Re: The Evil Dead series 1,2, and The Army of Darkness

I love the Evil Dead series. I watched the first one when I was around 8 or 9, and remember being terrified of it! It wasn't until later that I started to see the hilarity of the over-the-top gore and cheesy acting. I'm really glad the sequels kept with that theme of tongue in cheek horror, really bad (yet brilliant) dialogue and generally terrible looking special effects. Bruce Campbell really made those movies, and I'm glad the team of both he and Sam Raimi remained throughout the series. I was really impressed to see Raimi go from the desperately low-budget Evil Dead all the way to the top in recent years with movies such as Spider-Man.

Hail to the king, baby.

^ Well put. and I completely agree about Raimi. Have you seen any other Bruce Campbell movies?
Man with the Screaming Brain?
Alien Apocalypse?

The evil dead series is amazing. Not to mention horribly made, but all adds to the deliciousness of the films.

lavvy actually features boomstick awards. And I always shop smart, shop "s" smart.

While I haven't seen as many other Campbell performances as I'd have liked, I have seen several cameos in various movies and TV shows which never fail to make me chuckle.

The other main role I have seen him in that really comes to mind is in the movie Bubba Ho-tep, where he plays "Elvis" in an old folks home that gets cursed by an Egyptian mummy. Hilarious movie.
