Eragon Movie

That's it. I'm hyped. Spoilers:
Why does Arya have red hair?
Why does Zar`Roc have a sapphire instead of a ruby?
Why do Eragon and Murtagh not look alike?
Why is Saphira turqouise?
Why is Garrow ugly?
Too many questions and too little answers.

I refuse to wait till December. That's what I hate about it. So just... talk about it... I guess.

Re: Eragon Movie

Seems like they are cashing in on the franchise a bit. But as long as the movie is good then i'll be happy.

Re: Eragon Movie

This is how I know.

First, go here: www.eragonmovie.com
The characters left to right: Durza, Aijhad, Brom, Eragon, Arya, Murtagh, Galbatorix.

Next, a trailer: http://www.eragon.atw.hu/
I know it's in a foriegn language, but bear with me. On the bottom of the first box on the very left of the page, there is a link that says Film Elozetes. Click on it, then when you see the box that says info on it, got to the bottom and click on the link that says Elozetes Letoltese, and wait for the trailer to load.

Now if you have any more questions, go explore www.shurtugal.com. Don't worry, that's in english.

Re: Eragon Movie

I dunno... The characters look nothing like what I imagined them to be... I would have though Galbatorix would look older, as would Brom... Durza just looks wrong, Arya looks nothing like a usual elf (which might be a good thing) and you're right, Murtagh and Eragon look nothing alike...

I'm really looking forward to it!
I haven't read the books but everything I've heard about them is good.
I hope it doesn't let me down...

Re: Eragon Movie

Well, if you aske me, the movie is going to be better if you didn't read the books. Why you may ask? Because as someone above said, the movie is based loosely from the book, therefore there will be many mistakes.

Re: Eragon Movie

I agree with Minish Link, if it is loosely based on the books, i won't go see it for i have read the books. And, i figured Murtagh to be short. I don't know why, but I did. Durza does look wrong, brom should be older And, where's Roran?

I don't think Roran's in the picture because he doesn't have a big enough role in the movie. Just wait for Eldest. You can do it.

Re: Eragon Movie

I thought Eragon and Arya would look different. I don't mind Brom's look, I imagined him with a longer beard but... whatever. Also, Durza looked horrid until you see him in the trailer, he looks better there.

Re: Eragon Movie

You know what I think? Christopher Paulini isn't a huge-name writer. Authors like J. K. Rowling, Dan Brown etc., can tell the directors what they want their movie to be like, because losing such a huge franchise will be a huge loss to the company. Chris isn't as popular as they are, and is lucky just to have someone considering making a movie out of their book. He has no control over it's content, for fear of losing the movie deal.

It kind of sucks...

Does anyone know what paolini's gonna look like in the movie?
And also, he has control over its content, Jodd. It's his franchise! Duh!

Re: Eragon Movie

Whoah. A movie is being made? Strange.

I just finished reading Eldest a couple of days ago (out of sheer boredom), and I was un-impressed. It was an okay book, but nothing spectacular. So I suppose the movie will be stupid. It seems to be a rule that movies based on books must stink. Perhaps not. At any rate, I probably won't see it anyway as money is precious to me (preeeeeecioussssss...)

Re: Eragon Movie

I don't agree with you on the Eldest thing, but it is your opinion and I won't bother you about it.

And, the Harry Potter series doesn't-- The Lord of the Rings doesn't-- isn't too bad. ^^'

Re: Eragon Movie

Whoah, those characters are way off! What happened to Arya being "a raven-haired elven lady"? And durza having a "runners body, light and compact". I'm quoting the book in case you didn't know.

Re: Eragon Movie

Ah... the classic book VS movie dilemma...

Yeah, Durza just looks... odd. There's no other way for me to put it.

It's too bad that Paolini doesn't have any creative input other than the book itself, or that he doesn't own the majority of rights concerning his own work.

Christopher has said in a few interviews how he's, essentially, been shut out by Fox in all facets of production and how he isn't involved at all.

Let's just hope that they don't screw this book up royally.

Re: Eragon Movie

Stupid Fox Corporation. They're going to destroy the Inheritance Trilogy. I guess I'll start writing the uligy(sp?)
Seriously though, if they screw up the Eragon movie, they basicaly screw teh Inheritance Trilogy. Paolini, in my opinion, made a bad choice in choosing Fox. He should ahve gone with Disney.

J/K about Disney, but they probaly would make it a better movie.

Re: Eragon Movie

Well, I would think that is a correct assumption. They certainly did an excellent job with Narnia.

However... I'll have to check and see which company went for the L.A., Turkish delight into hot dog, "version" of Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
