HTML is basically the code you use to create a website. It's a series of commands that specify what should be displayed on a webpage, like the <b></b> command means that any text between those two tags will be bolded. A great place to learn HTML is HTML Goodies. It gives a good explanation of what HTML is, and how to use it properly. The program that most people use to type up HTML is Notepad, which comes with most (if not all) Microsoft computers.

Re: The Bombers Projects

ALttP MINE!

Edit: That was just to make sure I got it quickly before anyone typed something longer, but to the same effect. Whatever it is, I'll cover ALttP.

Second Edit: I'll probably do a walkthrough as well. I think some of you would enjoy learning of the various tactics I use in my speedruns. Hm... Finally, a reason for me to get back into doing those. Haven't done one in... Three or four months? Maybe even longer... THAT DOES NOT MEAN I AM NOT THE MASTER!

If you guys have any more questions about HTML and/or want to learn it in detail (it's unnecessary, but it sure would be helpful to Lem if you knew it), just PM me or catch me in the chat and I'll be sure to explain it to you.

Hear hear!

The one thing ZU has always been lacking is text dumps. It would be wise to ask around if we can host already existing text dumps since the content is basically always the same, the only differences lie in formatting.

andi, could you fill us in with the basics by posting in this thread instead of explaining it to everyone separately? I'm sure many of us are not familiar with HTML, including me. It would surely help out a lot!

Just go to HTML Goodies, that's where I learnt HTML from. It's quick and easy.

Uhm and yeah, help on html would be nice. But as I don't have time to learn it from the ground up, just the basics would be fine.

Ha ha! Large ammounts of disposable income + Dreamweaver skillz = no HTML worries pour moi. Have fun in the stone age kiddies =P

Anyway, I'm finding that most if not all of the OoA section images are perfectly suited to their roles, so I'm maintaining all the current pics. Should save both me and the Web Master a heap of trouble... if that's cool?

You are replacing them. LoZ does have "nice" sections but I would like great sections, which I am sure all of you are capable of. Of course if you feel the section is not needed to be replaced then don't replace it. That is your choice.

HTML format? Just look at Andi's post. It explains it quite well.

Also, I'm not sure a "reasonable" amount of time is the same for everyone. For me, this whole article voting thing blazed by while I was taking exams, and I haven't had time to read through them all and comment like I still intend to. Perhaps you could specify how long is too long. Maybe a month of inactivty on the project could determine a "verbal" warning, just so nobody is surprised(mostly myself).
I believe too long would be about a month, yes. It's honestly when I feel you have stopped caring about it but I trust you guys so I'm not really worrying about it much. As for the article voting, you don't have to vote in every single thread if you don't have time. It will stay at a week for now. I think that is plenty of time to vote in the threads and if you don't have time, that's fine. There's always next week.

Well, as I said, if you would like to add some sections, that is your choice. If you do not want to have to get the text dumps yourself, go get permission from someone on ZU to use it. That is your responsibility. The same goes for walkthroughs if you'd like to add/change/update those.

And an update on who has what:

Re: The Bombers Projects

I plan on writing a walktrough for OoT, but that might take a bit more then a month, so can I do the other sections and then add the walktrough section later on?

Re: The Bombers Projects

Alright, so I have a question. Would it be alright if I made my walkthrough in smaller sections and then sent them to you, Lem? I mean, ALttP is a pretty large game, even for me. If that's the case, I could probably get a decent Light World walkthrough to you by Wednesday, or even tonight if I really worked hard.

Edit: Minor complication with enemies. I cannot recall the name of those little critters on Death Mountain, and I was unable to find it on the Zelda website. Not that anything they say is actually true, though... So, anyway, would that mean I can give them a name if I can't come up with any canonical name in my research?

Edit: Ah, found the name. They are called Deadrocks. They are not called squirrels. They are not called Gorons. They are called Deadrocks. And, yes, there is in fact a way to kill them.

Re: The Bombers Projects

I feel obligated to inform you all, Lems especially, that the various projects I'm working on will take time, as I'm currently coming towards end of year exams. Lots of essays and study to get done. I'll be gradually working on my Bomber projects, but it will be slow, and so I ask only that you be patient. Many thanks.

EDIT: Master: I, too, know how to destroy Deadrocks.

Re: The Bombers Projects

Same here. I noticed that the activity in the bombers forum has been very low these days, I suppose everyone is working on the project. I'm also quite busy and I'm currently on the "D" letter of the enemies section of OoT. <.< Getting the heart pieces and the characters done I'll be half way trough.

@Master of ALttP - You throw magic dust on them? Place bombs?
