It worked the first time I had to do it, before you revive Tetra. But in the final phase, my damn DS doesn't accept the "hourglass" symbol I'm drawling.

Did anyone else have a problem freezing time? Can someone tell me why I can't freeze time in the final phase of the battle, even though I could before?

If I am unable to beat the final boss because of this, this is officially the worst video game I have ever played.

Thank you.

So far, these are the only Zeldas I have never played, and that's because I have lacked a Gameboy for some time now. Plus, the games really never got that much recognition, so I really never thought about getting them. As a huge fan of the Zelda franchise, it would be a nice milestone for me to say that I have played and beaten every game of the series. But it isn't mandatory. If OoX isn't worth buying another Gameboy and giving my sparce time to play them, then I won't bother. Keep in mind, I'm a busy college student and I intend on spending my leisure time wisely.

Sooo, tell me about these games. What did you guys like about them? What did you dislike? What makes them stand out from other Zelda titles? How do they compare to LA, or any other 2D Zelda?

I want your thoughts, ZU...

I recently started playing PH and I just got the Azurine.

I heard so many people dump on this game that I thought I wouldn't enjoy it,
but I'm having a great time with the game. It's a lot of fun and the controls are
good for the most part (rolling is almost impossible, and crossing moving platforms
is tricky). Although the story seems less epic than Wind Waker, I am having more
fun with this game, the dungeons are frequent, and it keeps you in the action, also
characters aren't so scarce, and boat travel is faster. I'll readily admit that it is
a pain re-solving puzzles in the Temple of the Ocean King, but I can live with it.

I'm more than satisfied with PH :3nod , especially since I was expecting a dud.
And the paper cut-outs are awesome :mastahsword:

EDIT:
I like the fishing but it is too much of a pain catching up with the single fish in the sea...

I own both Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, I've beaten both of them, and I love them to death as being two of the greatest handheld Zelda's of all time (that's just my personal opinion, so don't hate me for it), but as I looked back at both games, they had their share of difficulties, which led me to ask the question:

Which one was more challenging?

For me, it was definitely Oracle of Ages. Just all the challenging puzzles you had to do before you could actually enter the regular dungeon were actually fairly challenging, and the dungeons themselves were all the more challenging.

Overall, it was a great game, but I feel that it made Oracle of Seasons look too easy. But that's just my opinion. What do you guys think?

Recently, I've started replaying the Oracle games, and granted they are fun, and entertaining, but I have found one flaw. They are just not challenging (except for Jabu Jabu's Belly in OOA). Neither are any of the Handheld Zelda games, at least not anymore. I hate making a thread like this, but I would assume that other people share the same thoughts as I do. I was just seeing if anyone has any challenges that may be near impossible, or just difficult to do. Right now I am trying to beat Twinrova and Ganon, with the L-1 sword, Cursed Ring (2X damage, 1/2 sword damage), and I cannot lose three hearts (linked game gives you 4 to start with). While this is challenging, yes, it is the only challenge I have yet to come up with. If anyone knows any challenges for any of the handheld games, could you please post them. Maybe you guys could try them too.

And to spur a little more conversation, do you guys agree that Handheld Zelda games are just getting easier? I definitely think so (maybe due to the casual gamer audience), but I still think Handheld Zelda's (well, Zelda in general) needs a revamp in difficulty. They could at least include different difficulties.

This just popped into my head now, but-Has anyone else ever thought of where the Pure Metals come from? I mean, the most powerful and valuable Metals in the Great Sea cant just appear out of nowhere, can they?
Well, here's the theories:

According to the article on Zelda Wiki, the Crimsonine may have been extracted from Dongorongo, or rather, the gems on it's back. Seems like something i can agree with, Dongorongo probably tries to eat/burn everything it sees cause it's still in pain from the extraction or really angry at the gorons for doing it in the first place.

The Azurine could be Permafrost of some description, given the fact it is received from the Ice Dungeon, or perhaps it is made from the Gleeok's Scales.

Aquanine could have been created by the inhabitants of the Isle of Ruins, as a Power Source or Storage System(IE A Battery) for their (War)Machines, making the Aquanine the highest Quality piece of this Substance.

Ready, Set, Theorize(PS, im not quite sure if this belongs in Handheld or Theorizing)

As some of you may have heard, a glitch has been discovered in Link's Awakening DX that allows one to attain a colored tunic by killing a mass amount of monsters. I'm not sure how recently the glitch was discovered, but the YouTube Video detailing it is dated at October 17, 2009. Here's the video:

Link's Awakening DX--Color Tunics without Color Dungeon!

Now, so far only the first 5 tunics (Green, Red, Blue, "Damage", and "Dark Blue") have methods of obtaining them. I want to see if we can't find monsters/monster combinations to net us the remaining tunics, as petrie911 has listed in a comment on his YouTube video. Here's the list of tunics (indexes are listed in hexadecimal):

[EDIT] Here's an updated list with my results of messing around:

00 - Green (Link's normal tunic, NPC's/monsters/etc.)
01 - Red (Red Tunic, others)
02 - Blue (Blue Tunic, others)
03 - Heart (Also called "Damage", the palette used for the Heart item, as well as to show damage)
04 - Rupee (Also called "Dark Blue" or "Black with Blue", the palette used for the Rupee item amongst others)
05 - Item 1 (Also called "Dark Green" or "Black with Green", as it's normally used for bushes/grass; the color changes depending on your location, and what overworld items can be found there)
06 - Item 2 (Also called "Dark Purple" or "Black with Purple", this one's normally used for rocks; again, it changes depending on where you are)
07-0F - Blank (Makes you invisible)
10 - Orange (Marin's color scheme, as well as other NPC's and such)

I realize this might be better suited to the Glitch sticky, but I figure if people are working on it it would be easier to have in a separate thread.
