LORD DEAGRA’S ZELDA TIMELINE THEORY

Zelda timelines are a strange thing. Our series is excellent because it is the only series that can have a fan-made timeline. It seems law for a zelda fan to make one, so I thought, why not?

1)------ INTRODUCTION
Aw yes, the boring Introduction chapter. This entry for “The Bombers” (best zelda group idea ever!) focuses on the timeline. Timelines are hard to make, but I did my best. I have played and beaten every zelda with the exception of the Cd-I games, the Game&Watch zelda, BS-X zelda, and the “Four Swords” that came with the ALTTP remake.

I don’t think you need to know this, but these are the zelda game abreviations (did I spell that right?)

I will use a linear timeline, and the above games all count towards it. Yes, I count the FS games.

2)------The Timeline, of Old Hyrule
I have split the Timeline into two parts: Old Hyrule and New Hyrule. I do not think I have to explain the “Nayru,Farore,and Din create the world and the Triforce” thing, do I? I hope not.
Moving on to the timeline:

PART 1:LOZ,AOL,OOX,AND LA
Some may find it strange to start a timeline with LOZ. But I find it fits best. We know from the begining that an evil being named “Ganon” has stolen the Triforce of Power, in an attempt to get the Triforce of Wisdom, He stole Princess Zelda. But she broke it into pieces. Wich Impa ordered Link to gather. Now, because of the Triforce’s divine power, Ganon’s minons have likely wiped out or burned any town that might have once been there.In the end, Link slayed Ganon and completed the Triforce of Wisdom, and took the Triforce of Power of Ganon. LOZ takes place in Southern Hyrule.

This is a map I found that details the hyrule in the first and second zelda’s. I think it works.. Notice the water? I think the Goddesses were already planning the great flood at this point. Perhaps they saw the future or something (Nayru’s oracle was the oracle of ages, so its possible Nayru was a goddess of time)

Now, Ganon was killed but his minions were still alive. This began the AOL. We know that AOL is a direct sequel to the LOZ. So, in order to rid Hyrule of Ganon’s minons once and for all, Link must find the Triforce of Courage in the Great Palace. But the path to the Great Palace is sealed off, used to protect the sacred relic of courage in ages past. Link must place the six crystals (given to him by Impa) in the six statues that lie in six diffrent palaces in hyrule. Eventually, link defeated the guardian “Thunderbird” and slayed his own shadow. He took the triforce of courage and had victory. The Three Triforces where put in Hyrule Castle, and Link was instructed with protecting hyrule from any threats. Now, you may wonder why there are no Zora,Gorons,Korkiri or any other races. Its simple: They were not allies at the time. In OOT it sais something about a Hyrulian Civil War, we can guess it was a war beetween the races of hyrule. I lean toward the Hyrulian civil war, but another theory is that the increasing levels of water wiped out the Gorons (who cannot swim) and the Zora were able to spend most of there time around water.

Next up, OOX! This timeline keeps getting odder, eh? in the begining we see Link riding a horse to Hyrule Castle to check on the Triforce (wich is now complete) we know that the Triforce is divine, so it has mystical powers. It sent link to Either Holodrum (in OOS) or Labrynna (in OOA) (we do not know wich one he went to first, it could be either one. But after he saved one, he had to go to the other)
The Triforce sent link to these lands because trouble was stirring. Link was a royal guard, so he had no need of training for his blade. We know that the ultimate plot behind OOX was that Ganon is going to be ressurected by use of the “Flames of Sorrow,Destruction, and Despair” and Koume,Kotake,Onox,and Veran where the masterminds of it all. This is obviously an easier way to ressurect Ganon than by using Link’s blood. So, Koume and Kotake sent Veran to Labrynna. She kidnapped the Oracle of Ages and messed up time to bring sorrow to Labrynna. Meanwhile, Onox kidnapped the Oracle of Seasons and messed up the seasons to bring destruction to Holodrum. When link slayed both Onox and Veran (but they lived long enough so that the flames where lit) Koume and Kotake took Zelda to the Room of Rites to be sacrificed, thus lighting the flame of despair and a ressurected Ganon. But Zelda was saved, Koume and Kotake had to sacrifice themselves instead. But because it was not the right person, it brought back a mindless, raging Ganon. Who thankfully did not last long. It was obvious that the reasons monsters roam Holodrum and Labrynna was because they were not free of Ganon’s cruel grasp. The Races of the two lands where at peace as well. Onox and Veran chose these lands because Hyrule would not be expecting it, and with Ganon ressurected they would expect Link dead (thus loosing hope)

However, though Link completed the task he was given by the Triforce, the Triforce did not send him back to his home in Hyrule. He attempted to sail across the sea to get there. However, I can guess that at this time MOST Hyrule is already flooded. Thus explaning why he did not reach it. Eventually he got knocked out and dreamed of Koholint Island. Because Koholint was a dream, the events that happened there do not count toward the timeline. Also, the races of Hyrule are at peace at Hyrule during the next game, and the continent we explore in OOT is all thats left of the mostly drownded Hyrule.

PART 2:OOT&MM

Thus begining Ocarina of Time! Link II is a Hylian raised as a Korkiri. Now, in the past games I listed in my timeline, Ganon is in pig form. But in this one, he is a gerudo. How does this work? well....
In FSA Zelda calles Ganon a “An ancient demon reborn” so Ganon is demonic. However, she said “AN ancient demon reborn” so it is POSSIBLE that there is multiple Ganons! Ganon has a diffrent backstory in each game, so it can get confusing. What I think is that “Ganon” is what Hylians call a demon. despite an occaisonall trident or cape here and there, Ganon is usually a pig man. So, too make it simple, there are diffrent demons, but Hylians all call them “Ganon” Now, we have seen in some cases instances where Ganondorf turns into Ganon. It is possible he used his power given to him by the Triforce of Power. In FSA, a gerudo man (Ganondorf II) took the Mirror of Darkness and Trident of Power. The Forsaken magic in the Mirror of Darkness turned him into Ganon, and he used the Trident of Power as a weapon. It is possible the trident Ganon used in ALTTP is the same used in FSA.

Anyway, back to OOT’s plot, Link was destined to find the three spirtual stones and enter the Temple of Time to find the Master Sword. When he did, he opened a portal into the Sacred Realm. Ganondorf used the portal to enter the sacred realm. When link awoke, he found himself years older and that Hyrule was in peril. He had to awaken the Seven Sages in order to defeat Ganondorf (and Ganon!) in his castle.

At the end, Zelda sends Link back in time after slaying Ganon. He was a child again. Now, how did this become legend? it is possible Link told the king of Hyrule his deeds.

I hate the ending of OOT. Did Link really save Hyrule? think about it, Ganon WAS sealed in the future, but link went back in time. So Ganon is not sealed. And if he never drew the master sword again, then how would the events happen again? ugh. So confusing....

Anywho, he oneday goes wandering in the Lost Woods (bad idea...) to look for the skull kid he played with in OOT. Once he stumbles upon a strange part of the woods, he see’s the Skullkid. But he is wearing the acursed Majora’s Mask. He soon found himself in Termina, another one of Hyrules diffrent lands. (even though this one seems to be unkown...) Link stopped a coming Apocalypse from Termina. I believe the Godesses where doing this to remove Termina (they where flooding Hyrule, soo...) and complete there plan of stopping the events that are explained in WW. Now, Zelda seems to know Link in this one. They met twice in OOT (child story only) once when they where in the courtyard (when Zelda told Link of his dream) and the one when they met by chance: Zelda ran out the castle gates with Ganondorf following her. So they know each other a LITTLE bit. The Final fate of Termina is unkown after the flodding of Hyrule.

OKAY! Lets take a look at the beautifull Timeline of OLD Hyrule:
LINK I:Loz,Aol,Oox,La.
LINK II:OOT,MM.

This begins the “New Hyrule” timeline. See it as to why I have a “Old Hyrule” and “New Hyrule”
MINOR NOTES:
--There is a reason that the villages in AOL are named after the sages of OOT. We (in Earth) have cities named after people, so Hyrule can too. I think that more than one person can have the name of Darunia or Saria, for example.
--Remember, Onox and Holodrum are in OOS. Veran and Labrynna are in OOA.



3)------ The Timeline, of New Hyrule.
PART 3:WW&PH
Well, “New Hyrule” has not been founded yet, but I put it here anyway. The Events of WW take place HUNDREDS of years after MM. Hyrule has been 100% flooded, and now various islands are all that remain of the glorious kingdom. The Legends say that Ganon returned (well, he was not actually sealed away... see part 2) and destroyed Hyrule Kingdom. Link never came back (because he was in Termina) so there was no saviour. Now, after the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER (rescued someone, infiltrated evil fortress, embarked on quest, etc) A boy (Link III) gets in a quest to slay the Dark Lord of the Forsaken Fortress (Ganondorf I) and rescue Tetra (who is technically Zelda III) Now, Ganondorf II has not yet been born. The Ganondorf in OOT and WW are the same. The Races of Hyrule have evolved as well: The Gerudo are extinct, The Gorons are almost extinct, The Korkiri have evolved into the “Korok” and The Zora have evolved into “Rito” . Got it? good. Link ends up drawing The Master Sword again (but the time is frozen when he draws it, so he did not go into the future by the time he took it out) except it was in Hyrule Castle, not The Temple of Time. I think that the People of Hyrule Castle kept it in that area so that Ganondorf could not destroy it. Eventually, The Triforce became whole (this happened near the end) and Ganondorf wanted to wish for something..... but the King of Hyrule got to the Triforce first. He wished so that Hyrule would remain flooded forever. So, the flood that covered Hyrule would never end. So there cannot be a “Post-Flood” Hyrule or something. So, at the end.. well... I spoiled enough about WW’s ending. We do not know much about PH, but I put it up there anyway. I AM GUESSING that the land they discover will ultimatley become “New Hyrule!” Now, we know that the Master Sword is STILL STUCK in Ganondorf’s head, so it is the last apearanc of The Master Sword.... but this leads me to tell you about something: A “Master Sword 2” Now, we still do not know much about PH so there is not much you can do to prove me wrong. So, Link is the king of “New Hyrule” (for a few years) and orders people to build a Second Master Sword. Then, the six maidens (who will apear in ALTTP) use there power to give the Master Sword is powers. Now remember, the six maidens are descendants from the sages. And The Two sages from WW are still alive, and giving the Master Sword 1 power. (too keep Ganondorf in stone) so they do not have descendants. Now, moving on to Link IV and Zelda IV.

PART 5:ALTTP

Agahnim comes into power and Kills the King of New Hyrule (who is NOT Link III at this point) he has a daughter, Zelda IV (Descendant of Zelda II, the seventh sage) who is about to be put into The “Dark World” wich is what happens when a certant demonic overlord finds a way into a place he always wanted to be and takes it over. Now, who is this demonic overlord? Ganon, of course! The King of Thieves, Ganondorf II, takes one of the Triforces and that makes his hatred,envy,and fear turn into flesh. bringing Ganon back. I am guessing the Gerudo turned into some of the monsters that live in the dark world (explaning why there are no Gerudo in the following games in the timeline) also, the Gorons are still to small in population to be fully back in gear, and the Rito and Korok are still living on there islands. Got it? good. So that explains why they are not in ALTTP.

Okay, there is something I want to put here, in the remake for ALTTP you enter the “Palace of the Four Sword” witch is a bonus dungeon. In a way, it may explain the origins of the Four Sword. When Link enters the palace, his goal is too find the green,red,blue,and purple swords. He then fights the dark links... and the four coloured swords become one. This makes “The Four Sword” now we know that the Four Sword is one when it is in its pedestal, but the four sword is four diffrent swords (with the same name....) when tooken out. In TMC, we saw that the sword only created holigrams (and only when certant conditions where met) it is possible that the Shrine Maidens (the second descendants of the sages from OOT) could make the Four Sword more powerfull. That is what I think. It made link more heroic: he killed the present evil, and (unkowingly) made a weapon that would help against a future evil. It is possible that when Ganon was defeated in the Dark World, the foursword got transported into Hyrule Castle. Thus, the events of TMC begin. As a final thing to add to ALTTP, Link put the Mastersword back in the Lost woods. Thus explaning why it was back in the lost woods again in TP.

NOTE:The "Imprisoning War" is the battle explained at the prologue of ALTTP.

6)TMC

The first FOURSWORDS game. Yes, I am not a beliver of the Fourswords games to be part of a alternative dimension. Anywho, I think there is a game or story that takes place before here. A story that involves a hero of hyrule... who is a minish! No, Link V is not a minish. He just turned there size. That’s all. Why? because Ezlo has the cap of the hero. Now, the cap that turns Vatii into the size of a hylian looks like a gnat hat. So, it is possible Ezlo was once a hylian, but that cap turned him into minish-size (... and apearance...) he then used magical powers to tamper with the hat, making it do the opossite of what it is supposed to do. But he enjoyed his life as a minish, and never used it. But Vatii did. So really, Ezlo is Link V. But because I do not want to confuse you, I will not call him Link V. I will call him Ezlo. I will call the Link in TMC Link V. Got it? good. Now I explained a few things about this game in the above section (ALTTP) so read that. The Four Elements are proably other divine gifts (made by the godesses) that where not used in past games. Got it? good. Now, near the end of the game Vatii turns into the eyeball guy we know and love. At the end of the game, he gets sealed within the blade. But he is still in his eyeball form. So there. Also, I am guessing that the Triforce from ALTTP got scattered somehow (leaning toward the another story thing again) and forgotten. The Triforce of Wisdom is the “Light Force” in TMC. Got it? good. (Thus explaning why the light force flowed through Princess Zelda V.)



7)FS&FSA

The Shrine Maidens where put in charge of keeping the Foursword safe. There magic made it more powerfull as well. So the clones that the Foursword made were not holograms... they had flesh. They where REAL! now, the Shrine Maidens do not apear in FS, but I think they are in the background. FSA takes place, like, a small number of years after FS takes place. Now, Vatii manages to break his seal. When he awakens, he sees a beautifull maiden awaits his return... Princess Zelda VI! Vatii (now a demon) found Zelda very beautfull, and went to his palace in sky to call for a wedding. Link VI (the sixth link... imagine!) takes the all-powerfull Foursword that split him in four. With the power of himself and his three clones, he gained the favour of the great fairies. Who eventually granted them passage into Vatii’s floating palace. He infiltrated the palace and defeated Vatii, and rescued Zelda VI. Okay..... was she in life-threatning danger this time? really? aw well.

The Next game starts off the same way, Zelda senses weakness in the Foursword and checks on the seal. But something is happening in the background here: Ganondorf the IV takes the Trident of Power and the Mirror of Darkness. I belive the Mirror of Darkness is a remaining power of the Twili from TP. Perhaps a magic object. Anywho, It transformed Ganondrof the IV into Ganon. Now, Ganon and Vatii teamed up. Think about it: Ganon is the king of evil. Vatii is evil. 2+2 toghether, and Vatii becomes the second-in-cammand (simmilar to Veran,Onox,Koume,and Kotake from OOX) and Ganon is the leader. The main reason a stubborn person like Vatii would ally with Ganon is because he proably heard about Ganon’s deeds in the past. Anywho.... the shrine maidens are kidnapped (real original... you could just kidnap LINK you know, Ganon) and Link sets off to save them. Eventually, Link defeats Vatii and then descovers Ganon. After he imprisons Ganon in the foursword (Vatii is actually KILLED this time, not imprisoned. The foursword must of got super-strong or something.) Alright, the last part!

NOTE:The Gerudo met here are ones who did not follow in Ganondorf's steps and follow him to the dark world. But another male gerudo had to be born eventually....

8)TP
There are a couple of reasons as to why this is here. The Master Sword (2) is in it, found in the lost woods. I would like to explain it further, but I do not want to ruin the Best,Biggest,and Newest Zelda Game. I forgot if only the judges check this out, or if everyone checks it out. But I DO have reasons as to why this is here. Here are some (not trying to spoil things...):
1:The Gorons have finally come back (they have enough people know) and name Mt.Crenel (from TMC) after there once ancestral homeland, Deathmoutain. They also choose that place as there home. Some Zora (who are not fully evolved) go to the New Hyrule Lake and make it there home. The Zuna (From FSA) are possibly descendants of the Twili. Before the Twili where banished, they built the pyramids and created various artifacts of evil power. One was the Mirror of Twilight, the Trident of Power, the Mirror of Darkness, and presumably others.
2:The sages in TP are proably the ghosts of the original. After all, many ghosts linger in the Arbitier's grounds. Also, the desert is immense and not all of it is explored.

2. When and how did the royal family obtain the Triforce prior to LoZ? Why isn’t it still in the Sacred Realm, where we know it to be in OoT, placed there by the goddesses?

4. Why is OoX Link the same as LoZ/AoL Link?—he doesn’t appear to know either Princess Zelda or Impa.
5. Does the Master Sword factor into the story of OoX?
6. Why is LA Link the same as LoZ/AoL/OoX Link?
7. What prophecy did he fulfill when he defeated Ganon?
8. Where is the Triforce mark on his left hand?
