Congratulations

As of this moment, anyone enrolling in my class is going to become awesome. If you are enrolled in my class, that means that you (yes, you) are going to be awesome. It will not happen overnight, but eventually it will come to the point where people will read your roleplays and make sounds like, "Oooh!" and, "Aah!" and "Oh my god, that is so [excluded for legal reasons]!"

I call myself Coyote. I answer to Honor, Honour, and Silver as well. I am the Eveel Kittay. I was taught by Shrub, Vroomfondel, Gracie, and Angel. I have been a Councilor. I am a legendary badass and my writing is made of win, drizzled with fantastic, and sprinkled with a coating of awesome. My interests are being cool, making fun of people, and doing everything better than everyone else. If Chuck Norris were more awesome and knew how to shave, he would be me.

Things to Know If You Want to be Cool With Me

Rule 1: You have to want to be here. If you don't want to be here, find somewhere else to be. I will not accept students who are being forced into my class. The desire to learn has to be a choice you made yourself.

Rule 2: This homeroom does not condone spam. Anything not directly related to the class, like a question about the assignments or a request for specific critique, is not to be discussed here. You can go to the Out of Character Thread just like everyone else. I will report spammers.

Rule 3: Be awesome. I do not want to hear defeatist, "I suck." statements from my students. If you don't like your writing, change it. If your characters stink, alter them. If you want to eat a piece of cake, chow the hell down!

Rule 4: We have our cake and eat it too. All of the assignments in this homeroom will be actual roleplays developed by you with me to help with guidance and advice. Your grammar, spelling, and style will be touched on lightly but most of what this class will address is your ability to start and finish roleplays. You will never work alone.

Rule 5: Anyone in my homeroom who breaks the rules of the Escapists' Haven, either inside or outside the Roleplaying Academy, will be expelled. Read them carefully. If you don't understand them, ask me what they mean.

The Curriculum

The curriculum of this class is simple and almost entirely linear. You will choose a character to act as your "lead" character. It can be anyone, but the newer and weaker they are the better this will be. You will then brainstorm, with me or one of my assistants, a story you want to write for your character. It can be whatever you want. The story can be as long as you like, but it must include at least fifteen ideas for roleplays and it must be fluid enough as a concept that just about any kind of character can take part.

You are encouraged to use the Dome as a premise for your plot. The Dome is building that bridges and defies all space-time, making it possible for anyone and anything to be present at any place at any time in history. Keep that in mind: now that your character is in the Dome, they have a way to get anywhere.

A homeroom plot is in the works and will be coming soon for students to enjoy.

OoC: 'kay, why is there no Puck prefix? :P Oh well, anyway, let's get this over with.

BiC: Must keep training... the young mage known as Lily thought to herself as she practiced striking tall trees with her Arcwind spell. The large, sharp gust of wind penetrated each wooden trunk it touched. More trees were revealed ahead, creating a slab of woods in Lily's path. If not for the gusts always causing a breeze to blow right into Lily's face, she would more than likely be sweating by this time. Exhaustion slowly plagued her like mold covering bread.

"Ha...ha..." she panted, bringing her spell casting to a stop. "Maybe I should rest..." As Lily had spoken to herself, the words of an old ally sparked the appearance in her mind. Although we must keep battling in order to be strong, one should never push oneself too hard, Lily, the ally had told her. She had decided long ago to believe these words and once Lily had reminded herself of them once again, she chose to rest.

"I can't keep up like this..." Lily finally said to herself. "It's just like Sir Ike said. I mustn't constantly wear myself out. Still...Zarek, the next time we meet, I promise I will not be the same Lily you knew during the Shadow War."

For the longest time, Lily felt sorry for the behavior she exhibited in front of Zarek during the Shadow War. It was a long series of battles that took place in the continent of her birth. The embarrassment she caused him led the other members of the army to tease him carelessly. Ever since the battles ended, Lily held the regret inside her heart and would not let it go until she was forgiven. Still, it was Zarek who had given her the strength and courage to continuously fight against the enemy despite her usual dislike to fight.

This, Lily had made her sole mission. She desired to grow better and stronger for Zarek, her one true love, and him alone. Somehow, although he had never said so, Zarek seemed to love her back, and this sparked the young mage's determination only more. Ever since they had separated Lily dreamed of the day she would reunite with her Zarek and hear him say he loved her. Once she had regained some of her energy, Lily began walking through the woods in search of another good location to resume training later.

The woods gradually grew thicker as Lily traveled through, forcing her to resort to fire magic in order to burn a path for her to travel. A few simple Elfire spells sufficed, and she carried on. However, as Lily traveled, something other than trees and other foliage caught her eye. It was a tall double door built into a large stone wall straight ahead. What appeared to be a sign was hanging above it. Lily approached the double door with slight caution.

"Now what would a place like this be doing in the middle of some woods?" she wondered, and began turning her attention to the sign above. "Ah well, perhaps there's someone in there who knows about thunder magic. I was going to practice those spells next anyway." Lily then began to read the medium-sized words inscribed on the sign.

"The...Dome?"

OoC: You can find the bio for Balt in my sig; I know it's pretty short and sweet but he was my first character so cut me some slack! :XD:

BiC:

He stood in the Gardens of the Dome. It was his favourite area of the massive structure simply for the quiet, natural feeling it exuded constantly. For three days he had been here, and for three days he'd marvelled at the Dome itself. A massive structure, it seemed to bend to the will, the very consciousness, of the individual. His Angelic nature gave him the ability to sense it's reality warp and bend. He wondered how a true Angel would have reacted to the Dome. It wasn't just a building, a structure, an area. It was a world in itself, an entire dimension.

He remembered how he found it, and wondered once again if it was chance or something more complex which had brought him here. At first he had thought chance; now he wasn't so sure.

He has been doing the same thing as he had for the last ten thousand years; travelling, from world to world, using the gift of his Angelic stock to move between the walls of the realities themselves. In some, he was welcomed as a friend, in many his aid was needed and taken with gratitude. In most, he was just another outcast, searching for some quest or another.

He had walked through the last world for four days while waiting to regain the power to travel. Dark and desolate death lay everywhere. Something had pushed through that world and taken all the life with it. Villages lay in ruins. Burnt forests still smoldered, smoking gently. The ground itself was hard and cracked and dead. His Angelic senses had detected not one sign of life. It was a ghost world.

Even as battle-tested as Balthazar was, the place had made him uneasy. He wanted to leave, he had to move on. In truth, he was a little fearful of whatever power had done such a thing. No, four days was long enough for Balthazar's powers to return, and long enough for him to know that no aid he could offer would help that world. He left the barren villages and woodlands behind and headed to the East, until he found a small hillock, the grass as dead and dry as everywhere else.

He stood at the top of the mound, and exerted his senses as he had so may times before. He closed his eyes and focussed his will, until his mind rose through the murk of the physical world. He opened his eyes, and saw the gates. Of course, he didn't physically see them; he could only sense them. It was almost like a transparent overlay of his eyesight, allowing him to see the gateways with his mind, the doors and weaknesses of reality where the worlds brushed up against one another.

The process, as always, was somehow enlightening, almost blissful. The effect was only spoilt by the everpresent thought that this was how the Angels, the true Angels, saw the world all the time. As a half-breed, Balthazar could only hold the mindset for a limited amount of time, and it was yet another sign of how he different he was. How alone.

He shook the thought out of mind and focussed on the doors. He pulled them closer, sifting through the worlds he could see. An ocean, a forest, a city with strange, moving metal boxes. So much to choose from. And then he felt it; a pulse amongst the worlds he could see...a hint of something different to these mundane realities.

He frowned; he had felt it, elusive and strange, and it intrigued him. Each world had a feeling, a sense, and he had never felt anything like that before. He concentrated and pushed through the gateways again. Sifting and searching, he barely gave the worlds a second glance, hunting for that feeling again. There! It brushed against his consciousness for just a moment, and disappeared.

He cursed, and pushed forward again. He could feel it now, just barely, but it eluded his search, staying just beyond his reach. It was so frustrating, taunting. He grunted at the strain on his senses. Biting his lip, he closed his eyes and pushed, concentrating, and strained with all his senses-

Suddenly he had it. Barely, as if may slip away again at any moment, but it was there, and he realized at last why it was so difficult to find. The world was huge. It sat behind all the others like a background, like the base that all the others lay against. The other worlds were tiny and insignificant in comparison.

Fascinated, Balthazar peered through the door. What he saw there confused him. It was huge, that much was clear; but there was a feeling that the reality itself was constantly twisting and changing. He wondered at this world, marvelling at it's very nature.

He realized it was slipping from his grasp, and made his decision. Focussing again, he draw on his powers and channelled them into the doorway. Bringing it closer, weakening the fabric between them, the image refocussed into a grassland in the midst of night. The gate became thin enough to allow access, and Balthazar stepped through the distorted image.

As always, the process was instantaneous, and he stepped onto the wet grass beyond. As the gateway behind him collapsed, Balthazar lowered his senses and as his mind drifted back into the physical realm once more, he took in the smells and sounds around him. The sweet scent of dew wafted against him, and the soft light of the moon washed the meadow in a mellow glow.

Balthazar inhaled deeply, basking in the tranquil feeling around him, and froze as he realized he was not alone. Startled, he grabbed at the hilt of his broadsword, but did not draw the blade. Staring at the figure in front of him, he waited.

The figure, unmoving, simply smiled, and spoke calmly. "Welcome to the Dome."
