Favourite Anime/Manga

This thread is now officially the thread for Favourite Anime/Manga. I took a look at the Music section and saw the "Favourite Band/Artist"-thread and thought we should have the same thing here.

I can't be the first to start as I don't like any Anime/Manga, so go ahead.

Edit from Tsukasa:
Please, people. Say why you like the series you mention. "Nuff said" or such things following a single series does not constitute a post we will leave undeleted. Feel free to post more than one series, too. Just because the thread title lacks a plural does not mean you can't make your post a bit larger by including several anime and manga that you enjoy. In fact, it's encouraged.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

Hmm... tough one...

My favorite manga right now is Fruits Basket. It's so utterly adorable and wholesome that I fell in love with it at the first volume.

For Anime, I'm really fond of Fooly Cooly. It's so random and spastic that I can't NOT like it.

My fav would have to be one piece and dragonball Z but out of them both it will have to be dragon ball z because I have seen every episode of dragon ball z but not one piece.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

Hmm maybe Bleach and Full metal alchemist... at the moment.
It chances all the time. For example Naruto was My number one but because of the fillers it isn´t as good as it was.

My first anime that I watched were the dragonball sagas. They were awesome, but when I wach them today I realise that maybe they weren´t that great after all...

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

I am just gonna stick to my er, roots and say Gundam Wing.

I have watched others after that, but I just have always liked that anime the best. (im not even a huge fan of mecha stuff, and i liked it) It has its flaws sure, but I just like it for some weird reason. Close second comes Cowboy Bebop.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

Robotech is my favorite cause it was the first anime I had ever seen but at the time I had no idea what anime was. I thought it was just another American cartoon like G.I.JOE or Thundercats. Anyway this show to me represents the archetypical big robot anime with characters that have huge eyes, spiky multicolored hair, and of course BIG ROBOTS.

Too bad anime broadcasted in the US has gone down in quality since Pokemon became a hit.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

^ Yeah, Robotech was really cool. Ever read the books? They're amazing

Gundam Seed- I know it took a lot of things from other Gundam titles, but that doesn't stop it from being a great show. Pleasing to the eye, arguably the best music in Gundam, and just something about it that makes it a fun, enjoyable adventure, but also very serious and grim at times. The last episodes, notably, seem to get very dark, and with such a great (though kinda rushed) conclusion, it fits well. But overall I just love the show, the characters, and especially the Gundams, Mobile Suits, warships and Mobile Armors, they just looked great and were executed well. The CE Universe is so appealing to me for some reason, more so than the UC and other AU sagas of Gundam.

Gundam Seed Astray- A mere three volume series, but a great one, in my eyes. As expected, I was very glad to see it in the CE Universe, with Zaft and the Earth Alliance and stuff. Just a fun series with a good cast of characters (Lowe was awesome), and a lot of exciting fights. That, and the Frame Gundams were so nicely designed, in both fighting styles and appearance.

I'll definitely update this sometime, as soon as I figure out what I can consider my other favorites...

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

It's gotta be Trigun. I can't find it on Adult Swim anymore, though! I've got cable. Does anyone know if it'll ever be back on?

Second is Case Closed, or whatever they call it. It's awsome how he gets that lazy detective to express all the evidence for him. I can't find it either! All the things I love get canceled!

Third is Gundam Wing, the origanal one. I loved all the big robots fighting! I wish I had one.

I like Love Hina, and it's the only manga I've ever read. I should start reading others.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

My personal favorite anime would be Inuyasha.

I'm mainly into anime with swordplay. The show itself is pretty funny and has good plots and charaters. All the charaters have different attitudes and backgrounds which makes the show better.

My second favorite is Full Metal Alchemist.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

For anime it would have to be either Naruto or Chobits... two very different series I know, but both have things in them that I absolutely adore.

Manga: I don't read much manga, only a few here and there really. The one I seemed to like the most was Rebirth because it seemed like a pretty cool story with some good action.

Re: Favourite Anime/Manga

The manga series I've been into is Fruits Baskets. I just simply find the series amusing.

As for anime, well I don't get enough exposure as I'd like. Sure I watched DBZ up till about the middle of the Buu Saga. I catch Inyuasha & Full Metal too haphazardly. I've seen Tenchi & Ranma 1/2. I just don't like how Cartoon Network mutilated the Tenchi series. They nearly cut the seasons down by half.

well, i'd say you watched just the good stuff. DBGT really and totally sux. i mean, Akira Toriyama wasn't involved in this one. i read somewhere he intended to end the series with Freezer, but the animation company asked him for more, so he did up to Buu, but he denied to do GT.
