Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
Alright, we'll sticky them. I just hate too many stickies because it pushes attention away from the more important threads (such as the Newbies' Guide.)

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
Had a better idea. Put a Link in your signature and everytime you update the journal (if you have one) you can make a new post. Either way, it's mostly there for reference, no? So if you just keep it in your signature people can easily access it. And if you want it bumped up just post a new journal entry.

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
So we would be allowed to double post with for example "Updated dd.mm.yyyy" or something like that?

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
Yeah, double posting is okay. I don't care too much about it in your journals. Elsewhere, yes, but in your journals it's okay. No one cares about post numbers anymore anyway.

EDIT: lol I have the feeling that we're all typing at the same time and almost push the Submit button all at the same time.

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
A question about the voting system: Let's say I want article X to appear on the front page, but I want article Y to appear before article X does. If I vote for "no" on article X, the vote will be there forever and when the time comes some other article might have more "yes" votes to it. And in the worst scenario, many people follow the same pattern and the article is never released. What should I do?

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
Well, that's one way. I'm not sure have I got this right, does voting "no" mean that I don't want the article to ever appear on the front page? What we could do, is vote yes on all articles we want to appear on the front page and then discuss the order they should be released in. In any case I'd like to talk about the order of release with my fellow bombers before posting anything on the front page, since all this is still very new to us.

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
Agreed. But I don't think those votes are just for the main page article... We might want to do a 24h poll on the best article before it's supposed to be posted or something... I mean as a member of the bombers we are supposed to read and follow the other people's articles posted in here so we should be able to vote accordingly.

Anyways, I don't see any reason why Lems would not permit us to hand pick a few of the first articles. The whole point is that we choose the ones that get posted. |

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
Well either way it is us who chose it. We just need to develop a working system to do so.

Re: Newbies' Guide to The Bombers
If you vote no, it evens out the yes votes and cancels them out. If there is two yes and two no then there is no votes on that article at all. I think the best thing you can do is post in the thread that you'd like to change your vote or perhaps PM me about it. I will have to address this issue later. Also, I'm planning on setting up a theory discussion thread where you guys can discuss the current theories on the board and which ones are your favorites and I will judge what will get on the front page from that too.
Also, if you like a theory but you don't want it on the front page at that moment, just ignore it and vote for it the next week instead and then try to push it up to the top. |
