What programming languages do YOU know?

:science:I, being the major nerd that I am, have decided to learn two programming languages: Python and Java.

I was thinking: what languages to other ZUers know? and how many know one at all?

my predictions for the most common would be Java, BASIC, and C++.

Hey guys, I have a problem with playing games on my computer. It seems to be to do with 3D games, 2D games I have no problem with so I'm guessing there's something wrong with my graphics card or I need to tweek some things in my computer. Basically, anything that's 3D works for a little while, but then everything sort of... explodes... I have a screen shot or Zoo Tycoon 2 doing this:

NAT Problems

Within my house both me and my brother own an XBox 360. Often we play online at the same time. My router has always had Open NAT settings. However, recently it began changing it to moderate. If I restart the router it reverts back to Open, but only for about half an hour. And just today it has registered as Strict. I checked the NAT on my brother's XBox who is playing online at the same time, and his NAT registers as Open. I can't really figure out what's going on. I can't keep resetting it because my brother plays online as well the same as me, and he has no problems so it's not fair on him to keep disconnecting him. Any ideas on what the issue is?

Oh, if it helps, I'm using a Sky brand wireless router. It seems to be an in house made one.

Itunes help

Some of the songs I've downloaded outside of itunes I have altered so that they are classified under different artists, genres, etc to simplify filing (ex. I changed the artist of some of my SM64 music so that its in the same category as my other Nintendo stuff).

However, when I play these songs from my computer, they keep reverting back to the previous data. How can I stop this?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but it seemed like the most logical choice.

Anyway, I would like to get Hockey Night in Canada, due to the fact I've heard its much better coverage of the NHL season than other networks. Since I live in Maryland, I'm to far south to receive it over the air, and my cable network doesn't offer CBC. I also can't get it online because my computer doesn't have a Canadian IP address.

Is there any way to get it?

I suppose I could look this up in the online manual, but that would require effort.

First: I've noticed you can add sites to your search tool bar. The problem is that with some sites, I can't add them, even though they have search functions. How do I add these sites.

Also, whenever I download something, a list of everything I've downloaded pops up. Is there a way to disable this so I don't have to deal with an annoying pop up whenever I download something?

Finally: When one of my parents close firefox, it asks them if the want to save where they were. With my file, it does not do this. How do I enable this feature?

TV Trouble

My parents bought a new HD TV, ran the cable through, however they don't get many channels that are picture perfect/clear. The only ones from the top of my head are FX, History, Spike, The Weather Channel, CNBC, and Fox News. Do anybody know what could be the problem why the rest of the channels look soo crappy?

And I have no idea what is wrong.

So I was walking around, listening to my songs, minding my own business, when suddenly the music stopped. "That's odd," I thought "I didn't think I was low on battery power." So I pulled it out and saw that the lights were still on. I looked at the screen... and it was a solid blue color with a couple of black lines like a bar code running down it. At first, I could still see the music playing screen, but it quickly faded away. I tried messing with the buttons, but nothing happened. I tired to shut if off. Nothing. I tried the manual shut off. Still nothing. I went back and plugged it into my computer. Nada. It's completely frozen.

The only thing I can think to do is let it run out of battery power, but that might take a while. I have no idea how much power it's using in this state. Help me ZU I don't know what just happened. :<

Dead HD

I have this laptop. It had, but no longer has a hard drive. It was killed by the stupid lappy's overheating.

I need to get a new HD but I have to no clue what to get. It's a 2.5" sata hardrive, so I need another one of those. I was looking to spend about 30$ or so.

I'm looking for something that is cheap but can hold at least 80GB. S

So can any of you techies help me. I don't know how to computer.

Editing Animated pics

I'm working with MS paint (yes, I'm doing ghetto sig making). For some reason, whenever I try to enlarge, add text to, or edit in any way an animated picture, it stops being animated and instead turns into a still.

How do I prevent this and/or get around it?

Saving a Crashed HD

Let me start by saying, for those of you who don't know, I'm horrible with computers:).

So last night my laptop apparently decided it was going to crash. I went to turn it on and got a blue screen saying something about not starting windows due to lack of disk space, my dad told me this means it crashed. He said he has a disk to wipe the hard drive, but it will delte everything I have. I want to know if there's a way to either fix it without wiping the system, or to make a back up of my files.

Sometime in the next couple weeks im going to be getting about $182 from some people that owe me money for certain things.
I'm planning to use the money for Call of Duty MW2 and an Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter.
Just recently Microsoft released a new WNA that now supports N networks along with A/B/G networks and im wondering if the new WNA has increased overall speed/connection over the old WNA.
If this is the case, it would help because my Xbox is in my bedroom upstairs while my wireless router is downstairs in my basement.

So should i buy the new WNA or the old WNA?

So some viruses got onto our computer and are having a party. There's not that many (only 10), but I still want to get rid of them as soon as possible. I'm not too well-versed in computer virus terminology, so I think I'll just copy the viruses I have onto here:

Now, I'm quite scared since I don't want these viruses to rape our relatively new computer. So my question is, what is the best free virus removal & protection software available for download? I already have Windows Defender, but I don't trust it. After all, it let ten viruses in.

Will my computer be ok?

EDIT: Oh, and if you need to know where they came from, my mom said she opened an email (a chain email, I think) and some Windows protection popup came up or something. I don't know exactly what happened-- I wasn't home.

This is probably for Mac people that know what they�re talking about more than I do.

Here�s my problem: Quicktime X and Quicktime 7 cannot play .avi files. I have Flip 4 mac aaan Perian installed yet it still gives me the �Quicktime does not have the components to play this blahblahblah you may need third party blahblahblah�

I downloaded VLC to see if that could play the movie I downloaded, but then all VLC showed me �Use Windows Media Player� So I just thought it was the file being retarded. So VLC played the other .avi�s lying around my computer but I want to know why Quicktime wont even with my plug-in�s installed.

Any ideas?

I have this vid that is like an hour long. The segment i want to upload is in the middle somewhere. Also it is longer than 10 min. Thus the question: what software (preferably freeware) should i use to get the segment i want to upload into a separate file, and then use to split that file into two parts so i can upload it to youtube?

I'm currently running Vista Home Premium, which is unable to run IME files. Is Windows 7 [Home Premium] allowed to do so? I'm currently in need to use Hiragana/Kanji/Katakana characters for use on the internet.

What will HP do?

To put it simply, my HP laptop is shot. Well, that's what I've been told.

Problems:

1. It will not detect the charger or turn on, even when it's plugged in. I tried several outlets in my house to no avail.
2. My video card seemed very stressed. I rarely played any graphics-intensive games (such as Fallout 3), and the problems continued even after reformatting.
3. My so-called "HD SUPREME SOUND LOOOOOL" was constantly switching from HD Stereo to Mono, if that makes any sense.

I have an extended warranty through the store it was purchased at, so I decided to stop by today. They told me to call their tech support hotline, and HP.

Anyone have any idea what HP will do? :/ Will they replace it, or give me a refund? Also, what will happen to the files on my hard drive? I don't have much on there, but I do have some photos and documents.

Anyone? :/ I'm desperate. I know I sound impatient (because I'm calling HP TODAY), but I'd really like some answers so I know what to expect.
