Re: Batman movie series.

Well, he DOES seem to look batter and better every time. Maybe it won't be such a bomb after all. I still think Nicholson will ALWAYS be the best Joker, but this is turning to a decent point.
I'm going to go see "I Am Legend" in theatres this Friday. From what I've heard, a new trailer will be shown. I'll keep you updated when I see it.

Re: Batman movie series.

I wasn't that impressed with Jack's Joker, I mean, its not bad or anything. But compared to the cartoon's Joker... eh, he's kinda lame.

The new Joker looks awesome, very Batman Begins-ish.

Re: Batman movie series.

Sounds to me like Heath Ledger is doing his best Jack Nicholson impression, but again, maybe that's just me.

What? I didn't get that impression at all. Heath Legder actually seems to play the role of the Joker, while Nicholson was only himself in his role as the Joker.

Re: Batman movie series.

This was a HARD desision. After seeing the trailer this morning, I voted Heath. But....... Heath has to try to act scary. Jack Nicholson, is already scary. To me he'll always be the Joker, but we'll see the movie next year and see how Heath can do it.

SO AWESOME!!!!

SURPRISE!
YouTube - Batman - The Dark Knight Trailer HD
This was on whats-his-face's thread. It's most likely to be locked because I have this, but I put it up here was well with better quality. Looks amaaaazing. Heath's scary there: "Let's put a smile on that face". I still recall those times of Nicholson's quotes.
"But like my plastic surgeon once said:'If ya gotta go: do it with a smile!'"
Familiar, no?
And Kee, I love that siggy. The kinda thing you'd put on Halloween, but still impressive.

Te guy from "Thank you for Smoking" will play Harvey Dent.

It was rumored that The Scare Crow would be back, as he just ran off in the last one.

Anyway Ledger looks like he'll make a good Joker.
Nicholson did a solid job back in the day, he is still a great actor.

Yes, I knew Harvey Dent was gonna be in the movie, but that doesn't mean that Two-Face will be, you know? Don't spoil me, though.

Re: Batman movie series.

That trailer is decent. Looks like Ledger may surprise me with a more than acceptable take on Joker, but will he exceed Nicholson?

I'd have to see it to believe it....

Sorry if I offend, but those of you who say things like this don't really know how the Joker is.

Re: Batman movie series.

Actually, you're likely quite right. My earliest memory of Batman was the Tim Burton vision, before seeing the old series, the cartoon and the comic books. Jack Nicholson is Joker for me, but whether he is the truest to the original is more than up for debate.

None taken. To be honest, this might as well not be as the Joker would be like origionally "perfect", but the changes into the character in that film was what made it so good. Sometimes you have to twist thisgs around to make it better (Tim Burton)...or worse (Joel Schumacher). Nolan actally happens to be putting the freanchise where it BELONGS, yet Nicholson's adaptation to the character kept it entertaining.

I feel that way about Burton's films as a whole. While they may not be the truest to the comic, I loved Burton's vision. Batman Begins may be the closest thing to what Batman is (though, Ras Al Gul is all wrong, and the whole "Nice Coat" line that comes directly after the "I'm Batman" line belongs in B&R and ruined the whole scene), but Batman and Batman Returns, in my opinion, are far more enjoyable movies. Though, I'll admit, it is lame how much Batman played second fiddle to the villains.

Then again, I just didn't enjoy Begins that much at all. Maybe that's because I like excitement and memorable scenes in my movies.
