These questions ask stuff about the american revolution and how colonists fought for independance and such. Just the boring stuff.

Q1. Explain why Thomas Paine's Common Sense became such an important pamphlet.

Q2. Who suggested independance to the second continental congress and which members were on the committee?

Q3. Describe the reasons colonists used to justify declaring their independance.

Q4. How did the declaration exclude many people?

Anyway, I've made up my mind that I'm gonna learn Japanese. However, I really don't want to have to pay for a college class. Now, I'm not a stranger learning new languages; I've known Spanish since I was a little kid (on account of my mother being from Puerto Rico), and I learned some French in high school. However, I've never tried to learn a language outside of a classroom, so I don't know what the best way is.

Should I use the Rosetta Stone software or is there a better way?

I am trying to form an essay around the idea of video gaming and adolescents. I plan to argue that certain video games can actually give adolescents insight and knowledge akin to that gained from literary merit, and perhaps throw in a few other upsides to gaming. I am using Zelda and Metal Gear Solid series as my examples for the themes and characters they possess. What I need help with though, is coming up with a viable question that this essay will be answering, or basically something that will lead me around a strong thesis.

Right now, I am not entirely sure that I have a strong enough base for the rest of my essay, and fear that it will yield a weak paper if I continue on what little I have here. Can anyone pull together the little pieces I have written above into a good question for the paper to answer? (I'm sorry if my English is not too clear; I can reiterate if needed.)

this is for an extra credit thing. I don't actually HAVE to figure this out, but I want to, and I'm sure a few of you find this sort of thing interesting.

Ok so if you're not familiar with Knights and Knaves logic puzzles, the premise is this: On this island, there are two types of people. Knights, and knaves. Knights -always- tell the truth, and knaves -always- lie. So if a knight says P, P is true. If a knave says P, P is false, or, Not P is true. Simple.

K, so this is the puzzle:

You want to know whether there is any gold on this island.
You meet one person, A, but you don't know whether A is a knight or a knave. You can ask A one yes/no question.

What question can you ask that will tell you if there is gold on the island?

I'm usually pretty good with these puzzles, but this is the only one I can't get. If anyone would like me to post simpler puzzles (most of the other ones aren't like this, they're more like, determine who is a knight and who is a knave depending on what they say, save for one which is in the same vein as this one), let me know. It may be easier to think about this one if you get better acquainted with those.

thanks.
