Halloween 9 finally has a director!

H9 will have Rob Zombie as the director says recent reports. Zombie says the release date for "Halloween 9" will be October 2007. So, who's excitied about this news other than me?

I checked it out on the all-powerful imdb.com, and yes indeedy, they will be making another Halloween movie.

I personally think that the series should have ended with the untimely death of Moustapha Akkad (R.I.P.), but this film was planned on being made before he died. Since I am a huge fan of the original (and director John Carpenter), this comes as somewhat mixed news to me. Good in that it has been stated that the film will be a throwback to the classic, rather than a continuation of the series, but bad in the sense that Rob Zombie will be directing it. I suppose he has the chops, but looking back on his filmography, I'm afraid that it will be turned into a sensationalistic, silly gore-fest, rather than an honest-to-God attempt at recreating a slasher classic.

Guess we'll just have to see how it turns out. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.

Guess it will be a remake, since it's called just "Halloween" instead of "Halloween 9". Darn, suprisingly I wanted to see another add on movie, because Micheal Myers technically isen't dead. But, oh well, whatever we get will be good, just so long that's another Halloween film. Although, I hope this won't be the last one, because otherwise they'll be ending the series with Myers still alive. So, I propose they make this remake and one more final film to wrap up the long, beloved, series.
