Re: WWE Discussion Thread

Man, my movie just arrived in the mail from eBay. "Tombstone: The History of the Undertaker"
This movie is great, but I haven't got around to watching it yet because of school and homework. If anyone has the same movie, whats on it?

Re: WWE Discussion Thread

It's funny. I was talking with my dad yesterday (who is also a wrestling fan) and he said (which I forgot) that usually most of the Hall of Famers usually end up coming to the arena for Mania and either sit along the front row or interfere in a match...

Bret Hart anyone?

Re: WWE Discussion Thread

I just can't see it happening. I read about an article Bret had with a Canadian newspaper saying that Bret didn't even want HBK at the HoF ceremony or he'd leave. Actually, HBK had said he'd no show the HoF in order for Bret to accept being inducted. He's said several times, he's only staying for the show and will have absolutely nothing to do with Mania. So as much as I'd love to see it, I don't think he's gonna be any part of the VM-HBK match.

My favorite wrestler is the old school Undertaker. I also like Bret Hart and old school Kane.
Can someone please tell me how Owen Hart died because I don't really know.

I'm not too clued up on it either, but I think he was comming to the ring from the ceiling of the arena, by a zip line of some sort, although the line broke, and he fell.

I'm going round to my friends house to watch Wrestlemania, I think it'll be a good event. Was pretty dissapointed with Raw this week, was expecting something better from the pre-Mania show- althought the HHH & Shawn Micheals match was really good in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to seeing who wins the WWE title (Raw does have the WWE title belt now doesn't it?). I don't think Cena is a particularly good champion, although I really don't like anything about him, so mabey I'm the best judge. I think his gimmick is really cringe worthy, especially that appauling entrance music. I read alot of bad press about HHH, but I think he's the best guy in the WWE right now, and has been for a number of years, although I'm not sure if I want him to hold the belt right now, as I've been enjoying watching him as a contender rather than a champion.

Oh, and on a random note, can somebody fill me in on what's happening with Chris Jericho? I have no idea how he was written out, or why he left. I'm guessing it's something to do with Fozzy, but that's just a guess.

Wrestlemania Wont be as good without him .

Quote:
Hart fell to his death in Kansas City on May 23, 1999, during the WWF's Over the Edge PPV event. He was being lowered into the ring from a catwalk of the Kemper Arena for a match with The Godfather. In keeping with the Blazer's buffoonish character, Owen was to be lowered to just above ring level, at which time he would release himself from the safety harness and then fall flat on his face. Though he had performed the stunt before, Owen was wary about performing the stunt at the Kemper Arena due to the height involved (Owen had a fear of heights). However, Owen performed a practice stunt earlier in the day, the stunt went forward on the show as scheduled. His wife Martha suggests that, by moving around to get comfortable with both the harness and his cape on, Owen triggered an early release and fell 78 feet (24 m) into the ring, smashing his chest on a ring turnbuckle. Viewers at home did not see the incident, as the WWF was transmitting a promotional package for the match. Owen was transported to the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, where he was pronounced dead on arrival (he actually passed away about six minutes after the fall, while still lying in the ring); the cause was later revealed to be internal bleeding from blunt chest trauma. The WWF chose to continue the event despite the tragedy, which drew a great deal of criticism over the following weeks.
Wikipedia. This stunt is also the reason why nothing similar ever occurs anymore.

^ Nah, Jericho's still associated with WWE, he does articles and interviews every so often for WWE.com still. He'll never leave, he's admitted that he's gonna stay with the business for a few more years, maybe with a vacation here and there like now. He's expected to return later this year, I believe.

Re: WWE Discussion Thread

I'm wondering... how many of you are actually excited for the Triple H vs. John Cena match? I'm not as hyped up as I should be for a Wrestlemania main event, and that's a bit disappointing. Cena somewhat spoils the feud for me, I suppose. Is anyone else really hoping for the title to change hands on Sunday? Like Vega, I've enjoyed watching Triple H as a contender, but I'm not sure how much more of Cena as champ I can stomach.

Re: WWE Discussion Thread

It was good, I liked the speeches and seeing the greats again. It's just too bad they had to cut the USA speeches short and let the webcast ones go on forever, you could tell they wanted to say more. I'd be happy if Bret doesn't show at WM, I think he gave a good speech and he got the final word in. Unless Vince does the Montreal screwjob tommorrow night to HBK. Then Vince'll get the last word, and that's just tasteless

Yeah, I know how you feel. Cena should really only be a midcard wrestler in my opinion >_> .

Still, I'm sure it'll be a good match, HHH doesn't usually dissapoint me in Wrestlemania events.

Wee, Wrestlemania is tonight XD .

Re: WWE Discussion Thread

I'll tell you why Cena and HHH are a perfect match; because they hate each other.

Backstage, the two depise one another. Remember when HHH left for a few months after losing to Batista for the third time? Anyone know why that was? Because he knew Cena was coming to Raw, and he couldn't stand being with him for so long.

See, everyone respects HHH backstage, and they basically worship him sometimes. Cena was the first real guy to 'defy' him, I guess, and he never really bowed before him as everyone else did.

So, basically, you can expect them to go 100% on each other tonight. And whoever loses is going to be absolutely pissed

Technically, he did that at Saturday Night Main Event with Shane.

It just seems so obvious. The feud between HBK and Vince started because of the screwing Bret thing, back in end of January (if I remember correctly). Remember? Vince brought it up in the ring about Bret's DVD and how he screwed him, and HBK wanted it to end.

So wouldn't it be fitting that the angle ends because of Bret? He's in the same town, so it's possible.

Can't wait for tonight.
