Favorite Star Wars film

I liked Return of the Jedi. Probably because of the payoff.

There's plenty of reasons to hate on the prequels, but that was just stupid. The original trilogy has just as many ridiculous sequences like that.

Yoda vs. Sidious was fine, particularly since a lot of it isn't even a lightsaber duel. The other two I can see your point with, though.

Hands down The Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars film. I <3 it!
I can watch it over and over and never get tired of it. It is hilarious and exciting.

The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite. It's got a good script, the best acting in the series, a lot of humor, great music and one of the best plot twists in any movie. The Darth Vader vs. Luke duel is very good as well.

I just love how there really is no beginning and no end. Middle movies have that feel to them, know what I'm sayin'? The journey is heating up but it's not over yet =D
And Ashanark is right, it is the one with the twist that people are STILL talking about. Amazing film, really.
And there are no Ewoks, so yeah, it's awesome.

He's pointing out the gap in your logic.

A New Hope is still a good movie that is largely humped by those who have seen it. If you're someone like me, though, who finds it overrated, then I guess we can end this since we agree.

Return of the Jedi was the best, imo. Very emotional and powerful. The moment Vader lifted Palpatine up and tossed him down the shaft was amazing. But I can only watch the latest version of Return of the Jedi. I HATED the ending to the original.. Stupid Ewok song. Errrg

After that I would pick Attack of the Clones. I'm a sucker for over the top romance and I just thought it was a fun adventure that had one of the best finales in the whole series. From the arena battle, to the Jedi vs Droids battle, the start of the Clone Wars and of course the lightsaber battle between Yoda and Dooku.

Then I'd pick Empire Strikes Back, The Phantom Menace and A New Hope.

Anyone who doesn't like it is insane. It shows a galaxy in celebration. Much more effective than the cast members just dancing with teddy bears.

It wasn't needed but I thought it was a nice touch.. Considering Anakin dies in spirit in Revenge of the Sith. So seeing him as ANAKIN and not some old guy no one knows was a good idea to me.

Obviously Anakin was always inside Vader, but Vader only reflects the dark half of Anakin.

Which is why Obi wan says Vader killed Anakin. In a way, he was telling the truth. ~From a certain point of view~

I'm well aware that everyone has a good side and bad side. I'm just saying, Vader represents Anakin's bad side. In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin in a way dies in that Vader consumes his every decision.

When Anakin becomes one with the force, he appears as he did when he was in control over his darker half. Which is why I liked the idea of Hayden being in that last shot instead of Shaw.
