METALLICA vs MEGADETH

Who is better? Does Metallica own Megadeth? Or does Megadeth rule?

Who has better giutar riffs?
Who has better vocals?
Who has better songs?

They are both the same, and they both suck. True story.

Metallica FTW i dont care if theyre new stuff is crap the old stuff was amazing (and still is)

They both suck, but Megadeth has a better back catalogue of material (four or five decent-to-good albums as opposed to Metallica's one or two), and Megadeth haven't been quite as bad as Metallica in recent years.

Megadeth owns in talent, creativity, and being an all around decent band.

Metallica just "OMG I C4n sOlO in P3n747Onic scale"

All good metallica songs were written by mister mustaine.

First album with minimal mustaine influence would be justice.

Oh and hypno_toad we get that you dont like metal already.

Technically, black holes don't "suck." Their immense gravitational fields pull objects toward them. But that's besides the point, I'm sure you like plenty of bands that I think are ****ty.

But some of the other posts, including mine, shared Sea's opinion of "they both suck."

Metallica are better than Megadeth, but both have good songs. Megadeth just have more copious amounts of crap.

And AC/DC use all of like three chords and every song sounds the same on some albums, but this doesn't necessarily make them bad because at least they've stayed consistent (read: listenable). Which is more than can be said for Metallica or Megadeth.

I like Metallica and AC/DC (AC/DC more), therefore, every opinion in here is wrong.

I'd include you, but you just said they suck. If you share sea's viewpoint, I exclude you!

Wait, what?

I hate the fact that it says "They both rule" on the poll, since I'm the only one who chose that one.

I find both more than decent, but not the best. A lot of their songs are pretty awesome, but in the end they prove to be... well... generic, if that's what you call it.

AC/DC is interesting. While their progressions are very simple they're very tight and they jump seamlessly from progression to solo to progression, unlike Metallica and Megadeath which chug along, making awkward shifts countless times in every song. Not to mention, the quality of certian AC/DC lyrics (Big Balls is a good example) far out due the boring and repetitive musings of even the best Metallica/Megadeath song. (The only exception may be One by Metallica, though this song was inspired by a much better book, Johnny Got His Gun.)

I'm not one for much metal, though. I guess my favorite metal band would be D.R.I. Would you consider them metal? They're thrashcore, so maybe somewhere in between hardcore and metal....

I prefer Metallica over Megadeth, but that's more because of Mustaine's voice then Metallica having better songs and for the record "Mechanix"> "Four Horsemen"

Megadeth is all-around more talented, they kill Metallica in guitar talent because Kirk Hamett is a show-off who either taps random solos or just doesn't even try. James Hetfield has a better voice than Dave Mustaine, but I still think Mustaine's voice fits the style. (at least in the studio) Live he sucks. Metallica's drummer doesn't seem that great to me, and their bassist? Well, they used to have a good one...
I like Megadeth's songs better too. They're fast and pretty heavy and I just enjoy having my face melted off. Metallica sucks for selling out too.
So in my opinion Megadeth is way better, and I'm kind of surprised we haven't had tons of Metallica fans in here killing people for saying they suck...
