Green Day New Album?

I think there's plenty of room for thoughtful discussion about their new album.

However, one can criticize without insults... Goes for regular posts too.

They whine too much , I dislike their left wing politics , it annoys me that they only know 3 power chords , repetitive and why todays music industry is flooded with talentless hacks , because retarded teens will buy to try and prove some stupid point , idiots.

The Captain and I took heed of this, we said we disliked them, then gave very detailed, informative reasons as to why, so we did everything you asked. It's not our fault your asked for comments about the band, then did not get what you deserved. Acting bratty and refusing to accept the opinions of others is what is truely pathetic in this thread.

Greenday is not Punk music - and it's laughable how Skateboarders and Co. use it as an anthem to parade around just how "punky" they are, when the fact is that Greenday are barely more identifiable than glorified Pop-Rock.

That said, I didn't mind their much older stuff, the thing that triggered my eternal disgust for them was the "American Idiot" album. Seriously, almost all of the songs on it sound exactly the same, probably all the songs used practically identical power chords. Billy Joe's voice is simply the single most irritating, pathetic, whiney excuse for a human noise I've heard (far more than Axl Rose, Captain).
His horrible nasal, monotonous moaning make me want to do horrible things to myself to block myself from being subjected to that pathetic attempt he does at 'singing.'

It's nothing but immature, laughable antics. I, myself, am a very left-wing individual, and trust me when I tell you all, all these 'protest songs' seem simply nothing more than failed attempts to look 'cool and cause-worthy' to sell their fad.

You should feel free to always enjoy whatever makes you happy, and always feel free to express that.

Green Day is way to political with thier music. Back in the day when they first started they were much better (days of dookie) but now they have reached an all time low in my book. In thier lyrics they can sometimes be very contradictary and makes me pissed off. Forget thier new cd and go get Linkin Park's new CD instead.

Also might I say Green Day was never punk. Punk has died awhile ago. All punk trully was was a genre that rebelled against the traditional way of music. Today's punk are just people who wear tight leather pants and are too concerned about what they will hate today.

Green Day needs to go listen to all their Pre Insomniac stuff. Realize that its the best stuff they've ever recorded... then improve on that. I want more songs like Longview, Welcome To Paradise, and Brain Stew. (Yes I realize that Brain Stew is off Insomniac.)

Basically... Green Day is way, way too poppy. They should at least attempt to sound just a little bit punk.

But as long as they never sound like Fallout Boy or any of those new awful Pop-Punk bands I think they'll do alright.

Didn't I metion that they were good back in the day? Ummm, reread my former post. I did say they were pretty good with Dookie and the such.

I wasn't really responding to your post. I haven't really said what I think they ought to do for there next album yet. So I thought I would.

I like their old stuff as well as new. But that's not what this thread is about. I meant it as not posting unless it has something to do with a new album by them. You can say your opinions but a lot of you just said you dislike them. I want to know about a new album, not how much you don't want to hear them if they make a new one.

I'm unsubscribing from this, few are even talking about the true topic. A mod can close this or whatever.
