National Treasure Trilogy

OMG, these movies are awesome. I can't wait for the third one to come out!

Who's seen National Treasure and National Treasure 2? They're about a treasure hunter guy named Ben Gates. It was so cool and it teaches you a little history stuff. My government class in school watched the first one and we're working on the second. Clues to finding a treasure is basically a mystery and I love a good mystery. I liked Riley in the movie best though. He was funny and said all kinds of hilarious smart aleck remarks. XD

The action and stuff was great though, mainly on the bad guys chasing after Gates, Riley, and Abigail all the time.

So, who knows when National Treasure 3 comes out? Cuz I have no idea. ._.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

I dunno, so far I'm getting more into the second. In the first one, Gates was trying to find a treasure he dreamed of finding for years, which was indeed very cool. Now in the second, he's trying to find a treasure to clear the name of his ancestor, Thomas Gates, who was convicted of having something to do with President Lincoln's assassination. Now THAT is fascinating!

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

Second was way way way too predictable. AND the baddie turned good and sacrificed himself. That's lame. I want to see cool fights go on.

First was better, in my opinion. I really don't know if I'll see the third, probably. The two out right now are still pretty good.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

These movies are pretty ok. I don't think I've seen the start of the second one, but I enjoyed both of them (though it has been awhile since the first). While certainly the leaps they take with historical information are pretty far-out, the basis of them are fun for a history student like myself.

It's also a good vehicle for Nick Cage, he gets to be the action star that he somehow managed to become, but get to be at least a little quippy while he was at it.

Really, I wasn't expecting much from these movies, but they are some solid entertainment.

Hey, don't spoil it for me, Hyrule! I haven't seen all of the second movie yet! >_>

So far, I'm liking the second better anyway though.

Bah, complex villains with self-justified motivations are infinitely superior to evil-for-the-sake-of-evil villains who like to twirl their mustaches and laugh evilly.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

Sorry, Ranil. I was under the assumption that you'd just finished it.

But Galedeep! Really really evil guys are cool! I mean, I agree that they're better than villains who are villains just for the sake of being evil. It's still pretty lame though. I guess it's a personal preference.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

The only villains who can really get away with being 'pure' evil are ones that aren't human in some way. Even then some work better when they honestly believe that what they are doing is the best/their only option/whatever.

I actually thought that the villain in the second National Treasure movie was really really good in that sense, because even up until the end he was just desperate to get the credit for the find, but when the chips were really and seriously down he couldn't go through with it, he had to do the 'good' thing. It adds so much more to the character and completely changes the outcome of the movie because to protagonist's success had such a price.

I actually thought it was one of the better and well-executed 'turns' in recent movie history

Trilogy? There's a third one coming out?! SWEAT!

These movies are awesome. I even got extra credit in American History for seeing the second one last year. Riley is hilarious.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

Second movie copied from the first movie way too much. As previously stated, the second movie was even predictable. First one was excellent.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

These are some of my favorite movies, they are the kind of movie I can watch over and over again. The first was awesome and so was the second, I think they did just aswell. I just wonder what the third one will be about.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

I thought both movies were great. Not sure which one I like better, but I do know both are the type of movie I can easily sit down and watch. Though I am unsure about alot of the historical accuracy(not much of a history buff) but they present it in such away that its believable. One of these days though, I think I might look into the accuracy.

Are there any plans for a third? If so, I wonder what it will be about.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

IMDB does not lie.

National Treasure 3 (2010)

No information yet, just the confirmation about it being made. I like how they are working on them with time and patience. There is a 3 year difference in each movie. National Treasure 1 (2004) National Treasure 2 (2007) National Treasure 3 (2010)

So at least they're taking they're time.

Re: National Treasure Trilogy

Oh yes, indeed. It's good to know that there are moviemakers who take time to make the sequels to movies very good like the first ones. ;D

TotG: Oh agreed, man! Riley was the most hilarious thing about the movies. XD
