source. A strange large animal stood before them but it was nothing but a blur and only the outline was visible. Then, the male wolf growled and the mother wolf grabbed the pup and started to run off. The father fought as they escaped but soon was horribly wounded and he hit the ground with a thud. The pup, Luna barked, “Dad!”

Her father slowly closed his eyes as the blur placed a gigantic paw on his head. Tears flowed from his eyes and blood flew in the air. Luna struggled as her mother carried her through a forest. Suddenly, the sounds of trees being crushed under something came louder and louder as if it was coming closer to them. Luna’s mother suddenly fell onto the ground, dropping Luna. She then whispered, “Run, Luna. And don’t come back to this forsaken island. Run. Goodbye.”

Tears came from the mother’s eyes. Then, she was dragged away from Luna and the pup ran off in fear. Luna stopped at the beach and she looked back to see her mother being tossed high in the air and then falling down to her death with blood flying into the air. A scream of agony was heard throughout the sky and a roar was heard and the thuds of its footsteps came towards the shore where Luna was at. Luna ran into the water and started to swim for her life. A roar was heard again but Luna kept on swimming and swimming to no end. Tears started to come out of her eyes as she swam northwards. A voice called out, “Luna! Luna!”

“Luna! Wake up!” Something hit Luna’s head and she opened her eyes and
looked around. She realized that Linebeck had hit her head against the ground to wake her up. Linebeck asked, “You were having a nightmare weren’t you?”

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Luna replied as she turned away to hide her tears. Linebeck was silent for a moment and said, “Well…Sorry I hit you on the head. It was the only way to wake you up instead of tossing you into the water.”

He began to walk off but stopped and looked at the sky. Luna realized that there was a hint of water in his eyes but he continued to walk off. He said, “I don’t think we should wait any longer, Luna. Let’s just go now before Ganondorf comes back again.”

He jumped off the ledge and landed on the ground with grace but almost collapsed a moment afterwards. Luna followed and they walked onto his boat. Linebeck turned back into a human and took the wheel while Luna stared at the sea through the window. The boat soon started to move and Luna barked and Linebeck said, “We’ll be there at midnight. Let me put this on autopilot for a moment so I can bandage my wounds and then rest.”

He walked from the wheel after he put the boat on autopilot. Then, he took out some bandages from a drawer and bandaged his wounds. When he was finished, he pulled out a bed from a compartment in the wall and laid down on it. Shortly afterwards, Luna saw something and her ears were down.

She asked, “Uh…Linebeck?”

“Yeah?”

“There’s a dragon outside…”

“What?!”

Linebeck jumped off the bed and looked out the window. There was a huge red dragon flying towards them. It had an orange mane, green eyes, two forelegs and its whole body was like a snake. Luna stared out of the window with amazement while Linebeck immediately took the wheel and steered the ship away from it. He said, “At least things can’t get any worse.” The ship was soon caught in a storm and he yelled, “Why does that have to happen every time?!”

Then, the dragon hovered dangerously close to the boat and reached in through the window with its small hand. Luna instinctively bit it and the dragon screeched in pain. It then roared and a whirlpool formed and the ship was caught in it. Linebeck muttered, “I guess I have it’s time for another beating.”

He put the ship on autopilot and transformed into a wolf. Linebeck jumped out of the window and bit the dragon on the snout. It screeched and he jumped off and landed on its back. There was a green gem on the middle part of its back and Linebeck muttered, “There’s your weak point.” Before he can injure the dragon any further, the dragon grabbed him and roared. Luna quickly jumped out of the window and onto the dragon’s back. She bit the soft gem repeatedly and the dragon soon exploded into smoke. The whirlpool disappeared and the wolves landed onto the deck of the ship. Luna asked, “Are you okay, Linebeck?”

“Yeah. Just a little exhausted from using a lot of energy to jump off the boat. Let’s get back inside before another dragon tries to attack us.”

He walked inside and transformed back into a human. Luna shook the water off her fur and she looked around with closer inspection. Suddenly, a flash of memories came back to her. She was sitting down in the middle of the room but the stuff in the boat were not so old as before. Luna noticed that she was a golden retriever. Then, laughing was heard and small figure started to appear next to her. First, as a blur, then slowly started to get clearer. It turned out to be a small child about three years old but before anything else happened, a voice asked, “Luna, are you okay?”

“Yeah. I’m all right. It’s just that every time I walk in here, I start to get a strange feeling that I’ve been here before. As if I knew this place by heart so many years ago…”

“That’s strange. Well, it’s probably not that important.”

Luna looked around and then shrugged it off. She jumped onto the bed and started to rest while Linebeck was getting them back on-course.

Ikana Island

“We’re here!” The ship pulled into port and they walked outside. Luna looked around at the seemly deserted island. Linebeck looked at the sky. There was a full moon and he said, “Oh great.”

“What?”

“I forgot it was a full moon tonight.”

“So?”

“You’ll see in a moment or two.”

They started to walk onto the dirt of the island and a staflos emerged from the ground. It exclaimed, “Hello! Welcome to Ikana Island! How may I help you?”

Linebeck asked, “Don’t you have anyone else to annoy?”

“Nope! Ha ha ha!”

“Well, we’ll be going now.”

They started to walk away from the skeleton and Linebeck whispered, “Whatever you do, don’t look back.”

This made Luna look back but before she can see anything, he whacked her on the head and she whispered, “You know when you say ‘don’t look back,’ people are going to look anyway!”

“I’m doing this so that the stalfos won’t chat your ear off.”

Then, he grabbed and torch and they walked into a cavern. When they reached the portal that was shaped like a mirror, he said, “That’s odd.”

“What is it, Linebeck?”

“Every time I come here, something happens.”

“What do you mean?”

“You know, like guards or booby traps…”

Suddenly, the torch went out and he finished, “Or an ambush.”

Then, torches lit up around them to reveal that they were surrounded by redeads, staflos and poes. Before Linebeck can take out his sword, one the undead creatures tied his hands behind his back and put a cloth over his mouth while pulling him away. Luna looked around realizing Linebeck was gone and she yelled, “Linebeck! Linebeck, where are you?!”
She was knocked out by a club hitting her head.

***

When she woke up, she looked around. Luna was in a spacious cell that had bars made out of steel. She noticed that there was a sleeping skeleton dog near the cell wearing a wired necklace that had the key on it. Luna walked up to the cell and whistled. The skeleton dog woke up and looked in her direction. She said, “Hey big boy. Why don’t you come over here and set me free of this cage? I might give you a reward.”

The undead dog went back to sleep and Luna muttered, “I’m never going to say those things ever again.”

Then, a moblin walked in the room and sat down at the table eating some food and soon fell asleep afterwards. Luna looked around once more and notice that there was some vases on a shelf. The wall behind them looked a little funny and Luna body slammed into it. The vases hit the floor; awakening the moblin and skeleton dog. They looked around frantically and then at Luna. She was playing innocent by looking around and then licking her paw. They went back to sleep and Luna jumped onto the high shelf. There was actually a tunnel. She crawled through it and landed outside of the building quietly. Luna looked around and found spotlights roaming around the whole building or fortress. There was also moblins and stalfos patrolling the areas and redeads guarding a huge door along with some poes. Suddenly, a yell was heard from the tower along with some swords clashing together. Luna ran towards it but then got under a barrel when a spotlight came. When it left, she got out from her hiding spot and ran into a room that was closest to the tower. The room had a statue of a skeleton on the ceiling. There was also two wooden platforms, one on each side of the room and a lantern in the middle of the room hanging by a rope. Luna ran towards it and grabbed onto the rope with her teeth and swung across the room back and forth. Suddenly, the statue looked down and shot lasers through its eyes at her. Luna quickly let go and landed on the other wooden platform. She opened the door with her teeth and got into the other room before the lasers reached her. Then, steel bars came down and barred the door shut. Luna looked across the room to find two statues of large people in the middle of the room facing each other. She started to walk across the room and found out that the other door was locked too. Then, a sound of something swinging was heard and Luna jumped to the side. The statue behind her was shattered to pieces and there was one of the statues wielding a huge sword and shield. It has silver armor with no markings on it. Luna jumped out of the way as it swung its massive sword around the place. She got behind a column but it was sliced in half and she ran out of the way as it hit the ground with a thud. The creature, a Iron Knuckle, walked towards her. Luna ran towards it and leaped over it. She landed behind the knight and bit its cape off. A green gem was exposed and she slashed at it with her claws and the knight fell onto its knees and then exploded into smoke. Then, the doors opened and Luna walked through it.

The Other Dimension

She was outside once more and she walked towards the redead guards. They did not notice her until one of them was dead. The last redead screamed; freezing Luna. Seizing this chance, one of the poes flew over and entered her body. The possessed Luna stood still as the redead came over and scratched her snout. Once the poe left her body, Luna bit the redead’s head off and when the other poe came, she jumped over it and ran into the tower. She ran up the staircase and exclaimed, “I’m coming, Linebeck!”

*Ten Minutes Later*

Luna was barely walking up the steps panting. She muttered, “Hang on…I’m coming…Oh why…does this…staircase have to be…so long?”

Soon, she got to the door and pushed it open. In the room was Linebeck fighting a large stalfos that had a crown on its head. He had a couple of fresh wounds on his chest but he was still able to fight. Linebeck waved his sword around overconfidently and said, “Come on, old man. Still a little weak from last time?”

“Look at yourself, kid. You’re already messed up and yet you’re too
cocky. That won’t get you nowhere. I’ve already sliced you up, might as well surrender now or die within a heartbeat.”

“Bring it on, Igos Ikana!”

Ikana lunged forward and Linebeck parried the blow and kicked him onto the ground while both their swords were up. The swords’ tip touched the vertebrae of Ikana and Linebeck said, “Now, you surrender and grant me free passage between this dimension and the next or next time we meet, I’ll not hesitate to kill you.”

“Permission granted.”

Linebeck put his sword back and said, “Oh there you are, Luna.”
Luna asked, “How come you didn’t wind up in a cage?”

“Because I’m human and you’re not.”

“You’re part wolf.”

“Nope. I just have the ability to transform into a beast. Well, it’s time to go now before Ganon finds out we’re in the next dimension.”

***

They were back at the portal and Linebeck stepped into the light coming from the mirror and vanished. Luna followed and vanished into the light. Then, they appeared in a similar-looking cavern but this one had red gems on the wall. Linebeck said, “From here, we’re traveling northwards towards Hyrule Castle. My friend, Midna is over there with Princess Zelda. It’ll take a little hike but it’s worth it.”

They walked outside of the cavern and then turned north. Castle Town was just across the field. Linebeck transformed into a wolf and they started to cross the field. Then, a golden beetle flew past them and Luna asked, “What is this place?”

“It’s a parallel dimension of ours. Our dimension is starting to become like this one a little bit but more advanced since we have trains in the New
Hyrule country that my friends founded.”

“Is there any seas or islands in this one?”

“Yes…far away from here. Oh look! Here we are. Now, that wasn’t so far, now…just to get into the castle without the guards kicking me out again…”

“Why? We have to sneak in? I thought you said you have friends in there.”

“I did. But they don’t know I’m banned from the castle.”

“Why?”

Linebeck turned back to normal and replied, “Um…let’s not talk about it.”
Luna asked, “What did you do? Tell me.”

“Let’s just say, it had to deal with a expensive vase.”

“You stole it? And you tell me not to steal. Hypocrite!”

“It’s an old habit of mine and I’m still trying to break it. I gave the vase back but it didn’t help. Anyways, let’s move on.”

Princess Zelda and Midna

When Linebeck and Luna got closer to the entrance of Hyrule Castle, they got behind a alley next to the entrance. The guards had walked off for a moment to stop a fight between two kids and Linebeck muttered, “Perfect.” Then, he ran over to the entrance and checked to see if there was any more guards. He motioned Luna to follow and they quietly got into the courtyard. They quickly dove into the bushes as a guard walked by. Linebeck whispered, “Okay, the only way for us to get in if there was a distraction. Then, we’ll be able to sneak inside.”

Luna whispered, “But we don’t have anything that’ll distract all the guards at once.”

“I have an idea.”

He pushed Luna in front of a guard and he yelled, “Monster!”
The guard unsheathed his sword and Luna ran off with him following. All the other guards followed and Luna barked, “I’ll get you for this, Linebeck!”

Linebeck got into the castle while Luna ran for her life through the courtyard. She then entered the western courtyard and made a sharp turn around a corner. Suddenly, something grabbed her by the neck scruff and pulled her into the bushes. Something held Luna’s mouth shut while the rest of the guards ran past by. Linebeck stood up with the squirming wolf in his arms and released her snout. Luna asked, “Where’d you come from?”

“The window. Sorry I had to do that. It was the only thing I can come up with…and from force of habit.”
They climbed through the window and Linebeck shut it and pulled the curtains over it afterwards. Luna said, “I’ll get you for this.”

“I don’t think so, kid. I’m a self-trained professional at this stuff.”
They started to walk through the hallway and Luna whispered, “Will you stop calling me, ‘kid?’ I’m like twenty-one in dog years (3 human years).”

“In human years, I’m twenty years older than you and in dog years…I’m 154 years old. Either way you’re a lot younger than me. So, you ARE a kid compared to me, get used to it. I’m older and you’re younger.”

“That’s if you convert both ages at the same time. If you didn’t convert your years into dog years, I would be close to your age.”

“But still younger than me. Face it, humans live a lot longer than canines
and—oh shoot! Sorry…”

“It’s okay. Besides, it’s obvious that I’m going to live a LOT longer than you since I have the triforce of power, which grants me immorality.”
Linebeck stopped walking and muttered, “Dang, I guess I deserved that.”
After awhile, they were on the highest floor and Linebeck said, “Hmm…That’s odd. Is there any guards at all in this castle?”

Then, they walked into the throne room. There was a huge gathering of guards and Linebeck gulped at seeing so many. One of them yelled, “You again?! How did you get in?!”

Another yelled, “You came in to take another treasure again, didn’t you?!”
They raised their spears at them. “Come on, guys. At least I gave it back to you,” said Linebeck nervously to calm them down. He added, “Besides, it was just a cheap vase that’s all.”

He then realized what he had said and the knights grew even more hostile. When they tried to get closer, a voice yelled, “Boys! This is very rude! Drop your weapons and let him through!”

They backed off and put their weapons on the ground. There was a princess with brown hair sitting on the throne with someone wearing a exotic black dress/cloak standing next to her. The princess said, “Oh, I didn’t see your friend there. Guards, report back to your stations, we can have this discussion later. I wish to speak to them alone.”

The guards left and the person standing next to the princess coughed and Linebeck remembered something and muttered, “Oh yeah.” He bowed and Luna followed. The princess said, “At ease. Now, why did you come here in the middle of a meeting, Linebeck?”

Linebeck stood straight up to bend his back to straighten his vertebrae; which made a cracking sound and he answered, “Princess Zelda, I can to inform you that I found the bearer of the triforce of power.”

The woman next to Zelda said, “It’s about time, you took a long time to find her.”

Linebeck replied, “At least I don’t go around flirting with every guy you see on the street while not even bothering to find the true bearer of the triforce of power!”

Zelda looked at her and said angrily, “Midna…”

“What? I can’t help it. Besides, Linebeck does the same thing.”

Linebeck exclaimed, “No I don’t! Especially what happened after the incident with Jolene!”

Midna asked, “Didn’t you start it?”

“I’m talking about the other incident…”

“Oh yeah…”

Zelda said, “Now, since we have to get back on-topic…Is that the heroine from the prophecy that you’ve brought with you?”

“Yes. Her name is Luna. The triforce of power has chosen her.”

Zelda asked, “Did you run into Ganondorf?”

“Yes. I almost lost my life obviously.”

Midna corrected, “You mean, your eye.”

Linebeck covered his eye with his hand and said, “That’s just a scratch. You should see the scars I have on my back.”

“I rather not, thank you very much.”

“I never asked you about that.”

“It seemed like it.”

“Well, now you know.”

“That you don’t have good fighting skills? I knew that a long time ago Linebeck.”

“Hey! At least I don’t turn into an imp and ride on some wolf’s back and sit there to watch him fight monsters!”

“Um, FYI, I DO fight with him.”

“By making the soil below him turn black? Weak…”

“You should see me in my all-powerful form!”

“Ooh, I’m so scared of a giant spider wearing a helmet with a golden spear.”

“Ah! You wanna fight!”

They pulled out their swords and Linebeck replied, “Sorry, I don’t fight imps.”

“What’d you say?!”

Their swords clashed and both Zelda’s and Luna’s ears tilted downwards. Zelda said, “Ugh, and to believe that they are supposed to be your guardians…It’s almost sad. Luna, there’s two Ganondorfs after you. They’ve probably figured out that you obtained the triforce of power and are searching for you as we speak. You must find your true power. There are eight temples. All contain the elements of life. You, Linebeck, and Midna are to seek out these temples starting with the ones in the forest, fire and water temples. After you’ve obtained these elements, come back to me and you’ll get a little surprise.”

Then, Midna’s voice rang, “Ah! I broke a nail!”

Linebeck laughed and Midna sliced the handkerchief off his neck. He exclaimed, “My father’s handkerchief!”

Zelda yelled, “Would you two stop already?! You’re both acting like children! It’s almost embarrassing to think that you’re the ones that have to protect Luna from the Ganondorfs!”

Linebeck tied his handkerchief around his neck and said, “She’s right. Truce?”

Midna agreed, “Sure, whatever. Truce.”

When they shook hands, Linebeck got electrified and Midna laughed. There was a flame on his mustache and he pinched it to put it out. He glared at her and said trying to contain his temper, “Let’s go, Luna.”
They walked off and Zelda shouted, "Oh! What was that about stealing treasure Linebeck?!"

"Sorry! I can't hear you! See ya!"

Zelda sighed.

Poisonous Gas

Linebeck asked, “So, do you know where the Forest Temple is
at, Midna?”

Midna replied, “It’s in Faron Woods. I hope you didn’t steal from the natives.”

Linebeck was eyeing a huge ruby that looked like a rose. He quickly put the ruby away in his pocket and asked, “Why would I steal from a bunch of monkeys? All they have that’s important to them is the nest inside their temple and that’s it.”

“Oh really?”

She grabbed the ruby from his pocket and tossed it into the bushes. A monkey with a rose on her left ear popped out and nodded its head in appreciation. After it ran off, Linebeck yelled, “Why’d you do that?! I was going to pay off the bet Zant and I made!”

“Don’t worry, he committed suicide. Besides, I know you weren’t going to pay him off anyway. What were you guys betting on, anyway?”

“Nothing…”

She glared at him and he said, “We betted on who would win the fight you and Link had.”

“You two were spying on us!?”

“You guys were fighting right in front of us! We were just strolling around
in the hallway ‘til we saw you chasing Link around the castle! I have to admit it WAS amusing to watch you two break up.”

Midna grabbed him by the throat and lifted him off the ground. Luna asked, “Hey, what’s that smell?”

Midna dropped Linebeck when he transformed into a wolf. He sniffed the air and said, “Ah, that’s just some monkey corpse nearby.”

“No, the other smell.”

Linebeck sniffed the air once more and said, “Oh that. It’s just a couple of bokoblins roasting a wild cucco.”

He transformed back to normal and they moved on. Then, they came to a grove and Midna stopped to look around. She said, “That’s odd. I thought the poison would still be here…”

Then, Luna stood at the edge of the wooden dock and sniffed the air. She ran back and Linebeck started to cough. He covered his mouth with his handkerchief and asked, “What the heck?! Is this invisible poisonous gas or what?!”

He ran back to Midna and Luna. Midna said, “I guess you two have to jump from tree to tree or rock to rock. See ya!”

Midna turned into her imp form and floated over the poisonous gas. She then shot some magic towards the ground and the poisonous gas turned pinkish-purple and floated to the other side of it. Linebeck muttered, “Some help you are…”

He transformed into a wolf and said, “Follow me.”

Linebeck jumped from tree stump to rock and etc. Luna did the same until she caught up with Linebeck. Suddenly, Linebeck stopped in place to avoid being hit by the huge tree branch that’s swinging side to side in front of him. Luna had accidently bumped into him; almost making Linebeck fall off. Linebeck caught Luna before she fell into the poisonous gas below and jumped onto the next platform before the tree branch got in their way again. When they were on the next platform, he dropped her onto the wood and said, “Don’t ever do that again.”

They continued jumping from the platforms onto the next platforms until they finally landed on the other side of the grove. Midna said, “Take took you two a long time...”

“Midna, don’t start,” warned Linebeck as he walked off.

Midna and Luna followed and Midna sat down on Luna’s back. When they walked into a clearing Linebeck transformed back to normal. He asked, “What the heck are you doing, Midna?”
While Luna was walking past him, Midna was lying down on her back fixing her nails saying, “Resting my feet. I can’t stand to walk like this for miles you know.”

“Lazy…”

Midna stuck her tongue at him as they walked towards the temple. Then, they noticed the monkey from earlier was doing something. She was trying to break the ruby against a rock and when she did, a type of nectar oozed out. Midna said, “I can’t believe you thought that was a treasure you can sell. Everyone knows Rose Gems carry nectar AND that they are also a different type of flower.”

Linebeck was about to say something but had changed his mind. Then, when they walked up the bridge, Luna tore the spider web apart to clear the way and they entered the temple.

The Forest Temple

They looked around at the temple. There was a lot of poisonous liquid flowing through the cracks of the walls or through the floor like a small creek. Midna covered her nose and said, “Eww, this place smells worse than a boar corpse. I don’t remember it being like this.”
Luna started to breathe through her mouth to avoid inhaling the awful smell though her snout. When they had to climb some vines, Luna had to jump to get onto the higher level. In the main room, there was a skulltula eyeing them from above with its mouth drooling over the taste for human blood. Around the wooden steps and platforms was poisonous water. Linebeck said, “And to think this is only a fraction of the stink and poison around here…”

Midna said, “I agree. But at least we only have to put up with it for now.”
The skulltula finally came down onto the wooden platform and hissed. Luna jumped over the small gap between the platforms and landed next to the giant spider. She bit it on the head. Her fangs sunk through its skull and she tossed it into the liquid below. The skulltula started to melt and Midna said, “Well, what do ya know? It’s actually acid. Careful not to touch it.”

Linebeck jumped over the gap and said, “Now, how to get to the mini-boss…They usually carry a map and a key to the boss’s lair nowadays.”
They walked towards the door north of them and opened it. There was a massive amount of poisonous gas in the air. Luna inhaled a lot of fresh air and knocked Midna off her back with her tail. She ran into the gas and Linebeck yelled, “Luna! Come back!”

He looked at Midna and said, “I’ll go after her since you’re too lazy to get off your butt.”

He ran into the gas after her and Midna got off her butt literally. She floated around the gas and got into the room they were in. There was a huge flower in the middle of the room. A gold and purple key was next to it and Midna exclaimed, “Ooh! A key!” Linebeck yelled, “Midna! Get back here or--.”

Too late. A huge, deku-like head of the plant had grabbed her and tossed Midna and key inside of its flower, or stomach in other words. It turned its head at them and Linebeck drew his sword. Luna ran towards it and grabbed a hold of its stem. The plant flailed in pain and Linebeck sliced the head off. The head hit the ground and Luna said, “That was too easy.”
Then, two more heads sprouted from the plant and Linebeck muttered, “Oh great.” The heads lunged at them and hit the ground hard when they missed. Linebeck and Luna sliced or bit their heads off but four more sprouted. Luna said, “Maybe if we decapitate them all at once, they’ll stop growing back.”

“Well, let’s figure that out for ourselves.”

Linebeck tossed his sword like a boomerang and sliced all their heads off. He grabbed his sword when it came back and twirled it. When he put it back in its sheathe, sixteen heads sprouted and Midna’s voice cried from the flower, “Will you forget the head-slicing thing and get me out of here!!”
Linebeck got an idea and said, “I’ll distract them. You go grab a bomb from a bombchu.”

Luna ran off while Linebeck fended them off with his sword. She bit the legs off a bombchu and came back with the bomb. By that time, the heads had wrapped their stems around Linebeck and lifted him in the air. Linebeck shouted, “Okay, toss the bomb into the flower! Before I get crushed!”

Luna tossed the bomb into the flower and it exploded, making the heads wither. They fell onto the ground and an angry imp walked towards them. She was covered in a slimy green goo and was holding the key in her right hand. Midna slowly looked up at them and Linebeck said sarcastically, “You look lovely.”

“Who…threw the bomb into the flower?” said Midna, trying to contain her anger. Linebeck immediately pointed at Luna and Midna said, “Well, don’t do it again.” She used Linebeck coat as a towel to wipe the goo off her face and then got back on Luna’s back. Linebeck wiped the goo off and a treasure chest appeared. Luna walked over to it and opened it with her snout. She grabbed a map and Linebeck quickly snatched it from her. He looked at it and said, “So that’s where the boss is…”

Midna asked, “Where?”

“Right below us.”

Luna spotted a hole nearby and she exclaimed, “Hey, there’s a hole over there!”
