It's no longer about the timeline, but the individual little aspects of each game. Sure some people get a kick out of that (me included, but only if I like the topic being discussed), but many people just like to discuss the timeline as a whole, where the games should be placed in relation to each other. That used to happen all the time here at ZU, but not any more. I've found myself posting less and less these last few weeks at ZU. Why? Because it's getting boring. We need some newbie theorists to come here with their wacky timelines so that we can get some real discussion going again, good discussion that is enjoyable, just like how it was. I've even resorted to spending more and more time at LA and GameFAQs just to have a decent debate with someone. I think the main cause of this is that everyone now believes in mostly the same timeline, but with some differences here and there, but even these have been discussed to death. Another thing is Blue Swamp. Before we knew that the timeline was split, ZU used to be one of the most active timeline communities on the net, I could barely keep up with the amount of great topics that I wanted to post in. But now we know too much, and we have nothing to discuss, save for minor discrepencies, and that isn't everyone's cup of tea. And even when we do get a newbie with a rather "out-there" timeline, they are immediately silenced with a developer quote. Developer quotes killed theorizing. They have revealed too much to us, they have taken away too much of the mystery behind the timeline. The theorizing community was much better before there were all these developer quotes, and before people started using them as evidence. That's why I'm putting forth an idea. Screw developer quotes. Screw what Aonuma and Miyamoto think. Just build your timeline and other theories from in-game evidence, no outside sources, just what information the games give you. Things were so much better when people did this, and as you can see lately, many people throughout the forum desire it to be like that again. If you really want it to be like that, ignore developer quotes. Go with the timeline you can build from in-game evidence alone, and make theorizing fun like it once was. 17/04/07 - Added a new section, and have begun work on ideas in said section.
You should probably know that most of my work will be articles, as they won't really be a new theory, just explaining in detail things that are already established fact. |

I'm now currently working on redoing the TMC and TP sections of ZU (if you don't know what I'm talking about, see the "Bombers Projects" sticky thread).
